ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ଲିଖିତ ପ୍ରଥମ ପୁସ୍ତକ 20
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅବ୍ରହାମ ସେଠାରୁ ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଦେଶକୁ ଯାତ୍ରା କରି କାଦେଶ ଓ ଶୂରର ମଧ୍ୟସ୍ଥାନରେ ଥାଇ ଗରାରରେ ପ୍ରବାସ କଲେ।
And Abraham journeyed from there toward the land of the South, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur. And he sojourned in Gerar.
2 ପୁଣି, ଅବ୍ରହାମ ଆପଣା ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ସାରା ବିଷୟରେ କହିଲେ, “ସେ ମୋହର ଭଗିନୀ;” ଏହେତୁ ଗରାରର ରାଜା ଅବିମେଲକ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ସାରାକୁ ନେଇଗଲେ।
And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister. And Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
3 ତହୁଁ ରାତ୍ରିକାଳରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସ୍ୱପ୍ନ ଯୋଗେ ଅବିମେଲକଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୃତକଳ୍ପ, କାରଣ ସେହି ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନେଇଅଛ, ତାହାର ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଅଛି।”
But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, Behold, thou are but a dead man, because of the woman whom thou have taken, for she is a man's wife.
4 ମାତ୍ର ଅବିମେଲକ ତାହାର ସହବାସ କରି ନ ଥିବାରୁ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକେ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ହିଁ କି ଆପଣ ବଧ କରିବେ?
Now Abimelech had not come near her. And he said, Lord, will thou slay even a righteous nation?
5 ସେହି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କି ନିଜେ ମୋତେ କହି ନ ଥିଲା ଯେ, ସେ ମୋହର ଭଗିନୀ? ପୁଣି, ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ନିଜେ କହିଲା କି ସେ ମୋହର ଭ୍ରାତା; ଏଣୁ ମନର ସରଳତା ଓ ହସ୍ତର ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷତାରେ ମୁଁ ଏହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଅଛି।”
Did he not himself say to me, She is my sister? And she, even she herself said, He is my brother. In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.
6 ତେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସ୍ୱପ୍ନ ଯୋଗେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମନର ସରଳତାରେ ଏହି କର୍ମ କରିଅଛ; ଏହା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ; ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ କରିବାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବାରଣ କଲୁ; ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରିବାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଦେଲୁ ନାହିଁ।
And God said to him in the dream, Yes, I know that in the integrity of thy heart thou have done this. And I also withheld thee from sinning against me. Therefore I did not allow thee to touch her.
7 ଏହେତୁ ଏବେ ସେହି ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ଫେରାଇ ଦିଅ; ଯେହେତୁ ସେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଲାଗି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବ, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ; ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି ତାଙ୍କୁ ଫେରାଇ ନ ଦେବ, ତେବେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସପରିବାରରେ ମରିବ, ଏହା ଜାଣିଥାଅ।”
Now therefore restore the man's wife. For he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shall live. And if thou do not restore her, know thou that thou shall surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
8 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅବିମେଲକ ପ୍ରଭାତରେ ଉଠି ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି ଏସବୁ ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କର୍ଣ୍ଣଗୋଚର କରନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ଅତି ଭୟାକୁଳ ହେଲେ।
And Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ear. And the men were exceedingly afraid.
9 ତହିଁରେ ଅବିମେଲକ ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଏ କି ବ୍ୟବହାର କଲ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭର ରାଜ୍ୟକୁ ମହା ପାପଗ୍ରସ୍ତ କଲ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଏପରି କି ଦୋଷ କରିଅଛୁ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଅକର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ କର୍ମ କଲ।”
Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, What have thou done to us? And in what have I sinned against thee, that thou have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? Thou have done deeds to me that ought not to be done.
10 ଅବିମେଲକ ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କୁ ଆହୁରି କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ କʼଣ ଦେଖି ଏରୂପ କର୍ମ କଲ?”
And Abimelech said to Abraham, What did thou see, that thou have done this thing?
11 ସେତେବେଳେ ଅବ୍ରହାମ କହିଲେ, “ଏ ଦେଶରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କିଛି ଭୟ ନାହିଁ; ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ଭାବିଲି, ଏମାନେ ଅବା ମୋହର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଲୋଭରେ ମୋତେ ବଧ କରିବେ।
And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.
12 ସେ ମୋହର ଭଗିନୀ, ଏହା ସତ୍ୟ, ଯେହେତୁ ସେ ମୋହର ପିତୃକନ୍ୟା, ମାତୃକନ୍ୟା ନୁହେଁ, ପୁଣି, ମୋହର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ହେଲା।
And moreover she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife.
13 ଯେତେବେଳେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋତେ ପୈତୃକ ଗୃହରୁ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରାଇଲେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ମୁଁ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲି, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଏହି ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ କରିବ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯିବୁ, ସେହି ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଭାଇ ବୋଲି ପରିଚୟ ଦେବ।’”
And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said to her, This is thy kindness which thou shall show to me. At every place where we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
14 ସେତେବେଳେ ଅବିମେଲକ ମେଷ ଓ ଗୋରୁ ଓ ଦାସଦାସୀ ଅଣାଇ ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କୁ ଦେଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ସାରାକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଫେରାଇ ଦେଲେ।
And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and men-servants and women-servants, and gave them to Abraham, and restored to him Sarah his wife.
15 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅବିମେଲକ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭର ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ଇଚ୍ଛା, ସେହିଠାରେ ବାସ କର।”
And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee. Dwell where it pleases thee.
16 ପୁଣି, ସେ ସାରାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭ୍ରାତାକୁ ସହସ୍ର ଖଣ୍ଡ ରୂପା ଦେଲୁ; ଦେଖ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟିଥିବା ସକଳ ବିଷୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଚକ୍ଷୁର ଆବରଣ ସ୍ୱରୂପ; ଆଉ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ନ୍ୟାୟବିଚାର କରାଗଲା।”
And to Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for thee a covering of the eyes to all who are with thee. And in regard to all thou are righted.
17 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅବ୍ରହାମ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରନ୍ତେ, ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅବିମେଲକଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ଦାସୀଗଣକୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନସନ୍ତତି ଜାତ ହେଲେ।
And Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maid-servants. And they bore sons.
18 ଯେହେତୁ ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ସାରା ସକାଶେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅବିମେଲକଙ୍କ ଗୃହସ୍ଥିତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଗର୍ଭରୋଧ କରିଥିଲେ।
For Jehovah had closed up fast all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.
