ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଶାମୁୟେଲ 19

1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ କେହି ଯୋୟାବକୁ କହିଲା, “ଦେଖ, ରାଜା ଅବଶାଲୋମ ନିମନ୍ତେ ରୋଦନ ଓ ଶୋକ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।”

And it was tolde Ioab, Behold, the King weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.

2 ଏଣୁ ସେହି ଦିବସର ଜୟ ସକଳ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଶୋକଜନକ ହେଲା; କାରଣ ରାଜା ଆପଣା ପୁତ୍ର ବିଷୟରେ ରୋଦନ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା ଲୋକମାନେ ସେହି ଦିନ ଶୁଣିଲେ।

Therefore the victorie of that day was turned into mourning to all the people: for the people heard say that day, The King soroweth for his sonne.

3 ପୁଣି ଯୁଦ୍ଧକ୍ଷେତ୍ରରୁ ପଳାଇବା ବେଳେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେପରି ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହୋଇ ଚୋର ପରି ଚାଲନ୍ତି, ସେପରି ସେହି ଦିନ ଚୋର ପରି ସୈନ୍ୟମାନେ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ।

And the people went that day into the citie secretly, as people confounded hide them selues when they flee in battell.

4 ଆଉ ରାଜା ମଧ୍ୟ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଢାଙ୍କିଲେ, ପୁଣି ରାଜା ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ କାନ୍ଦି କହିଲେ, “ହାୟ ଆମ୍ଭ ପୁତ୍ର ଅବଶାଲୋମ, ହାୟ ଅବଶାଲୋମ, ଆମ୍ଭ ପୁତ୍ର, ଆମ୍ଭ ପୁତ୍ର।”

So the King hid his face, and the King cryed with a loude voyce, My sonne Absalom, Absalom my sonne, my sonne.

5 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯୋୟାବ ଗୃହ ଭିତରକୁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲା, “ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆଜି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଓ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରକନ୍ୟାଗଣର ଜୀବନ ଓ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାମାନଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଓ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଉପପତ୍ନୀମାନଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ରକ୍ଷା କଲେ, ଆପଣ ଆଜି ନିଜର ସେହି ସମସ୍ତ ଦାସଙ୍କୁ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି;

Then Ioab came into the house to the King, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy seruants, which this day haue saued thy life and the liues of thy sones, and of thy daughters, and the liues of thy wiues, and the liues of thy concubines,

6 କାରଣ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଘୃଣା କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆପଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆପଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘୃଣା କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି। ଯେହେତୁ ଆପଣ ଆଜି ଜଣାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ଅଧିପତିମାନେ ଓ ଦାସମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କିଛି ନୁହନ୍ତି; କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଆଜି ଦେଖୁଅଛି ଯେ, ଯଦି ଅବଶାଲୋମ ବଞ୍ଚିଥାʼନ୍ତା ଓ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଆଜି ମରିଥାʼନ୍ତୁ, ତେବେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଭଲ ହୋଇଥାʼନ୍ତା।

In that thou louest thine enemies, and hatest thy friendes: for thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither thy princes nor seruants: therefore this day I perceiue, that if Absalom had liued, and we all had dyed this day, that then it would haue pleased thee well.

7 ଏଣୁ ଏବେ ଉଠି ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୟାରେ କଥା କହନ୍ତୁ; କାରଣ ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଶପଥ କରୁଅଛି, ଯଦି ଆପଣ ବାହାରକୁ ନ ଯାʼନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ଏହି ରାତ୍ରି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଜଣେ ହେଁ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ; ଆଉ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଯୌବନକାଳ ଠାରୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯେତେ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଘଟିଅଛି, ସେ ସବୁରୁ ହିଁ ଏହି ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଅଧିକ ହେବ।”

Nowe therefore vp, come out, and speake comfortably vnto thy seruants: for I sweare by the Lord, except thou come out, there will not tarie one man with thee this night: and that wil be worse vnto thee, then all the euill that fell on thee from thy youth hitherto.

8 ତହିଁରେ ରାଜା ଉଠି ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ବସିଲେ। ସେତେବେଳେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କୁହାଗଲା, ଦେଖ, ରାଜା ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ବସିଅଛନ୍ତି; ତହୁଁ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ତମ୍ବୁକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇଥିଲେ।

Then the King arose, and sate in the gate: and they tolde vnto all the people, saying, Beholde, the King doeth sit in the gate: and all the people came before the King: for Israel had fled euery man to his tent.

9 ଆଉ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସମୁଦାୟ ବଂଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ପରସ୍ପର କଳହ କରି କହୁଥିଲେ, “ରାଜା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିଥିଲେ ଓ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିଥିଲେ ଏବେ ସେ ଅବଶାଲୋମ ଭୟରେ ଦେଶରୁ ପଳାଇଅଛନ୍ତି।

Then all the people were at strife thorowout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The King saued vs out of the hand of our enemies, and he deliuered vs out of the hande of the Philistims, and nowe he is fled out of the lande for Absalom.

10 ପୁଣି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଅବଶାଲୋମଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତ କରିଥିଲୁ, ସେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧରେ ମରିଅଛି। ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏବେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଫେରାଇ ଆଣିବା ବିଷୟରେ କାହିଁକି ତୁନି ହୋଇ ରହିଅଛ?”

And Absalom, whome we anoynted ouer vs, is dead in battel: therefore why are ye so slow to bring the King againe?

11 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ରାଜା ସାଦୋକ ଓ ଅବୀୟାଥର ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୂତ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯିହୁଦାର ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ‘ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କ ଗୃହକୁ ଆଣିବା ପାଇଁ ସମସ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର କଥା ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲାଣି, ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କ ଗୃହକୁ ଫେରାଇ ଆଣିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ପଛଘୁଞ୍ଚା ହେଉଅଛ?

But King Dauid sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the Priestes, saying, Speake vnto the Elders of Iudah, and say, Why are ye behind to bring the King againe to his house, (for the saying of al Israel is come vnto the king, euen to his house)

12 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଭ୍ରାତା, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଅସ୍ଥି ଓ ଆମ୍ଭର ମାଂସ; ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଫେରାଇ ଆଣିବା ପାଇଁ ପଛଘୁଞ୍ଚା ହେଉଅଛ?’

Ye are my brethren: my bones and my flesh are ye: wherefore then are ye the last that bring the King againe?

13 ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅମାସାଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଆମ୍ଭର ଅସ୍ଥି ଓ ଆମ୍ଭର ମାଂସ ନୁହଁ? ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯୋୟାବ ପଦରେ ନିତ୍ୟ ଆମ୍ଭ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ସେନାପତି ନ ହୁଅ, ତେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡ, ମଧ୍ୟ ତହିଁରୁ ଅଧିକ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ।’”

Also say ye to Amasa, Art thou not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me and more also, if thou be not captaine of the hoste to me for euer in the roume of Ioab.

14 ଏହିରୂପେ ସେ ଯିହୁଦାର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟକୁ ଜଣକର ହୃଦୟ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଜୟ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣ ଓ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଦାସ ଫେରି ଆସନ୍ତୁ।”

So he bowed the heartes of all the men of Iudah, as of one man: therefore they sent to the King, saying, Returne thou with all thy seruants.

15 ତହୁଁ ରାଜା ଫେରି ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଗଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗିଲ୍‍ଗଲ୍‍କୁ ଯାଇ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର କରି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଆଣିଲେ।

So the King returned, and came to Iorden. And Iudah came to Gilgal, for to goe to meete the King, and to conduct him ouer Iorde.

16 ସେତେବେଳେ ଦାଉଦ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ବହୁରୀମ ନିବାସୀ ଗେରାର ପୁତ୍ର ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନୀୟ ଶିମୀୟି ଶୀଘ୍ର ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଆସିଲା।

And Shimei the sonne of Gera, ye sonne of Iemini, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Iudah to meete king Dauid,

17 ପୁଣି ତାହା ସଙ୍ଗେ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନୀୟ ଏକ ସହସ୍ର ଲୋକ ଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ଗୃହର ଦାସ ସୀବଃ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ପନ୍ଦର ପୁତ୍ର ଓ କୋଡ଼ିଏ ଦାସ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଥିଲେ। ସେମାନେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନରେ ପଶି ପାର ହୋଇଗଲେ।

And a thousande men of Beniamin with him, and Ziba the seruant of the house of Saul, and his fifteene sonnes and twentie seruants with him: and they went ouer Iorden before ye king.

18 ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ରାଜାଙ୍କର ପରିବାରବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ପାର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯାହା ଭଲ ଦିଶେ ତାହା କଲେ। ଏଣୁ ରାଜା ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହେବା ସମୟରେ ଗେରାର ପୁତ୍ର ଶିମୀୟି ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ିଲା।

And there went ouer a boate to carie ouer the Kings houshold, and to do him pleasure. Then Shimei the sonne of Gera fell before the King, when he was come ouer Iorden,

19 ଆଉ ଶିମୀୟି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ମୋʼ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ମୋହର ଅପରାଧ ଗଣନା ନ କରନ୍ତୁ, ଅବା ମୋʼ ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ବାହାରି ଯିବା ଦିନ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ଅବାଧ୍ୟତାପୂର୍ବକ ଯାହା କରିଅଛି, ତାହା ଆପଣ ସ୍ମରଣ ନ କରନ୍ତୁ, ମହାରାଜ ତାହା ଆପଣା ମନକୁ ନ ନେଉନ୍ତୁ।

And saide vnto the King, Let not my lorde impute wickednesse vnto me, nor remember ye thing that thy seruant did wickedly when my lorde the King departed out of Ierusalem, that the King should take it to his heart.

20 କାରଣ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ମୁଁ ଯେ ପାପ କରିଅଛି, ଏହା ଜାଣେ; ଏହେତୁ ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ଯୋଷେଫର ସମୁଦାୟ ବଂଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ମୁଁ ଆଜି ମୋʼ ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆସିଲି।”

For thy seruant doeth knowe, that I haue done amisse: therefore beholde, I am the first this day of al the house of Ioseph, that am come to goe downe to meete my lord the King.

21 ମାତ୍ର ସରୁୟାର ପୁତ୍ର ଅବୀଶୟ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା, “ଶିମୀୟି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଶାପ ଦେଇଅଛି, ଏହି କାରଣରୁ କି ତାହାର ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ ନାହିଁ?”

But Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah answered, and said, Shal not Shimei die for this, because he cursed the Lordes anoynted?

22 ଏଥିରେ ଦାଉଦ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ସରୁୟାର ପୁତ୍ରଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆମ୍ଭର ବିଷୟ କʼଣ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆଜି ମୋର ବିପକ୍ଷ ହେଉଅଛ? ଆଜି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କʼଣ କାହାରି ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ? ଆଜି ମୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ରାଜା ଅଟେ, ଏହା କʼଣ ମୁଁ ଜାଣୁ ନାହିଁ?”

And Dauid saide, What haue I to do with you, ye sonnes of Zeruiah, that this day ye should be aduersaries vnto me? shall there any man die this day in Israel? for doe not I know that I am this day King ouer Israel?

23 ତହୁଁ ରାଜା ଶିମୀୟିଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମରିବ ନାହିଁ।” ପୁଣି ରାଜା ତାହା ନିକଟରେ ଶପଥ କଲେ।

Therefore the King saide vnto Shimei, Thou shalt not die, and the king sware vnto him.

24 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ପୌତ୍ର ମଫୀବୋଶତ୍‍ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆସିଲା; ଆଉ ରାଜା ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରିବା ଦିନଠାରୁ କୁଶଳରେ ଗୃହକୁ ଆସିବା ଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ମଫୀବୋଶତ୍‍ ଆପଣା ପାଦ ପରିଷ୍କାର କରି ନ ଥିଲା, କି ଦାଢ଼ି କ୍ଷୌର ହୋଇ ନ ଥିଲା, କିଅବା ଆପଣା ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଧୌତ କରି ନ ଥିଲା।

And Mephibosheth the sonne of Saul came downe to meete the king, and had neither washed his feete, nor dressed his beard, nor washed his clothes from the time the king departed, vntill he returned in peace.

25 ପୁଣି ସେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିବା ପାଇଁ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଆସନ୍ତେ, ରାଜା ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ମଫୀବୋଶତ୍‍, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ମୋʼ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଗଲ ନାହିଁ?”

And when he was come to Ierusalem, and met the king, the king said vnto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth?

26 ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଉତ୍ତର କଲା, “ହେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୋ, ମହାରାଜ, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ତ ଛୋଟା, ‘ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ସଜାଇ ତାହା ଉପରେ ଚଢ଼ି ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ମୋହର ମନସ୍ଥ ଥିଲା,’ ମାତ୍ର ମୋହର ଦାସ ମୋତେ ପ୍ରବଞ୍ଚନା କଲା।

And he answered, My lorde the king, my seruant deceiued me: for thy seruant said, I would haue mine asse sadled to ride thereon, for to goe with the king, because thy seruant is lame.

27 ଆହୁରି ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଏହି ଦାସର ଅପମାନ କରିଅଛି; ମାତ୍ର ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଦୂତ ତୁଲ୍ୟ; ଏଣୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯାହା ଭଲ, ତାହା କରନ୍ତୁ।

And he hath accused thy seruant vnto my lorde the king: but my lorde the king is as an Angel of God: doe therefore thy pleasure.

28 ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ମୋʼ ପିତୃବଂଶ ସମସ୍ତେ ନିତାନ୍ତ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଥିଲେ; ତଥାପି ଆପଣ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ଏହି ଦାସକୁ ନିଜ ମେଜରେ ଭୋଜନକାରୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ସ୍ଥାନ ଦେଲେ। ଏହେତୁ ଏବେ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଆଉ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମୋହର କେଉଁ ଅଧିକାର ଅଛି?”

For all my fathers house were but dead men before my lord the king, yet diddest thou set thy seruant among them that did eate at thine owne table: what right therefore haue I yet to crye any more vnto the king?

29 ତହିଁରେ ରାଜା ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ବିଷୟ ଆଉ କାହିଁକି କହୁଅଛ? ମୁଁ କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ସୀବଃ ସେହି ଭୂମି ବାଣ୍ଟି ନିଅ।”

And the king said vnto him, Why speakest thou any more of thy matters? I haue said, Thou, and Ziba deuide the landes.

30 ତହୁଁ ମଫୀବୋଶତ୍‍ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ହେଉ, ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜ ତ କୁଶଳରେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହକୁ ଆସିଲେଣି, ତେବେ ସେ ସବୁ ନେଉ।”

And Mephibosheth saide vnto the king, Yea, let him take all, seeing my lorde the king is come home in peace.

31 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଗିଲୀୟଦୀୟ ବର୍ସିଲ୍ଲୟ ରୋଗଲୀମରୁ ଆସିଲା ଓ ସେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନଦୀ ପାର କରାଇ ନେବା ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନକୁ ପାର ହୋଇଗଲା।

Then Barzillai the Gileadite came downe from Rogelim, and went ouer Iorden with the king, to conduct him ouer Iorden.

32 ସେହି ବର୍ସିଲ୍ଲୟ ଅଶୀ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ୍କ ଅତି ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଲୋକ ଥିଲା; ଆଉ ସେ ଅତି ଧନୀ ଲୋକ ଥିବାରୁ ରାଜା ମହନୟିମରେ ଥିବା ବେଳେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଖାଦ୍ୟସାମଗ୍ରୀ ଯୋଗାଇଥିଲା।

Nowe Barzillai was a very aged man, euen fourescore yeere olde, and he had prouided the king of sustenance, while he lay at Mahanaim: for he was a man of very great substance.

33 ପୁଣି ରାଜା ବର୍ସିଲ୍ଲୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋʼ ସଙ୍ଗେ ପାର ହୋଇ ଆସ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଆପଣା ସଙ୍ଗେ ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କରିବି।”

And the king said vnto Barzillai, Come ouer with me, and I will feede thee with me in Ierusalem.

34 ଏଥିରେ ବର୍ସିଲ୍ଲୟ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ମୋହର ପରମାୟୁ ବର୍ଷର ଆଉ କେତେ ଦିନ ଅଛି ଯେ, ମୁଁ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଯିବି?

And Barzillai said vnto the king, Howe long haue I to liue, that I should goe vp with the king to Ierusalem?

35 ଆଜି ମୁଁ ଅଶୀ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ୍କ; ମୁଁ କʼଣ ଭଲ ଓ ମନ୍ଦର ପ୍ରଭେଦ କରିପାରେ? ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ମୁଁ ଯାହା ଭୋଜନ କି ପାନ କରେ, କʼଣ ତହିଁର ଆସ୍ୱାଦ ପାଇ ପାରେ? ମୁଁ କି ଗାୟକ ଓ ଗାୟିକାମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱର ଆଉ ଶୁଣି ପାରେ? ତେବେ କାହିଁକି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ମୋହର ସ୍ୱାମୀ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଭାର ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବ?

I am this day fourescore yeere olde: and can I discerne betweene good or euill? Hath thy seruant any taste in that I eat or in that I drinke? Can I heare any more the voyce of singing men and women? wherefore then should thy seruant be anymore a burthen vnto my lord the king?

36 ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ କେବଳ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯିବ; ଆଉ ମହାରାଜ ତହିଁ ପାଇଁ କାହିଁକି ମୋତେ ଏପରି ପୁରସ୍କାର ଦେବେ?

Thy seruant will goe a litle way ouer Iorden with the King, and why wil the king recompence it me with such a rewarde?

37 ମୁଁ ଯେପରି ନିଜ ନଗରରେ ମୋର ପିତା ଓ ମୋʼ ମାତାଙ୍କ କବର ନିକଟରେ ମରିବି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଏହି ଦାସକୁ ଫେରି ଯିବାକୁ ଅନୁମତି ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ। ମାତ୍ର ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ କିମ୍‍ହମ୍‍କୁ ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ; ସେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ପାର ହୋଇଯାଉ, ଆଉ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯାହା ଭଲ ଦିଶେ, ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ତାହା କରନ୍ତୁ।”

I pray thee, let thy seruant turne backe againe, that I may die in mine owne citie, and be buryed in the graue of my father and of my mother: but beholde thy seruant Chimham, let him goe with my lorde the king, and doe to him what shall please thee.

38 ଏଥିରେ ରାଜା ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “କିମ୍‍ହମ୍‍ ମୋʼ ସଙ୍ଗେ ପାର ହୋଇଯିବ, ଯାହା ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଭଲ ଦିଶେ, ତାହା ମୁଁ ତାହା ପ୍ରତି କରିବି; ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋʼ ଉପରେ ଯେଉଁ ଭାର ଦେବାକୁ ମନୋନୀତ କରିବ, ତାହା ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିମନ୍ତେ କରିବି।”

And the king answered, Chimham shall go with me, and I will do to him that thou shalt be content with: and whatsoeuer thou shalt require of me, that will I do for thee.

39 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହେଲେ, ଏବଂ ରାଜା ମଧ୍ୟ ପାର ହେଲେ; ପୁଣି ରାଜା ବର୍ସିଲ୍ଲୟଙ୍କୁ ଚୁମ୍ବନ କରି ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ କଲେ; ତହୁଁ ବର୍ସିଲ୍ଲୟ ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଫେରିଗଲା।

So all the people went ouer Iorden: and the King passed ouer: and the King kissed Barzillai, and blessed him, and hee returned vnto his owne place.

40 ଏହିରୂପେ ରାଜା ପାର ହୋଇ ଗିଲ୍‍ଗଲ୍‍କୁ ଗଲେ ଓ କିମ୍‍ହମ୍‍ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ପାର ହୋଇଗଲା; ପୁଣି ଯିହୁଦାର ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ୟ, ଏବଂ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଅର୍ଦ୍ଧେକ ସୈନ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଘେନି ଆସିଲେ।

Then the King went to Gilgal, and Chimham went with him, and all the people of Iudah conducted the King, and also halfe ye people of Israel.

41 ଏଥିରେ ଦେଖ, ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଭ୍ରାତୃବର୍ଗ ଯିହୁଦା-ଲୋକେ କାହିଁକି ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଚୋରି କରି ନେଲେ, ଆଉ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ପରିଜନବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର କରି ଆଣିଲେ? ସେତେବେଳେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଥିଲେ।”

And behold, all the men of Israel came to the King, and sayd vnto the King, Why haue our brethren the men of Iudah stollen thee away, and haue brought the King and his houshold, and all Dauids men with him ouer Iorden?

42 ତହୁଁ ଯିହୁଦାର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “ରାଜା ତ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ନିକଟ-କୁଟୁମ୍ବ; ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ଏ ବିଷୟରେ କ୍ରୋଧ କରୁଅଛ? ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କʼଣ ରାଜାଙ୍କର କିଛି ଖାଇଅଛୁ? ଅବା ସେ କʼଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କିଛି ଭେଟି ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି?”

And all the men of Iudah answered the men of Israel, Because the King is neere of kin to vs: and wherefore now be ye angry for this matter? haue we eaten of the Kings cost, or haue wee taken any bribes?

43 ତହିଁରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିହୁଦା-ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲେ, “ରାଜାଙ୍କଠାରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଦଶ ଅଂଶ ଅଧିକାର ଅଛି, କାରଣ ଦଶ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀର ସମ୍ପର୍କ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଅଛି ଏବଂ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କଠାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ମଧ୍ୟ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାର ଅଧିକ; ତେବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଫେରାଇ ଆଣିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରାମର୍ଶ ପ୍ରଥମେ ନ ନେଇ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କଲ?” ତହୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଯିହୁଦା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଅଧିକ କଠୋର ହେଲା।

And the men of Israel answered the men of Iudah, and saide, Wee haue ten partes in the King, and haue also more right to Dauid then ye: Why then did ye despise vs, that our aduise should not bee first had in restoring our King? And the wordes of the men of Iudah were fiercer then the wordes of the men of Israel.
