ହିତୋପଦେଶ 10
1 ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କର ହିତୋପଦେଶ। ଜ୍ଞାନବାନ ପୁତ୍ର ପିତାର ଆନନ୍ଦ ଜନ୍ମାଏ; କିନ୍ତୁ ହୀନବୁଦ୍ଧି ପୁତ୍ର ତାହା ମାତାର ଶୋକର କାରଣ।
Proverbs of Solomon. A wise son causes a father to rejoice, And a foolish son [is] an affliction to his mother.
2 ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା-ଜାତ ଧନ କିଛି ଫଳ ଦିଏ ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ଧାର୍ମିକତା ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରେ।
Treasures of wickedness do not profit, And righteousness delivers from death.
3 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଧାର୍ମିକର ପ୍ରାଣକୁ କ୍ଷୁଧାରେ କ୍ଷୀଣ ହେବାକୁ ଦେବେ ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟର କାମନା ସଫଳ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
YHWH does not cause the soul of the righteous to hunger, And He thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
4 ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଶିଥିଳ ହସ୍ତରେ କର୍ମ କରେ, ସେ ଦରିଦ୍ର ହୁଅଇ; ମାତ୍ର କର୍ମଶୀଳର ହସ୍ତ ଧନବାନ କରେ।
Poor [is] he who is working [with] a slothful hand, And the hand of the diligent makes rich.
5 ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମକାଳରେ ଯେ ସଞ୍ଚୟ କରେ, ସେ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ପୁତ୍ର; ମାତ୍ର ଫସଲ ସମୟରେ ଯେ ନିଦ୍ରିତ ଥାଏ, ସେହି ପୁତ୍ର ଲଜ୍ଜାଜନକ।
Whoever is gathering in summer [is] a wise son, Whoever is sleeping in harvest [is] a son causing shame.
6 ଧାର୍ମିକର ମସ୍ତକରେ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ବର୍ତ୍ତେ; ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ମୁଖ ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ଢାଙ୍କେ।
Blessings [are] for the head of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked covers violence.
7 ଧାର୍ମିକର ସ୍ମରଣ ଧନ୍ୟ, ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ନାମ ପଚିଯିବ।
The remembrance of the righteous [is] for a blessing, And the name of the wicked rots.
8 ଯେ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣରେ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ, ସେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବ; ମାତ୍ର ମୂର୍ଖ ପତିତ ହେବ।
The wise in heart accepts commands, And a talkative fool kicks.
9 ସରଳାଚାରୀ ନିର୍ଭୟରେ ଚାଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ବକ୍ରଗାମୀ ଜଣା ପଡ଼ିବ।
Whoever is walking in integrity walks confidently, And whoever is perverting his ways is known.
10 ଯେ ଆଖିରେ ଠାର ମାରେ, ସେ ଦୁଃଖ ଜନ୍ମାଏ, ପୁଣି, ଅଜ୍ଞାନ ବକୁଆ ପତିତ ହେବ।
Whoever is winking the eye gives grief, And a talkative fool kicks.
11 ଧାର୍ମିକର ମୁଖ ଜୀବନର ନିର୍ଝର, ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ମୁଖ ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ଢାଙ୍କେ।
A fountain of life [is] the mouth of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked covers violence.
12 ହିଂସା କଳି ଜନ୍ମାଏ, ମାତ୍ର ପ୍ରେମ ସବୁ ଅଧର୍ମ ଢାଙ୍କେ।
Hatred awakens contentions, And love covers over all transgressions.
13 ସୁବିବେକୀର ଓଷ୍ଠରେ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଥାଏ, ମାତ୍ର ନିର୍ବୋଧର ପିଠି ପାଇଁ ବାଡ଼ି।
Wisdom is found in the lips of the intelligent, And a rod [is] for the back of him who is lacking understanding.
14 ଜ୍ଞାନୀମାନେ ବିଦ୍ୟା ସଞ୍ଚୟ କରନ୍ତି, ମାତ୍ର ଅଜ୍ଞାନର ମୁଖ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ବିନାଶ ସ୍ୱରୂପ।
The wise lay up knowledge, and the mouth of a fool [is] near ruin.
15 ଧନୀର ଧନ ତାହାର ଦୃଢ଼ ନଗର, ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ଦରିଦ୍ରତା ସେମାନଙ୍କର ବିନାଶ।
The wealth of the rich [is] his strong city, The ruin of the poor [is] their poverty.
16 ଧାର୍ମିକର ପରିଶ୍ରମ ଜୀବନଜନକ, ପୁଣି, ଅଧାର୍ମିକର ଆୟ ପାପଜନକ।
The wage of the righteous [is] for life, The increase of the wicked for sin.
17 ଉପଦେଶ ଯେ ମାନେ, ସେ ଜୀବନ-ପଥରେ ଚାଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଯେ ଅନୁଯୋଗ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରେ, ସେ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହୁଏ।
A traveler to life [is] he who is keeping instruction, And whoever is forsaking rebuke is erring.
18 ଯେ ହିଂସା ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କରେ, ତାହାର ଓଷ୍ଠାଧର ମିଥ୍ୟାବାଦୀ; ପୁଣି, ଯେ ଅପବାଦ ରଚନା କରେ, ସେ ଅଜ୍ଞାନ।
Whoever is covering hatred with lying lips, And whoever is bringing out an evil report is a fool.
19 ବହୁ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ଅଧର୍ମର ଅଭାବ ନ ଥାଏ, ମାତ୍ର ଯେ ଆପଣା ଓଷ୍ଠାଧରକୁ ଦମନ କରେ, ସେ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ।
In the abundance of words transgression does not cease, And whoever is restraining his lips [is] wise.
20 ଧାର୍ମିକର ଜିହ୍ୱା ମନୋନୀତ ରୂପା ତୁଲ୍ୟ, ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ହୃଦୟ ଅଳ୍ପ ମୂଲ୍ୟ।
The tongue of the righteous [is] chosen silver, The heart of the wicked—as a little thing.
21 ଧାର୍ମିକର ଓଷ୍ଠାଧର ଅନେକଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କରେ, ମାତ୍ର ଅଜ୍ଞାନମାନେ ନିର୍ବୋଧତା ସକାଶୁ ମରନ୍ତି।
The lips of the righteous delight many, And fools die for lack of heart.
22 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ଧନବାନ କରେ, ପୁଣି, ସେ ତାହା ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଦୁଃଖ ଯୋଗ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
The blessing of YHWH—it makes rich, And He adds no grief with it.
23 କୁକ୍ରିୟା କରିବାର ଅଜ୍ଞାନର କୌତୁକ, ସେହିପରି ଜ୍ଞାନ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକର।
To execute inventions [is] as play to a fool, And wisdom to a man of understanding.
24 ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଯାହା ଭୟ କରେ, ତାହା ହିଁ ତାହା ପ୍ରତି; ମାତ୍ର ଧାର୍ମିକର ମନୋବାଞ୍ଛା ତାହାକୁ ଦିଆଯିବ।
The feared thing of the wicked meets him, And the desire of the righteous is given.
25 ଘୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିବାୟୁ ବହିଲେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଆଉ ନ ଥାଏ, ମାତ୍ର ଧାର୍ମିକ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳସ୍ଥାୟୀ ମୂଳଦୁଆ ସ୍ୱରୂପ।
As the passing by of a windstorm, So the wicked is not, And the righteous is a perpetual foundation.
26 ଯେପରି ଦନ୍ତକୁ କଟୁ ରସ ଓ ଚକ୍ଷୁକୁ ଧୂଆଁ, ସେପରି ଆପଣା ପ୍ରେରକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଅଳସୁଆ।
As vinegar to the teeth, And as smoke to the eyes, So [is] the slothful to those sending him.
27 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିଷୟକ ଭୟ ଦିନ ବଢ଼ାଏ, ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ବର୍ଷ ଊଣା କରାଯିବ।
The fear of YHWH adds days, And the years of the wicked are shortened.
28 ଧାର୍ମିକର ଆଶା ଆନନ୍ଦଜନକ ହେବ, ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ଭରସା କ୍ଷୟ ପାଇବ।
The hope of the righteous [is] joyful, And the expectation of the wicked perishes.
29 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପଥ ସରଳାଚାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଢ଼ ଗଡ଼; ମାତ୍ର କୁକର୍ମକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ତାହା ବିନାଶଜନକ।
The way of YHWH [is] strength to the perfect, And ruin to workers of iniquity.
30 ଧାର୍ମିକ କେବେ ହେଁ ଘୁଞ୍ଚା ଯିବ ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଦେଶବାସୀ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
The righteous is not moved for all time, And the wicked do not inhabit the earth.
31 ଧାର୍ମିକର ମୁଖ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଜନ୍ମାଏ, ମାତ୍ର କୁଟିଳବାଦୀ ଜିହ୍ୱା ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେବ।
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, And the tongue of contrariness is cut out.
32 ଧାର୍ମିକର ଓଷ୍ଠାଧର ତୁଷ୍ଟିକର କଥା ଜାଣେ, ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ମୁଖ କୁଟିଳ କଥା କହେ।
The lips of the righteous know a pleasing thing, And the mouth of the wicked perverseness!
