1 Ergasii Daawit Filisxeemota moʼatee of jala isaan galfate; Gaatii fi gandoota naannoo ishee jiranis harka Filisxeemotaatii baase.

And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them; and he took Gath and its dependent towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 Daawit Moʼaabotas ni moʼate; isaanis isa jalatti bulanii gibira fidaniif.

And he smote Moab, and the Moabites became David's servants, bringing presents.

3 Kana irrattis Daawit yeroo Laga Efraaxiis bira yaadannoo ofii dhaabbachuu dhaqetti, hamma Hamaatiitti deemee Hadaadezer mooticha Zoobaa moʼate.

David also smote Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah, at Chamath, as he went to establish his dominion at the river Euphrates.

4 Daawitis gaariiwwan waraanaa isaa kuma tokko, abbootii fardaa kuma torbaa fi loltoota lafoo kuma digdama isa irraa fudhate. Innis fardeen gaariiwwanii dhibba tokko qofa hambisee kanneen hafan hunda mogolee kukkute.

And David captured from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot; and David hamstringed all the chariot-teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot-teams.

5 Yeroo warri Sooriyaa kanneen Damaasqoo jiraatan Hadaadezer mooticha Zoobaa gargaaruuf dhufanittis, Daawit isaan keessaa nama kuma digdamii lama fixe.

And the Syrians of Damascus came to aid Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6 Ergasiis kutaa bulchiinsa Damaasqoo kan biyya Sooriyaa keessa qubata loltootaa dhaabbate; warri Sooriyaas isa jalatti bulanii gibira fidaniif. Waaqayyos Daawitiif lafa inni dhaqe hundatti mooʼicha kenne.

Then did David put [garrisons] in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became unto David servants, bringing presents. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.

7 Daawitis gaachana warqee kan ajajjoonni loltoota Hadaadezer harkatti qabatan fudhatee gara Yerusaalem fide.

And David took the quivers of gold that were on the servants of Hadar'ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 Daawit magaalaawwan Hadaadezer jechuunis Xibihaatii fi Kuuni naasii akka malee baayʼee fudhate; Solomoon immoo Gaanii naasii, utubaawwanii fi miʼoota naasii garaa garaa naasii sana irraa hojjete.

And from Tibchath, and from Kun, cities of Hadar'ezer, did David take exceedingly much copper; thereof made Solomon the copper sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of copper.

9 Tooʼuun mootiin Hamaati yommuu akka Daawit guutummaa loltoota Hadaadezer mooticha Zoobaa moʼate dhagaʼetti,

And when To'u the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah:

10 akka inni sababii ol aantummaa Daawit Mootichi waraana keessatti Hadaadezer irratti argateetiif harka isa fuudhee dhaamsa gammachuu isaaf dabarsuuf ilma ofii Hadooraamin gara isaatti erge; Hadaadezer Tooʼuu wajjin wal waraanaa tureetii. Adooraamis kennaa gosa hundaa warqee irraa, meetii fi naasii irraa hojjetaman fideef.

Then did he send Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well-being, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadar'ezer, and smitten him: for Hadar'ezer had been engaged in wars with To'u; and [he had with him] all manner of vessels of gold and silver and copper.

11 Daawit Mootichis akkuma meetii fi warqee saboota Edoom, Moʼaab, Amoonota, Filisxeemotaa fi Amaaleq hunda irraa boojiʼee ture godhe sana miʼoota kanneen illee Waaqayyoof addaan baase.

Also these did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and the gold that he had carried away from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of 'Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from 'Amalek.

12 Abiishaayi ilmi Zeruuyaa Sulula Soogiddaa keessatti Edoomota kuma kudha saddeet fixe.

And Abshai the son of Zeruyah smote of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand [men].

13 Innis Edoom keessa qubata loltootaa dhaabbate; Edoomonni hundinuus Daawitiif ni garbooman. Waaqayyos lafa inni dhaqe hundatti Daawitiif moʼannaa ni kenne.

And he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became servants unto David. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.

14 Daawit guutummaa Israaʼel irratti mootii taʼee saba isaa hundaaf murtii qajeelaa fi qajeelummaadhaan hojjete.

And David reigned over all Israel, and he did what is just and right unto all his people.

15 Yooʼaab ilmi Zeruuyaa hoogganaa loltootaa ture; Yehooshaafaax ilmi Ahiiluud immoo galmeessaa ture;

And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud, recorder.

16 Zaadoq ilmi Ahiixuubii fi Abiimelek ilmi Abiyaataar luboota turan; Shaafisaan immoo barreessaa ture;

And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Abimelech the son of Ebyathar, were [the] priests; and Shavsha was scribe;

17 Benaayaa ilmi Yehooyaadaa hoogganaa Kereetotaa fi Pheletotaa ture; ilmaan Daawit immoo mootichatti aananii qondaaltota hangafoota turan.

And Benayahu the son of Jehoyada' was over the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were the first at the side of the king.
