ହିତୋପଦେଶ 5
1 ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ମୋʼ ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ମନ ଦିଅ; ମୋʼ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ପ୍ରତି ତୁମ୍ଭ କାନ ଡେର;
My son, attend to my wisdom. And bow thine ear to my understanding;
2 ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରିଣାମଦର୍ଶିତା ରକ୍ଷା କରି ପାରିବ ଓ ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଓଷ୍ଠାଧର ଜ୍ଞାନର କଥା ପାଳନ କରି ପାରିବ।
That thou mayest keep discretion, And that thy lips may preserve knowledge!
3 ଯେହେତୁ ପରସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ଓଷ୍ଠରୁ ଟୋପା ଟୋପା ମଧୁ କ୍ଷରେ, ତାହାର ମୁଖ ତୈଳ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ଚିକ୍କଣ ଅଟେ।
Truly, the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil;
4 କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାର ଶେଷ ଦଶା ନାଗଦଅଣା ନ୍ୟାୟ ପିତା, ଦ୍ୱିଧାର ଖଡ୍ଗ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ତୀକ୍ଷ୍ଣ।
But her end is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death; Her steps lay hold of the under-world. (Sheol h7585)
6 ଏଣୁ ସେ ଜୀବନର ସମାନ ପଥ ପାଏ ନାହିଁ; ତାହାର ପଥସବୁ ଚଞ୍ଚଳ, ଆଉ ସେ ତାହା ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ।
That she may not ponder the way of life, Her paths waver when she heedeth it not.
7 ଏହେତୁ ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ରମାନେ, ମୋʼ କଥା ଶୁଣ ଏବଂ ମୋʼ ମୁଖର ବାକ୍ୟରୁ ବିମୁଖ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
Hear me now, therefore, O children! And turn not away from the words of my mouth!
8 ତାହା (ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ) ଠାରୁ ଆପଣା ପଥ ଦୂରରେ ରଖ ଏବଂ ତାହାର ଗୃହର ଦ୍ୱାର ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଅ ନାହିଁ।
Remove thy way far from her. And come not nigh the door of her house:
9 କେଜାଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ଇଜ୍ଜତ ଓ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣାର ପରମାୟୁ ଦେବ;
Lest thou give thy bloom to others, And thy years to a cruel one;
10 କେଜାଣି ଅପରିଚିତ ଲୋକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବଳରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହେବେ ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଶ୍ରମର ଫଳ ବିଦେଶୀର ଗୃହରେ ଥୁଆଯିବ;
Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, And thine earnings be in the house of an alien;
11 ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଶେଷ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମାଂସ ଓ ଶରୀର କ୍ଷୟ ପାଏ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କେଜାଣି ବିଳାପ କରିବ,
And lest thou mourn in thy latter end. When thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12 ଆଉ କହିବ, “ମୁଁ ଉପଦେଶ କିପରି ଘୃଣା କଲି! ପୁଣି, ମୋହର ମନ ଅନୁଯୋଗକୁ କିପରି ତୁଚ୍ଛ କଲା!
And say, “How have I hated instruction! And how hath my heart despised reproof!
13 ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ଶିକ୍ଷକମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ମାନିଲି ନାହିଁ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମୋତେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରତି ଆପଣା କାନ ଡେରିଲି ନାହିଁ,
I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined mine ear to my instructors;
14 ମୁଁ ସମାଜ ଓ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ସର୍ବପ୍ରକାର ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦଶାରେ ପଡ଼ିଲି।”
I have well-nigh fallen into utter misery; In the midst of the congregation and the assembly.”
15 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜ ଜଳାଶୟରୁ ଜଳ ପାନ କର ଓ ନିଜ କୂପରୁ ସ୍ରୋତଜଳ ପାନ କର।
Drink water out of thine own cistern. And running water out of thine own well:
16 ତୁମ୍ଭର ନିର୍ଝର କʼଣ ବାହାରେ ଏଣେତେଣେ ବିସ୍ତାରିତ ହେବ? ଓ ରାଜଦାଣ୍ଡରେ କʼଣ ଜଳସ୍ରୋତ ବହିଯିବ?
So shall thy fountains overflow in the streets, In the wide streets, as streams of water;
17 ତାହା କେବଳ ତୁମ୍ଭର ହେଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ଅପରିଚିତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ନ ହେଉ।
They shall belong to thee alone, And not to strangers with thee;
18 ତୁମ୍ଭର ନିର୍ଝର ଧନ୍ୟ ହେଉ; ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଯୌବନ କାଳର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାଠାରେ ଆମୋଦ କର।
And thy fountain shall be blessed, Yea, thou shalt have joy in the wife of thy youth.
19 ସେ ପ୍ରେମିକା ହରିଣୀ ଓ ରୂପବତୀ ବାଉଟୀ ପରି, ତାହାର ବକ୍ଷ ସର୍ବଦା ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ତୁଷ୍ଟ କରୁ; ଆଉ, ତାହାର ପ୍ରେମରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସର୍ବଦା ଆସକ୍ତ ହୁଅ।
A lovely hind, a graceful doe, Her breasts shall satisfy thee at all times, And thou shalt be always ravished with her love.
20 ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ପରକୀୟାଠାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ଆସକ୍ତ ହେବ? ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ୟର କୋଳ କାହିଁକି ଆଲିଙ୍ଗନ କରିବ?
Why, then, my son, wilt thou be ravished with a wanton, And embrace the bosom of a stranger?
21 ଯେହେତୁ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ସବୁ ଗତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଦୃଷ୍ଟିଗୋଚର ଅଟେ ଓ ସେ ତାହାର ସବୁ ପଥ ସମାନ କରନ୍ତି।
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, And he weigheth well all his paths.
22 ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକର ନିଜ ଅପରାଧ ତାହାକୁ ଧରିବ, ସେ ନିଜ ପାପରୂପ ଦୌଡ଼ିରେ ବନ୍ଧା ହେବ।
His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked; Yea, he shall be held fast by the cords of his own sins.
23 ସେ ଉପଦେଶ ଅଭାବରେ ମରିଯିବ ଓ ଆପଣା ଅଜ୍ଞାନତାର ବୃଦ୍ଧିରେ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହେବ।
He shall die for want of instruction; Yea, through the greatness of his folly he shall stagger.
