ଯିହିଜିକଲ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦବକ୍ତାଙ୍କ ପୁସ୍ତକ 17
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା,
Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 “ହେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ ନିକଟରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ପ୍ରହେଳିକା ଉତ୍ଥାପନ କର ଓ ଏକ ଦୃଷ୍ଟାନ୍ତ କଥା କୁହ;
“Son of man, pose a riddle; speak a parable to the house of Israel
3 ତୁମ୍ଭେ କୁହ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଗୋଟିଏ ବଡ଼ ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶ ପକ୍ଷୀର ପକ୍ଷ ଥିଲା, ତାହାର ପକ୍ଷ ବଡ଼, ଡେଣା ଦୀର୍ଘ ଓ ଚିତ୍ରବିଚିତ୍ର ଲୋମରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ, ସେ ଲିବାନୋନକୁ ଆସି ଏରସ ବୃକ୍ଷର ଅଗ୍ରଭାଗ ନେଇଗଲା:
and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘A great eagle with great wings and long pinions, full of feathers of many colors, came to Lebanon and took away the top of the cedar.
4 ସେ ତହିଁର ସାନ ସାନ ପଲ୍ଲବର ଉଚ୍ଚତମ ପଲ୍ଲବ କାଟି ବାଣିଜ୍ୟ ଦେଶକୁ ନେଇ ବଣିକମାନଙ୍କର ଗୋଟିଏ ନଗରରେ ରଖିଲା।
He plucked off its topmost shoot, carried it to the land of merchants, and planted it in a city of traders.
5 ଆହୁରି, ସେ ଦେଶର ବୀଜ ନେଇ ଏକ ଉର୍ବର ଭୂମିରେ ତାହା ରୋପଣ କଲା; ସେ ଜଳରାଶିର ନିକଟରେ ବାଇଶୀ ବୃକ୍ଷ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ତାହା ରୋପଣ କଲା।
He took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fertile soil; he placed it by abundant waters and set it out like a willow.
6 ତହୁଁ ତାହା ବଢ଼ି ଅଳ୍ପ ଉଚ୍ଚ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଲତା ପରି ବଢ଼ିଲା, ତହିଁର ଶାଖାସବୁ ତାହାର ସମ୍ମୁଖ ହେଲା ଓ ତହିଁର ମୂଳ ତାହାର ତଳେ ରହିଲା; ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ତାହା ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଲତା ହୋଇ ଶାଖାବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଓ ପଲ୍ଲବିତ ହେଲା।
It sprouted and became a spreading vine, low in height, with branches turned toward him; yet its roots remained where it stood. So it became a vine and yielded branches and sent out shoots.
7 ପୁଣି, ଆଉ ଗୋଟିଏ ବଡ଼ ବଡ଼ ପକ୍ଷ ଓ ଅନେକ ଲୋମବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ବୃହତ ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶ ପକ୍ଷୀ ଥିଲା; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସେହି ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଲତା ଜଳରେ ସେଚିତ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ଆପଣା ରୋପିତ ହେବା କିଆରିରୁ ତାହାର ପ୍ରତି ଆପଣା ମୂଳ ବକ୍ର କରି ଶାଖା ବିସ୍ତାର କଲା।
But there was another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. And behold, this vine bent its roots toward him. It stretched out its branches to him from its planting bed, so that he might water it.
8 ତାହା ଯେପରି ଶାଖାବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଓ ଫଳବତୀ ହୋଇ ଉତ୍ତମ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଲତା ହେବ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତାହା ଜଳରାଶିର ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଉର୍ବର ଭୂମିରେ ରୋପିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା।
It had been planted in good soil by abundant waters in order to yield branches and bear fruit and become a splendid vine.’
9 ତୁମ୍ଭେ କୁହ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ତାହା କି କୃତକାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହେବ? ତାହା ଯେପରି ଶୁଷ୍କ ହେବ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେ କି ତହିଁର ମୂଳ ଉପାଡ଼ି ତହିଁର ଫଳ କାଟି ପକାଇବ ନାହିଁ? ମହାପରାକ୍ରମ ଓ ଅନେକ ଲୋକ ବିହୁନେ ହିଁ ତହିଁର ମୂଳ ଉତ୍ପାଟିତ ହୋଇ ତହିଁର ଅଙ୍କୁରିତ ନବୀନ ପତ୍ରସବୁ କି ମ୍ଳାନ ହେବ ନାହିଁ?
So you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Will it flourish? Will it not be uprooted and stripped of its fruit so that it shrivels? All its foliage will wither! It will not take a strong arm or many people to pull it up by its roots.
10 ହଁ, ଦେଖ, ରୋପିତ ହୋଇଅଛି ବୋଲି ତାହା କି କୃତକାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହେବ? ପୂର୍ବୀୟ ବାୟୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କଲେ ତାହା କି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ଶୁଷ୍କ ହୋଇ ନ ଯିବ? ବଢ଼ିବା କିଆରିରେ ତାହା ଶୁଷ୍କ ହୋଇଯିବ।”
Even if it is transplanted, will it flourish? Will it not completely wither when the east wind strikes? It will wither on the bed where it sprouted.’”
11 ଆହୁରି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
12 “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ-ବଂଶକୁ କୁହ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଏହିସବୁର ତାତ୍ପର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଜାଣ ନାହିଁ? ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ଦେଖ, ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଆସି ତହିଁର ରାଜାକୁ ଓ ତହିଁର ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଆପଣାର ନିକଟକୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ନେଇଗଲା;
“Now say to this rebellious house: ‘Do you not know what these things mean?’ Tell them, ‘Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, carried off its king and officials, and brought them back with him to Babylon.
13 ପୁଣି, ରାଜ୍ୟ ଯେପରି ଅବନତ ହୋଇ ଆଉ ଉନ୍ନତ ନୋହିବ, ମାତ୍ର ତାହାର ନିୟମ ପାଳନ କରି ଯେପରି ସ୍ଥିର ହେବ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ
He took a member of the royal family and made a covenant with him, putting him under oath. Then he carried away the leading men of the land,
14 ସେ ରାଜବଂଶରୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ବୀଜ ନେଇ ତାହା ସଙ୍ଗେ ନିୟମ କଲା, ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାକୁ ଶପଥାଧୀନ କଲା ଓ ଦେଶର ପରାକ୍ରମୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ନେଇଗଲା।
so that the kingdom would be brought low, unable to lift itself up, surviving only by keeping his covenant.
15 ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଅଶ୍ୱଗଣ ଓ ଅନେକ ଲୋକ ପାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମିସରକୁ ଆପଣା ଦୂତଗଣ ପଠାଇ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ହେଲା। ସେ କି କୃତକାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହେବ? ଯେ ଏପରି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରେ, ସେ କି ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବ? ସେ ନିୟମ ଲଙ୍ଘନ କରି କି ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବ?
But this king rebelled against Babylon by sending his envoys to Egypt to ask for horses and a large army. Will he flourish? Will the one who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and yet escape?’
16 ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଯେଉଁ ରାଜା ତାହାକୁ ରାଜା କଲା, ଯାହାର ଶପଥ ସେ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କଲା ଓ ଯାହାର ନିୟମ ସେ ଭାଙ୍ଗିଲା, ସେହି ରାଜାର ବାସସ୍ଥାନ ବାବିଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଓ ତାହାର ନିକଟରେ, ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ମରିବ।
‘As surely as I live,’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘he will die in Babylon, in the land of the king who enthroned him, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke.
17 ପୁଣି, ଅନେକ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେମାନେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ବନ୍ଧ ବାନ୍ଧିବେ ଓ ଗଡ଼ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ଫାରୋ ଆପଣାର ପରାକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ୟସାମନ୍ତ ଓ ମହାସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଯୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତାହାର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
Pharaoh with his mighty army and vast horde will not help him in battle, when ramps are built and siege walls constructed to destroy many lives.
18 କାରଣ, ସେ ନିୟମ ଭଗ୍ନ କରି ଶପଥ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରିଅଛି ଓ ଦେଖ, ସେ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ଦେଲେ ହେଁ ଏହିସବୁ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଅଛି; ସେ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ।
He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Seeing that he gave his hand in pledge yet did all these things, he will not escape!’
19 ଏହେତୁ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ସେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଯେଉଁ ଶପଥ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରିଅଛି ଓ ଆମ୍ଭର ଯେଉଁ ନିୟମ ଭଙ୍ଗ କରିଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ତହିଁର ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ତାହାର ମସ୍ତକରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତାଇବା।
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘As surely as I live, I will bring down upon his head My oath that he despised and My covenant that he broke.
20 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଜାଲ ତାହା ଉପରେ ପ୍ରସାରିବା ଓ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭ ଫାନ୍ଦରେ ଧରାଯିବ, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାକୁ ବାବିଲକୁ ନେଇଯିବା ଓ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯେଉଁ ସତ୍ୟ-ଲଙ୍ଘନ ଅପରାଧ କରିଅଛି, ତହିଁ ସକାଶୁ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ବିଚାର କରିବା।
I will spread My net over him and catch him in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon and execute judgment upon him there for the treason he committed against Me.
21 ପୁଣି, ତାହାର ସକଳ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ପଳାତକ ସମସ୍ତେ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ପତିତ ହେବେ ଓ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହେବେ; ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣିବ ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିଅଛୁ।”
All his choice troops will fall by the sword, and those who survive will be scattered to every wind. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken.’
22 ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, “ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏରସ ବୃକ୍ଷର ଉଚ୍ଚ ଅଗ୍ରଭାଗ ନେଇ ତାହା ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିବା; ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ଉଚ୍ଚତମ ପଲ୍ଲବମାନର ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଗୋଟିଏ କୋମଳ ପଲ୍ଲବ କାଟି ନେଇ ଏକ ଉଚ୍ଚ ଓ ଉନ୍ନତ ପର୍ବତରେ ରୋପଣ କରିବା;
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take a shoot from the lofty top of the cedar, and I will set it out. I will pluck a tender sprig from its topmost shoots, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
23 ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଉଚ୍ଚତମ ପର୍ବତରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ରୋପଣ କରିବା, ତହିଁରେ ତାହା ଶାଖାବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଓ ଫଳବାନ ହୋଇ ଉତ୍ତମ ଏରସ ବୃକ୍ଷ ହେବ; ତହିଁର ତଳେ ସର୍ବଜାତୀୟ ପକ୍ଷୀ ବାସ କରିବେ; ସେମାନେ ତହିଁର ଶାଖାମାନର ଛାୟାରେ ବାସ କରିବେ।
I will plant it on the mountain heights of Israel so that it will bear branches; it will yield fruit and become a majestic cedar. Birds of every kind will nest under it, taking shelter in the shade of its branches.
24 ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେ ଉଚ୍ଚ ବୃକ୍ଷକୁ ନୀଚ କରିଅଛୁ ଓ ନୀଚ ବୃକ୍ଷକୁ ଉଚ୍ଚ କରିଅଛୁ, ସତେଜ ବୃକ୍ଷକୁ ଶୁଷ୍କ କରିଅଛୁ ଓ ଶୁଷ୍କ ବୃକ୍ଷକୁ ସତେଜ କରିଅଛୁ, ଏହା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରସ୍ଥ ଯାବତୀୟ ବୃକ୍ଷ ଜାଣିବେ; ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହା କହିଅଛୁ ଓ ସିଦ୍ଧ କରିଅଛୁ।”
Then all the trees of the field will know that I am the LORD. I bring the tall tree down and make the low tree tall. I dry up the green tree and make the withered tree flourish. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I have done it.’”
