ଆୟୁବ 15
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୈମନୀୟ ଇଲୀଫସ୍ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା,
And Eliphaz the Themanite, answered, and said:
2 “ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକ କʼଣ ଅସାର ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବ? ଓ ପୂର୍ବୀୟ ବାୟୁରେ ଆପଣା ଉଦର ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବ?
Will a wise man answer as if he were speaking in the wind, and fill his stomach with burning heat?
3 ସେ କʼଣ ଅନର୍ଥକ କଥାରେ ଓ ନିଷ୍ଫଳ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ଯୁକ୍ତି କରିବ?
Thou reprovest him by words, who is not equal to thee, and thou speakest that which is not good for thee.
4 ହଁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତ ଭୟ ଦୂର କରି ଦେଉଅଛ ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଭକ୍ତି କ୍ଷୀଣ କରୁଅଛ।
As much as is in thee, thou hast made void fear, and hast taken away prayers from before God.
5 କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅପରାଧ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମୁଖକୁ ଶିଖାଉଅଛି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଧୂର୍ତ୍ତର ଜିହ୍ୱା ପସନ୍ଦ କରୁଅଛ।
For thy iniquity hath taught thy mouth, and thou imitatest the tongue of blasphemers.
6 ତୁମ୍ଭର ନିଜ ମୁଖ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦୋଷୀ କରୁଅଛି, ମୁଁ କରୁ ନାହିଁ; ଆହୁରି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିଜ ଓଷ୍ଠାଧର ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଉଅଛି।
Thy own mouth shall condemn thee, and not I: and thy own lips shall answer thee.
7 ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କʼଣ ପ୍ରଥମଜାତ? ଅବା ପର୍ବତଗଣ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କʼଣ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ହୋଇଥିଲ?
Art thou the first man that was born, or wast thou made before the hills?
8 ତୁମ୍ଭେ କʼଣ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଗୁପ୍ତ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଶୁଣିଅଛ? ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କʼଣ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଆତ୍ମସାତ୍ କରୁଅଛ?
Hast thou heard God’s counsel, and shall his wisdom be inferior to thee?
9 ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଜଣା କେଉଁ କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁଅଛ? ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅବୁଝା କେଉଁ କଥା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବୁଝୁଅଛ?
What knowest thou that we are ignorant of? what dost thou understand that we know not?
10 ପକ୍ୱକେଶ ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ଅତି ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଲୋକେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି।
There are with us also aged and ancient men, much elder than thy fathers.
11 ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା-ବାକ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି କି କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ବିଷୟ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ କୋମଳ ଆଳାପ କି ତଦ୍ରୂପ?
Is it a great matter that God should comfort thee? but thy wicked words hinder this.
12 ତୁମ୍ଭ ମନ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କାହିଁକି ବିପଥରେ ନେଇଯାଏ? ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚକ୍ଷୁ କାହିଁକି ମଟ୍ମଟ୍ କରେ
Why doth thy heart elevate thee, and why dost thou stare with thy eyes, as if they were thinking great things?
13 ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣା ଆତ୍ମାକୁ ଉଠାଉଅଛ ଓ ଆପଣା ମୁଖରୁ ଏପରି କଥା ବାହାରିବାକୁ ଦେଉଅଛ?
Why doth thy spirit swell against God, to utter such words out of thy mouth?
14 ମନୁଷ୍ୟ କିଏ ଯେ, ସେ ଶୁଚି ହୋଇପାରେ? ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଜାତ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ କିଏ ଯେ, ସେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ହୋଇପାରେ?
What is man that he should be without spot, and he that is born of a woman that he should appear just?
15 ଦେଖ, ସେ ଆପଣା ପବିତ୍ରଗଣଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ; ଆହୁରି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳ ନିର୍ମଳ ନୁହେଁ।
Behold among his saints none is unchangeable, and the heavens are not pure in his sight.
16 ତେବେ ଘୃଣାର୍ହ ଓ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ, ଅଧର୍ମକୁ ଜଳ ପରି ପାନକାରୀ ଯେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ, ସେ କେଡ଼େ ନ୍ୟୂନ!
How much more is man abominable, and unprofitable, who drinketh iniquity like water?
17 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦେଖାଇବି, ମୋʼ କଥା ଶୁଣ; ମୁଁ ଯାହା ଦେଖିଅଛି, ତାହା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବି;
I will shew thee, hear me: and I will tell thee what I have seen.
18 ଜ୍ଞାନୀମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପିତୃଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ତାହା ପାଇ କହିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଗୁପ୍ତ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି;
Wise men confess and hide not their fathers.
19 କେବଳ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଶ ଦତ୍ତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଓ କୌଣସି ବିଦେଶୀ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଗତାୟାତ କଲା ନାହିଁ;
To whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger hath passed among them.
20 ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଆପଣାର ଯାବଜ୍ଜୀବନ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ଉପଦ୍ରବ ପାଇଁ ନିରୂପିତ ବର୍ଷ ଯାଏ କ୍ଳେଶ ଭୋଗ କରେ।
The wicked man is proud all his days, and the number of the years of his tyranny is uncertain.
21 ତାହାର କର୍ଣ୍ଣରେ ତ୍ରାସଜନକ ଶବ୍ଦ ଥାଏ, ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ସମୟରେ ଲୁଣ୍ଠନକାରୀ ତାହାକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରିବ;
The sound of dread is always in his ears: and when there is peace, he always suspecteth treason.
22 ସେ ଅନ୍ଧକାରରୁ ଫେରି ଆସିବ ବୋଲି ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ସେ ଖଡ୍ଗ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅପେକ୍ଷିତ;
He believeth not that he may return from darkness to light, looking round about for the sword on every side.
23 ସେ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବାହାରେ ବୁଲି କହଇ, ତାହା କାହିଁ? ଅନ୍ଧକାରର ଦିନ ତାହାର ସନ୍ନିକଟ ବୋଲି ସେ ଜାଣେ।
When he moveth himself to seek bread, he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
24 ସଙ୍କଟ ଓ ମନସ୍ତାପ ତାହାକୁ ଭୀତ କରେ; ଯୁଦ୍ଧାର୍ଥେ ସସଜ୍ଜ ରାଜା ତୁଲ୍ୟ ତାହା ତାହାକୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କରେ;
Tribulation shall terrify him, and distress shall surround him, as a king that is prepared for the battle.
25 କାରଣ ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ବିସ୍ତାର କରିଅଛି ଓ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଗର୍ବାଚରଣ କରୁଅଛି;
For he hath stretched out his hand against God, and hath strengthened himself against the Almighty.
26 ସେ ଶକ୍ତଗ୍ରୀବ ହୋଇ ଆପଣା ଢାଲର ସ୍ଥୂଳ ଅଂଶ ଦେଖାଇ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉପରକୁ ଦୌଡ଼େ;
He hath run against him with his neck raised up, and is armed with a fat neck.
27 ସେ ଆପଣା ମେଦରେ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କଲା ଓ କଟିଦେଶ ହୃଷ୍ଟପୁଷ୍ଟ କଲା;
Fatness hath covered his face, and the fat hangeth down on his sides.
28 ଆଉ, ସେ ଉଜାଡ଼-ନଗରରେ ନିବାସୀରହିତ ଓ ଢିପି ହେବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ୟତ ଗୃହରେ ବାସ କଲା।
He hath dwelt in desolate cities, and in desert houses that are reduced into heaps.
29 ଏଣୁ ସେ ଧନବାନ ହେବ ନାହିଁ, ଅବା ତାହାର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ସ୍ଥାୟୀ ହେବ ନାହିଁ; କିଅବା ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ଫଳ ଭୂମିକୁ ଓହଳିବ ନାହିଁ।
He shall not be enriched, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he push his root in the earth.
30 ସେ ଅନ୍ଧକାରରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରିବ ନାହିଁ, ଅଗ୍ନିଶିଖା ତାହାର ଶାଖା ଶୁଷ୍କ କରିବ ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ମୁଖର ନିଶ୍ୱାସରେ ସେ ଉଡ଼ିଯିବ।
He shall not depart out of darkness: the flame shall dry up his branches, and he shall be taken away by the breath of his own month.
31 ସେ ଆପଣାକୁ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ କରି ଅସାରତାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ନ କରୁ; କାରଣ ଅସାରତା ହିଁ ତାହାର ପୁରସ୍କାର ହେବ।
He shall not believe, being vainly deceived by error, that he may be redeemed with any price.
32 ତାହା ଆପଣା ସମୟ ପୂର୍ବେ ଶେଷ ପାଇବ ଓ ତାହାର ଶାଖା ସତେଜ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
Before his days be full he shall perish: and his hands shall wither away.
33 ସେ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଲତା ନ୍ୟାୟ ଆପଣା ଅପକ୍ୱ ଫଳ ଝାଡ଼ି ପକାଇବ ଓ ଜୀତବୃକ୍ଷ ନ୍ୟାୟ ଆପଣା ଫୁଲ ପକାଇ ଦେବ।
He shall be blasted as a vine when its grapes are in the first flower, and as an olive tree that casteth its flower.
34 କାରଣ ଅଧାର୍ମିକମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗୀଦଳ ଅଫଳ ହେବେ ଓ ଅଗ୍ନି ଲାଞ୍ଚର ତମ୍ବୁସବୁ ଗ୍ରାସ କରିବ।
For the congregation of the hypocrite is barren, and fire shall devour their tabernacles, who love to take bribes.
35 ସେମାନେ ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ଗର୍ଭଧାରଣ କରି ଅଧର୍ମ ପ୍ରସବ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉଦର ପ୍ରତାରଣା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରେ।”
He hath conceived sorrow, and hath brought forth iniquity, and his womb prepareth deceits.
