ଯୋହନ 12
1 ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯୀଶୁ ନିସ୍ତାର ପର୍ବର ଛଅ ଦିନ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ବେଥନୀୟାକୁ ଆସିଲେ; ଯେଉଁ ଲାଜାରଙ୍କୁ ସେ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଉଠାଇଥିଲେ, ସେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଥିଲେ।
Then six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus raised from the dead.
2 ତେଣୁ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ରାତ୍ରିଭୋଜ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କଲେ; ମାର୍ଥା ପରିଚର୍ଯ୍ୟା କରୁଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଭୋଜନରେ ବସିଲେ, ଲାଜାର ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ଥିଲେ।
So they prepared a dinner for him there; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with him.
3 ସେତେବେଳେ ମରୀୟମ ଅଧ ସେର ଅତି ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ବିଶୁଦ୍ଧ ଜଟାମାଂସୀ ସୁଗନ୍ଧି ତୈଳ ଘେନି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଦରେ ତାହା ଲଗାଇ ଆପଣା କେଶରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଦ ପୋଛିଦେଲେ, ଆଉ ତୈଳର ସୁବାସରେ ଘରଟି ମହକିଗଲା।
Mary, therefore, took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
4 କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଇଷ୍କାରିୟୋତୀୟ ଯିହୂଦା ନାମକ ଯେଉଁ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଥିଲା, ସେ କହିଲା,
Then Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, who would betray him, said,
5 ଏହି ତୈଳ ତିନିଶହ ଦିନର ମଜୁରୀ ସମାନ ମୂଲ୍ୟରେ ବିକ୍ରୟ କରାଯାଇ କାହିଁକି ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଆ ନ ଗଲା?
"Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor?"
6 ସେ ଯେ ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଚିନ୍ତା କରୁଥିଲା ବୋଲି ଏହା କହିଲା, ତାହା ନୁହେଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ଜଣେ ଚୋର, ଆଉ ତାହା ନିକଟରେ ଟଙ୍କାଥଳୀ ଥିବାରୁ, ସେଥିରେ ଯାହା ଯାହା ରଖାଯାଉଥିଲା, ତାହା ସେ ଚୋରି କରି ନେଇଯାଉଥିଲା।
Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, used to steal what was put into it.
7 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, “ଏହାକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅ, ଯେପରି ମୋହର ସମାଧି ଦିନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେ ଏହା ରଖି ପାରେ।
But Jesus said, "Leave her alone, that she may keep this for the day of my burial.
8 ଦରିଦ୍ରମାନେ ତ ସର୍ବଦା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ସର୍ବଦା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ନ ଥିବି।”
For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me."
9 ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ବହୁସଂଖ୍ୟକ ଯିହୁଦୀ ଲୋକ ସେ ସେଠାରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଜାଣି ପାରି କେବଳ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ସକାଶେ ନୁହେଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁ ଲାଜାରଙ୍କୁ ସେ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଉଠାଇଥିଲେ, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆସିଲେ।
A large crowd therefore of the Judeans learned that he was there, and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
10 କିନ୍ତୁ ଲାଜାରଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ବଧ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକମାନେ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା କଲେ,
But the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus also,
11 କାରଣ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଯୋଗୁଁ ଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଅନେକେ ଯାଇ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଥିଲେ।
because on account of him many of the Jewish people went away and believed in Jesus.
12 ତହିଁ ଆରଦିନ ପର୍ବକୁ ଆସିଥିବା ବହୁସଂଖ୍ୟକ ଲୋକ ଯୀଶୁ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ସହରକୁ ଆସୁଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଶୁଣି
On the next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 ଖଜୁରୀ ବାହୁଙ୍ଗା ଘେନି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବାହାରିଗଲେ ଓ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, “ହୋଶାନ୍ନା।” “ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଯେ ଆସୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ଧନ୍ୟ; ଧନ୍ୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା।”
they took the branches of the palm trees, and went out to meet him, and were shouting, "Hosanna. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel."
14 ଆଉ, ଯୀଶୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭଶାବକ ପାଇ ତାହା ଉପରେ ଆରୋହଣ କଲେ, ଯେପରି ଲେଖାଅଛି,
And Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written,
15 ଆଗୋ ସିୟୋନର କନ୍ୟେ, ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ; ଦେଖ, ତୋର ରାଜା ଆସୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭଶାବକ ଉପରେ ଆରୋହଣ କରି ଆସୁଅଛନ୍ତି।
"Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Look, your King comes, sitting on a donkey's colt."
16 ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ବୁଝିଲେ ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ଯେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ଲେଖାଯାଇଥିଲା, ପୁଣି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସେମାନେ ଯେ ଏହିସବୁ କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମନରେ ପଡ଼ିଲା।
His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that they had done these things to him.
17 ଆଉ, ସେ ଲାଜାରଙ୍କୁ ସମାଧିରୁ ଡାକି ମୃତମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଉଠାଇବା ସମୟରେ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକସମୂହ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଥିଲେ, ସେମାନେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
The crowd therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead, was testifying about it.
18 ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଲୋକସମୂହ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲେ, ଯେଣୁ ସେ ଏହି ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟକର୍ମ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ସେମାନେ ଶୁଣିଥିଲେ।
For this cause also the crowd went and met him, because they heard that he had done this sign.
19 ସେଥିରେ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର କୁହାକୋହି ହେଲେ, ଦେଖୁଅଛ ତ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଚେଷ୍ଟା ବିଫଳ ହେଉଅଛି; ଦେଖ, ଜଗତଟାଯାକ ତାହାର ପଛରେ ଗଲେଣି।
The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, "See how you accomplish nothing. Look, the whole world has gone after him."
20 ପର୍ବ ସମୟରେ ଉପାସନା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆସିଥିବା ଯାତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କେତେକ ଗ୍ରୀକ୍ ଲୋକ ଥିଲେ।
Now there were certain Greeks among those that went up to worship at the feast.
21 ସେମାନେ ଗାଲିଲୀସ୍ଥ ବେଥ୍ସାଇଦାନିବାସୀ ଫିଲିପ୍ପଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରି କହିଲେ, ମହାଶୟ, ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଦର୍ଶନ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଇଚ୍ଛା।
These, therefore, came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, "Sir, we want to see Jesus."
22 ଫିଲିପ୍ପ ଯାଇ ଆନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଆନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ ଓ ଫିଲିପ୍ପ ଯାଇ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ।
Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn, Andrew came with Philip, and they told Jesus.
23 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ।
And Jesus answered them, "The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 ସତ୍ୟ ସତ୍ୟ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ଗହମବୀଜ ଯଦି ମୃତ୍ତିକାରେ ପଡ଼ି ନ ମରେ, ତାହାହେଲେ ତାହା ଏକମାତ୍ର ଥାଏ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ମରେ, ତାହାହେଲେ ବହୁତ ଫଳ ଫଳେ।
Truly, truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
25 ଯେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ପ୍ରିୟ ଜ୍ଞାନ କରେ, ସେ ତାହା ହରାଇବ, ଆଉ ଯେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ଇହଜଗତରେ ଘୃଣା କରେ, ସେ ତାହା ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବ। (aiōnios g166)
He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
26 କେହି ଯେବେ ମୋହର ସେବକ, ତେବେ ସେ ମୋହର ଅନୁଗମନ କରୁ; ଆଉ, ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ଥାଏ, ମୋହର ସେବକ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେହିଠାରେ ରହିବ; କେହି ଯେବେ ମୋହର ସେବା କରେ, ତେବେ ପିତା ତାହାକୁ ସମ୍ମାନ ଦେବେ।”
If anyone serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
27 “ଏବେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ଉଦ୍ବିଗ୍ନ ହୋଇଅଛି, ଆଉ ମୁଁ କଅଣ କହିବି? ପିତଃ, ମୋତେ ଏହି ସମୟଠାରୁ ରକ୍ଷା କର? କିନ୍ତୁ ଏଥିସକାଶେ ତ ମୁଁ ଏହି ସମୟ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ଆସିଅଛି।
"Now my soul is troubled; and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour?' But for this cause I came to this hour.
28 ପିତଃ, ଆପଣା ନାମ ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ କର।” ସେଥିରେ ଆକାଶରୁ ଏହି ବାଣୀ ହେଲା, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ କରିଅଛୁ, ଆଉ ପୁନର୍ବାର ମହିମାନ୍ୱିତ କରିବୁ।
Father, glorify your name." Then there came a voice out of the sky, saying, "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again."
29 ତେଣୁ ପାଖରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ଲୋକସମୂହ ଏହା ଶୁଣି ମେଘଗର୍ଜ୍ଜନ ହେଲା ବୋଲି କହିଲେ; ଅନ୍ୟମାନେ କହିଲେ, ଜଣେ ଦୂତ ଏହାଙ୍କୁ କଥା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି।
The crowd therefore, who stood by and heard it, said that it had thundered. Others said, "An angel has spoken to him."
30 ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ମୋʼ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହି ବାଣୀ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ହୋଇଅଛି।
Jesus answered, "This voice hasn't come for my sake, but for your sakes.
31 ଏବେ ଏହି ଜଗତର ବିଚାର ଉପସ୍ଥିତ; ଏବେ ଏହି ଜଗତର ଅଧିପତିକୁ ବାହାରେ ପକାଯିବ।
Now is the judgment of this world. Now the prince of this world will be cast out.
32 ଆଉ, ମୁଁ ଯଦି ପୃଥିବୀରୁ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱକୁ ଉତ୍ଥିତ ହେବି, ତାହାହେଲେ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ନିକଟକୁ ଆକର୍ଷଣ କରିବି।
And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw everyone to myself."
33 ସେ କେଉଁ ପ୍ରକାର ମୃତ୍ୟୁଭୋଗ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେଥିର ସୂଚନା ଦେଇ ଏହା କହିଲେ।”
But he said this, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
34 ସେଥିରେ ଲୋକସମୂହ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳ ରହିବେ ବୋଲି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାରୁ ଶୁଣିଅଛୁ, ତେବେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱକୁ ଉତ୍ଥିତ ହେବେ ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେ କିପରି କହୁଅଛ? ଏହି ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର କିଏ? (aiōn g165)
The crowd answered him, "We have heard out of the law that the Christ remains forever. Then how can you say, 'The Son of Man must be lifted up?' Who is this Son of Man?" (aiōn g165)
35 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆଉ ଅଳ୍ପ ସମୟ ମାତ୍ର ଜ୍ୟୋତିଃ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅଛି। ଅନ୍ଧକାର ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରାସ ନ କରେ, ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଜ୍ୟୋତିଃ ଥାଉ ଥାଉ ଗମନାଗମନ କର; ଯେ ଅନ୍ଧକାରରେ ଗମନାଗମନ କରେ, ସେ କେଉଁଠାକୁ ଯାଉଅଛି, ତାହା ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ।
Jesus therefore said to them, "Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness does not overtake you. He who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.
36 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ଜ୍ୟୋତିଃର ସନ୍ତାନ ହୁଅ, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ଜ୍ୟୋତିଃ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଥାଉ ଥାଉ ଜ୍ୟୋତିଃରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କର।” ଯୀଶୁ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା କହି ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଗୋପନରେ ରହିଲେ।
While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light." Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.
37 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦ୍ୟପି ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଏତେ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟକର୍ମ କରିଥିଲେ, ତଥାପି ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁ ନ ଥିଲେ,
But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they did not believe in him,
38 ଯେପରି ଭାବବାଦୀ ଯିଶାଇୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଉକ୍ତ ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ସଫଳ ହୁଏ, “ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, କିଏ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ବାଦ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିଅଛି? ଆଉ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାହୁ କାହା ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହୋଇଅଛି?”
that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, "Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"
39 ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ସେମାନେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିପାରୁ ନ ଥିଲେ, ଯେଣୁ ଯିଶାଇୟ ପୁନଶ୍ଚ କହିଅଛନ୍ତି,
For this cause they could not believe, for Isaiah said again,
40 “ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଅନ୍ଧ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ଜଡ଼ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେପରି ସେମାନେ ଆଖିରେ ଦେଖିବେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ହୃଦୟରେ ବୁଝିବେ ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି, ଫେରିବେ ନାହିଁ, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରିବୁ ନାହିଁ।”
He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them.
41 ଯିଶାଇୟ ଏହିସବୁ କହିଲେ, କାରଣ ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ମହିମା ଦେଖିଲେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ କଥା କହିଲେ।
Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory, and spoke of him.
42 ତଥାପି ଯିହୁଦୀ ନେତାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଅନେକେ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ କାଳେ ସେମାନେ ସମାଜଗୃହରୁ ବାହାର ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନଙ୍କ ହେତୁ ତାହା ସ୍ୱୀକାର କରୁ ନ ଥିଲେ,
Nevertheless even of the rulers many believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue,
43 କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଗୌରବ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବରଂ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଗୌରବ ଭଲ ପାଇଲେ।
for they loved praise from people more than praise from God.
44 ଯୀଶୁ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ କହିଲେ, “ଯେ ମୋʼ ଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରେ, ସେ କେବଳ ମୋʼ ଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରେ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ମୋହର ପ୍ରେରଣକର୍ତ୍ତାଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରେ;
Then Jesus shouted out and said, "Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me.
45 ଆଉ, ଯେ ମୋତେ ଦର୍ଶନ କରେ, ସେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରେରଣକର୍ତ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ଦର୍ଶନ କରେ।
And he who sees me sees him who sent me.
46 ଯେ କେହି ମୋʼ ଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରେ, ସେ ଯେପରି ଅନ୍ଧକାରରେ ବାସ ନ କରେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ଜଗତକୁ ଜ୍ୟୋତିଃ ହୋଇ ଆସିଅଛି।
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.
47 କେହି ଯଦି ମୋହର ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣି ପାଳନ କରେ ନାହିଁ, ତାହାହେଲେ ମୁଁ ତାହାର ବିଚାର କରେ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଜଗତର ବିଚାର କରିବାକୁ ନ ଆସି ବରଂ ଜଗତକୁ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିଅଛି।
And if anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 ଯେ ମୋତେ ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ କରେ ଓ ମୋହର ବାକ୍ୟ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରେ ନାହିଁ, ତାହାର ବିଚାରକର୍ତ୍ତା ଅଛି; ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ ବାକ୍ୟ କହିଅଛି, ତାହା ଶେଷ ଦିନରେ ତାହାର ବିଚାର କରିବ।
He who rejects me, and does not accept my words, has one who judges him. The word that I spoke will judge him on the last day.
49 କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଆପଣାଠାରୁ କହି ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ କଅଣ କହିବି ଓ କଅଣ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତ କରିବି, ତାହା ମୋହର ପ୍ରେରଣକର୍ତ୍ତା ପିତା ମୋତେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି;
For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
