ଯିରିମୀୟ 13

1 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ ଏହି କଥା କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଇ ମସିନା ନିର୍ମିତ ଏକ ପଟୁକା କିଣି ତାହା ଆପଣା କଟିଦେଶରେ ବାନ୍ଧ ଓ ଜଳରେ ତାହା ରଖ ନାହିଁ।”

Thus said YHWH to me: “Go, and you have acquired a girdle of linen for yourself, and have placed it on your loins, and you do not cause it to enter into water.”

2 ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ଏକ ପଟୁକା କିଣି ଆପଣା କଟିଦେଶରେ ବାନ୍ଧିଲି।

And I get the girdle, according to the word of YHWH, and I place [it] on my loins.

3 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଥର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା,

And there is a word of YHWH to me a second time, saying,

4 “ଯଥା, ଉଠ, ତୁମ୍ଭ କଟିଦେଶରେ ଥିବା ଯେଉଁ ପଟୁକା ତୁମ୍ଭେ କିଣିଅଛ, ତାହା ନେଇ ଫରାତ୍‍ ନଦୀ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ, ସେଠାସ୍ଥିତ ଏକ ଶୈଳ ଛିଦ୍ରରେ ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖ।”

“Take the girdle that you have acquired, that [is] on your loins, and rise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock”;

5 ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାନୁସାରେ ମୁଁ ଯାଇ ଫରାତ୍‍ ନଦୀ ନିକଟରେ ତାହା ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖିଲି।

and I go and hide it by the Euphrates, as YHWH commanded me.

6 ପୁଣି, ଅନେକ ଦିନ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଉଠି ଫରାତ୍‍ ନଦୀ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଅ ଓ ଯେଉଁ ପଟୁକା ସେଠାରେ ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆଜ୍ଞା କଲୁ, ତାହା ସେଠାରୁ ନିଅ।”

And it comes to pass, at the end of many days, that YHWH says to me, “Rise, go to the Euphrates, and take the girdle there, that I commanded you to hide there”;

7 ତେବେ ମୁଁ ଫରାତ୍‍ ନଦୀ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ ସେହି ପଟୁକା ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖିଥିବା ସ୍ଥାନ ଖୋଳି ତାହା ନେଲି; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସେ ପଟୁକା ନଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇଅଛି, ତାହା ଆଉ କୌଣସି କର୍ମର ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ।

and I go to the Euphrates, and dig, and take the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and behold, the girdle has been marred, it is not profitable for anything.

8 ତେବେ “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା,

And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying, “Thus said YHWH:

9 ଯଥା, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଦର୍ପ ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ମହାଦର୍ପ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା।

Thus I mar the excellence of Judah, And the great excellence of Jerusalem.

10 ଏହି ଯେଉଁ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଅସମ୍ମତ ହୋଇ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣର ଅବାଧ୍ୟତାନୁସାରେ ଚାଲନ୍ତି ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେବଗଣର ସେବା ଓ ପୂଜା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍‍ଗମନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଏହି ଅକର୍ମଣ୍ୟ ପଟୁକା ତୁଲ୍ୟ ହେବେ।

This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, Who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, And go after other gods to serve them, And to bow themselves to them, Indeed it is—as this girdle, that is not profitable for anything.

11 କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ମନୁଷ୍ୟର କଟିଦେଶରେ ପଟୁକା ଯେରୂପ ସଂଲଗ୍ନ ଥାଏ, ତଦ୍ରୂପ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଓ ସମୁଦାୟ ଯିହୁଦା-ବଂଶକୁ ଆମ୍ଭର ଲୋକ, କୀର୍ତ୍ତି, ପ୍ରଶଂସା ଓ ଗୌରବ ସ୍ୱରୂପ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭଠାରେ ସଂଲଗ୍ନ କରାଇଲୁ; ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ କଥା ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଅସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ।

For as the girdle cleaves to the loins of a man, So I caused to cleave to Me The whole house of Israel, And the whole house of Judah,” A declaration of YHWH, “To be to Me for a people, and for a name, And for praise, and for beauty, And they have not listened.

12 ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିବ, ‘ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ କଳସ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରାଯିବ;’ ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହିବେ, ‘ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ କଳସ ଯେ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରାଯିବ, ଏହା କʼଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣୁ ନାହୁଁ?’

And you have said this word to them, Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Every bottle is full of wine, And they have said to you: Do we not certainly know that every bottle is full of wine?

13 ସେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବ, ‘ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ଦେଶ ନିବାସୀ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍ ଦାଉଦର ସିଂହାସନୋପବିଷ୍ଟ ରାଜାଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କୁ, ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍‍ବକ୍ତାଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ନିବାସୀ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ମତ୍ତତାରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା।

And you have said to them, Thus said YHWH: Behold, I am filling all the inhabitants of this land, And the kings who sit for David on his throne, And the priests, and the prophets, And all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [With] drunkenness,

14 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଏକ ଜଣକୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣର ଉପରେ, ହଁ, ପିତୃଗଣକୁ ଓ ପୁତ୍ରଗଣକୁ ଏକ ସଙ୍ଗେ କଚାଡ଼ି ପକାଇବା, ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି; ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କୃପା କିଅବା ଦୟା ଅଥବା କରୁଣା ନ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନଷ୍ଟ କରିବା।’”

And have dashed them against one another, And the fathers and the sons together,” A declaration of YHWH, “I do not pity, nor spare, nor do I have mercy, So as not to destroy them.”

15 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଶୁଣ ଓ କର୍ଣ୍ଣପାତ କର; ଅହଙ୍କାର କର ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କଥା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି।

Hear, and give ear—do not be haughty, For YHWH has spoken.

16 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅନ୍ଧକାର ଉପସ୍ଥିତ କରିବା ପୂର୍ବେ ଓ ଅନ୍ଧକାରମୟ ପର୍ବତରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଚରଣ ଝୁଣ୍ଟିବା ପୂର୍ବେ; ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆଲୁଅର ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରୁ କରୁ ସେ ତାହା ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁଚ୍ଛାୟାରେ ଓ ଘୋର ଅନ୍ଧକାରରେ ପରିଣତ କରିବା ପୂର୍ବେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଗୌରବ ଦିଅ।

Give glory to your God YHWH, Before He causes darkness, And before your feet stumble on dark mountains, And you have waited for light, And He has made it for death-shade, And has appointed [it] for thick darkness.

17 ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏ କଥା ଶୁଣିବ ନାହିଁ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅହଙ୍କାର ସକାଶୁ ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ନିରୋଳା ସ୍ଥାନରେ ରୋଦନ କରିବ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପଲ ବନ୍ଦୀ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ନୀତ ହେବା ସକାଶୁ ମୋହର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଅତିଶୟ ରୋଦନ କରି ଅଶ୍ରୁଧାରା ବୁହାଇବ।

And if you do not hear it, My soul weeps in secret places, because of pride, Indeed, it weeps and wails, And the tear comes down my eyes, For the flock of YHWH has been taken captive.

18 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ରାଜାକୁ ଓ ରାଜମାତାକୁ କୁହ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ନମ୍ର କରି ବସ; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମସ୍ତକାଭରଣ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ଗୌରବ ମୁକୁଟ ତଳେ ପଡ଼ିଅଛି।

Say to the king and to the mistress: Make yourselves low—sit still, For your principalities have come down, The crown of your beauty.

19 ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ପ୍ରଦେଶୀୟ ନଗରସବୁ ରୁଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇଅଛି ଓ ତାହା ଫିଟାଇବାକୁ କେହି ନାହିଁ; ସମୁଦାୟ ଯିହୁଦା ନିର୍ବାସିତ ହୋଇଅଛି; ତାହା ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ନିର୍ବାସିତ ହୋଇଅଛି।

The cities of the south have been shut up, And there is none opening, Judah has been removed—all of her, She has been completely removed—

20 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଖୋଲି ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଗରୁ ଆସନ୍ତା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖ; ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ପଲ ଦତ୍ତ ହୋଇଥିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେହି ସୁନ୍ଦର ପଲ କାହିଁ?

Lift up your eyes, and see those coming in from the north, Where [is] the drove given to you, your beautiful flock?

21 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିଜେ ଆପଣା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଇଅଛ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେହି ମିତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ମସ୍ତକ ସ୍ୱରୂପ କରି ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିବେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଅଣ କହିବ? ପ୍ରସବକାଳରେ ଯେପରି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ, ସେହିପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ବେଦନାଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ?

What do you say when He looks after you? And you have taught them [to be] over you—leaders for head? Do pangs not seize you as a travailing woman?

22 ପୁଣି ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମନେ ମନେ ପଚାରିବ, ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଏପରି ଦଶା କାହିଁକି ଘଟିଲା? (ତେବେ ଶୁଣ, ) ତୁମ୍ଭ ଅଧର୍ମର ବାହୁଲ୍ୟରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବସ୍ତ୍ରର ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ଉଠାଯାଇଅଛି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଗୋଇଠି ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ ଭୋଗ କରୁଅଛି।

And when you say in your heart, “Why have these met me?” For the abundance of your iniquity Have your skirts been uncovered, Have your heels suffered violence.

23 କୂଶୀୟ ଲୋକ କି ଆପଣା ଚର୍ମ ଓ ଚିତାବାଘ କି ଆପଣା ଚିତ୍ରବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବଦଳାଇ ପାରେ? ତାହାହେଲେ, କୁକର୍ମ କରିବାକୁ ଅଭ୍ୟସ୍ତ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ସୁକର୍ମ କରି ପାରିବ?

“Does a Cushite change his skin? And a leopard his spots? Can you also do good, who are accustomed to do evil?

24 ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରସ୍ଥ ବାୟୁ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଉଡ଼ନ୍ତା ନଡ଼ା ପରି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ କରି ପକାଇବା।

And I scatter them as stubble, Passing away, by a wind of the wilderness.

25 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ଏହି ତୁମ୍ଭର ବାଣ୍ଟ ଓ ପରିମିତ ଅଂଶ; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ପାସୋରିଅଛ ଓ ମିଥ୍ୟାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିଅଛ।

This [is] your lot, the portion of your measures from Me,” A declaration of YHWH, “Because you have forgotten Me, And trust in falsehood.

26 ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ହିଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବସ୍ତ୍ରର ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମୁଖ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଟେକିବା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଲଜ୍ଜା ଦେଖାଯିବ।

I have also made your skirts bare before your face, And your shame has been seen.

27 ଆମ୍ଭେ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରସ୍ଥ ଗିରିଗଣ ଉପରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଘୃଣ୍ୟ କର୍ମ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ବ୍ୟଭିଚାର, ତୁମ୍ଭର ହିଁ ହିଁ ହେବାର ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ବେଶ୍ୟାବୃତ୍ତିର ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ଦେଖିଅଛୁ। ହେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସନ୍ତାପର ପାତ୍ର! ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶୁଚିକୃତ ହେବାକୁ ମଙ୍ଗୁ ନାହଁ; ଆହୁରି କେତେ କାଳ ଏପରି ହେବ?”

Your adulteries, and your neighings, The wickedness of your whoredom, on heights in a field, I have seen your abominations. Woe to you, O Jerusalem, You are not [yet] made clean—after when [will you be] again?”
