ହିତୋପଦେଶ 16
1 ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣର କଳ୍ପନା ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ଅଟେ; ମାତ୍ର ଜିହ୍ୱାର ଉତ୍ତର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ହୁଏ।
The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, [are] from the LORD.
2 ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ସମସ୍ତ ଗତି ଆପଣା ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ନିର୍ମଳ; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆତ୍ମାମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୌଲନ୍ତି।
All the ways of a man [are] clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
3 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସମର୍ପଣ କର, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସଂକଳ୍ପ ସ୍ଥିରୀକୃତ ହେବ।
Commit thy works to the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ବିଷୟକୁ ତହିଁର ନିଜ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ସାଧନ ନିମନ୍ତେ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଦୁଷ୍ଟକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିନ ନିମନ୍ତେ।
The LORD hath made all [things] for himself: yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 ମନରେ ଗର୍ବୀ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ଘୃଣିତ, ହାତ ଧରାଧରି ହେଲେ ହେଁ ସେ ଅଦଣ୍ଡିତ ନୋହିବ।
Every one [that is] proud in heart [is] an abomination to the LORD: [though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6 ଦୟା ଓ ସତ୍ୟତାରେ ପାପର ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ ହୁଏ, ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ବିଷୟକ ଭୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନେ କୁକ୍ରିୟା ତ୍ୟାଗ କରନ୍ତି।
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD [men] depart from evil.
7 ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ଗତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ତୁଷ୍ଟିକର ହେଲେ, ସେ ତାହାର ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହା ସହିତ ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ବାସ କରାନ୍ତି।
When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 ଅନ୍ୟାୟ ସହିତ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଆୟରୁ ଧାର୍ମିକତା ସହିତ ଅଳ୍ପ ଭଲ।
Better [is] a little with righteousness, than great revenues without right.
9 ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ମନ ଆପଣା ପଥ ବିଷୟ କଳ୍ପନା କରେ; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାର ଗତି ନିରୂପଣ କରନ୍ତି।
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
10 ରାଜାର ଓଷ୍ଠରେ ଦିବ୍ୟ-ବାକ୍ୟ ଥାଏ, ତାହାର ମୁଖ ବିଚାରରେ ସତ୍ୟ-ଲଙ୍ଘନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
A divine sentence [is] in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
11 ଯଥାର୍ଥ ବିଶା ଓ ଦଣ୍ଡି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଓ ଥଳୀରେ ଥିବା ବଟଖରାସବୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର କର୍ମ।
A just weight and balance [are] the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag [are] his work.
12 କୁକର୍ମ କରିବାର ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କର ଘୃଣା ବିଷୟ; ଯେହେତୁ ଧାର୍ମିକତାରେ ସିଂହାସନ ସ୍ଥିରୀକୃତ ହୁଏ।
[It is] an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 ଧର୍ମଯୁକ୍ତ ଓଷ୍ଠ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କର ତୁଷ୍ଟିକର, ପୁଣି, ଯଥାର୍ଥବାଦୀକୁ ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରେମ କରନ୍ତି।
Righteous lips [are] the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
14 ରାଜାର କ୍ରୋଧ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ଦୂତ ପରି; ମାତ୍ର ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକ ତାହା ଶାନ୍ତ କରେ।
The wrath of a king [is as] messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
15 ରାଜାର ପ୍ରସନ୍ନ ବଦନରେ ଜୀବନ ଥାଏ, ପୁଣି ତାହାର ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ଶେଷ ବର୍ଷାର ମେଘ ସ୍ୱରୂପ।
In the light of a king's countenance [is] life; and his favor [is] as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 ସୁନା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଜ୍ଞାନ ଲାଭ କରିବା, ପୁଣି, ରୂପା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବରଞ୍ଚ ସୁବିବେଚନା ଲାଭ ମନୋନୀତ କରିବାର କିପରି ଉତ୍ତମ!
How much better [is it] to get wisdom than gold? and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver?
17 ମନ୍ଦତା ତ୍ୟାଗ କରିବାର ସରଳ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ରାଜଦାଣ୍ଡ, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ପଥ ଜଗି ଚାଲେ, ସେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ରକ୍ଷା କରେ।
The highway of the upright [is] to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18 ଅହଙ୍କାର ସର୍ବନାଶର ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଥାଏ, ପୁଣି, ଦାମ୍ଭିକ ମନ ପତନର ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଥାଏ।
Pride [goeth] before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 ଅହଙ୍କାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଲୁଟିତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଭାଗ କରିବା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଦୀନାତ୍ମା ସହିତ ନମ୍ର ହେବାର ଭଲ।
Better [it is to be] of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କରେ, ସେ ମଙ୍ଗଳ ପାଏ, ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ଯେ ନିର୍ଭର କରେ, ସେ ଧନ୍ୟ।
He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoever trusteth in the LORD, happy [is] he.
21 ମନରେ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ବିଖ୍ୟାତ ହୁଏ, ପୁଣି, ଓଷ୍ଠାଧରର ମିଷ୍ଟତା ପାଣ୍ଡିତ୍ୟ ବଢ଼ାଏ।
The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22 ସଦ୍ବୁଦ୍ଧି, ତାହା ପାଇଥିବା ଲୋକ ପ୍ରତି ଜୀବନର ଝର ସ୍ୱରୂପ ଅଟେ; ମାତ୍ର ଅଜ୍ଞାନତା ଅଜ୍ଞାନମାନଙ୍କର ଶାସ୍ତି।
Understanding [is] a well-spring of life to him that hath it: but the instruction of fools [is] folly.
23 ଜ୍ଞାନବାନର ହୃଦୟ ଆପଣା ମୁଖକୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦିଏ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାର ବାକ୍ୟ ପାଣ୍ଡିତ୍ୟ ବଢ଼ାଏ।
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
24 ମନୋହର ଭାଷା ମଧୁଚାକ ସଦୃଶ, ତାହା ମନକୁ ସୁମିଷ୍ଟ, ଅସ୍ଥିକୁ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ।
Pleasant words [are as] a honey-comb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ କୌଣସି କୌଣସି ପଥ ସରଳ ଦିଶେ, ମାତ୍ର ତହିଁର ଶେଷରେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ପଥ ଥାଏ।
There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end of it [is] the ways of death.
26 ପରିଶ୍ରମକାରୀର କ୍ଷୁଧା ତାହା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପରିଶ୍ରମ କରେ, ଯେହେତୁ ତାହାର ମୁଖ ତହିଁ ପାଇଁ ତାହାକୁ ବାଧ୍ୟ କରେ।
He that laboreth laboreth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
27 ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଅନିଷ୍ଟ କଳ୍ପନା କରେ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାର ଓଷ୍ଠରେ ଜ୍ୱଳନ୍ତା ଅଗ୍ନି ପରି ଥାଏ।
An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips [there is] as a burning fire.
28 କୁଟିଳ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ କଳି ବୁଣେ, ପୁଣି କର୍ଣ୍ଣେଜପ ବିଶେଷ ମିତ୍ରଗଣକୁ ବିଭିନ୍ନ କରେ।
A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29 ଅତ୍ୟାଚାରୀ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀକୁ ଭୁଲାଏ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାକୁ କୁପଥରେ କଢ଼ାଇ ନିଏ।
A violent man enticeth his neighbor, and leadeth him into the way [that is] not good.
30 ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ଚକ୍ଷୁ ମୁଦେ, ସେ କୁଟିଳ ବିଷୟ କଳ୍ପନା କରିବାକୁ ତାହା କରେ; ଯେ ଆପଣା ଓଷ୍ଠାଧରକୁ ଚିପେ, ସେ ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମ ସିଦ୍ଧ କରେ।
He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
31 ପକ୍ୱକେଶ ଶୋଭାଜନକ ମୁକୁଟ, ତାହା ଧର୍ମ ପଥରେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଏ।
The hoary head [is] a crown of glory, [if] it is found in the way of righteousness.
32 ଯେ କ୍ରୋଧରେ ଧୀର, ସେ ବୀର ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ; ପୁଣି, ଯେ ନିଜ ଆତ୍ମା ଉପରେ କର୍ତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱ କରେ, ସେ ନଗର ଜୟକାରୀ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଭଲ।
[He that is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.
33 ଗୁଲିବାଣ୍ଟ କୋଳରେ ପକାଯାଏ, ମାତ୍ର ତହିଁର ନିଷ୍ପତ୍ତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ହୁଏ।
The lot is cast into the lap: but the whole disposing of it [is] from the LORD.
