ମାଥିଉ 26
1 ଯୀଶୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ଶେଷ କରି ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ,
And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2 “ଦୁଇ ଦିନ ପରେ ଯେ ନିସ୍ତାର ପର୍ବ ହେବ, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣ, ପୁଣି, ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର କ୍ରୁଶରେ ହତ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହେବେ।”
Ye know that after two days is [the feast of] the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗ କୟାଫା ନାମକ ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣରେ ଏକତ୍ର ହେଲେ,
Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4 ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଛଳରେ ଧରି ବଧ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା କଲେ;
And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill [him].
5 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, ପର୍ବ ସମୟରେ ନୁହେଁ, କାଳେ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଗଣ୍ଡଗୋଳ ହେବ।
But they said, Not on the feast [day], lest there be an uproar among the people.
6 ଯୀଶୁ ବେଥନୀୟାରେ କୁଷ୍ଠରୋଗରୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ ପାଇଥିବା ଶିମୋନଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ ଥିବା ସମୟରେ,
Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ଗୋଟିଏ ପାତ୍ରରେ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ସୁଗନ୍ଧି ତୈଳ ନେଇ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ ଏବଂ ସେ ଭୋଜନରେ ବସିଥିବା ସମୟରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ମସ୍ତକରେ ଢାଳିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat [at meat].
8 କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହା ଦେଖି ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ବିରକ୍ତ ହୋଇ କହିଲେ, ଏତେ ଅପବ୍ୟୟ କାହିଁକି?
But when his disciples saw [it], they had indignation, saying, To what purpose [is] this waste?
9 ଏହା ତ ଅନେକ ଟଙ୍କାରେ ବିକ୍ରୟ କରାଯାଇ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଆଯାଇ ପାରିଥାଆନ୍ତା।
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10 ଯୀଶୁ ତାହା ଜାଣି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “କାହିଁକି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକଟିକୁ କଷ୍ଟ ଦେଉଅଛ? ସେ ତ ମୋ ପ୍ରତି ଉତ୍ତମ କର୍ମ କରିଅଛି।
When Jesus understood [it], he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11 ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନେ ତ ସର୍ବଦା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ସର୍ବଦା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ନ ଥିବି।
For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12 ଆଉ, ସେ ମୋହର ସମାଧି-କ୍ରିୟାସ୍ୱରୂପେ ମୋହର ଶରୀରରେ ଏହି ତୈଳ ଢାଳିଦେଇଅଛି।
For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did [it] for my burial.
13 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ସମସ୍ତ ଜଗତର ଯେକୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଏହି ସୁସମାଚାର ଘୋଷଣା କରାଯିବ, ସେ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଏ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକର ସ୍ମରଣାର୍ଥେ ତାହାର ଏହି କର୍ମର କଥା ମଧ୍ୟ କୁହାଯିବ।”
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, [there] shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
14 ସେତେବେଳେ ଦ୍ୱାଦଶଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଇଷ୍କାରିୟୋତୀୟ ଯିହୂଦା ନାମକ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଯାଇ କହିଲା,
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15 ମୋତେ କଅଣ ଦେବେ କୁହନ୍ତୁ, ମୁଁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଧରାଇଦେବି। ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ତିରିଶିଗୋଟି ରୌପ୍ୟ-ମୁଦ୍ରା ତୌଲି କରିଦେଲେ।
And said [unto them], What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 ଆଉ ସେହି ସମୟଠାରୁ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଧରାଇ ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସୁଯୋଗ ଖୋଜିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା।
And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17 ପରେ ଖମୀରଶୂନ୍ୟ ରୁଟି ପର୍ବର ପ୍ରଥମ ଦିନରେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ପଚାରିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ନିସ୍ତାର ପର୍ବର ଭୋଜ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବୁ ବୋଲି ଆପଣ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରନ୍ତି?
Now the first [day] of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18 ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, “ନଗରରେ ଯାଇ ଅମୁକ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ କୁହ, ଗୁରୁ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ମୋହର କାଳ ସନ୍ନିକଟ, ମୁଁ ମୋହର ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗୃହରେ ନିସ୍ତାର ପର୍ବ ପାଳନ କରିବି।”
And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
19 ସେଥିରେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଆଦେଶ ଅନୁସାରେ କର୍ମ କରି ନିସ୍ତାର ପର୍ବର ଭୋଜ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କଲେ।
And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
20 ପରେ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଦ୍ୱାଦଶ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଭୋଜନରେ ବସିଲେ।
Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
21 ସେମାନେ ଭୋଜନ କରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ମୋତେ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବ।”
And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦୁଃଖିତ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସେ କଅଣ ମୁଁ?
And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
23 ସେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ଯେ ମୋ ସହିତ ପାତ୍ରରେ ହାତ ବୁଡ଼ାଇଲା, ସେ ମୋତେ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବ।
And he answered and said, He that dippeth [his] hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24 ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଯେପରି ଲେଖାଅଛି, ସେହିପରି ସେ ପ୍ରୟାଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି ସତ୍ୟ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହେଉଅଛନ୍ତି, ହାୟ, ସେ ଦଣ୍ଡର ପାତ୍ର; ସେହି ଲୋକର ଜନ୍ମ ହୋଇ ନ ଥିଲେ ତାହା ପକ୍ଷରେ ଭଲ ହୋଇଥାଆନ୍ତା।”
The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
25 ଏଥିରେ ଯେଉଁ ଯିହୂଦା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲା, ସେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲା, ହେ ଗୁରୁ, ସେ କଅଣ ମୁଁ? ସେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ କହିଅଛ।”
Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
26 ଆଉ, ସେମାନେ ଭୋଜନ କରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଯୀଶୁ ରୁଟି ନେଇ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ କଲେ ଓ ତାହା ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇ କହିଲେ, “ନିଅ, ଭୋଜନ କର, ଏହା ମୋହର ଶରୀର।”
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed [it], and brake [it], and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 ପୁଣି, ସେ ପାନପାତ୍ର ନେଇ ଧନ୍ୟବାଦ ଦେଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇ କହିଲେ,
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 “ଏଥିରୁ ସମସ୍ତେ ପାନ କର, କାରଣ ଯେଉଁ ନିୟମର ରକ୍ତ ଅନେକଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପାପ କ୍ଷମା ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ପାତିତ ହେଉଅଛି, ଏ ମୋହର ସେହି ରକ୍ତ।
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ପିତାଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ନୂଆ କରି ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଫଳର ରସ ପାନ କରିବି, ସେହି ଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆଜିଠାରୁ ଏହା କେବେ ହେଁ ପାନ କରିବି ନାହିଁ।”
But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
30 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ସ୍ତବଗାନ କଲା ପରେ ଜୀତପର୍ବତକୁ ବାହାରିଗଲେ।
And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
31 ସେତେବେଳେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଏହି ରାତ୍ରିରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ମୋʼଠାରେ ବିଘ୍ନ ପାଇବ, କାରଣ ଲେଖାଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ମେଷପାଳକକୁ ପ୍ରହାର କରିବା, ଆଉ ପଲର ମେଷଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହୋଇଯିବେ।
Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
32 ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ଉଠିବା ପରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗେ ଆଗେ ଗାଲିଲୀକୁ ଯିବି।”
But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 କିନ୍ତୁ ପିତର ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଯଦ୍ୟପି ସମସ୍ତେ ଆପଣଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଘ୍ନ ପାଇବେ, ତଥାପି ମୁଁ କେବେ ହେଁ ପାଇବି ନାହିଁ।
Peter answered and said unto him, Though all [men] shall be offended because of thee, [yet] will I never be offended.
34 ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ଏହି ରାତିରେ କୁକୁଡ଼ା ଡାକିବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ତିନି ଥର ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରିବ।”
Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
35 ପିତର ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଯଦ୍ୟପି ମୋତେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ମରିବାକୁ ହୁଏ, ତଥାପି ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ କେବେ ହେଁ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରିବି ନାହିଁ। ସମସ୍ତ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ କହିଲେ।
Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
36 ଏହାପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଗେଥ୍ଶିମାନୀ ନାମକ ଗୋଟିଏ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ସେଠାକୁ ଯାଇ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଥିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏଠାରେ ବସିଥାଅ।”
Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 ଆଉ, ସେ ପିତର ଓ ଜେବଦୀଙ୍କ ଦୁଇ ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ନେଇ ଶୋକାକୁଳ ଓ ବ୍ୟଥିତ ହେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 ସେତେବେଳେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଭୋଗ କରିବା ପରି ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଶୋକାକୁଳ ହେଉଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏଠାରେ ରହି ମୋ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଜାଗିଥାଅ।”
Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଅଳ୍ପ ଦୂର ଆଗକୁ ଯାଇ ଉବୁଡ଼ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁ କରୁ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ମୋହର ପିତା, ଯଦି ହୋଇପାରେ, ତେବେ ଏହି ଦୁଃଖର ପାତ୍ର ମୋʼଠାରୁ ଦୂର ହେଉ; ତଥାପି ମୋହର ଇଚ୍ଛା ନୁହେଁ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭର ଇଚ୍ଛା।”
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt].
40 ଆଉ, ସେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିଦ୍ରିତ ଦେଖିଲେ ଓ ପିତରଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ମୋ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ହେଲେ ଜାଗି ପାରିଲ ନାହିଁ?
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 ପରୀକ୍ଷାରେ ଯେପରି ନ ପଡ଼, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଜାଗି ରହି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର; ଆତ୍ମା ଇଚ୍ଛୁକ ସତ୍ୟ, ମାତ୍ର ଶରୀର ଦୁର୍ବଳ।”
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.
42 ପୁଣି, ଥରେ ସେ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଥର ଯାଇ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରି କହିଲେ, “ହେ ମୋହର ପିତା, ପାନ ନ କଲେ ଏହି ପାତ୍ର ଯଦି ମୋʼଠାରୁ ଦୂର ହୋଇ ନ ପାରେ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଇଚ୍ଛା ସଫଳ ହେଉ।”
He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଆସି ପୁନର୍ବାର ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିଦ୍ରିତ ଦେଖିଲେ, କାରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଆଖି ମାଡ଼ିପଡ଼ୁଥିଲା।
And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ପୁଣି, ଥରେ ଯାଇ ଆଉ ଥରେ ସେହି କଥା କହି ତୃତୀୟ ଥର ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲେ।
And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45 ପରେ ସେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ଶୋଇ କରି ବିଶ୍ରାମ କର, ଦେଖ, ସେହି ସମୟ ସନ୍ନିକଟ ହେଲାଣି, ପୁଣି, ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ପାପୀମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହେଉଅଛନ୍ତି।
Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 ଉଠ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯିବା, ଦେଖ, ଯେ ମୋତେ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରୁଅଛି, ସେ ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ।”
Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
47 ସେ କଥା କହୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ, ଦେଖ, ଦ୍ୱାଦଶଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଯିହୂଦା ନାମକ ଜଣେ ଏବଂ ତାହା ସହିତ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପ୍ରେରିତ ବହୁସଂଖ୍ୟକ ଲୋକ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଓ ଯଷ୍ଟି ଧରି ଆସିଲେ।
And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 ଆଉ, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣକାରୀ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ସଙ୍କେତ ଦେଇ କହିଥିଲା, ମୁଁ ଯାହାଙ୍କୁ ଚୁମ୍ବନ କରିବି, ସେ ସେହି, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଧରିବ।
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 ଆଉ, ସେ ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି, ହେ ଗୁରୁ, ନମସ୍କାର, ଏହା କହି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବହୁତ ଚୁମ୍ବନ କଲା।
And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ବନ୍ଧୁ, ଯାହା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆସିଅଛ, ତାହା କର।” ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ହାତ ପକାଇ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଲେ।
And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
51 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ହାତ ବଢ଼ାଇ ଖଣ୍ଡା ବାହାର କଲେ ଏବଂ ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କର ଦାସକୁ ଆଘାତ କରି ତାହାର କାନ କାଟିପକାଇଲେ।
And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out [his] hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.
52 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭର ଖଡ୍ଗ ପୁଣି, ଥରେ ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନରେ ରଖ, କାରଣ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଧାରଣ କରନ୍ତି, ସେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବେ।
Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 ଅଥବା ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଅଣ ମନେ କରୁଅଛ ଯେ, ମୁଁ ମୋହର ପିତାଙ୍କୁ ବିନତି କରିପାରେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ସେ ଏହିକ୍ଷଣି ମୋ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦ୍ୱାଦଶ ବାହିନୀ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ଦୂତଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଦେବେ ନାହିଁ?
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 ତେବେ ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ଘଟିବ ବୋଲି ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ରର ବାକ୍ୟ କି ପ୍ରକାର ସଫଳ ହେବ?”
But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଲୋକସମୂହକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଡକାଇତ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବାହାରିବା ପରି ଖଣ୍ଡା ଓ ଠେଙ୍ଗା ନେଇ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଅଣ ମୋତେ ଧରିବାକୁ ଆସିଲ? ମୁଁ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ମନ୍ଦିରରେ ବସି ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉଥିଲି, କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଧରିଲ ନାହିଁ;
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
56 ମାତ୍ର ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ଯେପରି ସଫଳ ହୁଏ, ସେଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ଏସମସ୍ତ ଘଟିଅଛି।” ସେତେବେଳେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ପଳାଇଗଲେ।
But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57 ପରେ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଥିଲେ, ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କୟାଫା ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇଗଲେ; ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗ ଏକତ୍ର ହୋଇଥିଲେ।
And they that had laid hold on Jesus led [him] away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 କିନ୍ତୁ ପିତର ଦୂରରେ ରହି ମହାଯାଜକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗଲେ, ଆଉ ଶେଷରେ କଅଣ ଘଟିବ, ତାହା ଦେଖିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେ ଭିତରକୁ ଯାଇ ପଦାତିକମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ବସି ରହିଲେ।
But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
59 ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକମାନେ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ମହାସଭା ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ମିଥ୍ୟା ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଖୋଜିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ,
Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
60 ଆଉ ଅନେକ ମିଥ୍ୟା ସାକ୍ଷୀ ବାହାରିଲେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ସେମାନେ କିଛି ପାଇଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଶେଷରେ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ବାହାରି କହିଲେ,
But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, [yet] found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61 ଏହି ଲୋକଟା କହିଥିଲା, ମୁଁ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ତାହା ତିନି ଦିନ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୋଳି ଦେଇ ପାରେ।
And said, This [fellow] said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62 ସେଥିରେ ମହାଯାଜକ ଉଠି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କିଛି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଉ ନାହଁ? ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଏମାନେ ଏ ଯେଉଁ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଉଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା କଅଣ?
And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what [is it which] these witness against thee?
63 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ମୌନ ହୋଇ ରହିଲେ। ସେଥିରେ ମହାଯାଜକ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଜୀବନ୍ତ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଶପଥ ଦେଉଅଛୁ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ?
But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣ କହିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଆହୁରି ମୁଁ ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ଅଦ୍ୟାବଧି ଆପଣମାନେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ପରାକ୍ରମର ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱରେ ଉପବିଷ୍ଟ ଓ ଆକାଶର ମେଘମାଳାରେ ଆଗମନ କରିବା ଦେଖିବେ।”
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 ସେଥିରେ ମହାଯାଜକ ଆପଣା ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଚିରି କହିଲେ, ଏ ଈଶ୍ବର ନିନ୍ଦା କଲା, ସାକ୍ଷୀରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆଉ କଅଣ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ? ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ଆପଣମାନେ ଏବେ ହେଁ ଈଶ୍ବର ନିନ୍ଦା ଶୁଣିଲେ,
Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
66 ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କର ମତ କଅଣ? ଏଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ସେ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡର ଯୋଗ୍ୟ।
What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67 ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ମୁହଁରେ ଛେପ ପକାଇ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବିଧା ମାରିଲେ; ଆଉ କେହି କେହି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଚାପୁଡ଼ା ମାରି କହିଲେ,
Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
68 ରେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ, ତୁ ପରା ଭାବବାଦୀ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହ ତ, କିଏ ତୋତେ ମାଇଲା?
Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
69 ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ପିତର ବାହାରେ ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣରେ ବସିଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ଜଣେ ଦାସୀ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି କହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଗାଲିଲୀୟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଥିଲ।
Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
70 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରି କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଅଣ କହୁଅଛ, ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ।
But he denied before [them] all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
71 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଦାଣ୍ଡଦ୍ୱାରକୁ ବାହାରି ଯାଆନ୍ତେ ଆଉ ଜଣେ ଦାସୀ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ଏ ନାଜରିତୀୟ ଯୀଶୁ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଥିଲା।
And when he was gone out into the porch, another [maid] saw him, and said unto them that were there, This [fellow] was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
72 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଶପଥ ନେଇ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରି କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ସେ ଲୋକକୁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ।
And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
73 ଅଳ୍ପ କ୍ଷଣ ପରେ ପାଖରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ପିତରଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ କଥାରୁ ତ ଜଣାପଡ଼ୁଅଛି।
And after a while came unto [him] they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art [one] of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
74 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେଇ ରାଣ ପକାଇ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ମୁଁ ସେ ଲୋକକୁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ।
Then began he to curse and to swear, [saying], I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75 ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି କୁକୁଡ଼ା ରାବିଲା। ଏଥିରେ “କୁକୁଡ଼ା ରାବିବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ତିନି ଥର ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରିବ,” ଏହି ଯେଉଁ କଥା ଯୀଶୁ କହିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ପିତରଙ୍କ ମନରେ ପଡ଼ିଲା, ଆଉ ସେ ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ବ୍ୟାକୁଳ ହୋଇ ରୋଦନ କଲେ।
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
