ଯିଶାଇୟ 8
1 ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏକ ଖଣ୍ଡ ବୃହତ ଫଳକ ନେଇ ପ୍ରଚଳିତ ଅକ୍ଷରରେ ତହିଁ ଉପରେ ଏହି କଥା ଲେଖ, ମହେର-ଶାଲଲହାଶ୍-ବସ୍ (ଲୁଟିତ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଆସୁଅଛି, ଲୁଟିତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଗମନ କରୁଅଛି)”
Then Yahweh said to me, “Make a large signboard. And write clearly on it, ‘Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz’ [which means ‘quickly (plunder/take by force) and steal everything’].”
2 ଆଉ, ମୁଁ ପ୍ରମାଣର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଊରୀୟ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଯିବୋରିଖୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଜିଖରୀୟକୁ ଆପଣାର ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ସାକ୍ଷୀ କରିବି।
[So] I requested Uriah the [Supreme] Priest and Jeberekiah’s son Zechariah, men who were both honest/trustworthy witnesses, to watch me as I was doing that.
3 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୁଁ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସହ ଶୟନ କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଗର୍ଭବତୀ ହୋଇ ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କଲା। ତେବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ କହିଲେ, “ତାହାର ନାମ ମହେର-ଶାଲଲହାଶ୍-ବସ୍ ରଖ।
Then I had sex with [EUP] [my wife, who was] a prophetess, and she became pregnant and [then] gave birth to a son. Then Yahweh said to me, “Give him the name Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz (which means ‘suddenly attacked, quickly conquered’),
4 କାରଣ ବାଳକ ମୋହର ପିତା ଓ ମୋହର ମାତା ବୋଲି ଡାକିବା ପାଇଁ ଜ୍ଞାନ ପାଇବା ପୂର୍ବେ ଦମ୍ମେଶକ ଧନ ଓ ଶମରୀୟାର ଲୁଟିତ ଅଶୂର ରାଜାର ଆଗେ ଆଗେ ବହି ନିଆଯିବ।”
because before he is old enough to say ‘papa’ or ‘mama’, the King of Assyria will [come with his army and] quickly take away all the valuable things in Damascus and in Samaria.”
5 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ ପୁନର୍ବାର କହିଲେ,
Yahweh spoke to me again and said, “[Tell the people of Judah, ]
6 “ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଶୀଲୋହର ମନ୍ଦଗାମୀ ସ୍ରୋତ ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ କରି ରତ୍ସୀନ ଓ ରମଲୀୟର ପୁତ୍ରଠାରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି;
‘[I have taken good care of] you people, but you have rejected that, [thinking that] my help was very little, like [MET] the little canal through which water flows from the Gihon Spring into Jerusalem. Instead, you have been happy [to request help from] King Rezin and King Pekah.
7 ଏହେତୁ ଦେଖ, ପ୍ରଭୁ ଏବେ ନଦୀର ପ୍ରବଳ, ଅପାର ଜଳ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ଅଶୂରର ରାଜାକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରତାପକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଆଣୁଅଛନ୍ତି; ତହୁଁ ସେ ଆପଣାର ସମସ୍ତ ଜଳପ୍ରଣାଳୀ ଉପରେ ବଢ଼ି ଆପଣାର ବନ୍ଧ ଉପର ଦେଇ ଚାଲିଯିବ;
Therefore, I will cause the people of Judah to be attacked by [the powerful army of] the King of Assyria, which will be [like] a great flood from the [Euphrates] River. Their soldiers will [be everywhere in your country, like] a river that overflows all its banks.
8 ଆଉ, ସେ ପ୍ରବଳ ରୂପେ ଆଗକୁ ବଢ଼ି ଯିହୁଦା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯିବ; ସେ ଉଚ୍ଛୁଳି ଉଠି ବ୍ୟାପି ଯିବ; ସେ କଣ୍ଠସରିକି ଉଠିବ; ପୁଣି, ହେ ଇମ୍ମାନୁୟେଲ, ତାହାର ପକ୍ଷର ବିସ୍ତୃତି ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦେଶର ପ୍ରସ୍ଥ ବ୍ୟାପ୍ତ ହେବ।”
Those soldiers will go all over Judah— [like a river whose water] [MET] rises as high as a person’s neck. Their army will spread over the land [quickly], like an eagle, and they will cover your entire land! But I will be with you!’”
9 ହେ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀସମୂହ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କୋଳାହଳ କର, ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭଗ୍ନ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ହେ ଦୂରଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକ ସମସ୍ତେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କର୍ଣ୍ଣପାତ କର; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଟିବନ୍ଧନ କର, ମଧ୍ୟ ଭଗ୍ନ ହେବ।
Listen, all you [people in] distant countries! [You can] prepare to attack Judah. [You can] prepare [for battle, and shout your] war-cries, but your [armies will] be crushed/shattered!
10 ଏକତ୍ର ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣା କର, ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହା ନିଷ୍ଫଳ ହେବ; କଥା କୁହ, ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହା ସ୍ଥିର ହେବ ନାହିଁ; ଯେହେତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଅଛନ୍ତି।
[You can] prepare for what you will do [to attack Judah], but what you plan to do will not happen! You will not succeed, because God is with us!
11 କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପ୍ରବଳ ହସ୍ତରେ ଧରି ମୋତେ ଏହିପରି କହିଲେ ଓ ମୁଁ ଯେପରି ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପଥରେ ଗମନ ନ କରିବି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ମୋତେ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଇ କହିଲେ,
Yahweh strongly warned me [MTY] not to act like the [other] people in Judah did. He said to me,
12 ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେଉଁସବୁ ବିଷୟକୁ ଚକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ବୋଲି କହିବେ; “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେହି ସବୁକୁ ଚକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ବୋଲି କୁହ ନାହିଁ; କିଅବା ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଭୟ ବିଷୟକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ, ଅବା ତହିଁ ବିଷୟରେ ତ୍ରାସଯୁକ୍ତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
“Do not say that everything that people do is conspiring/rebelling [against the government], like [other] people say, and do not (be afraid of/worry about) the things that other people are afraid of.
13 ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ହିଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପବିତ୍ର ରୂପେ ମାନ୍ୟ କରିବ, ପୁଣି, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଭୟସ୍ଥାନ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ ଓ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ତ୍ରାସଭୂମି ହେଉନ୍ତୁ।
[I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, am the one you should consider to be holy. And I am the one you should fear, the one you should revere.
14 ତହିଁରେ ସେ ପବିତ୍ର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବେ, ମାତ୍ର ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଉଭୟ ବଂଶ ପ୍ରତି ବିଘ୍ନଜନକ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ଓ ବାଧାଜନକ ପାଷାଣ ହେବେ, ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ନିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଫାଶ ଓ ଫାନ୍ଦ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବେ।
I will protect you(sg). [But as for] the [other] people [MTY] in Israel and Judah, I will be [like] [MET] a stone that causes people to stumble, a rock that causes them to fall down. [And as for] the people of Jerusalem, I will be [like] [MET] a trap or a snare [DOU].
15 ଆଉ, ଅନେକ ଲୋକ ତଦ୍ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିଘ୍ନ ପାଇ ପତିତ ଓ ଭଗ୍ନ ହେବେ ଓ ଫାନ୍ଦରେ ପଡ଼ି ଧରାଯିବେ।”
Many [people] will stumble and fall down and never get up again. They will experience great troubles; they will be captured [by their enemies].”
16 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ପ୍ରମାଣ-ବାକ୍ୟ ବାନ୍ଧ, ମୋʼ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ମୁଦ୍ରାଙ୍କିତ କର।
[So, I say to you who are my disciples], seal up this scroll on which I have written the messages that God has given to me, and give his instructions to [others] who have accompanied me.
17 ପୁଣି, ଯେ ଯାକୁବ-ବଂଶଠାରୁ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କରନ୍ତି, ମୁଁ ସେହି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିବି ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଅନାଇ ରହିବି।
I will wait to see what Yahweh [will do]. He has rejected the descendants [MTY] of Jacob, but I will confidently expect him to help me.
18 ଦେଖ, ମୁଁ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମୋତେ ଦତ୍ତ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ସିୟୋନ ପର୍ବତ ନିବାସୀ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଚିହ୍ନ ଓ ଅଦ୍ଭୁତ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ଅଟୁ।
I and the children that Yahweh has given to me are [like] signs to warn [the people of] Israel; we are warnings from the Commander of the armies of angels the one who lives [in his temple] on Zion Hill [in Jerusalem].
19 ପୁଣି, ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବେ, “ଯେଉଁ ଭୂତୁଡ଼ିଆ ଓ ଗୁଣିଆମାନେ ଗଣ ଗଣ ଓ ଫୁସ୍ ଫୁସ୍ କରି କହନ୍ତି,” ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କର; (ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କୁହ) “ଲୋକମାନେ କʼଣ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ? ସେମାନେ କʼଣ ଜୀବିତମାନଙ୍କ ସପକ୍ଷରେ ମୃତମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କରିବେ?”
Some people may urge you(pl) to (consult/go and talk with) those who talk with the spirits of dead people or with those who say that they receive messages from those spirits. They whisper and mutter [about what we should do in the future]. But God is [RHQ] the one whom we should ask to guide us! It is ridiculous [RHQ] for people who are alive to request spirits of dead people to tell us [what we should do]!
20 ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଓ ପ୍ରମାଣ-ବାକ୍ୟରେ ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କର। ଯଦି ସେମାନେ ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ କଥା ନ କହନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅରୁଣୋଦୟ ନାହିଁ।
Pay attention to God’s instructions and teaching! If people do not say things that agree with what God teaches us, [what they say is worthless]. [It is as though] those people are in darkness.
21 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଅତି କଠିନ ଓ କ୍ଷୁଧିତ ହୋଇ ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟଦେଇ ଗମନ କରିବେ, ଆଉ କ୍ଷୁଧିତ ହେଲେ, ସେମାନେ ବିରକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଓ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେଇ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱ ଆଡ଼କୁ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମୁଖ କରିବେ;
They will wander through the land, worried/discouraged and hungry. And when they become [very] hungry, they will become very angry. They will look up [toward heaven] and curse God and [will also] curse their king.
22 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଭୂମି ଆଡ଼େ ନିରୀକ୍ଷଣ କରିବେ, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସଙ୍କଟ ଓ ଅନ୍ଧକାର, ଯାତନାରୂପ ତିମିର; ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ନିବିଡ଼ ଅନ୍ଧକାରକୁ ତାଡ଼ିତ ହେବେ।
They will look around the land and see only trouble/distress and darkness and things that cause them to despair. And [then] they will be thrown into the very black darkness [of hell]. (questioned)
