ଗୀତସଂହିତା 49
1 ପ୍ରଧାନ ବାଦ୍ୟକର ନିମନ୍ତେ କୋରହ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଗୀତ। ହେ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀସକଳ, ଏହା ଶୁଣ, ହେ ଜଗନ୍ନିବାସୀଗଣ,
To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world:
2 ନୀଚ ଓ ଉଚ୍ଚ, ଧନୀ ଓ ଦରିଦ୍ର ସମସ୍ତେ, ଏକତ୍ର କର୍ଣ୍ଣପାତ କର।
Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike.
3 ମୋହର ମୁଖ ଜ୍ଞାନର କଥା କହିବ ଓ ମୋʼ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣର ଧ୍ୟାନ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ବିଷୟକ ହେବ।
My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding:
4 ମୁଁ ଦୃଷ୍ଟାନ୍ତରେ କର୍ଣ୍ଣପାତ କରିବି; ମୁଁ ବୀଣା ଯନ୍ତ୍ରରେ ଆପଣା ଗୁପ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ବ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟା କରିବି।
I will incline mine ear to a parable, I will open my riddle upon the harp.
5 ଯେତେବେଳେ ଅଧର୍ମ ମୋʼ ଗୋଇଠି ପାଖରେ ମୋତେ ଘେରେ, ଏପରି ବିପଦ ସମୟରେ କାହିଁକି ଭୟ କରିବି?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of adversity, [when] the iniquity of my supplanters encompasseth me? —
6 ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିରେ ନିର୍ଭର ରଖନ୍ତି; ଓ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଧନର ବାହୁଲ୍ୟରେ ଦର୍ପ କରନ୍ତି;
They depend upon their wealth, and boast themselves in the abundance of their riches. ...
7 ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି ଆପଣା ଭାଇ ନିତ୍ୟଜୀବୀ ହେବା ପାଇଁ, କ୍ଷୟ ନ ଦେଖିବା ପାଇଁ କୌଣସିମତେ ତାହାକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି ନ ପାରେ।
None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,
8 କିଅବା ତାହା ପାଇଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ ଦେଇ ନ ପାରେ;
(For the redemption of their soul is costly, and must be given up for ever, )
9 କାରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣର ମୁକ୍ତି ଦୁର୍ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଓ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳ ଅସାଧ୍ୟ।
That he should still live perpetually, [and] not see corruption.
10 ଯେଣୁ ସେ ଦେଖେ ଯେ, ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ମରନ୍ତି, ମୂର୍ଖ ଓ ପଶୁବତ୍ ଲୋକେ ଏକତ୍ର ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି, ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଛାଡ଼ିଯାʼନ୍ତି।
For he seeth that wise men die; all alike, the fool and the brutish perish, and they leave their wealth to others.
11 ସେମାନଙ୍କ କବର ସ୍ଥାନ ଯେ ଚିରକାଳ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବାସସ୍ଥାନ ଯେ ପୁରୁଷାନୁକ୍ରମେ ରହିବ, ଏହା ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଆନ୍ତରିକ ବିଚାର; ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ନାମାନୁସାରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଭୂମିର ନାମ ରଖନ୍ତି।
Their inward thought is, that their houses are for ever, their dwelling-places from generation to generation: they call the lands after their own names.
12 ମାତ୍ର ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଐଶ୍ୱର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ସ୍ଥିର ରହେ ନାହିଁ; ସେ ବିନାଶ୍ୟ ପଶୁ ତୁଲ୍ୟ।
Nevertheless, man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
13 ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଏହି ଗତି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମୂର୍ଖତା ଅଟେ; ତଥାପି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ପସନ୍ଦ କରନ୍ତି। (ସେଲା)
This their way is their folly, yet they that come after them delight in their sayings. (Selah)
14 ସେମାନେ ମେଷପଲ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ପାତାଳ ପାଇଁ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ; ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପାଳକ ହେବ; ଆଉ, ସରଳ ଲୋକେ ପ୍ରଭାତରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କର୍ତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱ କରିବେ; ଆଉ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଶୋଭା ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ପାତାଳର ହେବ ଓ ତହିଁ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆଉ ବାସସ୍ଥାନ ନ ଥିବ। (Sheol h7585)
Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them. (Sheol h7585)
15 ମାତ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ପାତାଳର ପରାକ୍ରମରୁ ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବେ; କାରଣ ସେ ମୋତେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବେ। (ସେଲା) (Sheol h7585)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 କେହି ଧନବାନ ହେଲେ ଓ ତାହାର ଗୃହର ଐଶ୍ୱର୍ଯ୍ୟ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭୀତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ;
Be not afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased:
17 କାରଣ ମରଣକାଳରେ ସେ କିଛି ନେଇଯିବ ନାହିଁ; ତାହାର ଐଶ୍ୱର୍ଯ୍ୟ ତାହାର ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍ଗମନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him.
18 ଯଦ୍ୟପି ସେ ଜୀବଦ୍ଦଶାରେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣର ଧନ୍ୟବାଦ କଲା, ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣାର ଭଲ କଲେ, ଲୋକେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରନ୍ତି;
Though he blessed his soul in his lifetime, — and men will praise thee when thou doest well to thyself, —
19 ତଥାପି ସେ ଆପଣା ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବ; ସେମାନେ କଦାପି ଦୀପ୍ତି ଦେଖିବେ ନାହିଁ।
It shall go to the generation of his fathers: they shall never see light.
20 ଯେଉଁ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଐଶ୍ୱର୍ଯ୍ୟଶାଳୀ ହୋଇ ବିବେଚନା ନ କରେ, ସେ ବିନାଶ୍ୟ ପଶୁ ତୁଲ୍ୟ।
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
