ମାଥିଉ 8
1 ଯୀଶୁ ପାହାଡ ଉପରୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଆସନ୍ତେ ବହୁସଂଖ୍ୟକ ଲୋକ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଚାଲିଲେ।
As he went down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
2 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଜଣେ କୁଷ୍ଠରୋଗୀ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ପ୍ରଣାମ କରି କହିଲା, ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଆପଣ ଯଦି ଇଚ୍ଛା କରନ୍ତି, ତାହାହେଲେ ମୋତେ ଶୁଚି କରିପାରନ୍ତି।
And behold! a leper came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord if you choose, you can make me clean."
3 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ହାତ ବଢ଼ାଇ ତାହାକୁ ଛୁଇଁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଅଛି, ଶୁଚି ହୁଅ।” ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି ସେ ଆପଣା କୁଷ୍ଠରୋଗରୁ ଶୁଚି ହେଲା।
Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him "I do choose," he said, "become clean," and immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
4 ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ସାବଧାନ, କାହାକୁ କୁହ ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଯାଅ, ନିଜକୁ ଯାଜକଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖାଅ, ପୁଣି, ମୋଶା ଯେଉଁ ନୈବେଦ୍ୟ ବିଷୟରେ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କର।”
Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded, as an evidence to them."
5 ଯୀଶୁ କଫର୍ନାହୂମ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରନ୍ତେ ଜଣେ ଶତ-ସେନାପତି ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ବିନତି କରି କହିଲେ,
When he entered Capernaum, an army captain came, and entered him,
6 ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ମୋହର ଦାସ ପକ୍ଷାଘାତ ରୋଗରେ ଅତିଶୟ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ପାଇ ଗୃହରେ ଶଯ୍ୟାଗତ ଅଛି।
saying, "Lord, my slave at home is lying ill with paralysis, in terrible agony."
7 ସେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଯାଇ ତାହାକୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରିବି।”
"I will come and heal him," said Jesus.
8 କିନ୍ତୁ ଶତ-ସେନାପତି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଆପଣ ଯେ ମୋʼ ଘରେ ପାଦ ପକାଇବେ, ମୁଁ ଏପରି ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ; କିନ୍ତୁ କେବଳ ପଦେ ଆଜ୍ଞା କରନ୍ତୁ, ମୋହର ଦାସ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେବ।
"Lord, "said the captain in reply, "I am not worthy to have you under my roof, but speak the word only, and my slave will be cured,
9 କାରଣ ମୁଁ ପରାଧୀନ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ହେଲେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ମୋହର ଅଧୀନରେ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନେ ଅଛନ୍ତି; ମୁଁ ଜଣକୁ ଯାଅ କହିଲେ ସେ ଯାଏ; ଅନ୍ୟକୁ ଆସ କହିଲେ ସେ ଆସେ; ପୁଣି, ମୋହର ଦାସକୁ ଏହା କର କହିଲେ ସେ କରେ।
"For I myself also am a man under authority, and I have soldiers under me. To one man I say ‘Go,’ and he goes; to another,’Come,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it."
10 ଯୀଶୁ ଏହା ଶୁଣି ଚମତ୍କୃତ ହୋଇ ପଛରେ ଆସୁଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କାହାରିଠାରେ ଏଡ଼େ ବଡ଼ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ପାଇ ନାହିଁ।
As Jesus listened to this reply he was astonished, and said to those who followed him. "In solemn truth I tell you that I have found faith like this in any Israelite.
11 କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ଅନେକେ ପୂର୍ବ ଓ ପଶ୍ଚିମରୁ ଆସି ଅବ୍ରହାମ, ଇସ୍ହାକ ଓ ଯାକୁବଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଭୋଜନରେ ବସିବେ,
"I tell you that many will come from the east and from the west, and sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 ମାତ୍ର ରାଜ୍ୟର ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ବାହାର ଅନ୍ଧକାରରେ ପକାଯିବେ; ସେଠାରେ ରୋଦନ ଓ ଦନ୍ତର କିଡ଼ିମିଡ଼ି ହେବ।”
"but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be the wailing and the gnashing of teeth."
13 ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁ ଶତ-ସେନାପତିଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଯାଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେପରି ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଅଛ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ସେହିପରି ହେଉ।” ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି ଦାସଟି ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେଲା।
Then Jesus said to the captain. "Go! As you have believed, so be it unto you." And his slave was healed in that very hour.
14 ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ପିତରଙ୍କ ଘରକୁ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶାଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଜ୍ୱରରେ ଶଯ୍ୟାଗତା ଥିବା ଦେଖିଲେ;
When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he found his wife’s mother prostrated with fever.
15 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କଲେ, ଆଉ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜ୍ୱର ଛାଡ଼ିଗଲା, ପୁଣି, ସେ ଉଠି ତାହାଙ୍କର ସେବା କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose and waited upon him.
16 ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ହୁଅନ୍ତେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଅନେକ ଭୂତଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିଲେ, ସେଥିରେ ସେ କଥା ମାତ୍ରକେ ଭୂତଗୁଡ଼ାକ ଛଡ଼ାଇଲେ ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ପୀଡ଼ିତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କଲେ,
At evening-time they brought to him many demoniacs. He cast out the demons with a word, and healed all who were ill,
17 ଯେପରି ଯିଶାଇୟ ଭାବବାଦୀଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଉକ୍ତ ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ସଫଳ ହୁଏ, “‘ନିଜେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଦୁର୍ବଳତାସବୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ ଓ ବ୍ୟାଧିସବୁ ବହନ କଲେ।’”
that the word spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, He took upon himself our weaknesses, and bore the burden of our diseases.
18 ଯୀଶୁ ଆପଣାର ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ଲୋକସମୂହ ଦେଖି ଆରପାରିକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ।
When Jesus saw the great crowds about him, he had given directions to cross to the other side,
19 ପୁଣି, ଜଣେ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, ହେ ଗୁରୁ, ଆପଣ ଯେକୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯିବେ, ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗମନ କରିବି।
when a Scribe came up and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go!"
20 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “କୋକିଶିଆଳିର ଗାତ ଅଛି, ଆକାଶ ପକ୍ଷୀର ବସା ଅଛି, ମାତ୍ର ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ରର ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଗୁଞ୍ଜିବାର ସ୍ଥାନ ନାହିଁ।”
"Foxes have their holes," answered Jesus, "and wild birds their roosting-places, but the Son of man has not where to lay his head."
21 ପୁଣି, ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଆଉ ଜଣେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ପ୍ରଥମେ ଯାଇ ମୋହର ପିତାଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଏବଂ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସମାଧି ଦେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ମୋତେ ଅନୁମତି ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ।
Another of his disciples said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father,"
22 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋହର ଅନୁଗମନ କର, ମୃତମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମୃତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସମାଧି ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅ।”
"Follow me," Jesus said to him, "and leave the dead to bury their own dead."
23 ସେ ନୌକାରେ ଚଢ଼ନ୍ତେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗଲେ।
Then he went in board a fishing-boat, his disciples accompanying him;
24 ପୁଣି, ଦେଖ, ସମୁଦ୍ରରେ ଏପରି ପ୍ରବଳ ଝଡ଼ ହେଲା ଯେ, ତରଙ୍ଗରେ ନୌକାଟି ଆଚ୍ଛାଦିତ ହେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା, ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଶୋଇଥିଲେ।
and behold, a sudden storm arose on the sea, so that the boat began to be buried by the waves.
25 ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉଠାଇ କହିଲେ, ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ରକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତୁ, ଆମେ ମଲୁ।
But he was asleep. And they came and woke him, saying. "Lord save us! We are drowning!"
26 ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ଅଳ୍ପ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ଏଡ଼େ ଭୀରୁ?” ସେତେବେଳେ ସେ ଉଠି ପବନ ଓ ସମୁଦ୍ରକୁ ଧମକ ଦେଲେ, ଆଉ ସବୁ ଧିରସ୍ଥିର ହେଲା।
"Why are you afraid?" he said, "you men of little faith!" Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there came a great calm.
27 ସେଥିରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଚମତ୍କୃତ ହୋଇ କହିଲେ, ଏ କିପରି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଯେ ପବନ ଓ ସମୁଦ୍ର ଉଭୟ ଏହାଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞା ମାନନ୍ତି।
But the men were amazed, saying, "What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?"
28 ପରେ ଆରପାରିରେ ଗଦରୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ଭୂତଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ସମାଧି-ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ବାହାରି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିଲେ। ସେମାନେ ଏପରି ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦାନ୍ତ ଥିଲେ ଯେ, ସେହି ବାଟ ଦେଇ କେହି ଯିବା ଆସିବା କରିପାରୁ ନ ଥିଲେ।
When he arrived on the other side, in the country of the Gadarenes, he was met by two demoniacs who were coming out of the tombs. They were so violently fierce that no one dared pass along that road.
29 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସେମାନେ ଚିତ୍କାର କରି କହିଲେ, ହେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର, ତୁମ୍ଭ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କଅଣ ଅଛି? ସମୟ ନ ହେଉଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଏଠାକୁ ଆସିଲ?
"You Son of God," they shouted, "what have you to do with us? Are you come to torment us before the time?"
30 ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଦୂରରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ବଡ଼ ଘୁଷୁରିପଲ ଚରୁଥିଲା।
Now there was, at some distance from them, a herd of many swine feeding;
31 ଏଥିରେ ଭୂତଗୁଡ଼ାକ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବିନତି କରି କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ଯେବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛଡ଼ାଅ, ତେବେ ଘୁଷୁରିପଲ ଭିତରକୁ ପଠାଇଦିଅ।
and the demons began entreating him. "If you are driving us out," they said, "send us into the herd of swine."
32 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଯାଅ।” ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ବାହାରି ଘୁଷୁରିଗୁଡ଼ାକ ଭିତରେ ପଶିଲେ; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଘୁଷୁରିପଲ ଅତି ବେଗରେ ଦୌଡ଼ିଯାଇ ତୀଖସ୍ଥାନ ଦେଇ ସମୁଦ୍ରରେ ପଡ଼ି ବୁଡ଼ି ମଲେ।
He answered, "Go!" So they came out of the men, and went into the swine, and behold! the entire herd rushed headlong down from the cliff into the sea, and perished in the water.
33 ପୁଣି, ଚରାଉଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ପଳାଇଗଲେ ଏବଂ ନଗରକୁ ଯାଇ ସମସ୍ତ ଘଟଣା ଓ ଭୂତଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା ଯାହା ଘଟିଥିଲା, ସେହିସବୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ।
The swineherds fled. They went away into the city and told all about it, and what had befallen the demoniacs.
34 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ନଗରର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିବା ପାଇଁ ବାହାରି ଆସିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସୀମାରୁ ଚାଲିଯିବା ପାଇଁ ବିନତି କଲେ।
At once all the citizens came out to meet Jesus; and when they had seen him, they begged him to move away from their country.
