ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ଲିଖିତ ପଞ୍ଚମ ପୁସ୍ତକ 9

1 ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ, ଶୁଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣାଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ପ୍ରବଳ ଓ ବଳବାନ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ, ଆଉ ପ୍ରାଚୀର-ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ବୃହତ ଓ ଗଗନସ୍ପର୍ଶୀ ନଗରମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକାର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଜି ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇ ଯାଉଅଛ;

“Hear, O Israel: You are passing over the Jordan today to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to the heavens,

2 ସେହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଅନାକୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ, ବଳବାନ ଓ ଲମ୍ବା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜାଣୁଅଛ, ପୁଣି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଏହା କୁହାଯିବାର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶୁଣିଅଛ ଯେ, “ଅନାକର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ କିଏ ଛିଡ଼ା ହୋଇପାରେ?”

a people great and tall, sons of Anakim, whom you have known, and [of whom] you have heard: Who stations himself before sons of Anak?

3 ଏଣୁ ଆଜି ଜ୍ଞାତ ହୁଅ ଯେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସ୍ୱୟଂ ଗ୍ରାସକାରୀ ଅଗ୍ନି ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହୋଇ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଆଗେ ଆଗେ ଗମନ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି; ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂହାର କରିବେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ନତ କରିବେ; ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦେବ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ବିନାଶ କରିବ।

And you have known today that your God YHWH [is] He who is passing over before you [as] a consuming fire; He destroys them, and He humbles them before you, and you have dispossessed them, and destroyed them quickly, as YHWH has spoken to you.

4 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ିଦେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ମନେ ମନେ କହିବ ନାହିଁ ଯେ, “ଆମ୍ଭ ଧାର୍ମିକତା ସକାଶୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଏହି ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରଣାର୍ଥେ ଆଣିଅଛନ୍ତି;” ଯେହେତୁ ସେହି ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ସକାଶୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦେବେ।

You do not speak in your heart (in your God YHWH’s driving them away from before you), saying, In my righteousness YHWH has brought me in to possess this land; but in YHWH dispossessing these nations from your presence, [it is because of] their being wicked.

5 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଧାର୍ମିକତା ଅବା ହୃଦୟର ସରଳତା ସକାଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଅଛ, ତାହା ନୁହେଁ ମାତ୍ର ସେହି ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ସକାଶୁ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷ ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କୁ, ଇସ୍‌ହାକଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯାକୁବଙ୍କୁ ଶପଥପୂର୍ବକ ଯେଉଁ ବାକ୍ୟ କହିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ସଫଳ କରିବା ପାଇଁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦେବେ।

[It is] not in your righteousness and in the uprightness of your heart [that] you are going in to possess their land, but in YHWH dispossessing these nations from your presence, [it is because of] their being wicked, and in order to establish the word which YHWH has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob;

6 ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭ ଧାର୍ମିକତା ସକାଶୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଏହି ଉତ୍ତମ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବାକୁ ଦେଉ ନାହାନ୍ତି, ଏହା ଜ୍ଞାତ ହୁଅ ଯେହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶକ୍ତଗ୍ରୀବ ଲୋକ।

and you have known that [it is] not in your righteousness [that] your God YHWH is giving this good land to you to possess it, for you [are] a people stiff of neck.

7 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ କିପରି କ୍ରୁଦ୍ଧ କରାଇଅଛ, ତାହା ସ୍ମରଣ କର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ପାସୋର ନାହିଁ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମିସର ଦେଶରୁ ବାହାର ହେବା ଦିନଠାରୁ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବିଦ୍ରୋହାଚାରୀ ହୋଇଅଛ।

Remember [and] do not forget that [with] which you have made your God YHWH angry in the wilderness; from the day that you have come out of the land of Egypt until your coming to this place, you have been rebellious against YHWH;

8 ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ହୋରେବରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କ୍ରୁଦ୍ଧ କରାଇଲ, ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କ୍ରୋଧ କରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ୟତ ହେଲେ।

even in Horeb you have made YHWH angry, and YHWH shows Himself angry against you—to destroy you.

9 ଯେତେବେଳେ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରଦ୍ୱୟ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ କୃତ ନିୟମର ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ଫଳକ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରକୁ ଗଲି, ସେତେବେଳେ ମୁଁ ପର୍ବତରେ ଚାଳିଶ ଦିନ ଓ ଚାଳିଶ ରାତ୍ରି ରହିଲି; ମୁଁ ଅନ୍ନ ଭୋଜନ କିଅବା ଜଳ ପାନ କଲି ନାହିଁ,

In my going up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone (tablets of the covenant which YHWH has made with you), then I abide on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I have not eaten bread and I have not drunk water;

10 ସେସମୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳି ଲିଖିତ ସେହି ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ଫଳକ ଦେଲେ; ପୁଣି ପର୍ବତରେ ସମାଜ-ଦିନରେ ଅଗ୍ନି ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ଯାହା କହିଥିଲେ, ସେହି ସକଳ ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରମାଣେ ତହିଁରେ ଲେଖାଯାଇଥିଲା।

and YHWH gives to me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God, and on them [is] according to all the words which YHWH has spoken with you on the mountain, out of the midst of the fire, in the day of the assembly.

11 ଆଉ ଚାଳିଶ ଦିନ ଓ ଚାଳିଶ ରାତ୍ରିର ଶେଷରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ଫଳକ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ନିୟମର ଫଳକ ମୋତେ ଦେଲେ।

And it comes to pass, at the end of forty days and forty nights, YHWH has given the two tablets of stone to me—tablets of the covenant.

12 ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ କହିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ଏ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଯାଅ କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ମିସରରୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଅଛ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ପଥ ବିଷୟରେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲୁ, ତହିଁରୁ ସେମାନେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ବିମୁଖ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି; ସେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଛାଞ୍ଚରେ ଢଳା ଏକ ପ୍ରତିମା ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।”

Then YHWH says to me, Rise, go down, hurry from here, for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have done corruptly; they have quickly turned aside from the way which I have commanded them—they have made a molten thing for themselves!

13 ଆହୁରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିଅଛି, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଏମାନେ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ଶକ୍ତଗ୍ରୀବ ଲୋକ ଅଟନ୍ତି।

And YHWH speaks to me, saying, I have seen this people, and behold, it [is] a people stiff of neck.

14 ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅ, ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ଓ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳ ତଳୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନାମ ଲୋପ କରିବା; ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ଓ ଏକ ମହାନ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ କରିବା।”

Desist from Me, and I destroy them, and blot out their name from under the heavens, and I make you become a nation more mighty and numerous than it.

15 ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ଫେରି ପର୍ବତ ତଳକୁ ଆସିଲି, ଆଉ ପର୍ବତ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଜ୍ୱଳୁଥିଲା; ଆଉ ନିୟମର ସେହି ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ଫଳକ ମୋହର ଦୁଇ ହସ୍ତରେ ଥିଲା।

And I turn and come down from the mountain, and the mountain is burning with fire, and the two tablets of the covenant [are] on my two hands,

16 ତହୁଁ ମୁଁ ଅନାଇଲି, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ପାପ କରିଥିଲ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଛାଞ୍ଚରେ ଢଳା ଏକ ବାଛୁରି ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଥିଲ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ପଥ ବିଷୟରେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଇଥିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ତହିଁରୁ ବିମୁଖ ହୋଇଥିଲ।

and I see, and behold, you have sinned against your God YHWH; you have made a molten calf for yourselves; you have quickly turned aside from the way which YHWH has commanded you.

17 ଏଥିରେ ମୁଁ ସେହି ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ଫଳକ ଧରି ଆପଣା ଦୁଇ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଫିଙ୍ଗି ଦେଲି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ତାହା ଭାଙ୍ଗିଲି।

And I lay hold on the two tablets, and cast them out of my two hands, and break them before your eyes,

18 ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ବିରକ୍ତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମ କରି ଯେଉଁ ପାପ କରିଥିଲ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସେହି ସମସ୍ତ ପାପ ସକାଶୁ ମୁଁ ପୂର୍ବଥର ପରି ଚାଳିଶ ଦିନ ଓ ଚାଳିଶ ରାତ୍ରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ି ରହିଲି; ମୁଁ ଅନ୍ନ ଭୋଜନ କି ଜଳ ପାନ କଲି ନାହିଁ।

and I throw myself before YHWH, as at first, [for] forty days and forty nights; I have not eaten bread and I have not drunk water, because of all your sins which you have sinned by doing evil in the eyes of YHWH, to make Him angry.

19 କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯେଉଁ କ୍ରୋଧ କଲେ, ସେହି କୋପ ଓ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡତା ଆଗରେ ମୁଁ ଭୀତ ହେଲି। ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଥର ମଧ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି କର୍ଣ୍ଣପାତ କଲେ।

For I have been afraid because of the anger and the fury with which YHWH has been angry against you, to destroy you; and YHWH also listens to me at this time.

20 ଆଉ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ହାରୋଣଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଅତିଶୟ କୋପ କଲେ; ମୁଁ ସେସମୟରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ହାରୋଣଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲି।

And YHWH has showed Himself very angry with Aaron, to destroy him, and I also pray for Aaron at that time.

21 ପୁଣି ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାପ ସ୍ୱରୂପ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ସେହି ଯେଉଁ ବାଛୁରି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଥିଲ, ତାହା ନେଇ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କଲି ଓ ତାହା ଧୂଳି ପରି ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପେଷି ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲି; ତହୁଁ ମୁଁ ତହିଁର ଧୂଳି ପର୍ବତ ନିର୍ଗତ ଜଳସ୍ରୋତରେ ନିକ୍ଷେପ କଲି।

And I have taken your sin, the calf which you have made, and I burn it with fire, and beat it, grinding well until it [is] small as dust, and I cast its dust into the brook which is going down out of the mountain.

22 ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତବୀୟେରାରେ, ମଃସାରେ ଓ କିବ୍ରୋତ୍‍-ହତ୍ତାବାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କ୍ରୁଦ୍ଧ କରାଇଲ।

And in Taberah, and in Massah, and in Kibroth-Hattaavah, you have been making YHWH angry;

23 ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେଉଁ ସମୟରେ କାଦେଶ-ବର୍ଣ୍ଣେୟଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦେଇଅଛୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଉଠିଯାଇ ତାହା ଅଧିକାର କର; ସେସମୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାର ବିଦ୍ରୋହାଚାରୀ ହେଲ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ତାହାଙ୍କ ରବ ଶୁଣିଲ ନାହିଁ।”

also in YHWH’s sending you from Kadesh-Barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given to you; then you provoke the mouth of your God YHWH, and have not given credence to Him, nor listened to His voice.

24 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜାଣିବା ଦିନଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବିଦ୍ରୋହାଚାରୀ ହୋଇ ଆସିଅଛ।

You have been rebellious against YHWH from the day of my knowing you.

25 ଏହିରୂପେ ମୋହର ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ିବାର ଚାଳିଶ ଦିନ ଓ ଚାଳିଶ ରାତ୍ରି ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପୂର୍ବଥର ପରି ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ି ରହିଲି; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବାକୁ କହିଥିଲେ।

And I throw myself before YHWH—the forty days and the forty nights when I had thrown myself—because YHWH has commanded to destroy you;

26 ପୁଣି ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରି କହିଲି, “ହେ ପ୍ରଭୋ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆପଣା ଅଧିକାରକୁ ବିନାଶ କର ନାହିଁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ମହିମାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଳବାନ ହସ୍ତ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମିସରରୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଅଛ।

and I pray to YHWH, and say, Lord YHWH, do not destroy Your people and Your inheritance whom You have ransomed in Your greatness, whom You have brought out of Egypt with a strong hand;

27 ଅବ୍ରହାମ, ଇସ୍‌ହାକ ଓ ଯାକୁବ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଏହି ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ମରଣ କର; ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଅବାଧ୍ୟତା ପ୍ରତି, କି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ପ୍ରତି, କିଅବା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପାପ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟି କର ନାହିଁ।

be mindful of Your servants, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob; do not turn to the stiffness of this people, and to its wickedness, and to its sin,

28 କେଜାଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁଠାରୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଅଛ, ସେହି ଦେଶର ଲୋକେ କହିବେ, ‘ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦେବାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ, ସେଠାକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନେଇଯାଇ ନ ପାରିବାରୁ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘୃଣା କରିବାରୁ ଏହି ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ବଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଅଛନ୍ତି।’

lest the land from which You have brought us out says, Because of YHWH’s want of ability to bring them into the land of which He has spoken to them, and because of His hating them, He brought them out to put them to death in the wilderness.

29 ତଥାପି ସେମାନେ ତ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଲୋକ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅଧିକାର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ମହାଶକ୍ତି ଓ ବିସ୍ତାରିତ ବାହୁ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଅଛ।”

And they [are] Your people and Your inheritance, whom You have brought out by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm!”
