1 Seenaa 22

1 Ergasii Daawit, “Kun mana Waaqayyo Waaqaa ti; kun immoo iddoo aarsaa, aarsaan gubamu Israaʼeliif itti dhiʼeeffamuu dha” jedhe.

Then David said, This [is] the house of the LORD God, and this [is] the altar of the burnt-offering for Israel.

2 Kanaafuu Daawit akka alagoonni Israaʼel keessa jiraatan walitti qabaman ajaje; isaan keessaas akka isaan ijaarsa mana qulqullummaa Waaqaatiif dhagaa soofame qopheessaniif warra dhagaa cabsan ni filate.

And David commanded to assemble the strangers that [were] in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

3 Inni mismaara ittiin hundaa balbalaa hojjetanii fi miʼa ittiin walitti qabsiisan hojjechuudhaaf sibiila akka malee baayʼee fi naasii madaalliin isaa hamma hin qabne ni kenne.

And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;

4 Daawitis sababii warri Siidoonaatii fi warri Xiiroos birbirsa akka malee baayʼee isaaf fidaniif birbirsa baayʼinni isaa lakkaaʼamuu hin dandeenye ni kenne.

Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

5 Daawit akkana jedhe; “Ilmi koo Solomoon ijoollee dha; muuxannoo illee hin qabu. Manni Waaqayyoof ijaaramu kun immoo ulfina qabeessa, kan gurra qabuu fi kan fuula saboota hundaa duratti akka malee miidhagu taʼuu qaba. Kanaafuu ani isaaf qophii nan godha.” Akkasiin Daawit utuu hin duʼin qophii guddaa godhe.

And David said, Solomon my son [is] young and tender, and the house [that is] to be built for the LORD [must be] very magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will [therefore] now make preparation for it. So David made abundant preparation before his death.

6 Ergasii Daawit ilma isaa Solomoonin waamee akka inni Waaqayyo Waaqa Israaʼeliif mana ijaaru isa ajaje.

Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build a house for the LORD God of Israel.

7 Daawitis Solomooniin akkana jedhe: “Yaa ilma ko, ani Maqaa Waaqayyo Waaqa kootiif mana ijaaruu yaadee ture.

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God:

8 Garuu dubbiin Waaqayyoo akkana jedhee gara koo dhufe: ‘Ati dhiiga baayʼee dhangalaafteerta; lola hedduus lolteerta. Ati sababii fuula koo duratti dhiiga baayʼee lafa irratti dhangalaafteef Maqaa kootiif mana hin ijaartu.

But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build a house to my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

9 Kunoo ilmi tokko siif ni dhalata; innis nama boqonnaa ni taʼa; anis diinota isaa kanneen naannoo isaa jiran hunda irraa boqonnaa nan kennaaf. Maqaan isaas Solomoon jedhama; ani bara mootummaa isaa keessa Israaʼeliif nagaa fi tasgabbii nan kenna.

Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies around: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

10 Namni Maqaa kootiif mana ijaaru isa. Inni ilma naaf taʼa; anis abbaa nan taʼaaf. Teessoo mootummaa isaas Israaʼel irratti bara baraan jabeessee nan dhaaba.’

He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I [will be] his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

11 “Egaa yaa ilma ko, akkuma inni waaʼee kee dubbate sanatti akka mana Waaqayyo Waaqa keetii ijaaruun siif milkaaʼuuf Waaqayyo si wajjin haa taʼu.

Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.

12 Akka ati yommuu inni Israaʼel irratti aangoo siif kennutti seera Waaqayyo Waaqa keetii eegduuf Waaqayyo ogummaa fi hubannaa siif haa kennu.

Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.

13 Akkasiin ati yoo ajajaa fi seera Waaqayyo karaa Museetiin Israaʼeliif kenne sana akka gaariitti eegde ni milkoofta. Jabaadhu; onnoomis. Hin sodaatin yookaan abdii hin kutatin.

Then shalt thou prosper, if thou shalt take heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

14 “Kunoo, ani ijaarsa mana Waaqayyootiif warqee taalaantii kuma dhibba tokko, meetii taalaantii miliyoona tokko, naasii fi sibiila akka malee baayʼee kan madaalamuu hin dandeenye, mukaa fi dhagaa illee qopheessuu irratti akka malee dadhabeera. Atis itti dabaluu ni dandeessa.

Now behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add to them.

15 Ati hojjettoota hedduu qabda; isaanis: warra dhagaa cabsan, warra mana dhagaa ijaaranii fi warra ogummaa hojii mukaa qaban, akkasumas namoota ogummaa hojii gosa gosaa,

Moreover, [there are] workmen with thee in great numbers, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of skillful men for every manner of work.

16 kan hojii warqeetii fi meetii, kan naasiitii fi sibiilaa, ogeeyyii hojii harkaa warra lakkoobsi isaanii hin beekamne qabda. Egaa amma hojii jalqabi; Waaqayyos si wajjin haa taʼu.”

Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, [there is] no number. Arise [therefore], and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.

17 Ergasii Daawit akka isaan ilma isaa Solomoon gargaaraniif dura buutota Israaʼel hunda ni ajaje.

David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, [saying],

18 Akkanas isaaniin jedhe; “Waaqayyo Waaqni keessan isin wajjin jira mitii? Inni gama hundaan boqonnaa isiniif kenneera mitii? Inni jiraattota biyya kanaa dabarsee natti kenneeraatii; biyyattiinis Waaqayyoo fi saba isaatiif garboomteerti.

[Is] not the LORD your God with you? and hath he [not] given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.

19 Amma Waaqayyo Waaqa keessan barbaaduuf garaa fi lubbuu keessan guutuudhaan kutadhaa kaʼaa. Akka taabota kakuu Waaqayyootii fi miʼoota qulqulluu kan Waaqaa fiddanii mana qulqullummaa kan Maqaa Waaqayyootiif ijaaramuuf jiru sanatti galchitaniif mana Waaqayyo Gooftaa ijaaruu jalqabaa.”

Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise, therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
