ଲୂକ 6
1 ଥରେ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ସେ ଶସ୍ୟକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ଦେଇ ଯାଉଥିବା ସମୟରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ଶସ୍ୟର ଶିଁଷା ଛିଣ୍ଡାଇ ଛିଣ୍ଡାଇ ହାତରେ ମଳି ଖାଉଥିଲେ।
It happened that on a Sabbath he was going through the wheat-fields. His disciples were picking the ears and eating the wheat, rubbing it out with their hands.
2 କିନ୍ତୁ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେତେକ କହିଲେ, ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ଯାହା କରିବା ବିଧିସଙ୍ଗତ ନାହିଁ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି କରୁଅଛ?
And some of the Pharisees asked, "Why are you doing what it is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?"
3 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗୀମାନେ ଭୋକିଲା ଥିବା ସମୟରେ ସେ କଅଣ କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ସୁଦ୍ଧା କି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପଢ଼ି ନାହଁ?
"Have you never read," answered Jesus, "what David did when he and his followers were hungry?
4 ସେ କିପରି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି, ଯେଉଁ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗୀକୃତ ରୁଟି କେବଳ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କ ବିନା ଆଉ କାହାରି ଭୋଜନ କରିବା ବିଧିସଙ୍ଗତ ନୁହେଁ, ତାହା ନେଇ ଖାଇଥିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଆପଣା ସଙ୍ଗୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଇଥିଲେ।”
"How he entered into God’s house and took and ate the Presented Loaves, and gave some to his followers, loaves which none must eat but the priests?
5 ଆଉ, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ବିଶ୍ରାମବାରର ପ୍ରଭୁ ଅଟନ୍ତି।”
"THE SON OF MAN," he told them, "IS LORD EVEN OVER THE SABBATH."
6 ସେ ଆଉ ଏକ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ସମାଜଗୃହରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉଥିଲେ; ସେଠାରେ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ଥିଲା, ତାହାର ଡାହାଣ ହାତ ଶୁଖିଯାଇଥିଲା।
On another Sabbath he went into a synagogue and was teaching; and there was there a man whose right hand was withered.
7 ଆଉ, ସେ କେଜାଣି ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରନ୍ତି, ଏହା ଦେଖିବା ପାଇଁ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ କରି ରହିଲେ, ଯେପରି ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଭୁଲ୍ ପାଇ ପାରନ୍ତି।
Now the Scribes and Pharisees kept watching to see if he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might be able to bring on accusations to him.
8 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମନୋଭାବ ଜାଣି ପାରି, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକର ହାତ ଶୁଖିଯାଇଥିଲା, ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ମଝିରେ ଠିଆ ହୁଅ।” ପୁଣି, ସେ ଉଠି ଠିଆ ହେଲା।
He was all along aware of their thoughts; and he said to the man with the withered hand, "Rise, and stand there in the midst."
9 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରୁଅଛି, ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ କଅଣ କରିବା ବିଧିସଙ୍ଗତ? ଭଲ କରିବା ନା ମନ୍ଦ କରିବା? ଜୀବନ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବା ନା ବିନାଶ କରିବା?”
So he rose and stood. Then Jesus said to them. "I ask you whether it is lawful on the Sabbath Day to do good or to do harm? To save a life or to destroy it?"
10 ଆଉ, ସେ ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟିପାତ କରି ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭର ହାତ ବଢ଼ାଅ।” ସେଥିରେ ସେ ତାହା କଲା, ଆଉ ତାହାର ହାତ ପୁଣି, ଭଲ ହୋଇଗଲା।
Then he looked round about on them in anger, and said to him, "Stretch out your hand!"
11 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେମାନେ କ୍ରୋଧରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହେଲେ, ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କଅଣ କରିପାରନ୍ତି, ସେ ବିଷୟରେ ପରସ୍ପର କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
He did so; and his hand was restored. But they were filled with fury, and they began to talk over together what they could do to Jesus.
12 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ସେ ଦିନେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପର୍ବତକୁ ବାହାରିଯାଇ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁ କରୁ ସାରା ରାତ୍ରି ବିତାଇଲେ।
It happened about that time that he went out into the mountain to pray. He continued all night in prayer to God.
13 ସକାଳ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ପାଖକୁ ଡାକି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ବାର ଜଣକୁ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ; ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରେରିତ ନାମ ଦେଲେ,
And when day dawned he called his disciples, and from among them he selected twelve, whom also he called Apostles missionaries.
14 ସେମାନେ ଶିମୋନ, ଯାହାକୁ ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପିତର ନାମ ଦେଲେ, ଆଉ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଭାଇ ଆନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ, ଯାକୁବ ଓ ଯୋହନ, ଫିଲିପ୍ପ ଓ ବାର୍ଥଲମୀ,
They were Simon, whom he had also called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John;
15 ମାଥିଉ ଓ ଥୋମା, ଆଲଫିଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯାକୁବ ଓ ଶିମୋନ, ଯାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ ବୋଲି କହନ୍ତି,
Philip and Bartholomew; Mathew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon called the Zealot;
16 ଯାକୁବଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହୂଦା ଓ ଇଷ୍କାରିୟୋତୀୟ ଯିହୂଦା, ଯେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲା।
Jude the son of James, and Judas Iscariot who was the traitor.
17 ଆଉ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଗୋଟିଏ ସମତଳ ଭୂମିରେ ଠିଆ ହେଲେ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅନେକ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ଯିହୂଦିୟା ପ୍ରଦେଶ, ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ଆଉ ସୋର ଓ ସୀଦୋନର ଉପକୂଳରୁ ଅନେକେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ;
With these he came down till he reached a level place, where there was a great crowd of his disciples and a great many people from all Judea and Jerusalem and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon. These came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases.
18 ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଓ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ରୋଗରୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେବାକୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଅଶୁଚି ଆତ୍ମାଗୁଡ଼ାକ ଦ୍ୱାରା କଷ୍ଟ ପାଉଥିଲେ, ସେମାନେ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରାଗଲେ;
Those who were tormented by unclean spirits were healed also.
19 ପୁଣି, ଲୋକସମୂହ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଛୁଇଁବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଥିଲେ, କାରଣ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଶକ୍ତି ବାହାରି ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରୁଥିଲା।
The whole crowd were trying to touch him, because power emanated from him and cured them all.
20 ସେ ସମୟରେ ସେ ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି କହିଲେ, “ଦୀନହୀନ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଧନ୍ୟ, କାରଣ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର।
Then raising his eyes upon his disciples he began to say to them. "Blessed are you poor, For the kingdom of God is yours.
21 ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ କ୍ଷୁଧିତ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଧନ୍ୟ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପରିତୃପ୍ତ ହେବ। ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ରୋଦନ କରୁଅଛ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଧନ୍ୟ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ହାସ୍ୟ କରିବ।
"Blessed are you who are hungry now, For you shall be filled. "Blessed are you who are wailing now, For you shall laugh.
22 ଲୋକେ ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘୃଣା କରନ୍ତି ଓ ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କ ହେତୁ ଅଲଗା କରନ୍ତି ପୁଣି, ନିନ୍ଦା କରନ୍ତି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନାମକୁ ମନ୍ଦ ବୋଲି ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଧନ୍ୟ।
"Blessed are you when men shall hate you, And excommunicate you and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil because of the Son of man.
23 ସେହି ଦିନ ଆନନ୍ଦରେ ନୃତ୍ୟ କର, କାରଣ ଦେଖ, ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୁରସ୍କାର ପ୍ରଚୁର; ଆଉ ସେହିପରି ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃ-ପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କରୁଥିଲେ।”
"Rejoice in that day and exult, For your reward is great in heaven; For even so did their fathers to the prophets.
24 “କିନ୍ତୁ ହାୟ, ଦଣ୍ଡର ପାତ୍ର ଧନୀ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସୁଖ ଭୋଗ କରିଅଛ।
"But woe to you rich! For you already have received your consolation.
25 ହାୟ, ଦଣ୍ଡର ପାତ୍ର ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ପରିତୃପ୍ତ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ୍ଷୁଧିତ ହେବ। ହାୟ, ଦଣ୍ଡର ପାତ୍ର ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ହାସ୍ୟ କରୁଅଛ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦୁଃଖ ଓ ରୋଦନ କରିବ।
"Woe unto you who are full now! For you shall suffer hunger. "Woe to you who are laughing now! For you shall wail and weep.
26 ଯେତେବେଳେ ଲୋକ ସମସ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରନ୍ତି, ସେତେବେଳେ ହାୟ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦଣ୍ଡର ପାତ୍ର; ସେହିପରି ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃ-ପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଭଣ୍ଡ ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କରୁଥିଲେ।
"Woe to you when all men shall speak well of you! For even so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 କିନ୍ତୁ ଶୁଣୁଅଛ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କର; ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘୃଣା କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ କର;
"But to you who are listening to me I say, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦିଅନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ କର; ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅପବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର।
Bless those who curse you, pray for those who calumniate you.
29 ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଗାଲରେ ଚାପୁଡ଼ା ମାରେ, ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ଅନ୍ୟ ଗାଲ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଖାଇଦିଅ; ଆଉ, ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ବସ୍ତ୍ର ନେଇଯାଏ, ତାହାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅଙ୍ଗରଖା ମଧ୍ୟ ନେବାକୁ ମନା କର ନାହିଁ।
To him who gives you a blow on the jaw Turn the other jaw also; And from him who is robbing you of your cloak Withhold not your coat also.
30 ଯେ କେହି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ମାଗେ, ତାହାକୁ ଦିଅ; ଆଉ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ନେଇଯାଏ, ତାହାଠାରୁ ତାହା ପୁନର୍ବାର ଦାବି କର ନାହିଁ।
Give to every one who asks you; And do not demand your goods back from him who is taking them away.
31 ଲୋକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଯେପ୍ରକାର ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତୁ ବୋଲି ଇଚ୍ଛା କର, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର କର।
And as you would like men to do to you, So do you also to them.
32 ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପାଇବ? କାରଣ ପାପୀମାନେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରେମକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରନ୍ତି।
"If you love those who love you what credit is it to you? Why even sinners love those who love them.
33 ଆଉ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ କରନ୍ତି, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ କର, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପାଇବ? କାରଣ ପାପୀମାନେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ତାହା କରନ୍ତି।
"And if you are kind to those who are kind to you, what credit is it to you? Even sinners do the same.
34 ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପାଇବାର ଆଶା ଥାଏ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଋଣ ଦେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପାଇବ? ପାପୀମାନେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ସମାନ ପରିମାଣରେ ପରିଶୋଧ ପାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପାପୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଋଣ ଦିଅନ୍ତି।
"And if you lend to those from whom you are hoping to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, so as to get as much back.
35 ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କର ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ କର, ପୁଣି, ପରିଶୋଧ ନେବାର ଆଶା ନ ରଖି ଋଣ ଦିଅ; ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୁରସ୍କାର ପ୍ରଚୁର ହେବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମହାନ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ ହେବ, କାରଣ ସେ ଅକୃତଜ୍ଞ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟାଳୁ ଅଟନ୍ତି।
"But you must love even your enemies and be kind to them, And lend, despairing of no man. Then your reward will be great, And you will be the sons of the Most High; For he is kind even to the ungrateful and to the evil.
36 ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗସ୍ଥ ପିତା ଯେପରି ଦୟାଳୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେହିପରି ଦୟାଳୁ ହୁଅ।”
"Do you therefore be merciful, As your Father is merciful.
37 “ପୁଣି, ବିଚାର କର ନାହିଁ, ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିଚାରିତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ; ଦୋଷୀ କର ନାହିଁ, ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦୋଷୀକୃତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ। କ୍ଷମା କର, ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷମା କରାଯିବ;
"Do not judge, and you shall not be judged; Do not condemn, and you shall not be condemned;
38 ଦାନ କର, ତାହାହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦାନ ଦିଆଯିବ; ଲୋକେ ମାଣକୁ ପୁରା କରି ତାହାକୁ ଚାପି ହଲାଇ ଉଛୁଳାଇ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଅଣ୍ଟିରେ ଦେବେ; କାରଣ ଯେଉଁ ମାପରେ ମାପ କର, ସେହି ମାପରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୁଣି ମପାଯିବ।
"Pardon, and you shall be pardoned; Give, and gifts shall be given to you; Full measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they shall pour into your bosom. For with what measure you measure, they will measure back to you."
39 ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଦୃଷ୍ଟାନ୍ତ ମଧ୍ୟ କହିଲେ, ଅନ୍ଧ କଅଣ ଅନ୍ଧକୁ ବାଟ କଢ଼ାଇପାରେ? ସେମାନେ କଅଣ ଉଭୟେ ଗାତରେ ପଡ଼ିବେ ନାହିଁ?
He also told them a parable. "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?
40 ଶିଷ୍ୟ ଗୁରୁଠାରୁ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ନୁହେଁ; କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ସିଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ଆପଣା ଗୁରୁଙ୍କ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ହେବ।
"There is no disciple who is above his master; But every one when he is completely trained will be like his master.
41 ଆଉ, କାହିଁକି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭାଇର ଆଖିରେ ଥିବା କୁଟାଟିକକ ଦେଖୁଅଛ, କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିଜ ଆଖିରେ ଯେଉଁ କଡ଼ିକାଠ ଅଛି, ତାହା ଭାବି ଦେଖୁ ନାହଁ?
"And why do you look at the splinter that is in your brother’s eye, but never consider the beam that is in your own eye?
42 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଆଖିରେ ଥିବା କଡ଼ିକାଠ ନ ଦେଖି କିପରି ନିଜ ଭାଇ କି କହିପାର, ଭାଇ, ଆସ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଆଖିରେ ଥିବା କୁଟାଟିକକ ବାହାର କରିଦେବି? କପଟୀ, ଆଗେ ଆପଣା ଆଖିରୁ କଡ଼ିକାଠ ବାହାର କରିପକାଅ, ତାହା ପରେ ନିଜ ଭାଇର ଆଖିରେ ଥିବା କୁଟାଟିକକ ବାହାର କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ରୂପେ ଦେଖି ପାରିବ।”
"Or how can you say to your brother. "Brother, allow me to pull that splinter out of your eye," when you do not see the beam in your own eye? Hypocrite! Take out first the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the splinter from your brother’s eye.
43 “କାରଣ ଏପରି କୌଣସି ଭଲ ଗଛ ନାହିଁ, ଯାହାକି ମନ୍ଦ ଫଳ ଫଳେ, ଅନ୍ୟ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଏପରି କୌଣସି ମନ୍ଦ ଗଛ ନାହିଁ, ଯାହାକି ଭଲ ଫଳ ଫଳେ।
"For there is not good tree which bears worthless fruit, nor again any worthless tree which bears good fruit; for each tree is known by its own fruit.
44 କାରଣ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଗଛ ନିଜର ଫଳ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଚିହ୍ନାଯାଏ; କଣ୍ଟାଗଛରୁ ତ ଲୋକମାନେ ଡିମ୍ବିରି ତୋଳନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, କିମ୍ବା କଣ୍ଟାଗଛରୁ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଫଳ ତୋଳନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
"You do not gather figs from thorns, and grapes are not plucked from a bramble-bush.
45 ଉତ୍ତମ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ହୃଦୟରୂପ ଉତ୍ତମ ଭଣ୍ଡାରରୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ପଦାର୍ଥ ବାହାର କରେ, ପୁଣି, ମନ୍ଦ ଲୋକ ମନ୍ଦ ଭଣ୍ଡାରରୁ ମନ୍ଦ ପଦାର୍ଥ ବାହାର କରେ; କାରଣ ହୃଦୟର ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣତାରୁ ମୁଖ କଥା କହେ।
"The good man out of the good treasure-house of his heart brings forth good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure-house of his heart brings forth evil; for the mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart.
46 ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ମୋତେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ପ୍ରଭୁ ବୋଲି କହୁଅଛ, ମାତ୍ର ମୋହର ବାକ୍ୟ ପାଳନ କରୁ ନାହଁ?
"And why are you calling me Lord, Lord, and not doing what I tell you?
47 ଯେ କେହି ମୋ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ମୋହର କଥା ଶୁଣି ସେହିସବୁ ପାଳନ କରେ, ସେ କାହା ପରି, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବି।
"I will show whom the man that comes to me, and listens to my works, and does them, is like.
48 ସେ ଏପରି ଜଣେ ଘର ନିର୍ମାଣକାରୀ ଲୋକ ପରି, ଯେ ଗଭୀର ଗାତ ଖୋଳି ମୂଳଦୁଆ ପଥର ଉପରେ ବସାଇଲେ; ଆଉ, ବଢ଼ି ହୁଅନ୍ତେ ସୁଅ ସେହି ଘରକୁ ପ୍ରବଳ ଭାବରେ ଧକ୍କା ମାରିଲା, କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହା ହଲାଇ ପାରିଲା ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ତାହା ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା।
"He is like a man who is building a house who digged and went deep and laid a foundation upon rock. And, when a flood came, the torrent dashed against that house, but could not move, because it had been founded upon rock.
49 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେ ଶୁଣି ପାଳନ କରେ ନାହିଁ, ସେ ମୂଳଦୁଆ ପଥର ଉପରେ ନ ବସାଇ ମାଟି ଉପରେ ଘର ନିର୍ମାଣକାରୀ ଲୋକ ପରି; ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ସେହି ଘର ଉପରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ଭାବରେ ଧକ୍କା ମାରିବାରୁ ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି ତାହା ପଡ଼ିଗଲା ଓ ତାହାର ବିନାଶ ଭୟଙ୍କର ହେଲା।”
"But he who listens but does not do, is like a man who built a house upon the soil, without foundations, against which the torrent burst, and at once it fell in, and the ruin of that house was great."
