ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଶାମୁୟେଲ 5
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସମସ୍ତ ବଂଶ ହିବ୍ରୋଣକୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅସ୍ଥି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ମାଂସ।
And all the tribes of Israel come to David to Chebron, and they said to him, Behold, we [are] your bone and your flesh.
2 ଅତୀତରେ ଶାଉଲ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ରାଜା ଥିବା ସମୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସେନାକୁ ନେତୃତ୍ଵ ଦେଉଥିଲ; ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ପାଳନ କରିବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଅଗ୍ରଣୀ ହେବ।’”
And heretofore Saul being king over us, you was he that did lead out and bring in Israel: and the Lord said to you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be for a leader to my people Israel.
3 ଏହିରୂପେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ହିବ୍ରୋଣକୁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦ ରାଜା ହିବ୍ରୋଣରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ନିୟମ କଲେ ଓ ସେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ରାଜାଭିଷିକ୍ତ କଲେ।
And all the elders of Israel come to the king to Chebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Chebron before the Lord; and they anoint David king over all Israel.
4 ଦାଉଦ ତିରିଶ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରେ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ ଓ ସେ ଚାଳିଶ ବର୍ଷ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କଲେ।
David [was] thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5 ସେ ହିବ୍ରୋଣରେ ଯିହୁଦା ଉପରେ ସାତ ବର୍ଷ ଛଅ ମାସ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କଲେ; ପୁଣି ସେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଓ ଯିହୁଦା ଉପରେ ତେତିଶ ବର୍ଷ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କଲେ।
Seven years and six months he reigned in Chebron over Juda, and thirty-three years he reigned over all Israel and Juda in Jerusalem.
6 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ରାଜା ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ଦେଶବାସୀ ଯିବୂଷୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଯାତ୍ରା କଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସି ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ ବୋଲି ମନେ କରି ସେମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନ୍ଧ ଓ ଛୋଟାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୂର ନ କଲେ, ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।”
And David and his men, departed to Jerusalem, to the Jebusite that inhabited the land: and it was said to David, You shall not come in hither: for the blind and the lame withstood him, saying, David shall not come in hither.
7 ତଥାପି ଦାଉଦ ସିୟୋନର ଦୃଢ଼ ଗଡ଼କୁ ଅଧିକାର କଲେ; ଯାହା ଦାଉଦ-ନଗର ହେଲା।
And David took first the hold of Sion: this [is] the city of David.
8 ପୁଣି ଦାଉଦ ସେହି ଦିନ କହିଲେ, “ଯେକେହି ଯିବୂଷୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରେ, ସେ ଜଳ ପ୍ରଣାଳୀକୁ ଯାଇ ଦାଉଦ-ପ୍ରାଣର ଘୃଣିତ ସେହି ‘ଛୋଟା ଓ ଅନ୍ଧମାନଙ୍କୁ’ ବଧ କରୁ।” ଏହେତୁ ଲୋକେ କହନ୍ତି, “ଅନ୍ଧ ଓ ଛୋଟାମାନେ ସେଠାରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି; ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ଭିତରକୁ ଆସିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।”
And David said on that day, Every one that smites the Jebusite, let him attack with the dagger both the lame and the blind, and those that hate the soul of David. Therefore they say, The lame and the blind shall not enter into the house of the Lord.
9 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ସେହି ଦୃଢ଼ ଗଡ଼ରେ ବାସ କରି ତାହାର ନାମ ଦାଉଦ-ନଗର ରଖିଲେ। ଆଉ ଦାଉଦ ମିଲ୍ଲୋଠାରୁ ଭିତର ଆଡ଼େ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ଗଡ଼ ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ।
And David lived in the hold, and it was called the city of David, and he built the city itself round about from the citadel, and [he built] his own house.
10 ଆଉ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ସହାୟ ହେବାରୁ ସେ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ମହାନ ହେଲେ।
And David advanced and became great, and the Lord Almighty [was] with him.
11 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସୋରର ରାଜା ହୂରମ୍ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୂତଗଣ ଓ ଏରସ କାଠ ଓ ବଢ଼େଇ ଓ ରାଜମିସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଲା; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ।
And Chiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar wood, and carpenters, and stone-masons: and they built a house for David.
12 ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜପଦରେ ସ୍ଥିର କଲେ ଓ ଆପଣା ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସକାଶୁ ତାଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟ ଉନ୍ନତ କଲେ, ଏହା ସେ ବୁଝିଲେ।
And David knew that the Lord had prepared him to be king over Israel, and that his kingdom was exalted for the sake of his people Israel.
13 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ହିବ୍ରୋଣରୁ ଆସିଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଆଉ ଅନେକ ଉପପତ୍ନୀ ଓ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଆହୁରି ପୁତ୍ରକନ୍ୟା ଜାତ ହେଲେ।
And David took again wives and concubines out of Jerusalem, after he came from Chebron: and David had still more sons and daughters born to him.
14 ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ତାଙ୍କର ଔରସରେ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଜନ୍ମିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ନାମ ଏହି: ଯଥା: - ଶମ୍ମୂୟ ଓ ଶୋବବ୍ ଓ ନାଥନ ଓ ଶଲୋମନ
And these [are] the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem; Sammus, and Sobab, and Nathan, and Solomon.
15 ଓ ୟିଭର ଓ ଇଲୀଶୂୟ ଓ ନେଫଗ୍ ଓ ଯାଫୀୟ
And Ebear, and Elisue, and Naphec, and Jephies.
16 ଓ ଇଲୀଶାମା ଓ ଇଲୀୟାଦା ଓ ଇଲୀଫେଲଟ୍।
And Elisama, and Elidae, and Eliphalath, Samae, Jessibath, Nathan, Galamaan, Jebaar, Theesus, Eliphalat, Naged, Naphec, Janathan, Leasamys, Baalimath, Eliphaath.
17 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ରାଜାଭିଷିକ୍ତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ଶୁଣି ସମସ୍ତ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟ ଲୋକ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିଲେ; ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦ ତାହା ଶୁଣି ଗଡ଼କୁ ଚାଲିଗଲେ।
And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over Israel; and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the strong hold.
18 ଏହି ସମୟରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ଆସି ରଫାୟୀମ ତଳଭୂମିରେ ବିସ୍ତାର ହୋଇଥିଲେ
And the Philistines came, and assembled in the valley of the giants.
19 ଏଥିରେ ଦାଉଦ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ ମାଗି କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ କି ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଉଠି ଯିବି? ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୋʼ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବ?” ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଉଠିଯାଅ, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା।”
And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and will you deliver them into my hands? and the Lord said to David, Go up, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.
20 ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦ ବାଲ୍-ପରାସୀମ୍କୁ ଆସିଲେ ଓ ଦାଉଦ ସେଠାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ; ପୁଣି ସେ କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋʼ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୋʼ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଳ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେତୁଭଙ୍ଗ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଭଗ୍ନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।” ଏହେତୁ ସେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନର ନାମ ବାଲ୍-ପରାସୀମ୍ (ଭଗ୍ନ ସ୍ଥାନ) ରଖିଲେ।
And David came from Upper Breaches, and struck the Philistines there: and David said, The Lord has destroyed the hostile Philistines before me, as water is dispersed; therefore the name of that place was called Over Breaches.
21 ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିମାଗଣକୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରିଥିଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ସେହି ସବୁ ଦଗ୍ଧ କଲେ।
And they leave there their gods, and David and his men with him took them.
22 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆସି ରଫାୟୀମ ତଳଭୂମିରେ ବିସ୍ତାର (ବିଶ୍ରାମ ନେଲେ) ହେଲେ।
And the Philistines came up yet again, and assembled in the valley of Giants.
23 ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ ମାଗନ୍ତେ, ସେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଉଠି ଉଠିଯାଅ ନାହିଁ; ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ ଘୁରି ଆସି ତୂତ ବୃକ୍ଷ ତୋଟା ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କର।
And David enquired of the Lord: and the Lord said, You shall not go up to meet them: turn from them, and you shall meet them near the place of weeping.
24 ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ତୂତ ବୃକ୍ଷ ତୋଟା ଉପରେ ସୈନ୍ୟଗମନର ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣିଲେ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରିବ; କାରଣ ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳକୁ ଆଘାତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଅଗ୍ରସର ହେବେ।”
And it shall come to pass when you hear the sound of a clashing together from the grove of weeping, then you shall go down to them, for then the Lord shall go forth before you to make havoc in the battle with the Philistines.
25 ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେପରି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ, ଦାଉଦ ସେପରି କଲେ ଓ ଗେବାଠାରୁ ଗେଷର ନିକଟ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ।
And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Gabaon as far as the land of Gazera.
