ହିତୋପଦେଶ 7
1 ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ମୋହର କଥାସବୁ ପାଳନ କର ଓ ମୋହର ଆଜ୍ଞାସବୁ ଆପଣା ହୃଦୟରେ ସଞ୍ଚୟ କରି ରଖ।
[My] son, keep my words, and hide with you my commandments. [My] son, honour the Lord, and you shall be strong; and fear none but him:
2 ମୋହର ଆଜ୍ଞାସବୁ ପାଳନ କର, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ ଓ ଆପଣା ଚକ୍ଷୁର ତାରା ପରି ମୋହର ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ରକ୍ଷା କର।
keep my commandments, and you shall live; and [keep] my words as the pupils of [your] eyes.
3 ତୁମ୍ଭର ସମସ୍ତ ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳିରେ ତାହା ବାନ୍ଧ; ତୁମ୍ଭର ହୃଦୟ-ପଟାରେ ତାହାସବୁ ଲେଖି ରଖ।
And bind them on your fingers, and write [them] on the table of your heart.
4 ଜ୍ଞାନକୁ କୁହ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋହର ଭଗିନୀ,” ଆଉ ସୁବିବେଚନାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଜ୍ଞାତି ବୋଲି କୁହ।
Say that wisdom is your sister, and gain prudence as an acquaintance for yourself;
5 ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ପରସ୍ତ୍ରୀଠାରୁ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ଚାଟୁବାଦିନୀ ପରକୀୟାଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବେ।
that she may keep you from the strange and wicked woman, if she should assail you with flattering words.
6 ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ଗୃହର ଝରକାର ଜାଲି ପରଦା ଦେଇ ନିରୀକ୍ଷଣ କରୁଥିଲି;
For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets, at one whom she may see of the senseless ones, a young man void of understanding,
7 ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଲି, ଅଜ୍ଞାନମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଓ ଚିହ୍ନିଲି ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଜଣେ ବୁଦ୍ଧିହୀନ ଯୁବା ଲୋକ
passing by the corner in the passages near her house,
8 ବ୍ୟଭିଚାରିଣୀର ଗୃହକୋଣ ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଗଳି ଦେଇ ଯାଉ ଯାଉ ତାହାର ଗୃହକୁ ଯିବା ପଥରେ ଚାଲିଲା।
and speaking, in the dark of the evening,
9 ସେତେବେଳେ ଗୋଧୂଳି ସମୟ, ଦିନାବସାନ ହେଉଥିଲା, ରାତ୍ରିର କାଳିମା ଓ ଅନ୍ଧକାର ସମୟ।
when there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:
10 ତହିଁରେ ଦେଖ, ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ତାହା ସଙ୍ଗେ ଭେଟିଲା, ସେ ବେଶ୍ୟାବେଶଧାରିଣୀ ଓ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣରେ ଚତୁରୀ।
and the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot, that causes the hearts of young men to flutter.
11 ସେ ବଡ଼ ତୁଣ୍ଡେଈ ଓ ଅବାଧ୍ୟା, ତାହାର ପାଦ ନିଜ ଗୃହରେ ରହେ ନାହିଁ।
And she is fickle, and debauched, and her feet abide not at home.
12 ସେ କେବେ କେବେ ସଡ଼କରେ, କେବେ କେବେ ଛକରେ ଥାଏ ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ କୋଣରେ ଅପେକ୍ଷାରେ ବସିଥାଏ।
For at one time she wanders without, and at [another] time she lies in wait in the streets, at every corner.
13 ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ତାହାକୁ ଧରି ଚୁମ୍ବନ କଲା, ଆଉ ନିର୍ଲଜ ମୁଖରେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲା
Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
14 “ମଙ୍ଗଳାର୍ଥକ ବଳି ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଅଛି; ମୁଁ ଆଜି ଆପଣାର ମାନତ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିଅଛି।
I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:
15 ଏଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଦେଖା କରିବାକୁ ବାହାରକୁ ଆସିଲି ଓ ଯତ୍ନରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମୁଖ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିଅଛି, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପାଇଲି।
therefore I came forth to meet you, desiring your face; [and] I have found you.
16 ମୁଁ ସୁଜନୀ ଓ ମିସରୀୟ ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ସୂତ୍ରର ଡୋରିଆ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଆପଣା ପଲଙ୍କରେ ବିଛାଇଅଛି।
I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.
17 ପୁଣି, ଗନ୍ଧରସ, ଅଗୁରୁ ଓ ଦାରୁଚିନିରେ ମୋହର ଶଯ୍ୟା ସୁବାସିତ କରିଅଛି।
I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.
18 ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରଭାତ ଯାଏ କାମରସରେ ମତ୍ତ ଓ ପ୍ରେମରେ ଭୋଳ ହେଉ।
Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning; come, and let us embrace in love.
19 ଯେହେତୁ କର୍ତ୍ତା ଘରେ ନାହାନ୍ତି, ସେ ଦୂରକୁ ଯାତ୍ରା କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
For my husband is not at home, but is gone on a long journey,
20 ସେ ତୋଡ଼ାଏ ଟଙ୍କା ସଙ୍ଗରେ ନେଇ ଯାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିମା ସମୟରେ ଫେରି ଆସିବେ।”
having taken in his hand a bundle of money: after many days he will return to his house.
21 ଏହିରୂପେ ଅନେକ ମଧୁର ଭାଷା କହି ସେ ତାହାର ମନ ହରଣ କଲା, ଓଷ୍ଠାଧରର ଚାଟୁବାଦରେ ତାହାକୁ ଓଟାରି ନେଲା।
So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray, and with the snares of her lips forced him from [the right path].
22 ଯେପରି ଗୋରୁ ହତ ହେବାକୁ ଯାଏ ଓ ଯେପରି ବେଡ଼ି ପିନ୍ଧିବା ଲୋକ ନିର୍ବୋଧର ଦଣ୍ଡ ପାଇବାକୁ ଯାଏ, ସେହିପରି ସେ ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି ତାହାର ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗଲା।
And he followed her, being gently led on, and [that] as an ox is led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a hart shot in the liver with an arrow:
23 ଆଉ, ଯେପରି ପକ୍ଷୀ ଫାନ୍ଦକୁ ପ୍ରାଣନାଶକ ନ ଜାଣି ତହିଁରେ ପଡ଼ିବାକୁ ବେଗେ ଉଡ଼େ, ଶେଷରେ ତାହାର ଯକୃତ ସେହିପରି ତୀର ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିଦ୍ଧ ହେଲା।
and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for [his] life.
24 ଏଣୁ ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ରମାନେ, ମୋହର କଥା ଶୁଣ ଓ ମୋʼ ମୁଖର ବାକ୍ୟରେ ମନୋନିବେଶ କର।
Now then, [my] son, listen to me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚିତ୍ତ ତାହାର ମାର୍ଗରେ ନ ଯାଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ପଥରେ ବିପଥଗାମୀ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
Let not your heart turn aside to her ways:
26 ଯେହେତୁ ସେ ଅନେକଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷତବିକ୍ଷତ କରି ପକାଇଅଛି, ହଁ, ତାହାର ହତ ଲୋକସକଳ ଅପାର।
for she has wounded and cast down many, and those whom she has slain are innumerable.
