ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ରାଜାବଳୀ 8

1 ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ମୃତ ପୁତ୍ରକୁ ପୁନର୍ଜୀବିତ କରିଥିଲେ, ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ କହିଥିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରିବାର ଯାଇ ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ପ୍ରବାସ କରିପାର, ସେଠାରେ ପ୍ରବାସ କର; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ଆଜ୍ଞା କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଆଉ ତାହା ମଧ୍ୟ ସାତ ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦେଶରେ ରହିବ।”

Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, you and your household; go and live as a foreigner wherever you can. For the LORD has decreed a seven-year famine, and it has already come to the land.”

2 ତହିଁରେ ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଉଠି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରମାଣେ କର୍ମ କଲା; ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ସେ ଆପଣା ପରିବାର ସହିତ ଯାଇ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶରେ ସାତ ବର୍ଷ ପ୍ରବାସ କଲା।

So the woman had proceeded to do as the man of God had instructed. And she and her household lived as foreigners for seven years in the land of the Philistines.

3 ପୁଣି ସାତ ବର୍ଷ ଶେଷରେ ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶରୁ ଫେରି ଆସିଲା; ଆଉ ସେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହ ଓ ଆପଣା ଭୂମି ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗୁହାରି କରିବାକୁ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲା।

At the end of seven years, when the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, she went to the king to appeal for her house and her land.

4 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ରାଜା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ଦାସ ଗିହେଜୀ ସଙ୍ଗେ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କରୁ କରୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଯେ ଯେ ମହତ୍ କର୍ମ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାସବୁ ମୋତେ ଜଣାଅ।”

Now the king had been speaking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please relate to me all the great things Elisha has done.”

5 ତହିଁରେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ କିପରି ମୃତ ଲୋକକୁ ପୁନର୍ଜୀବିତ କରିଥିଲେ, ଏହା ଗିହେଜୀ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିବା ବେଳେ, ଦେଖ, ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ପୁତ୍ରକୁ ସେ ପୁନର୍ଜୀବିତ କରିଥିଲେ, ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହ ଓ ଆପଣା ଭୂମି ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗୁହାରି କରୁଅଛି। ଏଥିରେ ଗିହେଜୀ କହିଲା, “ହେ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୋ, ମହାରାଜ, ଏ ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଓ ତାହାର ପୁତ୍ର, ଯାହାକୁ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ପୁନର୍ଜୀବିତ କରିଥିଲେ।”

And Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had brought the dead back to life. Just then the woman whose son Elisha had revived came to appeal to the king for her house and her land. So Gehazi said, “My lord the king, this is the woman, and this is the son Elisha restored to life.”

6 ତହୁଁ ରାଜା ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ପଚାରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲା। ତହିଁରେ ରାଜା ତାହା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏକ କର୍ମଚାରୀକୁ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଏହାର ଯେଉଁ ସର୍ବସ୍ୱ ଥିଲା ଓ ଏ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ଦେଶ ଛାଡ଼ିଲା, ସେହି ଦିନଠାରୁ ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଏହାର କ୍ଷେତ୍ରୋତ୍ପନ୍ନ ସମସ୍ତ ଫଳ ଏହାକୁ ଫେରାଇ ଦିଅ।”

When the king asked the woman, she confirmed it. So the king appointed for her an officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, along with all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the country until now.”

7 ଏକ ସମୟରେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଦମ୍ମେଶକରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ; ସେତେବେଳେ ଅରାମର ରାଜା ବିନ୍‍ହଦଦ୍‍ ପୀଡ଼ିତ ଥିଲା; “ପୁଣି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ଏ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସିଅଛନ୍ତି” ବୋଲି ତାହାକୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦିଆଗଲା।

Then Elisha came to Damascus while Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick, and the king was told, “The man of God has come here.”

8 ତହିଁରେ ରାଜା ହସାୟେଲକୁ କହିଲା, “ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତରେ ଉପହାର ନେଇ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଅ, ‘ଆଉ ମୁଁ ଏହି ପୀଡ଼ାରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ହେବି କି ନାହିଁ?’ ଏହି କଥା ତାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ପଚାର।”

So the king said to Hazael, “Take a gift in your hand, go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD through him, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”

9 ଏଥିରେ ହସାୟେଲ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ଗଲା ଓ ଦମ୍ମେଶକର ସକଳ ଉତ୍ତମ ବସ୍ତୁର ଚାଳିଶ ଓଟର ବୋଝ ଉପହାର ସଙ୍ଗେ ନେଇ ଆସି ତାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଉଭା ହୋଇ କହିଲା, “ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଅରାମର ରାଜା ବିନ୍‍ହଦଦ୍‍ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ମୋତେ ପଠାଇ ପଚାରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ‘ମୁଁ କʼଣ ଏହି ପୀଡ଼ାରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ହେବି?’”

So Hazael went to meet Elisha, taking with him a gift of forty camel loads of every good thing from Damascus. And he went in and stood before him and said, “Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to ask, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”

10 ତହିଁରେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଇ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ମୁକ୍ତ ହେବ,’ ତଥାପି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ ଜଣାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ମରିବ।”

Elisha answered, “Go and tell him, ‘You will surely recover.’ But the LORD has shown me that in fact he will die.”

11 ସେତେବେଳେ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ଏପରି ସ୍ଥିର ଦୃଷ୍ଟି କଲେ ଯେ, ସେ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହେଲା; ପୁଣି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ରୋଦନ କଲେ।

Elisha fixed his gaze steadily on him until Hazael became uncomfortable. Then the man of God began to weep.

12 ତହିଁରେ ହସାୟେଲ ପଚାରିଲା, “ମୋʼ ପ୍ରଭୁ କାହିଁକି ରୋଦନ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି?” ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “କାରଣ ଏହି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ପ୍ରତି ଯେଉଁ ଅନିଷ୍ଟ କରିବ, ତାହା ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦୃଢ଼ ଗଡ଼ସବୁରେ ଅଗ୍ନି ଲଗାଇବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ବଧ କରିବ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଶିଶୁଗଣକୁ ଭୂମିରେ କଚାଡ଼ି ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଗର୍ଭବତୀ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ଉଦର ବିଦୀର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବ।”

“Why is my lord weeping?” asked Hazael. “Because I know the evil you will do to the Israelites,” Elisha replied. “You will set fire to their fortresses, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little ones to pieces, and rip open their pregnant women.”

13 ଏଥିରେ ହସାୟେଲ କହିଲା, “ମାତ୍ର ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ, ଯେ ଗୋଟିଏ କୁକ୍କୁର ମାତ୍ର, ସେ କିଏ ଯେ, ଏହି ବଡ଼ କର୍ମ କରିବ?” ତହୁଁ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋତେ ଜଣାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅରାମର ରାଜା ହେବ।”

“But how could your servant, a mere dog, do such a monstrous thing?” said Hazael. And Elisha answered, “The LORD has shown me that you will be king over Aram.”

14 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ହସାୟେଲ ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରି ଆପଣା ପ୍ରଭୁ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାହାକୁ ପଚାରିଲା, “ଇଲୀଶାୟ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କଅଣ କହିଲେ?” ତହୁଁ ହସାୟେଲ ଉତ୍ତର କଲା, “ସେ ମୋତେ ଜଣାଇଲେ ଯେ, ଆପଣ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ମୁକ୍ତ ହେବେ।”

So Hazael left Elisha and went to his master, who asked him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he replied, “He told me that you would surely recover.”

15 ମାତ୍ର ପରଦିନ ହସାୟେଲ ଶଯ୍ୟାଚ୍ଛାଦନ ନେଇ ଜଳରେ ବୁଡ଼ାଇ ରାଜାର ମୁଖ ଉପରେ ବିଛାଇ ଦିଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ମଲା; ପୁଣି ହସାୟେଲ ତାହାର ପଦରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲା।

But the next day Hazael took a thick cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it over the king’s face. So Ben-hadad died, and Hazael reigned in his place.

16 ଆହାବଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଯୋରାମ୍‍ଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ଵର ପଞ୍ଚମ ବର୍ଷରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଯିହୋଶାଫଟ୍‍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହୋରାମ୍‍ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ, ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଯିହୋଶାଫଟ୍‍ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଥିଲେ।

In the fifth year of the reign of Joram son of Ahab over Israel, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat succeeded his father as king of Judah.

17 ସେ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ବତିଶ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ୍କ ହୋଇଥିଲେ ଓ ସେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଆଠ ବର୍ଷ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ।

Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.

18 ପୁଣି ସେ ଆହାବଙ୍କର ବଂଶାନୁସାରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ପଥରେ ଚାଲିଲେ; କାରଣ ସେ ଆହାବଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟାକୁ ବିବାହ କରିଥିଲେ ଓ ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ କୁକର୍ମ କଲେ।

And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.

19 ତଥାପି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନିତ୍ୟ ଏକ ପ୍ରଦୀପ ଦେବାକୁ ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ, ତଦନୁସାରେ ସେ ଆପଣା ଦାସ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସକାଶୁ ଯିହୁଦାକୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଅସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ।

Yet for the sake of His servant David, the LORD was unwilling to destroy Judah, since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.

20 ତାଙ୍କ ସମୟରେ ଇଦୋମୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଅଧୀନତାର ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ହୋଇ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଏକ ରାଜା କଲେ।

In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.

21 ତହିଁରେ ଯୋରାମ୍‍ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ସମସ୍ତ ରଥ ସାୟୀରକୁ ଯାତ୍ରା କଲେ; ପୁଣି ସେ ରାତ୍ରିକାଳରେ ଉଠି ଆପଣା ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗ ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ଇଦୋମୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ରଥାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂହାର କଲେ; ଏଥିରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ତମ୍ବୁକୁ ପଳାଇଲେ।

So Jehoram crossed over to Zair with all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night. His troops, however, fled to their homes.

22 ଏହିରୂପେ ଇଦୋମ ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯିହୁଦାର ଅଧୀନତାର ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ହେଲା। ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଲିବ୍‍ନା ନଗର ମଧ୍ୟ ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ହେଲା।

So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled at the same time.

23 ଏହି ଯୋରାମ୍‍ଙ୍କର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ କ୍ରିୟା କି ଯିହୁଦା ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ଇତିହାସ ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଲେଖା ନାହିଁ?

As for the rest of the acts of Jehoram, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

24 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯୋରାମ୍‍ ମୃତ୍ୟୁବରଣ କଲେ ଓ ଦାଉଦ-ନଗରରେ ଆପଣା ପିତୃଗଣ ସହିତ କବର ପାଇଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଅହସୀୟ ତାଙ୍କ ପଦରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ।

And Jehoram rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Ahaziah reigned in his place.

25 ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ରାଜା ଆହାବଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋରାମ୍‍ଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ଵର ଦ୍ୱାଦଶ ବର୍ଷରେ ଯିହୁଦା-ରାଜା ଯିହୋରାମ୍‍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଅହସୀୟ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ।

In the twelfth year of the reign of Joram son of Ahab over Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

26 ଅହସୀୟ ରାଜ୍ୟ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବା ବେଳେ ବାଇଶ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ୍କ ହୋଇଥିଲେ ଓ ସେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଏକ ବର୍ଷ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ। ତାଙ୍କର ମାତାଙ୍କ ନାମ ଅଥଲୀୟା, ସେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଅମ୍ରିଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟା ଥିଲେ।

Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.

27 ପୁଣି ଅହସୀୟ ଆହାବ-ବଂଶର ପଥରେ ଚାଲି ଆହାବ-ବଂଶର କର୍ମାନୁସାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ କୁକର୍ମ କଲେ; କାରଣ ସେ ଆହାବ-ବଂଶର ଜାମାତା ଥିଲେ।

And Ahaziah walked in the ways of the house of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab, for he was a son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

28 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେ ଆହାବଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋରାମ୍‍ଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ମିଶି ଅରାମର ରାଜା ହସାୟେଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ରାମୋତ୍‍-ଗିଲୀୟଦରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଗଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ଅରାମୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯୋରାମ୍‍ଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷତବିକ୍ଷତ କଲେ।

Then Ahaziah went with Joram son of Ahab to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead, and the Arameans wounded Joram.

29 ଏହେତୁ ଯୋରାମ୍‍ ରାଜା ଅରାମର ରାଜା ହସାୟେଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ବେଳେ ଅରାମୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ରାମାରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ କ୍ଷତବିକ୍ଷତ କରିଥିଲେ, ତହିଁରୁ ସେ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯିଷ୍ରିୟେଲକୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ। ଆହାବଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋରାମ୍‍ ପୀଡ଼ିତ ହେବା ସକାଶୁ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଯିହୋରାମ୍‍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଅହସୀୟ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିବା ପାଇଁ ଯିଷ୍ରିୟେଲକୁ ଗଲେ।

So King Joram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds that the Arameans had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to visit Joram son of Ahab, because Joram had been wounded.
