ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ଲିଖିତ ଚତୁର୍ଥ ପୁସ୍ତକ 32
1 ରୁବେନ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଓ ଗାଦ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଅନେକ ପଶୁପଲ ଥିଲା; ଏଣୁ ସେମାନେ ଯାସେର ଦେଶକୁ ଓ ଗିଲୀୟଦ ଦେଶକୁ ଦେଖିଲେ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନ ପଶୁପଲ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ସ୍ଥାନ ଥିଲା।
Now the Reubenites and Gadites, who had very large herds and flocks, surveyed the lands of Jazer and Gilead, and they saw that the region was suitable for livestock.
2 ଏଥିରେ ଗାଦ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ, ରୁବେନ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଆସି ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ, ଇଲୀୟାସର ଯାଜକକୁ ଓ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀର ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷଗଣକୁ କହିଲେ;
So the Gadites and Reubenites came to Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the congregation, and said,
3 “ଅଟାରୋତ୍, ଦୀବୋନ୍, ଯାସେର, ନିମ୍ରା, ହିଷ୍ବୋନ, ଇଲୀୟାଲୀ, ସିବମା, ନବୋ ଓ ବିୟୋନ,
“Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,
4 ଏହି ଯେଉଁସବୁ ଦେଶକୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପରାସ୍ତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ପଶୁପଲ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ସ୍ଥାନ ଅଟେ। ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଏହି ଦାସମାନଙ୍କର ପଶୁପଲ ଅଛି।”
which the LORD conquered before the congregation of Israel, are suitable for livestock—and your servants have livestock.”
5 ସେମାନେ ଆହୁରି କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପାଇଅଛୁ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦାସଗଣକୁ ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ଏହି ଦେଶ ଦିଆଯାଉ; ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାରିକୁ ନେଇଯାଅ ନାହିଁ।”
“If we have found favor in your sight,” they said, “let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.”
6 ଏଥିରେ ମୋଶା ଗାଦ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ଓ ରୁବେନ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଭାଇମାନେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଯିବେ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଏଠାରେ ବସି ରହିବ?
But Moses asked the Gadites and Reubenites, “Shall your brothers go to war while you sit here?
7 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ପାର ହୋଇ ସେହି ଦେଶକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ କାହିଁକି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମନକୁ ସାହସହୀନ କରୁଅଛ?
Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land that the LORD has given them?
8 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପିତୃଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କାଦେଶ-ବର୍ଣ୍ଣେୟଠାରୁ ସେହି ଦେଶ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ପଠାଇବା ସମୟରେ ସେମାନେ ଏହିରୂପେ କରିଥିଲେ।
This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to inspect the land.
9 କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଇଷ୍କୋଲ-ଉପତ୍ୟକା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଗମନ କରି ଦେଶ ଦେଖି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦତ୍ତ ଦେଶକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ମନକୁ ସାହସହୀନ କଲେ।
For when your fathers went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land that the LORD had given them.
10 ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ସେହି ଦିନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର କ୍ରୋଧ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ହେଲା, ପୁଣି, ସେ ଶପଥ କରି ଏହି କଥା କହିଲେ,
So the anger of the LORD was kindled that day, and He swore an oath, saying,
11 ‘ଆମ୍ଭେ ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କୁ, ଇସ୍ହାକକୁ ଓ ଯାକୁବକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଶପଥ କରିଅଛୁ, ମିସରରୁ ଆଗତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କୋଡ଼ିଏ ବର୍ଷ ଓ ତତୋଧିକ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ୍କ କେହି ସେହି ଦେଶ ଦେଖି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ, ଏହା ନିଶ୍ଚିତ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଅନୁଗତ ହୋଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି।
‘Because they did not follow Me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years of age or older who came out of Egypt will see the land that I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—
12 କେବଳ କନିସୀୟ ଯିଫୁନ୍ନିର ପୁତ୍ର କାଲେବ ଓ ନୂନର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହୋଶୂୟ ତାହା ଦେଖିବେ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଅନୁଗତ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି।’
not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun—because they did follow the LORD wholeheartedly.’
13 ଏହିରୂପେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ପ୍ରତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର କ୍ରୋଧ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ହେଲା, ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ କୁକର୍ମକାରୀ ସମସ୍ତ ବଂଶର ନିଃଶେଷ ନ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଚାଳିଶ ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଏ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରାଇଲେ।
The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation who had done evil in His sight was gone.
14 ଏବେ ଦେଖ, ପାପିଷ୍ଠ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ବଂଶ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ପ୍ରତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ କ୍ରୋଧ ଆହୁରି ବଢ଼ାଇବାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପିତୃଗଣର ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଉଠିଅଛ।
Now behold, you, a brood of sinners, have risen up in place of your fathers to further stoke the burning anger of the LORD against Israel.
15 କାରଣ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହିରୂପେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍ଗମନରୁ ବିମୁଖ ହେବ, ତେବେ ସେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରିବେ, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି ସକଳ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ବିନଷ୍ଟ କରାଇବ।”
For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave this people in the wilderness, and you will be the cause of their destruction.”
16 ଏଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପଶୁମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ମେଷଶାଳା ଓ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ବାଳକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନଗର ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବା।
Then the Gadites and Reubenites approached Moses and said, “We want to build sheepfolds here for our livestock and cities for our little ones.
17 ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିଜେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ନ ଆଣିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସସଜ୍ଜ ହୋଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗେ ଆଗେ ଗମନ କରିବୁ; କେବଳ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବାଳକମାନେ ଦେଶନିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କ ସକାଶୁ ପ୍ରାଚୀର-ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ନଗରରେ ବାସ କରିବେ।
But we will arm ourselves and be ready to go ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them into their place. Meanwhile, our little ones will remain in the fortified cities for protection from the inhabitants of the land.
18 ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଅଧିକାର ନ ପାଇବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଗୃହକୁ ଫେରି ଆସିବୁ ନାହିଁ।
We will not return to our homes until every Israelite has taken possession of his inheritance.
19 ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନର ଆରପାରିରେ ଓ ତହିଁ ଆଗରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଅଧିକାର ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବୁ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନର ଏହି ପାରିରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାର ପଡ଼ିଅଛି।”
Yet we will not have an inheritance with them across the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on the east side of the Jordan.”
20 ଏଥିରେ ମୋଶା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯଦି ଏହି କର୍ମ କର, ଯଦି ସସଜ୍ଜ ହୋଇ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଗମନ କର,
Moses replied, “If you will do this—if you will arm yourselves before the LORD for battle,
21 ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆପଣା ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣକୁ ଆପଣା ଆଗରୁ ତଡ଼ି ନ ଦିଅନ୍ତି
and if every one of your armed men crosses the Jordan before the LORD, until He has driven His enemies out before Him,
22 ଓ ଦେଶ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ବଶୀଭୂତ ନ ହୁଏ, ସେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ସସଜ୍ଜ ଲୋକ ଯଦି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୁଅ; ତେବେ ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଫେରି ଆସିଲେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ନିକଟରେ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷ ହେବ; ଆଉ ସେହି ଦେଶ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅଧିକାର ହେବ।
then when the land is subdued before the LORD, you may return and be free of obligation to the LORD and to Israel. And this land will belong to you as a possession before the LORD.
23 ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯଦି ସେହିପରି ନ କର, ତେବେ ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପାପୀ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପାପ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧରିବ, ଏହା ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଜାଣ।
But if you do not do this, you will certainly sin against the LORD—and be assured that your sin will find you out.
24 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ବାଳକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ନଗର ଓ ମେଷମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଶାଳା ନିର୍ମାଣ କର, ଆଉ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ମୁଖରୁ ନିର୍ଗତ ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରମାଣେ କର୍ମ କର।”
Build cities for your little ones and folds for your flocks, but do what you have promised.”
25 ତେବେ ଗାଦ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଓ ରୁବେନ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କଲେ, ତଦନୁସାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦାସମାନେ କର୍ମ କରିବେ।
The Gadites and Reubenites said to Moses, “Your servants will do just as our lord commands.
26 ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବାଳକ, ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ, ପଲ ଓ ପଶୁସକଳ ଗିଲୀୟଦର ନଗରମାନଙ୍କରେ ରହିବେ।
Our children, our wives, our livestock, and all our animals will remain here in the cities of Gilead.
27 ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦାସମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ସସଜ୍ଜ ହୋଇ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ପାର ହୋଇଯିବେ।”
But your servants are equipped for war, and every man will cross over to the battle before the LORD, just as our lord says.”
28 ତହୁଁ ମୋଶା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଇଲୀୟାସର ଯାଜକକୁ, ନୂନର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହୋଶୂୟଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ବଂଶୀୟ ପିତୃଗୃହର ପ୍ରଧାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ।
So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the family leaders of the tribes of Israel.
29 ପୁଣି, ମୋଶା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଗାଦ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଓ ରୁବେନ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର, ଯୁଦ୍ଧାର୍ଥେ ସସଜ୍ଜ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହେବେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଦେଶ ବଶୀଭୂତ ହେବ; ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗିଲୀୟଦ ଦେଶ ଦେବ।
And Moses said to them, “If the Gadites and Reubenites cross the Jordan with you, with every man armed for battle before the LORD, and the land is subdued before you, then you are to give them the land of Gilead as a possession.
30 ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି ସେମାନେ ସସଜ୍ଜ ହୋଇ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ପାର ନ ହେବେ, ତେବେ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କିଣାନ ଦେଶରେ ଅଧିକାର ପାଇବେ।”
But if they do not arm themselves and go across with you, then they must accept their possession among you in the land of Canaan.”
31 ତହିଁରେ ଗାଦ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଓ ରୁବେନ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଇ କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତଦନୁସାରେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କର୍ମ କରିବୁ।
The Gadites and Reubenites replied, “As the LORD has spoken to your servants, so we will do.
32 ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସସଜ୍ଜ ହୋଇ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପାର ହୋଇ କିଣାନ ଦେଶକୁ ଯିବୁ ମାତ୍ର ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନର ପୂର୍ବ ଆଡ଼େ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାରରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱତ୍ୱ ରହିବ।”
We will cross over into the land of Canaan armed before the LORD, that we may have our inheritance on this side of the Jordan.”
33 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ଗାଦ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ, ରୁବେନ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ଓ ଯୋଷେଫର ପୁତ୍ର ମନଃଶି ବଂଶର ଅର୍ଦ୍ଧେକକୁ ଇମୋରୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜା ସୀହୋନର ରାଜ୍ୟ ଓ ବାଶନର ରାଜା ଓଗ୍ର ରାଜ୍ୟ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ସ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱ ସୀମା ସହିତ ନାନା ନଗରବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଦେଶ, ଏହିରୂପେ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗସ୍ଥ ଦେଶର ସମସ୍ତ ନଗର ଦେଲେ।
So Moses gave to the Gadites, to the Reubenites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan—the land including its cities and the territory surrounding them.
34 ତହିଁରେ ଗାଦ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଦୀବୋନ୍, ଅଟାରୋତ୍ ଓ ଅରୋୟେର;
And the Gadites built up Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
35 ଅଟ୍ରୋତ୍-ଶୋଫନ, ଯାସେର, ଯଗ୍ବିହ,
Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,
36 ବେଥ୍-ନିମ୍ରା, ବେଥ୍-ହାରଣ ନାମକ ପ୍ରାଚୀର-ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ନଗର ଓ ମେଷଶାଳା ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ।
Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran as fortified cities, and they built folds for their flocks.
37 ପୁଣି, ରୁବେନ୍-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ହିଷ୍ବୋନ, ଇଲୀୟାଲୀ ଓ କିରୀୟାଥୟିମ୍;
The Reubenites built up Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
38 ପୁଣି, ନାମାନ୍ତରରେ ନବୋ, ବାଲ୍-ମୀୟୋନ୍ ଓ ସିବ୍ମା, ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ନଗର ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ, ସେହି ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ନାମ ଦେଲେ।
as well as Nebo and Baal-meon (whose names were changed), and Sibmah. And they renamed the cities they rebuilt.
39 ପୁଣି, ମନଃଶିର ପୁତ୍ର ମାଖୀରର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଗିଲୀୟଦକୁ ଯାଇ ତାହା ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେ ଓ ତନ୍ନିବାସୀ ଇମୋରୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକାରଚ୍ୟୁତ କଲେ।
The descendants of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, captured it, and drove out the Amorites who were there.
40 ତହୁଁ ମୋଶା ମନଃଶିର ପୁତ୍ର ମାଖୀରକୁ ଗିଲୀୟଦ ଦେଲେ; ଆଉ ସେ ସେଠାରେ ବାସ କଲା।
So Moses gave Gilead to the clan of Machir son of Manasseh, and they settled there.
41 ପୁଣି, ମନଃଶିର ପୁତ୍ର ଯାୟୀର ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଗ୍ରାମସବୁ ହସ୍ତଗତ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନାମ ହବୋତ୍-ଯାୟୀର ରଖିଲା।
Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, went and captured their villages and called them Havvoth-jair.
42 ଆଉ ନୋବହ ଯାଇ କନାତ୍ ଓ ତାହାର ନଗର ହସ୍ତଗତ କରି ଆପଣା ନାମାନୁସାରେ ତାହାର ନାମ ନୋବହ ରଖିଲା।
