ଲୂକ 16
1 ଯୀଶୁ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ କହିଲେ, “ଜଣେ ଧନୀ ଲୋକ ଥିଲେ; ତାହାଙ୍କର ଜଣେ ବେବର୍ତ୍ତା ଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଅଯଥା ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ କରିଦେଉଅଛି ବୋଲି ତାହା ବିଷୟରେ ଶୁଣି ସେ ତାହାକୁ ଡାକି କହିଲେ,
He said, likewise, to his disciples, A certain rich man had a steward, who was accused to him of wasting his estate.
2 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିଷୟରେ ଏ କି କଥା ଶୁଣୁଅଛି? ତୁମ୍ଭ ବେବର୍ତ୍ତା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟର ହିସାବ ଦିଅ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆଉ ବେବର୍ତ୍ତା ହୋଇ ରହି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।
Having, therefore, called him, he said, What is this that I hear of you? Render an account of your management, for you shall be steward no longer.
3 ସେଥିରେ ସେହି ବେବର୍ତ୍ତା ମନେ ମନେ କହିଲା, କଅଣ କରିବି? ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁ ତ ମୋʼଠାରୁ ବେବର୍ତ୍ତାପଦ ଛଡ଼ାଇ ନେଉଅଛନ୍ତି। ମାଟି ହାଣିବାକୁ ମୋହର ବଳ ନାହିଁ, ଭିକ ମାଗିବାକୁ ମୋତେ ଲାଜ ଲାଗୁଅଛି।
And the steward said within himself, What shall I do? My master takes from me the stewardship; I can not dig, and am ashamed to beg.
4 ମୁଁ ବେବର୍ତ୍ତାପଦରୁ ବାହାରିବା ପରେ ଲୋକ ଯେପରି ମୋତେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଗୃହରେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ କଅଣ କରିବି, ତାହା ବୁଝିଲିଣି।
I am resolved what to do, that when I am discarded, there may be some who will receive me into their houses.
5 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଖାତକକୁ ପାଖକୁ ଡାକି ପ୍ରଥମ ଜଣକୁ କହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର କେତେ ଧାର ନେଇଅଛ? ସେ କହିଲା, ଶହେ ମହଣ ତୈଳ।
Having, therefore, sent severally for all his master's debtors, he asked one, How much do you owe my master?
6 ସେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭର ରସିଦ ନେଇ ଶୀଘ୍ର ବସି ପଚାଶ ବୋଲି ଲେଖ।
He answered, A hundred baths of oil. Take back your bill, said the steward, sit down directly, and write fifty.
7 ତାହା ପରେ ସେ ଆଉ ଜଣକୁ କହିଲା, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ କେତେ ଧାର ନେଇଅଛ?’ ସେ କହିଲା, ‘ଶହେ ଭରଣ ଗହମ।’ ସେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲା, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭର ରସିଦ ନେଇ ଅଶୀ ବୋଲି ଲେଖ।’
Then he asked another, How much do you owe? He answered, A hundred homers of wheat. Take back your bill, said he, and write eighty.
8 ସେହି ଅବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ବେବର୍ତ୍ତା ବୁଦ୍ଧି ସହିତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଥିବାରୁ ପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାର ପ୍ରଶଂସା କଲେ; ଯେଣୁ ଏହି ଯୁଗର ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିଜ ଜାତି ପକ୍ଷରେ ଆଲୋକର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ। (aiōn g165)
The master commended the prudence of the unjust steward; for the children of this world are more prudent in conducting their affairs, than the children of light. (aiōn g165)
9 ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ଅଧର୍ମ ଧନରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବନ୍ଧୁ ଲାଭ କର, ଯେପରି ତାହା ଶେଷ ହେଲେ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିତ୍ୟସ୍ଥାୟୀ ବାସସ୍ଥାନରେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବେ। (aiōnios g166)
Therefore, I say to you, with the deceitful riches procure to yourself friends, who, after your discharge, may receive you into the eternal mansion. (aiōnios g166)
10 ଯେ ଅତି ଅଳ୍ପ ବିଷୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ, ସେ ବହୁତ ବିଷୟରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ଅଟେ, ପୁଣି, ଯେ ଅତି ଅଳ୍ପ ବିଷୟରେ ଅବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ସେ ବହୁତ ବିଷୟରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ।
Whoso is faithful in little is faithful also in much: and whoso is unjust in little, is unjust also in much.
11 ଅତଏବ, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅଧର୍ମ ଧନରେ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ହୋଇ ନାହଁ, ତେବେ କିଏ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରି ସତ୍ୟ ଧନ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବ?
If, therefore, you have not been honest in the deceitful, who will intrust you with the true riches?
12 ଆଉ, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପରର ବିଷୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ହୋଇ ନାହଁ, ତେବେ କିଏ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ନିଜ ବିଷୟ ଦେବ?
And if you have been unfaithful managers for another, who will give you anything to manage for yourselves?
13 କୌଣସି ଦାସ ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସେବା କରିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ସେ ଜଣକୁ ଘୃଣା କରିବ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣକୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରିବ, ଅଥବା ଜଣକ ପ୍ରତି ଆସକ୍ତ ହେବ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣକୁ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରିବ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ବର ଓ ଧନ ଉଭୟର ଦାସ ହୋଇପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।”
A servant can not serve two masters: for either he will hate one, and love the other; or, at least, will attend one, and neglect the other. You can not serve God and mammon.
14 ଏହିସବୁ କଥା ଶୁଣି ଧନଲୋଭୀ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପରିହାସ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
When the Pharisees, who loved money, heard all these things, they ridiculed him.
15 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଯେଉଁମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜକୁ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ବୋଲି ଦେଖାନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର ଲୋକ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଈଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ହୃଦୟ ଜାଣନ୍ତି; କାରଣ ଯାହା ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଉଚ୍ଚୀକୃତ, ତାହା ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଘୃଣିତ।
But he said to them, As for you, you make yourselves pass upon men for righteous, but God knows your hearts; for that which is admired of men is abhorred of God.
16 ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଓ ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ଯୋହନଙ୍କ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରଚଳିତ ଥିଲା; ସେହି ସମୟଠାରୁ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟର ସୁସମାଚାର ପ୍ରଚାର ହେଉଅଛି, ଆଉ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ପରାକ୍ରମ ପୂର୍ବକ ସେଥିରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।
You had the law and the prophets till the coming of John, since whose time, the kingdom of God is announced, and every occupant enters it by force.
17 କିନ୍ତୁ ଇଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ଏକ ବିନ୍ଦୁ ଲୋପ ପାଇବା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବରଂ ଆକାଶ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀ ଲୋପ ପାଇବା ସହଜ।
But sooner shall heaven and earth perish, than one tittle of the law shall fail.
18 ଯେ କେହି ଆପଣା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ଅନ୍ୟକୁ ବିବାହ କରେ, ସେ ବ୍ୟଭିଚାର କରେ; ପୁଣି, ଯେ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରାଯାଇଥିବା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ବିବାହ କରେ, ସେ ବ୍ୟଭିଚାର କରେ।”
Whoever divorces his wife, and takes another, commits adultery; and whoever marries the divorced woman, commits adultery.
19 “ଜଣେ ଧନୀ ଲୋକ ଥିଲା, ସେ କୃଷ୍ଣଲୋହିତ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣର ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପିନ୍ଧି ମହା ଆଡ଼ମ୍ବରରେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ଆମୋଦ ପ୍ରମୋଦ କରୁଥିଲା;
There was a certain rich man, that wore purple and fine linen, and feasted splendidly every day.
20 କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାର ଫାଟକ ପାଖରେ ଲାଜାର ବୋଲି ଜଣେ ଭିକାରୀ ପଡ଼ି ରହିଥିଲା,
There was also a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, that was laid at his gate,
21 ତାର ଦେହରେ ଘାଆ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି ହୋଇଥିଲା; ସେ ସେହି ଧନୀ ଲୋକର ମେଜରୁ ପଡ଼ିବା ଅଇଁଣ୍ଠାରୁ କିଛି ଖାଇ ପେଟ ପୁରାଇବାକୁ ଆଶା କରୁଥିଲା; ଆଉ କୁକୁରଗୁଡ଼ାକ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଆସି ତାହାର ଘାଆ ସବୁ ଚାଟୁଥିଲେ।
and who was desirous to feed on the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 କାଳକ୍ରମେ ସେହି ଭିକାରୀଟି ମରିଗଲା ଓ ଦୂତମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କ କୋଳକୁ ନିଆଗଲା; ପରେ ସେହି ଧନୀ ଲୋକ ମଧ୍ୟ ମରିଗଲା ଓ ସମାଧି ପାଇଲା।
It happened that the poor man died, and was conveyed by angels to Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried.
23 ଆଉ, ସେ ନର୍କ-ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣାରେ କଲବଲ ହୋଇ ଉପରକୁ ଚାହିଁ ଦୂରରେ ଅବ୍ରହାମ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ କୋଳରେ ଲାଜାରକୁ ଦେଖିଲା। (Hadēs g86)
And in hades, being in torments, he looked up, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom, (Hadēs g86)
24 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, ‘ହେ ପିତା ଅବ୍ରହାମ, ମୋତେ ଦୟା କରି ଲାଜାରକୁ ପଠାଇ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ, ଯେପରି ସେ ପାଣିରେ ନିଜ ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳିର ଟିପ ବୁଡ଼ାଇ ମୋହର ଜିଭକୁ ଥଣ୍ଡା କରେ, କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଏହି ନିଆଁରେ କଲବଲ ହେଉଅଛି।’
and cried, saying, Have pity on me, father Abraham, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tortured in this flame.
25 କିନ୍ତୁ ଅବ୍ରହାମ କହିଲେ, ‘ପୁଅରେ, ତୁ ଯେ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ସମୟରେ ତୋର ଭଲ ବିଷୟସବୁ ପାଇଲୁ, ଆଉ ଲାଜାର ସେହିପରି ମନ୍ଦ ବିଷୟସବୁ ପାଇଲା, ଏହା ମନେ କର; କିନ୍ତୁ ଏବେ ସେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା ପାଉଅଛି, ଆଉ ତୁ କଲବଲ ହେଉଅଛୁ।
Abraham answered, Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received good things, and Lazarus received evil things; but now he is in joy, and you are in torments.
26 ତାହା ଛଡ଼ା ତୁମ ଓ ଆମ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବହୁତ ବଡ଼ ବ୍ୟବଧାନ ଅଛି, ଯେପରି ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଏ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଯାଇ ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ, କିମ୍ବା ସେ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ କେହି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପାର ହୋଇ ଆସି ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ।’
Besides, there lies a huge gulf between us and you, so that they who would pass hence to you, can not: neither can they pass to us, who would come thence.
27 ସେଥିରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, ‘ହେ ପିତା, ତାହାହେଲେ ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରୁଅଛି, ତାହାକୁ ମୋହର ବାପାଙ୍କ ଘରକୁ ପଠାଉନ୍ତୁ,
The other replied, I entreat you, then, father, to send him to my father's house;
28 କାରଣ ମୋହର ପାଞ୍ଚ ଭାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି; ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଯେପରି ଏହି ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣାମୟ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ନ ଆସିବେ, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେବେ।’
for I have five brothers, that he may admonish them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 କିନ୍ତୁ ଅବ୍ରହାମ କହିଲେ, ‘ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ମୋଶା ଓ ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ଅଛି, ସେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର କଥା ଶୁଣନ୍ତୁ।’
Abraham answered, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them.
30 ସେଥିରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, ‘ହେ ପିତା ଅବ୍ରହାମ, ତାହା ଯଥେଷ୍ଟ ନୁହେଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖରୁ ଜଣେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବ, ତାହାହେଲେ ସେମାନେ ମନ-ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ କରିବେ।’
Nay, said he, father Abraham, but if one went to them from the dead, they would reform.
31 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, ‘ଯଦି ସେମାନେ ମୋଶା ଓ ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କର କଥା ନ ଶୁଣନ୍ତି, ତାହାହେଲେ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ପୁନରୁତ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ସେମାନେ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ।’”
Abraham replied, if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one should arise from the dead.
