ହିତୋପଦେଶ 24
1 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମନ୍ଦ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଈର୍ଷା କର ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସଙ୍ଗୀ ହେବାକୁ ବାଞ୍ଛା କର ନାହିଁ।
Do not be envious of evil men, And do not desire to be with them.
2 କାରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ କଳ୍ପନା କରେ, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଓଷ୍ଠ ଅନିଷ୍ଟ କଥା କହେ।
For their heart meditates [on] destruction, And their lips speak perverseness.
3 ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମିତ ହୁଏ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିରେ ତାହା ସ୍ଥିର ହୁଏ;
A house is built by wisdom, And it establishes itself by understanding.
4 ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ତାହାର କୋଠରିସବୁ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ଓ ମନୋରମ ବସ୍ତୁରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୁଏ।
And the inner parts are filled by knowledge, [With] all precious and pleasant wealth.
5 ଜ୍ଞାନବାନ ଲୋକ ବଳବାନ, ପୁଣି, ବିଦ୍ୱାନ୍ ଲୋକ ବଳ ବଢ଼ାଏ।
The wise [is] mighty in strength, And a man of knowledge is strengthening power,
6 ଅବଶ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭଲ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଘେନି ଆପଣା ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବ; ଆଉ, ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ବାହୁଲ୍ୟରେ ରକ୍ଷା ହୁଏ।
For you make war for yourself by plans, And deliverance [is] in a multitude of counselors.
7 ଅଜ୍ଞାନ ପ୍ରତି ଜ୍ଞାନ ଅତି ଉଚ୍ଚ; ସେ ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଫିଟାଏ ନାହିଁ।
Wisdom [is] high for a fool, he does not open his mouth in the gate.
8 ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ମନ୍ଦ କରିବାକୁ ଚିନ୍ତା କରେ, ଲୋକମାନେ ତାହାକୁ କୁସନ୍ଧାନୀ ବୋଲି କହିବେ।
Whoever is devising to do evil, They call him a master of wicked thoughts.
9 ଅଜ୍ଞାନର ସଂକଳ୍ପ ପାପଯୁକ୍ତ; ପୁଣି, ନିନ୍ଦକ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଘୃଣିତ।
The thought of folly [is] sin, And a scorner [is] an abomination to man.
10 ବିପଦର ଦିନରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେବେ ସାହସହୀନ ହେବ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଶକ୍ତି ଅଳ୍ପ।
You have showed yourself weak in a day of adversity, Your power is restricted,
11 ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନିଆଯିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କର ଓ ହତ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉଦ୍ୟତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବା ପାଇଁ କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
If [from] delivering those taken to death, And you take back those slipping to the slaughter.
12 ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ କୁହ, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହା ଜାଣି ନାହୁଁ, ତେବେ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ତୌଲିବା କର୍ତ୍ତା କʼଣ ତାହା ବୁଝନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ? ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରାଣର ରକ୍ଷାକର୍ତ୍ତା କʼଣ ତାହା ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ? ଆଉ, ସେ କʼଣ ପ୍ରତି ଜଣକୁ ଆପଣା କର୍ମାନୁସାରେ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବେ ନାହିଁ?
When you say, “Behold, we did not know this.” Is the Ponderer of hearts not He who understands? And the Keeper of your soul He who knows? And He has rendered to man according to his work.
13 ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧୁ ଖାଅ, ଯେହେତୁ ତାହା ଭଲ; ପୁଣି, ମଧୁଚାକ ଖାଅ, ଯେହେତୁ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭ ତୁଣ୍ଡକୁ ସୁସ୍ୱାଦୁ ଲାଗିବ।
My son, eat honey that [is] good, And the honeycomb [is] sweet to your palate.
14 ଜ୍ଞାନ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରାଣ ପ୍ରତି ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିବ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ପାଇଲେ, ପୁରସ୍କାର ଥିବାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭରସା ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
So [is] the knowledge of wisdom to your soul, If you have found that there is a posterity And your hope is not cut off.
15 ହେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଧାର୍ମିକର ବାସସ୍ଥାନ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଛକି ବସ ନାହିଁ; ତାହାର ବିଶ୍ରାମ-ସ୍ଥାନ ଲୁଟ କର ନାହିଁ।
Do not lay wait, O wicked one, At the habitation of the righteous. Do not spoil his resting place.
16 ଯେଣୁ ଧାର୍ମିକ ସାତ ଥର ପଡ଼ିଲେ ହେଁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଉଠେ; ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନେ ବିପଦରେ ଝୁଣ୍ଟି ପଡ଼ନ୍ତି।
For the righteous fall and rise seven [times], And the wicked stumble in evil.
17 ତୁମ୍ଭର ଶତ୍ରୁ ପତିତ ହେଲେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କର ନାହିଁ, ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ଝୁଣ୍ଟି ପଡ଼ିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚିତ୍ତ ହୃଷ୍ଟ ନ ହେଉ;
Do not rejoice in the falling of your enemy, And do not let your heart be joyful in his stumbling,
18 କେଜାଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହା ଦେଖି ଅସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ଓ ତାହାଠାରୁ ଆପଣା କ୍ରୋଧ ଫେରାନ୍ତି।
Lest YHWH see, and [it be] evil in His eyes, And He has turned His anger from off him.
19 ମନ୍ଦକର୍ମକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ସକାଶୁ ବିରକ୍ତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ; ପୁଣି, ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଈର୍ଷା କର ନାହିଁ।
Do not fret yourself at evildoers, do not be envious at the wicked,
20 କାରଣ ମନ୍ଦ ଲୋକର କୌଣସି ପୁରସ୍କାର ହେବ ନାହିଁ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଦୀପ ନିଭାଯିବ।
For there is not a posterity to the evil, The lamp of the wicked is extinguished.
21 ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଓ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କର, ପୁଣି, ଚଞ୍ଚଳମତିମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଲିପ୍ତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
Fear YHWH, my son, and the king, Do not mix yourself up with changers,
22 କାରଣ ହଠାତ୍ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ବିପଦ ଘଟିବ; ପୁଣି, ସେହି ଉଭୟର ସଂହାର କିଏ ଜାଣେ?
For their calamity rises suddenly, And the ruin of them both—who knows!
23 ଏସବୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଜ୍ଞାନୀମାନଙ୍କ କଥା। ବିଚାରରେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ମୁଖାପେକ୍ଷା କରିବା ଭଲ ନୁହେଁ।
These are also for the wise: [It] is not good to discern faces in judgment.
24 ଦୁଷ୍ଟକୁ ଯେ କହେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଧାର୍ମିକ, ତାହାକୁ ଲୋକେ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେବେ, ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଘୃଣା କରିବେ।
Whoever is saying to the wicked, “You [are] righteous,” Peoples execrate him—nations abhor him.
25 ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଅନୁଯୋଗ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଆନନ୍ଦ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ଉତ୍ତମ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତେ।
And it is pleasant to those reproving, And a good blessing comes on them.
26 ଯେ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଏ, ସେ ଓଷ୍ଠାଧର ଚୁମ୍ବନ କରେ।
He who is returning straightforward words kisses lips.
27 ବାହାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟର ଆୟୋଜନ କର, କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର; ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣ କର।
Prepare your work in an out-place, And make it ready in the field—go afterward, Then you have built your house.
28 ଅକାରଣରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ବିପକ୍ଷରେ ସାକ୍ଷୀ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଓଷ୍ଠ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପ୍ରତାରଣା କର ନାହିଁ।
Do not be a witness against your neighbor for nothing, Or you have enticed with your lips.
29 “ସେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଯେପରି କରିଅଛି, ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ମୁଁ ସେପରି କରିବି ଓ ତାହାର କର୍ମାନୁସାରେ ମୁଁ ତାହାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବି, ଏରୂପ କୁହ ନାହିଁ।”
Do not say, “As he did to me, so I do to him, I render to each according to his work.”
30 ମୁଁ ଅଳସୁଆର କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ଓ ନିର୍ବୋଧ ଲୋକର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଗଲି।
I passed by near the field of a slothful man, And near the vineyard of a man lacking heart.
31 ପୁଣି, ଦେଖ, ତହିଁର ସବୁଆଡ଼େ କଣ୍ଟା ବଢ଼ିଅଛି ଓ ବିଛୁଆତି ତହିଁ ଉପରେ ବ୍ୟାପ୍ତ ଅଛି, ତହିଁର ପଥର ପାଚେରୀସବୁ ଭଗ୍ନ ହୋଇଅଛି।
And behold, it has gone up—all of it—thorns! Nettles have covered its face, And its stone wall has been broken down.
32 ତହୁଁ ମୁଁ ଅନାଇଲି, ପୁଣି, ମନୋଯୋଗ କଲି; ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଲି ଓ ଉପଦେଶ ପାଇଲି।
And I see—I set my heart, I have seen—I have received instruction,
33 ଆଉ ଟିକିଏ ଶୋଇଲେ, ଆଉ ଟିକିଏ ଢୁଳାଇଲେ, ଆଉ ଟିକିଏ ନିଦ୍ରା ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ହାତ ଭିଡ଼ିମୋଡ଼ି ହେଲେ,
A little sleep—a little slumber—A little folding of the hands to lie down.
34 ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦରିଦ୍ରାବସ୍ଥା ଖଣ୍ଟ ପରି, ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୀନତା ସସଜ୍ଜ ଲୋକ ପରି ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବ।
And your poverty has come [as] a traveler, And your want as an armed man!
