ଗୀତସଂହିତା 120

1 ଆରୋହଣ ଗୀତ। ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ବିପଦରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲି, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମୋତେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ।

“A song of the degrees.” Unto the Lord, when I was in distress, did I call, and he hath answered me.

2 ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ମିଥ୍ୟାବାଦୀ ଓଷ୍ଠାଧରରୁ ଓ ପ୍ରବଞ୍ଚକ ଜିହ୍ୱାରୁ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କର।

O Lord, deliver my soul from lips of falsehood, and from a tongue of deceit.

3 ହେ ପ୍ରବଞ୍ଚକ ଜିହ୍ୱେ, ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କଅଣ ଦିଆଯିବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଅଧିକ କଅଣ କରାଯିବ?

What will [God] give unto thee? or what will he add unto thee, thou tongue of deceit?

4 ବୀରର ତୀକ୍ଷ୍ଣ ତୀର ଓ ରେତମ କାଷ୍ଠର ଅଙ୍ଗାର ସହ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦେବେ।

Sharpened arrows of the mighty, with coals of the broom-bush.

5 ହାୟ, ହାୟ, ମୁଁ ମେଶକ୍‍ରେ ପ୍ରବାସ କରେ। ମୁଁ କେଦାରର ତମ୍ବୁସମୂହ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାସ କରେ।

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 ଶାନ୍ତି ଘୃଣାକାରୀ ଲୋକ ସହିତ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରାଣ ଦୀର୍ଘ କାଳ ବାସ କରିଅଛି।

Too long for herself hath my soul dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7 ମୁଁ ଶାନ୍ତି ଚାହେଁ; ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ କଥା କହିଲେ, ସେମାନେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ଚାହାନ୍ତି।

I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
