ରୋମୀୟ 11
1 ତେବେ ମୁଁ କହେ, ଈଶ୍ବର କି ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି? ତାହା କେବେ ହେଁ ନ ହେଉ, କାରଣ ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କ ବଂଶଜାତ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନଙ୍କ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀର ଜଣେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲୀୟ ଲୋକ।
So now I say, God did not reject His people, did He? Of course not! Why I myself am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin!
2 ଈଶ୍ବର ଆପଣାର ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଜାଣିଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି; ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ବିବରଣରେ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର କଅଣ କହେ, ତାହା କି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣ ନାହିଁ? ସେ କିପରି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କଠାରେ ନିବେଦନ କରନ୍ତି,
God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel saying:
3 “ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭର ବେଦିଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଖୋଳି ପକାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ମୁଁ ଏକାକୀ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିଅଛି, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ନେବାକୁ ଖୋଜୁଅଛନ୍ତି।”
“Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to take my life!”
4 କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଈଶ୍ବର କଅଣ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଅନ୍ତି? “ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ବାଆଲ୍ ଦେବତା ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଆଣ୍ଠୁ ପକାଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି, ଏପରି ସାତ ହଜାର ଲୋକ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରଖିଅଛୁ।”
But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
5 ସେହିପରି ଏହି ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସମୟରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହର ନିର୍ବାଚନ ଅନୁସାରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଅଂଶ ରହିଅଛି।
Even so then at this present time, there is a remnant according to an election by grace.
6 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ତାହା ଅନୁଗ୍ରହରେ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ତାହା ଆଉ କ୍ରିୟାକର୍ମ ହେତୁ ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ; ନୋହିଲେ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ଆଉ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ନୁହେଁ।
Now if by grace, it is no longer from works; otherwise the grace is no longer grace. But if from works, it is no longer grace; otherwise the work is no longer work.
7 ତେବେ କଅଣ? ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଯାହା ଖୋଜୁଅଛି, ତାହା ପାଇ ନାହିଁ; କିନ୍ତୁ ନିର୍ବାଚିତମାନେ ତାହା ପାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟମାନେ ଜଡ଼ କରାଗଲେ;
What then? What Israel is seeking, this it did not obtain; but the election did obtain it, while the rest were dulled.
8 ଯେପରି ଲେଖାଅଛି, “ଈଶ୍ବର ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଡ଼ତାର ଆତ୍ମା ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏପରି ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେପରି ସେମାନେ ଦେଖିବେ ନାହିଁ, ଆଉ ଏପରି କର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେପରି ସେମାନେ ଶୁଣିବେ ନାହିଁ।”
Just as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that were not to see and ears that were not to hear, to this very day.”
9 ପୁଣି, ଦାଉଦ କହନ୍ତି, “ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଭୋଜନ ଫାନ୍ଦ ଓ ଫାଶ ପରି ହେଉ, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ତାହା ବିଘ୍ନ ଓ ପ୍ରତିଶୋଧ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେଉ।
And David says: “Let their table be made into a snare and into a trap, into a stumbling block and into a retribution to them.
10 ଯେପରି ସେମାନେ ଦେଖି ନ ପାରନ୍ତି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଅନ୍ଧ ହେଉ, ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପୃଷ୍ଠ ସର୍ବଦା କୁବ୍ଜା କରି ରଖ।”
Let their eyes be darkened so as not to see, and their back always be bowed down.”
11 ତେବେ ମୁଁ ପଚାରେ, କଅଣ ଯିହୁଦୀମାନେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଝୁଣ୍ଟିଲେ? ତାହା କେବେ ହେଁ ନ ହେଉ, ବରଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପତନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଅଣଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇଅଛି।
So now I say, surely they have not stumbled so as to fall [and stay fallen]? Of course not! Rather, through their transgression the salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 ଯଦି ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପତନ ଜଗତର ଧନ ସ୍ୱରୂପ, ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ହ୍ରାସ ଅଣଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ଧନ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହୋଇଅଛି, ତାହାହେଲେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣତା ଆହୁରି କେତେ ଅଧିକ ଧନ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ନ ହେବ!
Now if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss riches for the nations, how much more their fulfillment!
13 କିନ୍ତୁ ଅଣଯିହୁଦୀ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ କହୁଅଛି। ମୁଁ ଅଣଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରେରିତ ହେବାରୁ ମୋʼ ସେବକପଦର ଗୌରବ କରୁଅଛି,
So I am speaking to you Gentiles (inasmuch as I am ‘apostle to the Gentiles’, I magnify my ministry),
14 ଯେପରି କୌଣସି ପ୍ରକାରେ ମୋହର ସ୍ୱଜାତିମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ କରାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେତେକଙ୍କୁ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ କରିପାରେ।
if somehow I can provoke my own people to jealousy and save some of them.
15 କାରଣ ଯଦି ସେମାନଙ୍କର ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସଂସାରର ମିଳନ ଘଟିଲା, ତେବେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଗ୍ରହଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା କଅଣ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜୀବନ ଲାଭ ନ ହେବ?
For if their being rejected means reconciliation for the world, what will their restoration be but life from the dead?
16 ଆଉ ଯଦି ପ୍ରଥମ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗୀକୃତ ଅଂଶ ପବିତ୍ର, ତାହାହେଲେ ସମସ୍ତ ପିଠୋଉ ମଧ୍ୟ ପବିତ୍ର; ପୁଣି, ଯଦି ମୂଳ ପବିତ୍ର, ତେବେ ଶାଖାସବୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପବିତ୍ର।
Now if the ‘firstfruit’ is holy, so is the whole batch; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ଘରୋଇ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷର କେତେକ ଶାଖା ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେଲା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବନ୍ୟ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷର ଶାଖା ହେଲେ ହେଁ ସେହି ଘରୋଇ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷରେ କଲମ କରାଗଲ, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷ ମୂଳର ରସର ଅଂଶୀ ହେଲ,
Now if some of the branches were broken off, while you, being a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among them, and with them have become a partaker of the root and the rich sap of the cultivated olive,
18 ତେବେ ସେହି ଡାଳଗୁଡ଼ିକ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଗର୍ବ କର ନାହିଁ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ଗର୍ବ କର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ମୂଳକୁ ଧରି ନାହଁ, ମାତ୍ର ମୂଳ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଧରିଅଛି, ଏହା ଜାଣିଥାଅ।
do not boast against those branches (since if you do boast—it is not you who support the root but the root you).
19 ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କହିବ, ମୁଁ ଯେପରି କଲମ ହୋଇପାରେ, ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ଡାଳଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହୋଇଅଛି।
You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”
20 ଭଲ କଥା, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସ ହେତୁ ସେମାନେ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେଲେ, ଆଉ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସ୍ଥାନ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛ। ଗର୍ବିତମନା ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଭୟ କର;
Granted. Because of unbelief they were broken off, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear!
21 କାରଣ ଯଦି ଈଶ୍ବର ସ୍ୱାଭାବିକ ଶାଖାଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଛାଡ଼ିବେ ନାହିଁ।
Because if God did not spare the natural branches, perhaps He will not spare you either!
22 ଅତଏବ, ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦୟା ଓ କଠୋରତା ବୁଝ; ଯେଉଁମାନେ ପତିତ ହେଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କଠୋରତା, କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯଦି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦୟାର ଶରଣାପନ୍ନ ହୋଇ ରହିଥାଅ, ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦୟା; ନୋହିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ କଟାଯିବ।
So consider the kindness and severity of God: upon those who fell, severity; but toward you, kindness, if you continue in that kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off.
23 ଆଉ, ସେମାନେ ଯଦି ଅବିଶ୍ୱାସରେ ନ ରୁହନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ କଲମ କରାଯିବେ, କାରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଉ ଥରେ କଲମ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଈଶ୍ବର ସମର୍ଥ ଅଟନ୍ତି।
And even they, if they do not persist in the unbelief, will be grafted back in, because God has the power to graft them in again.
24 କାରଣ ଯାହା ସ୍ୱଭାବତଃ ବନ୍ୟ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷ, ଯଦି ସେଥିରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଟାଯାଇ ଅସ୍ୱାଭାବିକଭାବେ ଉତ୍ତମ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷରେ କଲମ କରାଗଲ, ତେବେ ସ୍ୱାଭାବିକ ଶାଖା ଯେ ଏମାନେ, ଏମାନେ କେତେ ଅଧିକ ଭାବରେ ନିଜ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷରେ କଲମ କରାଯିବେ!
For if you were cut out of a wild by nature olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 କାରଣ, ହେ ଭାଇମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ଆପଣା ଆପଣାକୁ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ବୋଲି ମନେ ନ କର ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେ ଏହି ନିଗୂଢ଼ତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ଅଜ୍ଞ ରୁହ, ଏହା ମୋହର ଇଚ୍ଛା ନୁହେଁ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ଯେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅଣଯିହୁଦୀମାନେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସଂଖ୍ୟାରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି, ସେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଅଂଶକ୍ରମେ କଠିନ ହୋଇଅଛି;
Brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant of this ‘mystery’ (so that you not be conceited): hardening has come upon Israel in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
26 ଆଉ, ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ପାଇବେ, ଯେପରି ଲେଖାଅଛି, “ସିୟୋନରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାରକର୍ତ୍ତା ଆଗମନ କରିବେ, ସେ ଯାକୁବଠାରୁ ଅଧର୍ମ ଦୂର କରିବେ।
And so all Israel will be saved, just as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn ungodliness away from Jacob;
27 ଆଉ, ଯେତେବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପାପସବୁ ହରଣ କରିବା, ସେତେବେଳେ ଏହା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆମ୍ଭର ନିୟମ ହେବ।”
this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”
28 ସୁସମାଚାର ବିଷୟ ବିଚାର କଲେ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସକାଶେ ବିରୋଧର ପାତ୍ର, କିନ୍ତୁ ନିର୍ବାଚନ ବିଷୟ ବିଚାର କଲେ ପିତୃ-ପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ସକାଶେ ସେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରିୟପାତ୍ର।
On the one hand, regarding the Gospel, they are enemies because of you; on the other, regarding the election, they are beloved on account of the forefathers.
29 କାରଣ, ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦାନସମୂହ ଓ ଆହ୍ୱାନ ଅନ୍ୟଥା ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ।
Because God's gracious gifts and calling are irrevocable.
30 ଯେଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ପୂର୍ବେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଅନାଜ୍ଞାବହ ଥିଲ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଏବେ ଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ଅନାଜ୍ଞାବହତା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦୟା ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛ,
For just as you also were once disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy through their disobedience,
31 ସେହିପରି ଏମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏବେ ଅନାଜ୍ଞାବହ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ଦୟା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଏମାନେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଏବେ ଦୟା ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି।
so also these have now been disobedient that through the mercy shown to you they also may be shown mercy.
Yes, God has given everyone over to disobedience so that He might show mercy to all. (eleēsē g1653)
33 ଆହା! ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ଓ ଜ୍ଞାନରୂପ ନିଧି କେଡ଼େ ଗଭୀର! ତାହାଙ୍କର ବିଚାରସବୁ କିପରି ବୋଧର ଅଗମ୍ୟ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଥସବୁ କିପରି ରହସ୍ୟାବୃତ!
Oh, the depth of the riches of God's wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways!
34 “କାରଣ, ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ମନ କିଏ ଜାଣିଅଛି? କିମ୍ବା ତାହାଙ୍କର ପରାମର୍ଶଦାତା କିଏ ହୋଇଅଛି?”
Because “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?”
35 “ଅବା କିଏ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଥମରେ ଦାନ କରିଅଛି, ଆଉ ତାହାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଦାନ କରାଯିବ?”
Or “Who has ever given to Him and has to be repaid?”
