ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ଲିଖିତ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ପୁସ୍ତକ 2
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଲେବୀ ବଂଶଜାତ ଜଣେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଯାଇ ଲେବୀ ବଂଶରୁ ଜାତ ଏକ କନ୍ୟାକୁ ବିବାହ କଲା।
And there went a man of the house of Levi, —and took a daughter of Levi.
2 ତହୁଁ ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଗର୍ଭଧାରଣ କରି ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କଲା; ପୁଣି, ବାଳକକୁ ଅତି ସୁନ୍ଦର ଦେଖି ସେ ତାକୁ ତିନି ମାସ ଯାଏ ଗୋପନରେ ରଖିଲା।
And the woman conceived and bare a son, —and she saw him, that he was a goodly child, so she hid him three months.
3 ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆଉ ଗୋପନ କରି ନ ପାରି ସେ ଗୋଟିଏ ନଳନିର୍ମିତ ପେଡ଼ି ଘେନି ମାଟିଆ ତେଲ ଓ ଝୁଣା ଲେପନ କରି ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେହି ବାଳକକୁ ଥୋଇ ନୀଳ ନଦୀତୀରସ୍ଥ ନଳବନରେ ରଖିଲା।
And when she could no longer hide him, she took for him an ark of paper-reed, and covered it over with bitumen, and with pitch, —and put therein the child, and laid it among the rushes upon the bank of the river.
4 ପୁଣି, ତାହାର କି ଦଶା ହେବ, ତାହା ଦେଖିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହାର ଭଗିନୀ ଦୂରରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ରହିଲା।
Then did his sister station herself at a distance, —to see what would be done to him.
5 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଫାରୋଙ୍କ କନ୍ୟା ସ୍ନାନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନଦୀକୁ ଆସନ୍ତେ, ତାହାର ସହଚରୀଗଣ ନଦୀ ତୀରରେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରୁଥିଲେ। ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେ ନଳବନରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ପେଡ଼ି ଦେଖି ତାହା ଆଣିବାକୁ ଆପଣା ଦାସୀକୁ ପଠାଇଲା।
So then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe by the river, and her, maidens, were walking by the side of the river, —when she saw the ark in the midst of the rushes, and sent her handmaid, and fetched it.
6 ସେ ପେଡ଼ି ଫିଟାଇ ସେହି ବାଳକକୁ ଦେଖିଲା; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସେହି ବାଳକଟି କାନ୍ଦୁଅଛି; ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଦୟା ବହି କହିଲା, “ଏଇଟି ଜଣେ ଏବ୍ରୀୟ ବାଳକ।”
And she opened and beheld it—even the child, and lo! a boy weeping, —so she took pity on him, and said, Of the children of the Hebrews, is this.
7 ସେତେବେଳେ ତାହାର ଭଗିନୀ ଫାରୋଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟାକୁ କହିଲା, “ମୁଁ ଯାଇ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହି ବାଳକକୁ ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ କରାଇବା ପାଇଁ କି ଏବ୍ରୀୟା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଗଣ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ଧାତ୍ରୀକୁ ଡାକି ଆଣିବି?”
Then said his sister unto Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call thee a nurse, of the Hebrew women, —that she may nurse for thee the child?
8 ତହିଁରେ ଫାରୋଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟା କହିଲା, “ଯାଅ,” ତହୁଁ ସେ ବାଳିକା ଯାଇ ସେହି ବାଳକର ମାତାକୁ ଡାକି ଆଣିଲା।
And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her—Go. So the maid went, and called the mother of the child.
9 ତେବେ ଫାରୋଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏ ବାଳକକୁ ନେଇ ମୋʼ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ କରାଅ; ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବେତନ ଦେବି,” ତହିଁରେ ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ବାଳକକୁ ନେଇ ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ କରାଇଲା।
And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her—Take this child, and nurse it for me, and, I, will give thee thy wages. So the woman took the child, and nursed it.
10 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ବାଳକ ବଢ଼ନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାକୁ ନେଇ ଫାରୋଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟାକୁ ଦେଲା। ତହିଁରେ ବାଳକ ତାହାର ପୁତ୍ର ହେଲା। ତେଣୁ ସେ ତାହାର ନାମ ମୋଶା ଦେଲା; “କାରଣ ସେ କହିଲା, ମୁଁ ଜଳରୁ ଏହାକୁ ଆକର୍ଷଣ କଲି।”
And the child grew, and she brought him in to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses, and said—For out of the water, I drew him.
11 କାଳକ୍ରମେ ମୋଶା ବଡ଼ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦିନକରେ ସେ ଆପଣା ଭ୍ରାତୃଗଣ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭାର ବହିବାର ଦେଖିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଜଣେ ମିସରୀୟ ତାହାର ଭ୍ରାତୃଗଣ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ଏବ୍ରୀଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରହାର କରୁଥିବାର ଦେଖିଲେ।
And it came to pass in those days when Moses grew up, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens, —and saw, an Egyptian smiting a Hebrew—of his brethren,
12 ଏହେତୁ ସେ ଏଣେତେଣେ ଅନାଇ କାହାକୁ ନ ଦେଖି ସେହି ମିସରୀୟକୁ ବଧ କରି ବାଲିରେ ପୋତି ଦେଲେ।
So he turned this way and that, and when he saw that there was no man, he smote the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
13 ଆଉ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଦିନ ସେ ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ଏବ୍ରୀଙ୍କୁ ବିବାଦ କରୁଥିବାର ଦେଖି ଦୋଷୀ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଭାଇଙ୍କୁ କାହିଁକି ପ୍ରହାର କରୁଅଛ?”
And he went out on the second day, and lo! two Hebrews, striving together, —so he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore shouldest thou smite thy fellow?
14 ତହିଁରେ ସେ କହିଲା, “କିଏ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ରାଜା ଓ ବିଚାରକର୍ତ୍ତା କରି ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛି? ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେପରି ସେହି ମିସରୀୟ ଲୋକକୁ ବଧ କଲ, ସେହିପରି କି ମୋତେ ବଧ କରିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଅଛ?” ତହିଁରେ ମୋଶା ଭୟଭୀତ ହୋଇ କହିଲେ, “ଏ କଥା ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହୋଇଅଛି।”
And he said—Who hath set thee for a chief and a judge over us? To slay me, art thou thinking, as thou didst slay the Egyptian? Then was Moses afraid, and said—Surely the thing is, known!
15 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଫାରୋ ଏ କଥା ଶୁଣି ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ମୋଶା ଫାରୋଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ପଳାଇ ମିଦୀୟନ ଦେଶରେ ବାସ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇ ଗୋଟିଏ କୂପ ନିକଟରେ ବସିଲେ।
So Pharaoh heard this thing, and sought to slay Moses, —and Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian and sat down by the well.
16 ମିଦୀୟନୀୟ ଯାଜକଙ୍କର ସାତୋଟି କନ୍ୟା ଥିଲେ; ସେମାନେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସି ପିତାଙ୍କ ମେଷପଲକୁ ଜଳ ପାନ କରାଇବା ପାଇଁ ଜଳ କାଢ଼ି କୁଣ୍ଡ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲେ।
Now, the priest of Midian, had seven daughters, —and they came and drew and filled the troughs, to water their fathers flock.
17 ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ମେଷପାଳକମାନେ ଆସି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ମୋଶା ଉଠି ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମେଷପଲକୁ ଜଳ ପାନ କରାଇଲେ।
Then came the shepherds, and drave them away, —so Moses rose up, and succoured them, and watered their flock,
18 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ପିତା ରୁୟେଲ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଆନ୍ତେ, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲା, “ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏତେ ଶୀଘ୍ର କିପରି ଆସିଲ?”
Then came they in unto Reuel their father, —and he said, Wherefore have ye so early come in to-day?
19 ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, “ଜଣେ ମିସରୀୟ ଲୋକ ମେଷପାଳକମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କଲା, ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଜଳ କାଢ଼ି ମେଷପଲକୁ ଜଳ ପାନ କରାଇଲା।”
And they said, An Egyptian, delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, —Moreover also he drew, for us, and watered the flock.
20 ତେବେ ସେ ଆପଣା କନ୍ୟାମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ସେ କେଉଁଠାରେ? ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାକୁ କାହିଁକି ଛାଡ଼ି ଆସିଲ? ତାକୁ ଡାକ; ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଭୋଜନ କରିବ।”
And he said unto his daughters—And where is he? wherefore is it that ye left the man? Call him that he may eat bread.
21 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା ସେହି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ସହିତ ବାସ କରିବାକୁ ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆପଣା କନ୍ୟା ସିପ୍ପୋରାର ବିବାହ ଦେଲା।
And Moses was well-pleased to dwell with the man, —and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses.
22 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରସବ କରନ୍ତେ, ମୋଶା ତାହାର ନାମ ଗେର୍ଶୋମ ଦେଲେ; କାରଣ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ବିଦେଶରେ ପ୍ରବାସୀ ହୋଇଅଛି।”
And she bare a son, and he called his name Gershom, —for he said, A, sojourner, I am, in a strange land.
23 ବହୁ କାଳ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ମିସରୀୟ ରାଜାଙ୍କର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ହେଲା, ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଦାସ୍ୟକର୍ମ ସକାଶୁ ହାହାକାର ଓ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କଲେ ଓ ଦାସ୍ୟକର୍ମ ସକାଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଆର୍ତ୍ତନାଦ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା।
And it came to pass, during those many days, that the king of Egypt died, and the sons of Israel sighed by reason of the servitude and lamented, —and their cry for help went up to God, by reason of the servitude.
24 ତହିଁରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଆର୍ତ୍ତସ୍ୱର ଶୁଣିଲେ, ଆଉ ଅବ୍ରହାମ ଓ ଇସ୍ହାକ ଓ ଯାକୁବଙ୍କ ସହିତ କୃତ ଆପଣା ନିୟମ ସ୍ମରଣ କରି,
And God heard their groaning, —and God remembered his covenant, with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob;
25 ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟିପାତ କଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅବସ୍ଥା ଜାଣିଲେ।
so then, God looked upon the sons of Israel, —and God regarded.
