ଆୟୁବ 5
1 ଏବେ ଡାକ, ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବାକୁ କʼଣ କେହି ଅଛି? ପୁଣି, ପବିତ୍ରଗଣ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହାର ଅନୁସରଣ କରିବ?
Call now if there be any that will answer thee, and turn to some of the saints.
2 କାରଣ ବିରକ୍ତି ଅଜ୍ଞାନକୁ ନାଶ କରେ ଓ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଜ୍ୱାଳା ନିର୍ବୋଧକୁ ବଧ କରେ।
Anger indeed killeth the foolish, and envy slayeth the little one.
3 ଅଜ୍ଞାନର ଚେର ମାଡ଼ିବାର ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଅଛି; ମାତ୍ର ହଠାତ୍ ତାହାର ବାସସ୍ଥାନକୁ ମୁଁ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେଲି।
I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I cursed his beauty immediately.
4 ତାହାର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ସୁରକ୍ଷାଠାରୁ ଦୂରରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନେ ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ଅବା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବାକୁ କେହି ନ ଥାଏ।
His children shall be far from safety, and shall be destroyed in the gate, and there shall be none to deliver them.
5 କ୍ଷୁଧିତ ଲୋକ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଶସ୍ୟ ଖାଇଯାʼନ୍ତି ଓ କଣ୍ଟା ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ହିଁ ତାହା ନେଇଯାʼନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ଜାଲ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିକୁ ଚାହିଁକରି ଥାଏ।
Whose harvest the hungry shall eat, and the armed man shall take him by violence, and the thirsty shall drink up his riches.
6 କାରଣ କ୍ଳେଶ ଧୂଳିରୁ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ଦୁଃଖ ଭୂମିରୁ ଅଙ୍କୁରିତ ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ;
Nothing upon earth is done without a voice cause, and sorrow doth not spring out of the ground.
7 ମାତ୍ର ଅଗ୍ନିକଣିକା ଯେପରି ଉପରକୁ ଉଠେ, ସେହିପରି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଦୁଃଖ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଜାତ ଅଟେ।
Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.
8 ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କରିବି ଓ ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ବିଷୟ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବି।
Wherefore I will pray to the Lord, and address my speech to God:
9 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମହାନ, ଅନନୁସନ୍ଧେୟ ଏବଂ ଅସଂଖ୍ୟ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟକର୍ମ କରନ୍ତି;
Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:
10 ସେ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି ଓ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରକୁ ଜଳ ପଠାନ୍ତି।
Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters:
11 ଏହିରୂପେ ସେ ନୀଚ ଲୋକକୁ ଉଚ୍ଚରେ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ଶୋକାର୍ତ୍ତମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରି ଉନ୍ନତ କରନ୍ତି।
Who setteth up the humble on high, and comforteth with health those that mourn.
12 ସେ ଧୂର୍ତ୍ତମାନଙ୍କର କଳ୍ପନା ବ୍ୟର୍ଥ କରନ୍ତି, ତେଣୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସାଧନ କରିପାରେ ନାହିଁ।
Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun:
13 ସେ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଧୂର୍ତ୍ତତାରେ ଧରନ୍ତି ଓ କୁଟିଳମନାମାନଙ୍କ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଶୀଘ୍ର ବିଫଳ ହୁଏ।
Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked:
14 ସେମାନେ ଦିନ ବେଳେ ଅନ୍ଧକାରଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି ମଧ୍ୟାହ୍ନରେ ରାତ୍ରିକାଳର ନ୍ୟାୟ ଦରାଣ୍ଡି ହୁଅନ୍ତି।
They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night.
15 ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଦୀନହୀନକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଖଡ୍ଗରୂପ ମୁଖରୁ ଓ ପରାକ୍ରମୀମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରନ୍ତି।
But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.
16 ଏହେତୁ ଦରିଦ୍ର ଭରସା ପାଏ ଓ ଅଧର୍ମ ନିଜ ମୁଖ ବନ୍ଦ କରେ।
And to the needy there shall he hope, but iniquity shall draw in her mouth.
17 ଦେଖ, ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯାହାକୁ ଶାସନ କରନ୍ତି, ସେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଧନ୍ୟ; ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କର ଶାସ୍ତି ତୁଚ୍ଛ ନ କର।
Blessed is the mall whom God correcteth: refuse not therefore the chastising of the lord:
18 କାରଣ ସେ କ୍ଷତ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ବାନ୍ଧନ୍ତି; ସେ ଆଘାତ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରଇ;
For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal.
19 ସେ ଛଅଗୋଟି ସଙ୍କଟରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ; ଆହୁରି, ସାତ ସଙ୍କଟରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କୌଣସି ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee.
20 ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ସମୟରେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁରୁ ଓ ଯୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଖଡ୍ଗର ବଳରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବେ।
In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in battle, from the hand of the sword.
21 ଜିହ୍ୱାର କୋରଡ଼ା-ପ୍ରହାରରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଗୋପନରେ ରଖାଯିବ; କିଅବା ବିନାଶ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭୀତ ନୋହିବ।
Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh.
22 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବିନାଶ ଓ ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରତି ହସିବ; ଅଥବା ପୃଥିବୀର ପଶୁଗଣ ବିଷୟରେ ଭୟଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ନୋହିବ।
In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23 କାରଣ ପଦାର ପଥର ସଙ୍ଗେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚୁକ୍ତି ହେବ ଓ ପଦାର ପଶୁଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ରହିବେ।
But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at pence with thee.
24 ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭର ତମ୍ବୁ ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ଅଛି, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ପଶୁଶାଳାକୁ ଗଲେ କିଛି ହଜି ନ ଥିବାର ଦେଖିବ।
And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.
25 ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭର ବଂଶ ବହୁସଂଖ୍ୟକ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତାନସନ୍ତତି ଭୂମିର ତୃଣ ପରି ହେବାର ଜାଣିବ।
Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth.
26 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯଥା ସମୟରେ ଆନୀତ ଶସ୍ୟବିଡ଼ା ତୁଲ୍ୟ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣାୟୁ ହୋଇ ଆପଣା କବରକୁ ଆସିବ।
Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season.
27 ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହା ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରିଅଛୁ, ତାହା ସେପରି ଅଟେ; ତାହା ଶୁଣ ଓ ଆପଣା ମଙ୍ଗଳ ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହା ଜ୍ଞାତ ହୁଅ।”
Behold, this is even so, as we have searched out: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind.
