ଯିରିମୀୟ 51

1 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, “ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଓ ଲେବ-କାମାଇ ନିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଏକ ବିନାଶକ ବାୟୁ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ କରିବା।

Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, And against them that dwell in the midst of mine adversaries, A destroying wind;

2 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ବିଦେଶୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ପ୍ରେରଣ କରିବା, ସେମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଝାଡ଼ି ତାହାର ଦେଶ ଶୂନ୍ୟ କରିବେ; କାରଣ ବିପଦ ଦିନରେ ସେମାନେ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ତାହାର ବିପକ୍ଷ ହେବେ।

And I will send against Babylon winnowers, And they shall winnow her, and empty her land; For they shall come against her on every side.

3 ଧନୁର୍ଦ୍ଧାରୀ ଆପଣା ଧନୁରେ ଗୁଣ ନ ଦେଉ ଓ ସେ ଆପଣା ସାଞ୍ଜୁଆ ପିନ୍ଧି ଉତ୍ଥିତ ନ ହେଉ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାର ଯୁବକଗଣକୁ ଦୟା କର ନାହିଁ; ତାହାର ସୈନ୍ୟସକଳକୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ବିନାଶ କର।

Against him that bendeth, let the archer bend his bow, And against him that lifteth himself up in his brigandine! And spare ye not her young men; Destroy ye utterly her whole host!

4 ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ କଲ୍‍ଦୀୟ ଦେଶରେ ହତ ଓ ରାଜଦାଣ୍ଡରେ ବିଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ପଡ଼ିବେ।

Thus shall they fall down slain in the land of the Chaldaeans, And thrust through in her streets.

5 କାରଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଧର୍ମସ୍ୱରୂପଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ଦୋଷରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହେଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ କିଅବା ଯିହୁଦା ଆପଣା ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପରିତ୍ୟକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି।

For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah abandoned of his God, of Jehovah of hosts; For their land is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel.

6 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବାବିଲ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ପଳାଅ ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ରକ୍ଷା କର; ତାହାର ଅଧର୍ମରେ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତିଶୋଧ ନେବାର ସମୟ ଏହି; ସେ ତାହାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବେ।

Flee ye out of Babylon, And save ye every man his life, That ye be not cut off in her punishment! For this is the time of Jehovah's vengeance; He will render to her a recompense.

7 ବାବିଲ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ଏକ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପାତ୍ର ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହୋଇଅଛି, ତାହା ସମୁଦାୟ ପୃଥିବୀକୁ ମତ୍ତ କରିଅଛି; ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନେ ତାହାର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ପାନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଏହେତୁ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନେ ପାଗଳ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି।

Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of Jehovah, That made all the earth drunken; The nations have drunken of her wine, Therefore the nations are mad.

8 ବାବିଲ ଅକସ୍ମାତ୍‍ ପତିତ ଓ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇଅଛି; ତାହା ପାଇଁ ହାହାକାର କର; ତାହାର ବେଦନାର ପାଇଁ ଔଷଧ ନିଅ, କେଜାଣି ସେ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହୋଇ ପାରିବ।

Babylon is suddenly fallen, and broken; Howl ye over her; Bring ye balm for her wounds, If so be she may be healed.

9 ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବାବିଲକୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁ, ମାତ୍ର ସେ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ; ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଦେଶକୁ ଯାଉ; କାରଣ ତାହାର ଦଣ୍ଡ ଗଗନସ୍ପର୍ଶୀ ଓ ଆକାଶ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଉଚ୍ଚୀକୃତ ଅଛି।

“We would have healed Babylon, But she cannot be healed. Forsake her, and let us go every one to his own country! For her punishment reacheth to the heavens, And ascendeth even to the skies.”

10 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଧାର୍ମିକତା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସିୟୋନରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର କ୍ରିୟା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରୁ।

Jehovah hath brought forth our deliverance; Come ye, and let us declare in Zion The work of Jehovah our God.

11 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୀର ତୀକ୍ଷ୍ଣ କର; ଦୃଢ଼ କରି ଢାଲ ଧର; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଦୀୟ ରାଜାଗଣର ମନ ଉତ୍ତେଜିତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; କାରଣ ବାବିଲକୁ ନଷ୍ଟ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସଂକଳ୍ପ ଅଛି; ଯେହେତୁ ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଦାତବ୍ୟ ପ୍ରତିଶୋଧ, ତାହାଙ୍କର ମନ୍ଦିର ନିମିତ୍ତକ ପ୍ରତିଶୋଧ ଅଟେ।

Make sharp the arrows; put on the shields! Jehovah hath roused up the spirit of the kings of the Medes; For his purpose is against Babylon, to destroy it; For this is the vengeance of Jehovah, The vengeance for his temple.

12 ବାବିଲର ପ୍ରାଚୀର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଧ୍ୱଜା ସ୍ଥାପନ କର, ରକ୍ଷକଦଳ ଦୃଢ଼ କର, ପ୍ରହରୀଗଣ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କର, ଗୋପନ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସୈନ୍ୟ ରଖ: କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ବାବିଲର ନିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଯାହା କହିଲେ, ତାହା ସଂକଳ୍ପ କରି ସିଦ୍ଧ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।

Against the walls of Babylon set up a standard, Make strong the guard, appoint the watchmen, prepare the ambush! For Jehovah deviseth and doeth that which he spake Against the inhabitants of Babylon.

13 ହେ ଜଳରାଶିର ଉପରେ ବାସକାରିଣୀ ଓ ଧନ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିରେ ଐଶ୍ୱର୍ଯ୍ୟଶାଳିନୀ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅନ୍ତିମକାଳ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅନ୍ୟାୟ ଲାଭର ସୀମା ଉପସ୍ଥିତ।

O thou that dwellest by great waters, That aboundest in treasures, Thine end is come; The measure of thy rapaciousness is full!

14 ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ନାମରେ ଏହି ଶପଥ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପତଙ୍ଗ ପରି ଜନତାରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା; ଆଉ, ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସିଂହନାଦ ଉଠାଇବେ।

Jehovah of hosts hath sworn by himself, [[saying, ]] Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillars, Who shall raise the war-shout against thee.

15 ସେ ଆପଣା ପରାକ୍ରମରେ ପୃଥିବୀ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ଆପଣା ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ଜଗତ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଆପଣା ବୁଦ୍ଧିରେ ସେ ଗଗନମଣ୍ଡଳ ବିସ୍ତାର କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।

He made the earth by his power, He established the world by his wisdom, And by his understanding he spread out the heavens.

16 ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେ ଆପଣା ରବ ଉଚ୍ଚାରଣ କରନ୍ତି, ସେତେବେଳେ ଆକାଶରେ ଜଳରାଶିର ଶବ୍ଦ ହୁଅଇ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀର ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରୁ ସେ ବାଷ୍ପ ଉତ୍ଥାପନ କରାନ୍ତି; ସେ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ନିମନ୍ତେ ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ୍ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରନ୍ତି ଓ ଆପଣା ଭଣ୍ଡାରସମୂହରୁ ବାୟୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣନ୍ତି।

When he uttereth his voice there is an abundance of water in the heavens; He causeth clouds to ascend from the ends of the earth; He bringeth the wind from his storehouses.

17 ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ପଶୁବତ୍‍ ହୋଇଅଛି ଓ ଜ୍ଞାନବିହୀନ ଅଟେ; ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ସ୍ୱର୍ଣ୍ଣକାର ଆପଣା ଖୋଦିତ ପ୍ରତିମା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହୋଇଅଛି; କାରଣ ତାହାର ଛାଞ୍ଚରେ ଢଳା ପ୍ରତିମା ମିଥ୍ୟା ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ଶ୍ୱାସବାୟୁ ନାହିଁ।

Brutish is every man who hath not this knowledge; By his images is every founder put to shame; For his molten work is deceit; There is no breath in it.

18 ସେସବୁ ଅସାର ଓ ମାୟାର କର୍ମ; ପୁଣି, ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ପାଇବା ସମୟରେ ସେମାନେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବେ।

They are vanity, deceptive work; In the time of their punishment shall they perish.

19 ଯେ ଯାକୁବର ବାଣ୍ଟ ସ୍ୱରୂପ, ସେ ଏସବୁର ପରି ନୁହନ୍ତି। କାରଣ ସେ ସକଳ ବସ୍ତୁର ଗଠନକାରୀ; ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅଧିକାର ସ୍ୱରୂପ ବଂଶ; ତାହାଙ୍କର ନାମ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ।

Not like them is he who is the portion of Jacob; He is the former of all things, And Israel is his allotted inheritance. Jehovah of hosts is his name.

20 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଗଦା ଓ ଯୁଦ୍ଧର ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ସ୍ୱରୂପ; ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ନାନା ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀଙ୍କୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ନାନା ରାଜ୍ୟକୁ ସଂହାର କରିବା;

Thou hast been to me my battle-hammer, My weapon of war. And with thee I broke in pieces the nations, And with thee I destroyed the kingdoms.

21 ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଓ ତଦାରୋହୀକୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା, ଆଉ ରଥ ଓ ତଦାରୋହୀକୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା;

And with thee I broke in pieces the horse and his rider, And with thee I broke in pieces the chariot and its driver.

22 ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଓ ବାଳକକୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯୁବକ ଓ ଯୁବତୀକି ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା;

With thee I broke in pieces man and woman, And with thee I broke in pieces the old and the young, And with thee I broke in pieces the young man and the maiden.

23 ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ ପାଳକ ଓ ତାହାର ପଲକୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ କୃଷକକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ହଳ ବଳଦକୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା; ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଦେଶାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଓ ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା।

With thee I broke in pieces the shepherd and his flock, And with thee I broke in pieces the husbandman and his team; And with thee I broke in pieces prefects and governors.

24 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲକୁ ଓ କଲ୍‍ଦୀୟ ନିବାସୀସକଳକୁ, ସିୟୋନରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିଗୋଚରରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କୃତ ସକଳ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମର ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବା, ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି।

But now before your eyes will I repay to Babylon, And to all the inhabitants of Chaldaea, All the evil which they have done in Zion, saith Jehovah.

25 ହେ ବିନାଶକ ପର୍ବତ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମୁଦାୟ ପୃଥିବୀକୁ ବିନାଶ କରୁଅଛ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ବିପକ୍ଷ ଅଟୁ; ଆଉ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ବିସ୍ତାର କରିବା ଓ ଶୈଳରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଗଡ଼ାଇ ପକାଇ ଏକ ଦଗ୍ଧ ପର୍ବତ କରିବା।

O thou destroying mountain, that destroyest the whole earth, Behold, I am against thee, saith Jehovah! And I will stretch out my hand against thee, And roll thee down from the rocks, And make thee a burnt mountain,

26 ଆଉ, ଲୋକମାନେ କୋଣ କିଅବା ଭିତ୍ତିମୂଳ ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ନେବେ ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଚିରକାଳ ଧ୍ୱଂସସ୍ଥାନ ହୋଇ ରହିବ।

So that none shall take from thee a corner-stone, or a foundation-stone; But thou shalt be a perpetual desolation, saith Jehovah.

27 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦେଶରେ ଧ୍ୱଜା ସ୍ଥାପନ କର, ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୂରୀ ବଜାଅ, ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର, ଆରାରାଟ୍‍, ମିନ୍ନି ଓ ଅସ୍କିନସ୍‍, ଏହିସବୁ ରାଜ୍ୟକୁ ତାହାର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଏକତ୍ର ଡାକ, ତାହାର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସେନାପତି ବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କର ଓ କର୍କଶ ପତଙ୍ଗ ପରି ଅଶ୍ୱଗଣକୁ ପଠାଅ।

Set ye up a standard in the land, Sound a trumpet among the nations; Enlist the nations against Babylon, Call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; Appoint captains against her, Cause the horses to come up like the bristled locusts!

28 ତାହାର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ, ମାଦୀୟ ରାଜାଗଣଙ୍କୁ, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଦେଶାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଓ ତହିଁର ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଓ ତାହାର କର୍ତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱାଧୀନ ସମୁଦାୟ ଦେଶକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର।

Enlist ye against her the nations, The kings of the Medes, and their prefects, And all their governors, And all the lands under their dominion,

29 ପୁଣି, ଦେଶ କମ୍ପିତ ଓ ବେଦନାଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହେଉଅଛି, କାରଣ ବାବିଲ ଦେଶକୁ ଧ୍ୱଂସିତ ଓ ନିବାସୀଶୂନ୍ୟ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ବାବିଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସଂକଳ୍ପ ସଫଳ ହେଉଅଛି।

So that the earth shall tremble and quake! For the purpose of Jehovah against Babylon is to be fulfilled, To make the land of Babylon a desolation, without an inhabitant.

30 ବାବିଲର ବୀରଗଣ ଯୁଦ୍ଧରୁ କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ଗଡ଼ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ରହୁଛନ୍ତି; ସେମାନଙ୍କର ବଳ ଊଣା ହୋଇଅଛି; ସେମାନେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ସମାନ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାର ବାସସ୍ଥାନସବୁ ଦଗ୍ଧ, ତାହାର ହୁଡ଼କାସବୁ ଭଗ୍ନ ହୋଇଅଛି।

The mighty men of Babylon refuse to fight; They remain in their stronghold; Their strength hath failed; They have become women; Her habitations are burned; Her bars are broken.

31 ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ନଗର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ହସ୍ତଗତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ଏହି ସମ୍ବାଦ ତାହାକୁ ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏକ ଧାଉଡ଼ିଆ ଅନ୍ୟ ଧାଉଡ଼ିଆର ଓ ଏକ ଦୂତ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦୂତ ସହିତ ଭେଟିବାକୁ ଦୌଡ଼ିବେ,

Courier runs to meet courier, And messenger to meet messenger, To make known to the king of Babylon, That his city is taken from end to end;

32 ପୁଣି, ପାରଘାଟସବୁ ହସ୍ତଗତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ନଳବଣସବୁ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ ଓ ଯୋଦ୍ଧାମାନେ ଭୟଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି।

That the passages are taken, That the reeds are burned with fire, And that the men of war are struck with terror.

33 କାରଣ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ବାବିଲର କନ୍ୟା ଶସ୍ୟମର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ସମୟର ଖଳା ସ୍ୱରୂପ; ଆଉ, ଅଳ୍ପ କାଳ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତାହା ପାଇଁ ଶସ୍ୟଚ୍ଛେଦନର ସମୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବ।”

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon shall be like a thrashing-floor when it is thrashed; Yet a little while, and the time of harvest for her shall come.

34 “ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍‍ନିତ୍ସର ମୋତେ ଗ୍ରାସ କରିଅଛି, ସେ ମୋତେ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିଅଛି, ସେ ମୋତେ ଶୂନ୍ୟପାତ୍ର ସ୍ୱରୂପ କରିଅଛି, ସେ ନାଗସର୍ପ ପରି ମୋତେ ଗ୍ରାସ କରିଅଛି, ମୋହର ସୁଖାଦ୍ୟ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟରେ ସେ ଉଦର ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିଅଛି, ସେ ମୋତେ ଦୂର କରିଦେଇଅଛି।”

Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, hath devoured us; He hath made an end of us; He hath made us empty vessels; He hath swallowed us up like a dragon; He hath filled his maw with our delicacies; He hath cast us out.

35 ସିୟୋନ ନିବାସିନୀ କହିବ, “ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଓ ମୋʼ ମାଂସ ପ୍ରତି କୃତ ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ବାବିଲ ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତୁ” ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ କହିବ, “ମୋʼ ରକ୍ତର ଦାୟ କଲ୍‍ଦୀୟ ନିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତୁ।”

“The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon!” Shall the inhabitant of Zion say; And, “My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldaeans!” shall Jerusalem say.

36 ଏହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, “ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ବିବାଦ ନିଷ୍ପନ୍ନ କରିବା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରତିଶୋଧ ନେବା। ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ସମୁଦ୍ରକୁ ଜଳଶୂନ୍ୟ ଓ ତାହାର ନିର୍ଝରକୁ ଶୁଷ୍କ କରିବା।

Therefore, thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will maintain thy cause, And take vengeance for thee; And I will dry up her sea, And make her springs dry.

37 ପୁଣି, ବାବିଲ ଢିପିମୟ ଶୃଗାଳମାନର ବାସସ୍ଥାନ, ବିସ୍ମୟାସ୍ପଦ, ଶୀସ୍‍ ଶବ୍ଦର ବିଷୟ ଓ ନିବାସୀବିହୀନ ହେବ।

And Babylon shall become heaps, The dwelling-place of jackals, An astonishment and a hissing, Without an inhabitant.

38 ସେମାନେ ଏକତ୍ର ଯୁବା ସିଂହ ପରି ଗର୍ଜ୍ଜନ କରିବେ; ସେମାନେ ସିଂହଛୁଆ ପରି ଘୋରନାଦ କରିବେ।

Together shall they roar like lions; They shall yell like lions' whelps.

39 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଉତ୍ତପ୍ତ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଭୋଜ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବା, ପୁଣି ସେମାନେ ଯେପରି ଆହ୍ଲାଦିତ ହେବେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ମତ୍ତ କରିବା, ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଚିର ନିଦ୍ରାରେ ନିଦ୍ରିତ ହୋଇ ଆଉ ଜାଗରିତ ହେବେ ନାହିଁ।

In their heat I will prepare them a drink, And will make them drunk, so that they shall rejoice, And then sleep an everlasting sleep, And awake no more, saith Jehovah.

40 ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ମେଷଗଣର ତୁଲ୍ୟ, ଛାଗମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ମେଷଗଣର ତୁଲ୍ୟ ବଧ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆଣିବା।

I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, Like rams with he-goats.

41 ଶେଶକ୍‍ କିପରି ପରହସ୍ତଗତ ହୋଇଅଛି! ଓ ସମୁଦାୟ ପୃଥିବୀର ପ୍ରଶଂସାପାତ୍ର କିପରି ହଠାତ୍‍ ଧରା ପଡ଼ିଅଛି! ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀସମୂହର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାବିଲ କିପରି ଧ୍ୱଂସସ୍ଥାନ ହୋଇଅଛି!

How is Sheshach taken! How is the praise of the whole earth fallen! How is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!

42 ବାବିଲ ଉପରେ ସମୁଦ୍ର ମାଡ଼ି ଆସିଅଛି; ସେ ତହିଁର ଲହରୀମାଳାରେ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦିତ ହୋଇଅଛି।

The sea is come up over Babylon; With the roaring of its waves is she covered.

43 ତାହାର ନଗରସକଳ ଧ୍ୱଂସସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ଶୁଷ୍କ ଭୂମି ଓ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ହୋଇଅଛି, ସେ ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ବାସ କରେ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟଦେଇ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ ଗମନାଗମନ କରେ ନାହିଁ।

Her cities have become a desolation, A dry land and a desert, A land in which no man dwelleth, And which no son of man passeth through.

44 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲରେ ବେଲ୍ ଦେବତାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବା ଓ ଯାହା ସେ ଗିଳିଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ମୁଖରୁ ତାହା ବାହାର କରିବା ଓ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନେ ଆଉ ତାହା ନିକଟକୁ ଧାବମାନ ହେବେ ନାହିଁ; ଆହୁରି ବାବିଲର ପ୍ରାଚୀର ପଡ଼ିଯିବ।

I will punish Bel at Babylon, And bring forth from his mouth that which he hath swallowed, And the nations shall flow to him no more; Even the wall of Babylon shall fall.

45 ହେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଲୋକେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାର ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ବାହାରି ଯାଅ ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ କ୍ରୋଧରୁ ଆପଣା ଆପଣାକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରୁ।

Go ye out of her, my people, And save ye every man his life From the fierce anger of Jehovah!

46 ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ହୃଦୟକୁ କ୍ଷୀଣ ହେବାକୁ ଦିଅ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯେଉଁ ଜନରବ ଶୁଣାଯିବ, ତହିଁ ସକାଶୁ ଭୀତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ଏକ ବର୍ଷ ଏକ ଜନରବ ଉଠିବ, ଅନ୍ୟ ବର୍ଷ ଅନ୍ୟ ଏକ ଜନରବ ଉଠିବ, ପୁଣି ଦେଶରେ ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ଓ ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତାର ବିପକ୍ଷ ହେବ।

And let not your heart faint, And fear ye not on account of the rumors which are heard in the land, When in one year a rumor cometh, And after it in another year another rumor, And violence is in the land, Ruler against ruler.

47 ଏହେତୁ ଦେଖ, ଯେଉଁ ସମୟରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲର ଖୋଦିତ ପ୍ରତିମାଗଣକୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବା ଓ ତାହାର ସମୁଦାୟ ଦେଶ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହେବ, ଆଉ ତାହାର ହତ ଲୋକମାନେ ତାହା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପଡ଼ିବେ, ଏପରି ସମୟ ଆସୁଅଛି।

Therefore, behold the days come When I will punish the graven images of Babylon, And her whole land shall be confounded; And all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

48 ସେସମୟରେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀ ଓ ତନ୍ମଧ୍ୟସ୍ଥିତସକଳ ବାବିଲ ବିଷୟରେ ଆନନ୍ଦଗାନ କରିବେ; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଗରୁ ବିନାଶକଗଣ ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆସିବେ।

Then the heavens shall shout over Babylon, And the earth and all that is therein; For out of the North come spoilers against her, saith Jehovah.

49 ବାବିଲ ଯେପରି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ହତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିପାତିତ କରାଇଅଛି, ସେପରି ସମୁଦାୟ ଦେଶର ହତ ଲୋକମାନେ ବାବିଲରେ ପତିତ ହେବେ।

As Babylon caused the slain of Israel to fall, So at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the land.

50 ହେ ଖଡ୍ଗରୁ ରକ୍ଷାପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଚାଲିଯାଅ, ସ୍ଥିର ହୋଇ ଠିଆ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ! ଦୂର ଦେଶରୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ମରଣ କର ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମନରେ ପଡ଼ୁ।

Ye that have escaped her sword, go! Tarry not! Remember Jehovah afar off, And let Jerusalem come into your mind!

51 ‘ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିନ୍ଦା କଥା ଶୁଣିବାରୁ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହୋଇଅଛୁ; ଅପମାନ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମୁଖକୁ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦିତ କରିଅଛି; କାରଣ ବିଦେଶୀମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହର ସକଳ ପବିତ୍ର ସ୍ଥାନରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।’

We have been confounded, because we have heard reproach; Shame hath covered our faces, For strangers have come into the sanctuaries of the house of Jehovah.

52 ଏଣୁକରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଯେଉଁ ସମୟରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ଖୋଦିତ ପ୍ରତିମାଗଣକୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବା, ଏପରି ସମୟ ଆସୁଅଛି ଓ କ୍ଷତବିକ୍ଷତ ଲୋକମାନେ ତାହାର ଦେଶର ସର୍ବତ୍ର କାତରୋକ୍ତି କରିବେ।

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, When I will punish her graven images, And through all her land shall the wounded groan.

53 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଯଦ୍ୟପି ବାବିଲ ଆକାଶ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଉଠିବ, ଆଉ ଯଦ୍ୟପି ସେ ଆପଣା ବଳରୂପ ଉଚ୍ଚ ଦୁର୍ଗକୁ ଦୃଢ଼ କରିବ, ତଥାପି ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରୁ ବିନାଶକମାନେ ତାହାର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବେ।

Though Babylon should mount up to the heavens, And make inaccessible the height of her strength, Yet from me shall spoilers come upon her, saith Jehovah.

54 ବାବିଲରୁ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନର ରବ ଓ କଲ୍‍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶରୁ ମହାବିନାଶର ଶବ୍ଦ ଉଠୁଅଛି!

Hark! a cry from Babylon, Of great destruction from the land of the Chaldaeans!

55 କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ମହାରବ କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି; ସେମାନଙ୍କର ତରଙ୍ଗସକଳ ଜଳରାଶି ପରି ଗର୍ଜ୍ଜନ କରୁଅଛି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର କଲ୍ଲୋଳ ଧ୍ୱନି ଶୁଣା ଯାଉଅଛି।

For Jehovah destroyeth Babylon, And bringeth to silence her loud tumult; Their waves roar like great waters; Their tumultuous noise resounds.

56 କାରଣ ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ, ହଁ, ବାବିଲର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବିନାଶକ ଆସିଅଛି ଓ ତାହାର ବୀରମାନେ ଧରା ଯାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଧନୁସବୁ ଖଣ୍ଡ ଖଣ୍ଡ ହୋଇ ଭଙ୍ଗା ଯାଇଅଛି; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳଦାତା ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟନ୍ତି, ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ସମୁଚିତ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବେ।

For the spoiler is come upon her, upon Babylon; And their mighty men are taken, And all their bows are broken; For Jehovah is a God of retribution; He will surely requite.

57 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତାହାର ଦେଶାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଓ ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ବୀରପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ମତ୍ତ କରାଇବା; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଚିର ନିଦ୍ରାରେ ନିଦ୍ରିତ ହୋଇ ଆଉ ଜାଗରିତ ହେବେ ନାହିଁ ଏହା ରାଜା କହନ୍ତି, ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ନାମ।

And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, Her prefects, and her governors, and her mighty men; And they shall sleep an everlasting sleep, And shall no more awake, saith the King, Whose name is Jehovah of hosts.

58 ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ବାବିଲର ପ୍ରଶସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଚୀର ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଉତ୍ପାଟିତ ହେବ ଓ ତାହାର ଉଚ୍ଚ ଦ୍ୱାରସବୁ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ଲୋକବୃନ୍ଦ ଅସାରତାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଓ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀଗଣ ଅଗ୍ନି ନିମନ୍ତେ ପରିଶ୍ରମ କରିବେ; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ କ୍ଳାନ୍ତ ହେବେ।”

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: The broad walls of Babylon shall be razed to the foundations, And her high gates shall be burned with fire; So that nations shall have labored for naught, And kingdoms have wearied themselves for fire.

59 ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ଵର ଚତୁର୍ଥ ବର୍ଷରେ ମହସେୟର ପୌତ୍ର ନେରୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ସରାୟ ଯେଉଁ ସମୟରେ ରାଜା ସଙ୍ଗେ ବାବିଲକୁ ଗଲା, ସେ ସମୟରେ ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍‍ବକ୍ତା ସରାୟକୁ ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ, ତହିଁର ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ। ଏହି ସରାୟ ରାଜଗୃହର ପ୍ରଧାନ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଥିଲା।

The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah, the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah, the king of Judah, into Babylon, in the fourth year of his reign. This Seraiah was chief chamberlain.

60 ଆଉ, ବାବିଲର ଭବିଷ୍ୟତ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳର ସକଳ କଥା, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ବାବିଲ ବିଷୟରେ ଏହି ଯେସକଳ କଥା ଲିଖିତ ଅଛି, ତାହା ଯିରିମୀୟ ଗୋଟିଏ ନଳାକାର ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଲେଖିଲେ।

And Jeremiah wrote all the evil that was to come upon Babylon in one book, all these words that are written concerning Babylon.

61 ପୁଣି, ଯିରିମୀୟ ସରାୟକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା ପାଠ କରିବ,

And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon, see that thou read all these words,

62 ଆଉ କହିବ, ‘ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ ବିଷୟରେ କହିଅଛ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ କରିବ, ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ କି ପଶୁ କେହି ବାସ କରିବ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ତାହା ଚିରକାଳ ଧ୍ୱଂସସ୍ଥାନ ହେବ।’

and say, O Jehovah, thou hast spoken against this place to destroy it, so that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall remain desolate forever!

63 ପୁଣି, ଏହି ନଳାକାର ପୁସ୍ତକ ପାଠ କରିବାର ସମାପ୍ତ କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତହିଁରେ ଖଣ୍ଡେ ପଥର ବାନ୍ଧି ଫରାତ୍‍ ନଦୀର ମଧ୍ୟସ୍ଥାନରେ ତାହା ପକାଇ ଦେବ;

And when thou hast made an end of reading this book, bind a stone upon it, and cast it into the midst of the Euphrates,

64 ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କହିବ, ‘ଆମ୍ଭେ (ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ) ବାବିଲ ଉପରେ ଯେଉଁ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଘଟାଇବା, ତହିଁ ସକାଶୁ ସେ ଏରୂପ ମଗ୍ନ ହୋଇ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଉଠିବ ନାହିଁ; ପୁଣି, ଲୋକମାନେ କ୍ଳାନ୍ତ ହେବେ।’” ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଏତିକି।

and say: So shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise again from the evil which I bring upon her. And they shall utterly fail. Thus far the words of Jeremiah.
