ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ଲିଖିତ ପଞ୍ଚମ ପୁସ୍ତକ 4
1 ଏବେ ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ, ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ବିଧି ଓ ଶାସନ ପାଳନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉଅଛି, ତହିଁରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କର; ତାହା କଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ ଆଉ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦେବେ, ତହିଁରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ତାହା ଅଧିକାର କରିବ।
Now therefore hearken, O Israel, to the statutes and to the judgments, which I teach you, to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
2 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରୁଅଛି, ସେହି ବାକ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିଛି ମିଶାଇବ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ତହିଁରୁ କିଛି ଊଣା କରିବ ନାହିଁ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ସେହି ସବୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ପାଳନ କର।
Ye shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish any thing from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
3 ବାଲ୍-ପିୟୋର ବିଷୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯାହା କଲେ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଦେଖିଅଛି; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ବାଲପିୟୋରର ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍ଗାମୀ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ବିନଷ୍ଟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
4 ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେତେ ଲୋକ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ଆସକ୍ତ ହେଲ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସେହି ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଜୀବିତ ଅଛ।
But ye who held fast to the LORD your God are alive each one of you this day.
5 ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋହର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋତେ ଯେପରି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେପରି ବିଧି ଓ ଶାସନ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଇଅଛି; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଅଛ, ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେହିପରି ବ୍ୟବହାର କରିବାକୁ ହେବ।
Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land where ye go to possess it.
6 ଏଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାସବୁ ପାଳନ କର; କାରଣ ନାନା ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଏହା ହିଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଜ୍ଞାନ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବ; ସେମାନେ ଏହିସବୁ ବିଧି ଶୁଣି କହିବେ, “ଏହି ମହାଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ନିତାନ୍ତ ଜ୍ଞାନବାନ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକ ଅଟନ୍ତି।”
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
7 ଯେହେତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେକୌଣସି ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁ, ସେସମୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେପରି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ସେପରି ଆଉ କେଉଁ ମହାଗୋଷ୍ଠୀର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସେମାନଙ୍କର ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହୁଅନ୍ତି?
For what nation is there so great, which hath God so near to them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
8 ପୁଣି ମୁଁ ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଯେଉଁ ସମସ୍ତ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଦେଉଅଛି, ତାହା ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ବିଧି ଓ ଶାସନ ଆଉ କେଉଁ ମହାଗୋଷ୍ଠୀର ଅଛି?
And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
9 କେବଳ ନିଜ ବିଷୟରେ ସାବଧାନ ହୁଅ ଓ ନିଜ ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ଯତ୍ନପୂର୍ବକ ରକ୍ଷା କର, ନୋହିଲେ ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଦେଖିଅଛି, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପାସୋରି ଯିବ ଓ ତାହା ଜୀବନ ସାରା ତୁମ୍ଭ ହୃଦୟରୁ ଲୋପ ପାଇବ; ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ପୁତ୍ରପୌତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହା ଶିଖାଅ।
Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou shouldest forget the things which thy eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them to thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;
10 ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ହୋରେବରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିଲ, ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ କହିଲେ, “ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରେ ଏକତ୍ର କର, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ବାକ୍ୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶୁଣାଇବା ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ଜୀବନ ସାରା ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କରିବାକୁ ଶିଖିବେ ଓ ଆପଣା ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶିଖାଇବେ।”
Especially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, Gather the people to me, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.
11 ତହୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହୋଇ ପର୍ବତ ତଳେ ଠିଆ ହେଲ; ସେହି ସମୟରେ ସେହି ପର୍ବତ ଅନ୍ଧକାର, ମେଘ ଓ ଘୋର ଅନ୍ଧାରରେ ବ୍ୟାପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଗଗନର ମଧ୍ୟ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଜ୍ୱଳିଲା।
And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire to the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.
12 ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଅଗ୍ନି ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କଥା କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବାକ୍ୟର ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣିଲ, ମାତ୍ର କୌଣସି ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ଦେଖିଲ ନାହିଁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେବଳ ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣିଲ।”
And the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.
13 ପୁଣି ସେ ଆପଣାର ଯେଉଁ ନିୟମ ପାଳନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଦେଶ କଲେ, ଆପଣାର ସେହି ନିୟମର ଦଶ ଆଜ୍ଞା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରକାଶ କଲେ; ଆଉ ସେ ଦୁଇ ପଥର ପଟାରେ ତାହା ଲେଖିଲେ।
And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
14 ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବାକୁ ପାର ହୋଇ ଯାଉଅଛ, ସେହି ଦେଶରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପାଳନୀୟ ବିଧି ଓ ଶାସନସକଳ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶିଖାଇବା ପାଇଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ସମୟରେ ମୋତେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ।
And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land where ye go over to possess it.
15 ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ବିଷୟରେ ଅତିଶୟ ସାବଧାନ ହୁଅ; କାରଣ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ହୋରେବରେ ଅଗ୍ନି ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ କଥା କହିଲେ, ସେଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କୌଣସି ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ଦେଖିଲ ନାହିଁ।
Take ye therefore good heed to yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
16 (ସାବଧାନ), ନୋହିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ କରି ପୁରୁଷର କି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି,
Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make to you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
17 କି ପୃଥିବୀସ୍ଥ କୌଣସି ପଶୁର ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି, କି ଆକାଶରେ ଉଡ଼ନ୍ତା କୌଣସି ପକ୍ଷୀର ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି,
The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
18 କି ଭୂଚର କୌଣସି ଉରୋଗାମୀ ଜନ୍ତୁର ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି, କି ଭୂମିର ନୀଚସ୍ଥ ଜଳଚର କୌଣସି ଜନ୍ତୁର ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି କରି ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ କୌଣସି ଖୋଦିତ ପ୍ରତିମା ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବ।
The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
19 କିଅବା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମୁଦାୟ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳର ଅଧଃସ୍ଥିତ ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏପରି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଓ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ଓ ତାରା ପ୍ରଭୃତି ଆକାଶର ସମସ୍ତ ବାହିନୀ ପ୍ରତି ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱଦୃଷ୍ଟି କରି ଅନାଇଲେ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହୋଇ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଣାମ କରିବ ଓ ସେବା କରିବ।
And lest thou shouldest lift up thy eyes to heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided to all nations under the whole heaven.
20 ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆଜି ଦିନର ପରି ଯେପରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାରର ଲୋକ ହୁଅ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଲୁହା-ଭାଟି ସ୍ୱରୂପ ମିସରରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରି ଆଣିଅଛନ୍ତି।
But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you out of the iron furnace, even from Egypt, to be to him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
21 ଆହୁରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସକାଶେ ମୋʼ ଉପରେ କ୍ରୋଧ କଲେ। ପୁଣି, ମୁଁ ଯେପରି ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇ ନ ଯିବି ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବାକୁ ଦେବେ, ସେହି ଉତ୍ତମ ଦେଶରେ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରବେଶ ନ କରିବି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଶପଥ କଲେ।
Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and swore that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not enter that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:
22 ଏଣୁ ଏହି ଦେଶରେ ମୁଁ ମରିବି, ମୁଁ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇଯିବି ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାର ହୋଇଯିବ ଓ ସେହି ଉତ୍ତମ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବ।
But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.
23 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ସାବଧାନ ହୁଅ, ନୋହିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସ୍ଥିରୀକୃତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିୟମ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାସୋରି ଯିବ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିଷିଦ୍ଧ କୌଣସି ବସ୍ତୁର ପ୍ରତିମୂର୍ତ୍ତିବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଖୋଦିତ ପ୍ରତିମା ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବ।
Take heed to yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
24 କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଗ୍ରାସକାରୀ ଅଗ୍ନି, ସ୍ୱଗୌରବ ରକ୍ଷଣରେ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟନ୍ତି।
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
25 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ଦେଶରେ ପୁତ୍ର ପୌତ୍ରଗଣକୁ ଜନ୍ମ ଦେଇ ବହୁ କାଳ ବାସ କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ କରି କୌଣସି ବସ୍ତୁର ପ୍ରତିମୂର୍ତ୍ତିବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଖୋଦିତ ପ୍ରତିମା ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ କ୍ରୁଦ୍ଧ କରାଇବା ପାଇଁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମ କରିବ।
When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:
26 ତେବେ ମୁଁ ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗ ଓ ମର୍ତ୍ତ୍ୟକୁ ସାକ୍ଷୀ କରି କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବାକୁ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇ ଯାଉଅଛ, ସେହି ଦେଶରୁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଦୀର୍ଘାୟୁ ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ନିର୍ମୂଳରେ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେବ।
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from the land where ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall be utterly destroyed.
27 ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ କରିବେ; ପୁଣି ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ନେଇଯିବେ, ସେହି ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅଳ୍ପସଂଖ୍ୟକ ହୋଇ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିବ।
And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, where the LORD shall lead you.
28 ଆଉ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ହସ୍ତକୃତ କାଷ୍ଠମୟ ଓ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରମୟ, ପୁଣି ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଦେଖନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, କି ଶୁଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, କି ଭୋଜନ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, କି ଆଘ୍ରାଣ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ଏପରି ଦେବଗଣର ସେବା କରିବ।
And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
29 ମାତ୍ର ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବ, ତେବେ ଆପଣାର ସମସ୍ତ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଣ ସହିତ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କଲେ, ତାହାଙ୍କର ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ପାଇବ।
But if from there thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou shalt seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30 ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଙ୍କଟରେ ପଡ଼ିବ ଓ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ଘଟିବ, ସେହି ଶେଷ କାଳରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଫେରିବ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ରବ ଶୁଣିବ।
When thou art in tribulation, and all these things have come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou shalt turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient to his voice;
31 ଯେହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଦୟାଳୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟନ୍ତି; ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ, କି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବିନଷ୍ଟ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ଶପଥ ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଯେଉଁ ନିୟମ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ପାସୋରିବେ ନାହିଁ।
(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God; ) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he swore to them.
32 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିବା ଦିନାବଧି ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବେ ଗତ କାଳକୁ ଓ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳର ଏକ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପଚାର, ଏହି ମହାକାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ତୁଲ୍ୟ କି ଆଉ କୌଣସି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଅଛି, ଅବା ଏପ୍ରକାର କି ଶୁଣାଯାଇଅଛି?
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven to the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
33 ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେପରି ଶୁଣିଅଛ, ସେପରି କି ଅନ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ରବ ଅଗ୍ନି ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କହିବାର ଶୁଣି ବଞ୍ଚିଅଛନ୍ତି?
Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking from the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
34 କିଅବା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମିସରରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଯେଉଁ ସକଳ କର୍ମ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, କି ତଦନୁସାରେ ପରୀକ୍ଷାସିଦ୍ଧ ପ୍ରମାଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା, ଚିହ୍ନ ଦ୍ୱାରା, ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟକର୍ମ ଦ୍ୱାରା, ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ଦ୍ୱାରା, ପରାକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହସ୍ତ ଦ୍ୱାରା, ବିସ୍ତାରିତ ବାହୁ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଓ ଭୟଙ୍କର ମହାକର୍ମ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏକ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆସି ଉପକ୍ରମ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
Or hath God ever tried to go and take for himself a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
35 ଏସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେଲା, ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିବ ଯେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟନ୍ତି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଆଉ କେହି ନାହିଁ।
To thee it was shown, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none besides him.
36 ସେ ଉପଦେଶ ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆପଣା ରବ ଶୁଣାଇଲେ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆପଣା ମହା-ଅଗ୍ନି ଦେଖାଇଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅଗ୍ନି ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣିଲ।
Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he showed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words from the midst of the fire.
37 ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ନେହ କରିବାରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବଂଶକୁ ହିଁ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ,
And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out of Egypt; in his sight with his mighty power;
38 ପୁଣି ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ବଳବାନ ଓ ବହୁସଂଖ୍ୟକ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦେଶୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଆଗରୁ ତଡ଼ିଦେଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶରେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରାଇ ଆଜି ଦିନ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଆପଣା ଶ୍ରୀମୁଖ ଓ ମହାପରାକ୍ରମ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମିସର ଦେଶରୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଲେ।
To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.
39 ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆଜି ଏହା ଜ୍ଞାତ ହୁଅ ଓ ଆପଣା ହୃଦୟରେ ଏହା ବିବେଚନା କର, ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱସ୍ଥ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ଓ ଅଧଃସ୍ଥ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ହିଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟନ୍ତି, ଅନ୍ୟ କେହି ନାହାନ୍ତି।
Know therefore this day, and consider it in thy heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
40 ପୁଣି ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହୁଏ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସଦାକାଳ ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଭୂମି ଦିଅନ୍ତି, ତହିଁ ଉପରେ ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦୀର୍ଘ ପରମାୟୁ ହୁଏ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ବିଧି ଓ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆଦେଶ କରୁଅଛି, ତାହା ପାଳନ କର।
Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may be well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.
41 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା ହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନର ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟୋଦୟ ଦିଗସ୍ଥିତ କୂଳରେ ତିନୋଟି ନଗର ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ କଲେ।
Then Moses set apart three cities on the side of Jordan toward the sunrising;
42 ଯେପରି କେହି ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀକୁ ପୂର୍ବେ ହିଂସା ନ କରି ଅଜ୍ଞାତସାରରେ ବଧ କଲେ, ସେ ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କୌଣସି ଏକ ନଗରକୁ ପଳାଇ ବଞ୍ଚିପାରେ।
That the slayer might flee there, who should kill his neighbour unintentionally, and when he had not hated him in times past; and that fleeing to one of these cities he might live:
43 ଯଥା, ରୁବେନୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପଦାଭୂମିସ୍ଥିତ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ବେତ୍ସର; ପୁଣି ଗାଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗିଲୀୟଦରେ ରାମୋତ୍ ଆଉ ମନଃଶିୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବାଶନରେ ଗୋଲନ୍।
Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.
44 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଏହି ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ;
And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:
45 ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ମିସରରୁ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଆସିବା ସମୟରେ ମୋଶା ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ-ପୂର୍ବପାରିରେ ବେଥ୍-ପିୟୋର ସମ୍ମୁଖସ୍ଥ ଉପତ୍ୟକାରେ ହିଷ୍ବୋନ ନିବାସୀ ଇମୋରୀୟ ରାଜା ସୀହୋନର ଦେଶରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଏହିସବୁ ପ୍ରମାଣ-ବାକ୍ୟ ଓ ବିଧି ଓ ଶାସନ ଦେଲେ।
These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spoke to the children of Israel, after they came forth from Egypt,
46 କାରଣ ମିସରରୁ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଆସିବା ସମୟରେ ମୋଶା, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ସେହି ରାଜାକୁ ବଧ କରି ତାହାର ଓ ବାଶନର ରାଜା ଓଗ୍ର,
On the east side of Jordan, in the valley opposite Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they had come forth from Egypt:
47 ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ-ପୂର୍ବଦିଗସ୍ଥ ଇମୋରୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଏହି ଦୁଇ ରାଜାର ଦେଶ,
And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, who were on the side of Jordan toward the sunrising;
48 ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ଅର୍ଣ୍ଣୋନ-ଉପତ୍ୟକା ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଅରୋୟେର ଅବଧି ସିୟୋନ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ହର୍ମୋଣ ନାମକ ପର୍ବତ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶ,
From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even to mount Sion, which is Hermon,
49 ପୁଣି ଅସ୍ଦୋଦ-ପିସ୍ଗାର ଅଧଃସ୍ଥିତ ସମତଳ ଭୂମିର ସମୁଦ୍ର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ-ପୂର୍ବପାରିସ୍ଥିତ ସମସ୍ତ ପଦାଭୂମି ଅଧିକାର କରିଥିଲେ।
And all the plain on the side of Jordan eastward, even to the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.
