ଯୋହନ 16

1 “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ବିଘ୍ନ ନ ପାଅ, ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା କହିଅଛି।

These things I tell you, that you may not be discouraged.

2 ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମାଜଗୃହରୁ ବାହାର କରିବେ, ହଁ, ଏପରି ସମୟ ଆସୁଅଛି, ଯେତେବେଳେ ଯେ କେହି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରେ, ସେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଉପାସନାରୂପ ବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରୁଅଛି ବୋଲି ମନେ କରିବ।

They will expel you from the synagogue; nay, the time is coming, when, whosoever kills you, will think he offers sacrifice to God.

3 ଆଉ, ସେମାନେ ଏହାସବୁ କରିବେ, କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ପିତାଙ୍କୁ କିମ୍ବା ମୋତେ ଜାଣି ନାହାନ୍ତି।

And these things they will do, because they know not the Father nor me.

4 ମାତ୍ର ଏସମସ୍ତ ଘଟିବାର ସମୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ, ମୁଁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଥିଲି, ଏହା ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସ୍ମରଣ କର, ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଅଛି। ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଥିବାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭରୁ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲି ନାହିଁ।”

Of these things I warn you now, that when the time shall come, you may remember that I mentioned them to you. I did not, indeed, mention them at the beginning, because I was with you myself.

5 “କିନ୍ତୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମୁଁ ମୋହର ପ୍ରେରଣକର୍ତ୍ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଉଅଛି, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯାଉଅଛ ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି ମୋତେ ପଚାରୁ ନାହଁ।

And now I go away to him who sent me; yet none of you ask me, Whither do you go?

6 ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା କହିଥିବାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ଦୁଃଖରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇଅଛି।

But because of those things which I have foretold you, you are overwhelmed with grief.

7 କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ମୋହର ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରିବାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ, କାରଣ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ ନ କଲେ ସେହି ସାହାଯ୍ୟକାରୀ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିବେ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ଗଲେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇଦେବି।

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; it is for your good that I depart; for if I do not depart, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go away, I will send him to you.

8 ସେ ଆସି ପାପ, ଧାର୍ମିକତା ଓ ବିଚାର ବିଷୟରେ ଜଗତକୁ ପ୍ରମାଣ ଦେବେ;

And when he is come, he will convince the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment:

9 ପାପ ବିଷୟରେ, କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ମୋʼ ଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ;

concerning sin, because they believe not on me;

10 ଧାର୍ମିକତା ବିଷୟରେ, କାରଣ ମୁଁ ପିତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଉଅଛି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଆଉ ଦେଖିବ ନାହିଁ;

concerning righteousness because I go to my Father, and you see me no longer;

11 ନ୍ୟାୟବିଚାର ବିଷୟରେ କାରଣ ଏହି ଜଗତର ଅଧିପତି ବିଚାରିତ ହୋଇଅଛି।

concerning judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

12 ମୋହର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆହୁରି ଅନେକ କଥା କହିବାର ଅଛି, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏବେ ସେହିସବୁ ସହି ପାର ନାହିଁ।

I have many things still to tell you, but you can not yet bear them.

13 କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ସତ୍ୟମୟ ଆତ୍ମା ଆସିଲେ ସେ ପଥ ଦେଖାଇ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମସ୍ତ ସତ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରାଇବେ, କାରଣ ସେ ଆପଣାଠାରୁ କଥା କହିବେ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଯାହା ଯାହା ଶୁଣିବେ, ସେହିସବୁ କହିବେ, ପୁଣି, ଆଗାମୀ ବିଷୟସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବେ।

But when the Spirit of Truth is come, he will conduct you into all the truth: for his words will not proceed from himself: but whatsoever he shall have heard, he will speak, and show you things to come.

14 ସେ ମୋତେ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କରିବେ, କାରଣ ସେ ମୋʼ ବିଷୟ ଘେନି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବେ।

He will glorify me: for he will take of mine and communicate to you.

15 ଯାହା ଯାହା ପିତାଙ୍କର, ସେହିସବୁ ମୋହର; ଏହି ହେତୁ ମୁଁ କହିଲି, ସେ ମୋହର ବିଷୟ ଘେନି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବେ।”

Whatsoever is the Father's, is mine; therefore, I say that he will take of mine to communicate to you.

16 “ଅଳ୍ପମାତ୍ର ସମୟ ରହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଆଉ ଦେଖିବ ନାହିଁ, ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖିବ।”

A little while you shall not see me; a little while after, you shall see me; because I go to the Father.

17 ସେଥିରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି କେହି ପରସ୍ପର କହିଲେ, “ଅଳ୍ପମାତ୍ର ସମୟ ରହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖିବ ନାହିଁ, ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖିବ ଓ ମୁଁ ପିତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଉଅଛି,” ଏହି ଯେଉଁ କଥା ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା କଅଣ?

Some of the disciples said among themselves, What does he mean by this; a little while you shall not see me; a little while after, you shall see me; because I go to the Father?

18 ଏଣୁ ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, “ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ” ବୋଲି ଏ କଅଣ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି? ସେ କଅଣ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବୁଝି ପାରୁ ନାହୁଁ।

What means this little while, of which he speaks? We do not comprehend it.

19 ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ବୁଝି ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଅଳ୍ପମାତ୍ର ସମୟ ରହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖିବ ନାହିଁ, ‘ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖିବ, ମୁଁ ଏହି ଯେଉଁ କଥା କହିଲି, ସେ ବିଷୟ ଘେନି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଅଣ ପରସ୍ପର ବାଦାନୁବାଦ କରୁଅଛ?’

Jesus perceiving that they were desirous to ask him, said to them, Do you inquire among yourselves about this that I said, A little while you shall not see me; a little while after, you shall see me?

20 ସତ୍ୟ ସତ୍ୟ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ରୋଦନ ଓ ବିଳାପ କରିବ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଜଗତ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରିବ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦୁଃଖିତ ହେବ, କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦୁଃଖ ଆନନ୍ଦରେ ପରିଣତ ହେବ।

Most assuredly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice: you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

21 ପ୍ରସବ ସମୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ଦୁଃଖ ପାଏ; କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ସନ୍ତାନ ପ୍ରସବ କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଜଗତରେ ଜଣେ ମାନବ ଜନ୍ମଗ୍ରହଣ କଲା, ଏହି ଆନନ୍ଦ ଯୋଗୁଁ ଆଉ କଷ୍ଟ ସ୍ମରଣ କରେ ନାହିଁ।

A woman in travail has sorrow, because her hour is come. But when her son is born, she remembers her anguish no longer; for joy that she has brought a man into the world.

22 ସେହିପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଦୁଃଖ ପାଉଅଛ, କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦର୍ଶନ ଦେବି, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ଆନନ୍ଦିତ ହେବ ଓ କେହି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆନନ୍ଦ ହରଣ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।

So, you, at present, are in grief; but I will visit you again, and your hearts shall be joyful, and none shall rob you of your joy.

23 ସେ ଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ କିଛି ପଚାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ସତ୍ୟ ସତ୍ୟ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପିତାଙ୍କୁ କିଛି ମାଗିବ, ତେବେ ମୋʼ ନାମରେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହା ଦେବେ।

On that day, you will put no questions to me. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father, in my name, he will give you.

24 ଏପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋʼ ନାମରେ କିଛି ମାଗି ନାହଁ; ମାଗ, ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆନନ୍ଦ ଯେପରି ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୁଏ, ସେଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହା ପାଇବ।”

Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name; ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be complete.

25 “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉପମା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା କହିଅଛି; ସମୟ ଆସୁଅଛି, ଯେତେବେଳେ ମୁଁ ଆଉ ଉପମା ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବି ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ପିତାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ରୂପେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବି।

These things I have spoken to you in figures: the time approaches when I shall no more discourse to you in figures, but instruct you plainly concerning the Father.

26 ସେ ଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋʼ ନାମରେ ମାଗିବ; ଆଉ, ମୁଁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସପକ୍ଷରେ ପିତାଙ୍କୁ ନିବେଦନ କରିବି, ଏହା ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁ ନାହିଁ;

The you will ask in my name, and I say not, that I will entreat the Father for you:

27 କାରଣ ପିତା ସ୍ୱୟଂ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରନ୍ତି, ଯେଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ସ୍ନେହ କରିଅଛ ଓ ମୁଁ ଯେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଆସିଅଛି, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିଅଛ।

for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and believed that I came from God.

28 ମୁଁ ପିତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଜଗତକୁ ଆସିଅଛି; ପୁନର୍ବାର ମୁଁ ଜଗତ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ପିତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଉଅଛି।”

From the presence of the Father I cam into the world. Again, I leave the world, and return to the Father.

29 ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ କହିଲେ, ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଆପଣ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ରୂପେ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଉପମା-କଥା ଆଉ କହୁ ନାହାନ୍ତି।

His disciples replied, Now, indeed, you speak plainly, and without a figure.

30 ଆପଣ ଯେ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ଜାଣନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି, କେହି ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ କରିବାର ଯେ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ପ୍ରୟୋଜନ ନାହିଁ, ତାହା ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣିଲୁ; ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଆପଣ ଆସିଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଅଛୁ।

Now we are convinced that you know all things, and need not that any should put questions to you. By this we believe that you came forth from God.

31 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଅଣ ଏବେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଅଛ?

Jesus answered, Do you now believe?

32 ଦେଖ, ସମୟ ଆସୁଅଛି, ହଁ, ଆସିଲାଣି, ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଘରକୁ ପଳାଇଯିବ, ଆଉ ମୋତେ ଏକାକୀ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରିବ; ତଥାପି ମୁଁ ଏକାକୀ ନୁହେଁ, କାରଣ ପିତା ମୋʼ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି।

Behold, the time comes, or rather is come, when you shall disperse, every one to his own, and shall leave me alone; yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

33 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ମୋʼ ଠାରେ ଶାନ୍ତି ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଅ, ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହିସବୁ ବିଷୟ କହିଅଛି। ଜଗତରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ କ୍ଳେଶ ଅଛି, କିନ୍ତୁ ସାହସ ଧର; ମୁଁ ଜଗତକୁ ଜୟ କରିଅଛି।”

These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage! I have overcome the world.
