ପ୍ରେରିତ 28

1 ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଲା ପରେ ସେହି ଦ୍ୱୀପ ମେଲିତୀ ବୋଲି ଜାଣିଲୁ।

And after being saved, then they learned that the island was called Malta.

2 ଆଉ, ବର୍ବରମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଅସାଧାରଣ ଦୟା ଦେଖାଇଲେ, କାରଣ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ଓ ଶୀତ ହେଉଥିବାରୁ ସେମାନେ ଅଗ୍ନି ଜାଳି ଆମ୍ଭ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଅଭ୍ୟର୍ଥନା କଲେ।

And the foreigners presented uncommon kindness to us, for, having kindled a fire, they received us all because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

3 କିନ୍ତୁ ପାଉଲ ବିଡ଼ାଏ କାଠ ଗୋଟାଇ ନିଆଁ ଉପରେ ପକାନ୍ତେ, ତାତି ହେତୁ ଗୋଟାଏ କାଳସର୍ପ ବାହାରି ତାହାଙ୍କ ହାତରେ କାମୁଡ଼ି ଲାଗିରହିଲା।

And Paul having gathered a quantity of sticks, and having placed them on the fire, a viper having come out from the heat, it fastened on his hand.

4 ବର୍ବରମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ହାତରେ ସେହି ଜନ୍ତୁଟା ଝୁଲିଥିବାର ଦେଖି ପରସ୍ପର କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ଏ ଲୋକଟା ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଖୁଣୀ, ସମୁଦ୍ରରୁ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଲେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଧର୍ମ ଏହାକୁ ବଞ୍ଚିବାକୁ ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ।

And when the foreigners saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to each other, Certainly this man is a murderer, whom, though saved from the sea, Justice did not allow to live.

5 କିନ୍ତୁ ପାଉଲ ଜନ୍ତୁଟାକୁ ଝାଡ଼ି ନିଆଁରେ ପକାଇଦେଲେ, ଆଉ ତାଙ୍କର କିଛି କ୍ଷତି ହେଲା ନାହିଁ।

Indeed therefore having shaken off the creature into the fire, he experienced nothing harmful.

6 ସେ ଯେ ଫୁଲିଯିବେ କିମ୍ବା ହଠାତ୍‍ ମରି ପଡ଼ିଯିବେ, ଏହା ସେମାନେ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରୁଥିଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଅନେକ ବେଳ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅପେକ୍ଷାରେ ରହିଲା ପରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କୌଣସି ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ନ ଘଟିବାର ଦେଖି ସେମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ମନ ବଳାଇ କହିଲେ, ଏ ଜଣେ ଦେବତା।

But they expected he was going to swell up, or suddenly fall down dead, but when they were long expecting, and seeing nothing amiss happening to him, thinking differently, they declared him to be a god.

7 ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନ ନିକଟରେ ପୁବ୍ଲିୟ ନାମକ ସେହି ଦ୍ୱୀପର ପ୍ରଧାନ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ଓ ଭୂମି ଥିଲା; ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ତିନି ଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସାଦରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆତିଥ୍ୟସତ୍କାର କଲେ।

Now among the things around that place were fields of the chief of the island, named Publius, who, having received us kindly, lodged us three days.

8 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ପୁବ୍ଲିୟଙ୍କର ପିତା ଜ୍ୱର ଓ ଆମାଶୟ ରୋଗରେ ପୀଡ଼ିତ ହୋଇ ଶଯ୍ୟାଶାୟୀ ଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ପାଉଲ ଭିତରକୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ହାତ ଥୋଇ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କଲେ।

And it came about for the father of Publius to be laid down, gripped by fever and dysentery, to whom Paul, having entered in, and having prayed, having laid his hands on him, healed him.

9 ଏହି ଘଟଣା ପରେ ସେହି ଦ୍ୱୀପରେ ଥିବା ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ପୀଡ଼ିତମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆସି ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେଲେ;

Therefore when this happened, the others also who had infirmities on the island came and were healed,

10 ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବହୁତ ସମ୍ମାନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମାଦର କଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରୟୋଜନୀୟ ପଦାର୍ଥସବୁ ଯୋଗାଇଦେଲେ।

who also honored us with many honorariums. And while putting out to sea, they furnished the things for our necessities.

11 ତିନି ମାସ ପରେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଆଲେକ୍‍ଜାଣ୍ଡ୍ରୀୟ ଜାହାଜରେ ଚଢ଼ି ଯାତ୍ରା କଲୁ, ସେହି ଜାହାଜ ଏହି ଦ୍ୱୀପରେ ଶୀତକାଳ କଟାଇଥିଲା, ତାହାର ଚିହ୍ନ ମିଥୁନ।

And after three months we set out in a ship that wintered at the island, an Alexandrian with The Twin Brothers emblem.

12 ସୁରାକୂସାରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେଠାରେ ତିନି ଦିନ ରହିଲୁ,

And after being brought down to Syracuse, we remained there three days,

13 ପୁଣି, ସେ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ବୁଲି ରେଗୀୟ ବନ୍ଦରରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲୁ ଦିନକ ପରେ ଦକ୍ଷିଣା ପବନ ବହିବାରୁ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଦିନରେ ପୁତେଅଲି ସହରକୁ ଆସିଲୁ;

from where having made a circuit, we arrived at Rhegium. And after one day, wind from the south having developed, we came a second day to Puteoli,

14 ସେ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିଲୁ, ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସାତ ଦିନ ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କଲେ; ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ରୋମରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲୁ।

where, having found brothers, we were invited to stay with them seven days. And so we went toward Rome.

15 ଭାଇମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ବାଦ ପାଇ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଆପ୍ପୀୟଙ୍କ ହାଟ ଓ ତିନି ସରେଇଘର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିବା ପାଇଁ ଆସିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ପାଉଲ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଧନ୍ୟବାଦ କରି ସାହସ ପାଇଲେ।

And from there the brothers, who heard these things about us, came for a meeting with us as far as Appius Forum and The Three Taverns, whom, when Paul saw, having expressed thanks to God, he took courage.

16 ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ରୋମରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରନ୍ତେ, ପାଉଲଙ୍କୁ ନିଜ ପ୍ରହରୀ ସୈନ୍ୟ ସହିତ ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ବାସ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅନୁମତି ଦିଆଗଲା।

And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the commandant, but Paul was allowed to dwell by himself with the soldier who guarded him.

17 ତିନି ଦିନ ପରେ ସେ ଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଧାନ ପ୍ରଧାନ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ, ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ଏକତ୍ର ହୁଅନ୍ତେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ହେ ଭାଇମାନେ, ଯଦ୍ୟପି ମୁଁ ସ୍ୱଜାତି ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କିମ୍ବା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃ-ପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ରୀତିନୀତି ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କିଛି କରି ନ ଥିଲି, ତଥାପି ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ସହରରୁ ବନ୍ଦୀରୂପେ ରୋମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହେଲି।

And it came to pass after three days, for Paul to call together those who were the principle men of the Jews. And when they came together, he said to them, Men, brothers, I, having done nothing against the people, or the paternal customs, I was delivered a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans,

18 ସେମାନେ ମୋହର ବିଚାର କରି ମୋʼଠାରେ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡର କୌଣସି କାରଣ ନ ଥିବାରୁ ମୋତେ ମୁକ୍ତି ଦେବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଥିଲେ;

who, after examining me, wanted to release me, because there was not one cause of death in me.

19 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯିହୁଦୀମାନେ ସେଥିର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କହିବାରୁ ମୁଁ କାଇସରଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ବିଚାରିତ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବାକୁ ବାଧ୍ୟ ହେଲି; ମୋହର ଯେ ସ୍ୱଜାତି ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରିବାର କିଛି ଥିଲା, ତାହା ନୁହେଁ।

But when the Jews spoke against it, I was compelled to appeal Caesar, not as having anything to accuse my nation.

20 ଅତଏବ ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ମୁଁ ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୋ ସହିତ ସାକ୍ଷାତ ଓ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କରିବାକୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କଲି, କାରଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଭରସା ଯୋଗୁଁ ମୁଁ ଏହି ଜଞ୍ଜିରରେ ବନ୍ଧାଯାଇଅଛି।

Because of this reason therefore I summoned you to see and to speak with me, for because of the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

21 ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ଯିହୂଦିୟା ପ୍ରଦେଶରୁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କୌଣସି ପତ୍ର ପାଇ ନାହୁଁ, କି ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି ଏଠାକୁ ଆସି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ କୌଣସି ମନ୍ଦ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି ବା କହି ନାହାନ୍ତି।

And they said to him, We neither received letters from Judea about thee, nor did any of the brothers who came report or speak anything bad about thee.

22 କିନ୍ତୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଭାବ କଅଣ, ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଅଛୁ; କାରଣ ଏହି ଦଳ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ, ସର୍ବତ୍ର ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କଥା କୁହାଯାଉଅଛି।

But we think it worthy to hear from thee what thou think. For indeed about this sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.

23 ଏଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଗୋଟିଏ ଦିନ ନିରୂପଣ କରି ବହୁସଂଖ୍ୟାରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବସାକୁ ଆସିଲେ, ଆଉ ସେ ସକାଳୁ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ବ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟା କରି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଲେ, ପୁଣି, ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଓ ଭାବବାଦୀଙ୍କ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ନେଇ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ଜନ୍ମାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କଲେ।

And having appointed a day for him, more came to him into his lodging, to whom he expounded, solemnly testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them of the things about Jesus, both from the law of Moses and the prophets, from morning until evening.

24 ସେଥିରେ କେହି କେହି କୁହାଯାଇଥିବା ବିଷୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ କେହି କେହି ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।

And some were convinced by the things that were spoken, and some disbelieved.

25 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏକମତ ନ ହେବାରୁ ବିଦାୟ ନେଲେ; ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଯିବା ପୂର୍ବେ ପାଉଲ ଏହି ଗୋଟିଏ କଥା କହିଲେ, ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭାବବାଦୀ ଯିଶାଇୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମା ଯଥାର୍ଥ ରୂପେ କହିଥିଲେ,

And being discord among each other, they departed after Paul spoke one thing, saying, Well spoke the Holy Spirit through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,

26 “ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଯାଇ କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଶୁଣୁ ଶୁଣୁ ଶୁଣିବ, କିନ୍ତୁ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରକାରେ ବୁଝିବ ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି, ଦେଖୁ ଦେଖୁ ଦେଖିବ, କିନ୍ତୁ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଜ୍ଞାତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ;

saying, Go thou to this people, and say, Hearing ye will hear, and will, no, not understand, and seeing ye will see, and will, no, not perceive.

27 କାରଣ ଏହି ଲୋକଙ୍କର ହୃଦୟ ଜଡ଼ ହେଲା, ସେମାନେ କାନରେ କଷ୍ଟରେ ଶୁଣିଲେ ଓ ନିଜ ନିଜ ଆଖି ବୁଜିଲେ, ଯେପରି ସେମାନେ ଆଖିରେ ଦେଖିବେ ନାହିଁ ଓ କାନରେ ଶୁଣିବେ ନାହିଁ, ଆଉ ହୃଦୟରେ ବୁଝିବେ ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି, ଫେରି ଆସିବେ ନାହିଁ, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରିବୁ ନାହିଁ।’”

For this people's heart was made fat, and they hear heavily with the ears. And they shut their eyes, lest they may perceive with the eyes, and hear with the ears, and understand with the heart, and should turn, and I would heal them.

28 ଅତଏବ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଏହି ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ଅଣଯିହୁଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯେ ପ୍ରେରିତ ହୋଇଅଛି, ଆପଣମାନେ ଏହା ଜ୍ଞାତ ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ; ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଶ୍ରବଣ କରିବେ।

Be it known to you therefore, that the salvation of God was sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear.

29 [ଆଉ ସେ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା କହନ୍ତେ ଯିହୁଦୀମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାଦାନୁବାଦ କରୁ କରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲେ।]

And when he said these things, the Jews departed, having much disputing among themselves.

30 ସେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆପଣା ଭଡ଼ାଘରେ ରହିଲେ,

And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired lodging. And he received all who came in to him,

31 ପୁଣି, ଯେତେ ଲୋକ ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସୁଥିଲେ, ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ସେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସାହସରେ ଓ ନିର୍ବିଘ୍ନରେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟର କଥା ପ୍ରଚାର କରୁଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ବିଷୟସବୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉଥିଲେ।

preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching the things about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, without hindrance.
