ଲୂକ 23
1 ପରେ ସଭାରେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଉଠି ପୀଲାତଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଘେନିଗଲେ।
And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him to Pilate.
2 ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦେଖିଲୁ, ଏ ଲୋକଟା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଜାତିକୁ ରାଜଦ୍ରୋହ କରୁଅଛି ଏବଂ କାଇସରଙ୍କୁ କର ଦେବା ନିଷେଧ କରୁଅଛି ଓ ଆପଣାକୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ, ରାଜା ବୋଲି କହୁଅଛି।
And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this [man] perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cesar, saying, that he himself is Christ a king.
3 ଏଥିରେ ପୀଲାତ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କର ରାଜା? ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ଆପଣ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି।”
And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest [it].
4 ଏଥିରେ ପୀଲାତ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଲୋକସମୂହକୁ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ଲୋକଠାରେ କୌଣସି ଦୋଷ ପାଉ ନାହୁଁ।
Then said Pilate to the chief priests, and [to] the people, I find no fault in this man.
5 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେମାନେ ଆହୁରି ଦୃଢ଼ରୂପେ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ଏ ତ ଗାଲିଲୀ ପ୍ରଦେଶଠାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରି ସମଗ୍ର ଯିହୂଦିୟା ପ୍ରଦେଶରେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଇ ଲୋକସାଧାରଣଙ୍କୁ ମତାଉଅଛି।
And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.
6 କିନ୍ତୁ ପୀଲାତ ଏହା ଶୁଣି ପଚାରିଲେ, ଏ ଲୋକଟା କଅଣ ଜଣେ ଗାଲିଲୀୟ?
When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man was a Galilean.
7 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଯେ ହେରୋଦଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାର ଅଧୀନରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା ଜ୍ଞାତ ହୋଇ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ହେରୋଦଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇଦେଲେ, ଯେଣୁ ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହି ସମୟରେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ସହରରେ ଥିଲେ।
And as soon as he knew that he belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself was also at Jerusalem at that time.
8 ହେରୋଦ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆନନ୍ଦିତ ହେଲେ, କାରଣ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ଶୁଣିଥିବାରୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବହୁକାଳରୁ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଥିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା କୌଣସି ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟକର୍ମ ସାଧିତ ହେବା ଦେଖିବାକୁ ଆଶା କରୁଥିଲେ।
And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he had been for a long time, desirous to see him, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to see some miracle done by him.
9 ଏଣୁ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଅନେକ କଥା ପଚାରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କୌଣସି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ।
Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.
10 ଆଉ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତୀବ୍ର ଭାବରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରୁଥିଲେ।
And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.
11 ପୁଣି, ହେରୋଦ ଆପଣା ସୈନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରି ପରିହାସପୂର୍ବକ ଚାକଚକ୍ୟ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପିନ୍ଧାଇ ପୀଲାତଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ପଠାଇଦେଲେ।
And Herod with his troops set him at naught, and mocked [him], and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
12 ସେହି ଦିନ ହେରୋଦ ଓ ପୀଲାତ ପରସ୍ପର ବନ୍ଧୁ ହେଲେ; ଏଥିପୂର୍ବେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପରସ୍ପର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଶତ୍ରୁତା ଥିଲା।
And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together; for before they were at enmity between themselves.
13 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ପୀଲାତ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ, ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଓ ଜନସାଧାରଣଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି ଏକତ୍ର କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ,
And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests, and the rulers, and the people,
14 ଏ ଲୋକସାଧାରଣଙ୍କୁ ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ କରୁଅଛି ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହାକୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିଥିଲ; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଏହାକୁ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ କରି, ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେ ସମସ୍ତ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରୁଅଛ, ସେପରି କୌଣସି ଦୋଷ ଏହାଠାରେ ପାଇଲୁ ନାହିଁ।
Said to them, Ye have brought this man to me, as one that perverteth the people: and behold, I, having examined [him] before you, have found no fault in this man, touching those things of which ye accuse him;
15 ହେରୋଦ ମଧ୍ୟ ପାଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି କାରଣ ସେ ତାହାକୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପୁଣି ପଠାଇଦେଲେ; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଏହି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ କୌଣସି କର୍ମ କରି ନାହିଁ;
No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and lo, nothing worthy of death is done to him:
16 ଅତଏବ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହାକୁ ଶାସ୍ତି ଦେଇ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଦେବୁ
I will therefore chastise him, and release [him].
17 [ପର୍ବ ସମୟରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜଣେ ବନ୍ଦୀକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବାକୁ ହେଉଥିଲା।]
(For of necessity he must release one to them at the feast.)
18 ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଏକତ୍ର ଚିତ୍କାର କରି କହିଲେ, ଏହାକୁ ବଧ କର, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବାରବ୍ବାକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କର।
And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this [man], and release to us Barabbas:
19 ଏହି ବାରବ୍ବା ନଗରରେ ଘଟିଥିବା କୌଣସି ବିପ୍ଳବ ଯୋଗୁଁ ଓ ନରହତ୍ୟା ହେତୁ କାରାଗାରରେ ପକାଯାଇଥିଲା।
(Who, for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)
20 ମାତ୍ର ପୀଲାତ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ବୁଝାଇଲେ।
Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them.
21 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେମାନେ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ତାହାକୁ କ୍ରୁଶରେ ଚଢ଼ାଅ, କ୍ରୁଶରେ ଚଢ଼ାଅ।
But they cried, saying, Crucify, crucify him.
22 ପୁଣି, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୃତୀୟ ଥର କହିଲେ, କାହିଁକି, ସେ କି ଦୋଷ କରିଅଛି? ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଠାରେ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡର କୌଣସି ଦୋଷ ପାଇ ନାହୁଁ; ଅତଏବ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାକୁ ଶାସ୍ତି ଦେଇ ଛାଡ଼ିଦେବା।
And he said to them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him; I will therefore chastise him, and let [him] go.
23 ମାତ୍ର ସେ କ୍ରୁଶରେ ଚଢ଼ାଯାଉ ବୋଲି ଦାବି କରି ସେମାନେ ବଡ଼ ପାଟିରେ ଜିଦ୍ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କୋଳାହଳର ଜୟ ହେଲା।
And they were urgent with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified: and the voices of them, and of the chief priests prevailed.
24 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଦାବି ଅନୁସାରେ କରାଯାଉ ବୋଲି ପୀଲାତ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ;
And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
25 କିନ୍ତୁ ବିପ୍ଳବ ଓ ନରହତ୍ୟା ହେତୁ କାରାଗାରରେ ପକାଯାଇଥିବା ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେମାନେ ଦାବି କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହାକୁ ସେ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଦେଲେ, ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛାର ଅଧୀନରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲେ।
And he released to them him that for sedition and murder had been cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
26 ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଘେନିଯିବା ସମୟରେ ପଲ୍ଲୀରୁ ଆସୁଥିବା ଶିମୋନ ନାମକ ଜଣେ କୂରୀଣୀୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଧରି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ କ୍ରୁଶ ବହିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହାଙ୍କ କାନ୍ଧରେ ତାହା ଥୋଇଲେ।
And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear [it] after Jesus.
27 ପୁଣି, ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବକ୍ଷାଘାତ କରି ବିଳାପ କରୁଥିବା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ମହାଜନତା ତାହାଙ୍କର ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍ଗମନ କରୁଥିଲେ।
And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, who also bewailed and lamented him.
28 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଆଡ଼କୁ ବୁଲିପଡ଼ି କହିଲେ, “ଗୋ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ସହରର କନ୍ୟାମାନେ, ମୋʼ ନିମନ୍ତେ ରୋଦନ କର ନାହିଁ, ବରଂ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଓ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ରୋଦନ କର;
But Jesus turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
29 କାରଣ ଦେଖ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବନ୍ଧ୍ୟା, ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ କେବେ ହେଁ ଗର୍ଭବତୀ ହୋଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି ଓ ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ କରାଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଲୋକେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଧନ୍ୟ ଧନ୍ୟ ବୋଲି କହିବେ ଏପରି ସମୟ ଆସୁଅଛି।
For behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed [are] the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts which never nourished infants.
30 ସେତେବେଳେ ‘ଲୋକେ ପର୍ବତମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିବେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପଡ଼,’ ‘ଆଉ ଉପପର୍ବତମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିବେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘୋଡ଼ାଇ ପକାଅ।’
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 କାରଣ ଲୋକେ ଯଦି ସତେଜ ବୃକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରତି ଏହା କରନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ଶୁଷ୍କ ବୃକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରତି କଅଣ ନ ଘଟିବ?”
For if they do these things in a green tree, what will be done in the dry?
32 ପୁଣି, ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ଭୋଗିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମକାରୀ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ନିଆଯାଉଥିଲେ।
And two others, [who were] malefactors, were led with him to be put to death.
33 ଆଉ ସେମାନେ କପାଳ ନାମକ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ସେଠାରେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କ୍ରୁଶରେ ଚଢ଼ାଇଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣକୁ ଦକ୍ଷିଣରେ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣକୁ ବାମରେ କ୍ରୁଶରେ ଚଢ଼ାଇଲେ।
And when they had come to the place which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors; one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 ସେତେବେଳେ ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, “ପିତଃ, ଏମାନଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷମା କର, କାରଣ ଏମାନେ କଅଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।” ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବସ୍ତ୍ରସବୁ ଭାଗ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗୁଲିବାଣ୍ଟ କଲେ।
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them: for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
35 ପୁଣି, ଲୋକମାନେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ଦେଖୁଥିଲେ। ଆଉ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବିଦୃପ କରି କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ସେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କଲା; ସେ ଯଦି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମନୋନୀତ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ, ତେବେ ନିଜକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରୁ।
And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided [him], saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he is Christ the chosen of God.
36 ପୁଣି, ସୈନ୍ୟମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ଅମ୍ଳରସ ଯାଚି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପରିହାସ କରି କହିଲେ,
And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37 ତୁ ଯଦି ଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କର ରାଜା, ତାହାହେଲେ ନିଜକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କର।
And saying, If thou art the King of the Jews, save thyself.
38 ପୁଣି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱରେ ଏହି ଲିପି ମଧ୍ୟ ଲେଖା ଥିଲା, “ଏ ଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କର ରାଜା।”
And a superscription also was written over him, in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 ଆଉ କ୍ରୁଶରେ ଚଢ଼ାଯାଇଥିବା ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ନିନ୍ଦା କରି କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା, ତୁ କଅଣ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ନୋହୁଁ? ନିଜକୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କର।
And one of the malefactors, who were hanged, railed on him, saying, If thou art Christ, save thyself and us.
40 କିନ୍ତୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣକ ତାହାକୁ ଧମକ ଦେଇ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲା, ତୁ ସମାନ ଦଣ୍ଡ ତ ପାଉଅଛୁ, ତୁ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ କଅଣ ଭୟ ମଧ୍ୟ କରୁ ନାହୁଁ?
But the other answering, rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସିନା ନ୍ୟାୟଭାବରେ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଭୋଗୁଅଛୁ, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ କର୍ମର ସମୁଚିତ ଫଳ ପାଉଅଛୁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କୌଣସି ଦୋଷ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି।
And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 ପୁଣି, ସେ କହିଲା, ହେ ଯୀଶୁ, ଆପଣ ନିଜ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ ମୋତେ ସ୍ମରଣ କରିବେ।
And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋହର ସହିତ ପାରଦୀଶରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବ।”
And Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, This day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
44 ସେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରାୟ ବାର ଘଣ୍ଟା ସମୟ ହୋଇଥିଲା, ଆଉ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟର କିରଣ ନିସ୍ତେଜ ହେବାରୁ ତିନି ଘଣ୍ଟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦେଶଯାକ ଅନ୍ଧକାର ଘୋଟିଗଲା,
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
45 ପୁଣି, ମନ୍ଦିରର ବିଚ୍ଛେଦବସ୍ତ୍ର ମଝିରୁ ଚିରିଗଲା।
And the sun was darkened, and the vail of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, “ହେ ପିତା, ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରେ ମୁଁ ଆପଣାର ଆତ୍ମା ସମର୍ପଣ କରୁଅଛି।” ଏହା କହି ସେ ପ୍ରାଣତ୍ୟାଗ କଲେ।
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he expired.
47 ଶତ-ସେନାପତି ଏହି ଘଟଣା ଦେଖି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଗୌରବ କରି କହିଲେ, ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଏ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଧାର୍ମିକ ଥିଲେ।
Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
48 ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକସମୂହ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହୋଇଥିଲେ, ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ସେହିସବୁ ଘଟଣା ଦେଖି ବକ୍ଷାଘାତ କରୁ କରୁ ବାହୁଡ଼ି ଯିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49 କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ପରିଚିତ ସମସ୍ତେ ଓ ଗାଲିଲୀରୁ ଏକତ୍ର ମିଳି ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଆସିଥିବା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକମାନେ ଦୂରରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ଏହିସବୁ ଦେଖୁଥିଲେ।
And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off beholding these things.
50 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଯିହୂଦିୟା ପ୍ରଦେଶରେ ହାରାମାଥୀୟା ନଗରର ଯୋଷେଫ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କର ମହାସଭାର ସଭ୍ୟ ଥିଲେ; ସେ ଜଣେ ଉତ୍ତମ ଓ ଧାର୍ମିକ ଲୋକ,
And behold, [there was] a man named Joseph, a counselor: [and he was] a good man, and a just:
51 ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଓ କର୍ମରେ ସମ୍ମତ ହୋଇ ନ ଥିଲେ ପୁଣି, ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟର ଅପେକ୍ଷାରେ ଥିଲେ।
(The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them) [he was] of Arimathea, a city of the Jews; who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 ସେ ପୀଲାତଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଶରୀର ମାଗିଲେ,
This [man] went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 ପୁଣି, ତାହା ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଆଣି ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ବସ୍ତ୍ରରେ ଗୁଡ଼ାଇ, ଯହିଁରେ କେହି କେବେ ରଖାଯାଇ ନ ଥିଲା, ପାହାଡ଼ରେ ଖୋଳା ହୋଇଥିବା ଏପରି ଗୋଟିଏ ସମାଧି-ସ୍ଥାନରେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଥୋଇଲେ।
And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulcher that was hewn in stone, in which man was never before laid.
54 ସେହି ଦିନ ଆୟୋଜନ ଦିନ ଥିଲା, ପୁଣି, ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ନିକଟ ହୋଇ ଆସୁଥିଲା
And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 ଆଉ ଗାଲିଲୀରୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆସିଥିବା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକମାନେ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଯାଇ ସମାଧି ସ୍ଥଳ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶରୀର କିପରି ରଖାଗଲା, ତାହା ଦେଖିଲେ,
And the women also, who came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulcher, and how his body was laid.
56 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ବାହୁଡ଼ିଯାଇ ସୁଗନ୍ଧିଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଓ ତୈଳ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କଲେ।
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested on the sabbath, according to the commandment.
