୧ ତୀମଥି 3
1 ଏହି କଥା ସତ୍ୟ, କେହି ଯଦି ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପଦ ପାଇବାକୁ ଆକାଂକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ସେ ଉତ୍ତମ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ବାଞ୍ଛା କରନ୍ତି।
Stedfast [is] the word: If any one the oversight doth long for, a right work he desireth;
2 ଅତଏବ, ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷଙ୍କର ଅନିନ୍ଦନୀୟ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ, ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ଏକ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ସ୍ୱାମୀ, ଆତ୍ମସଞ୍ଜମ, ଉତ୍ତମ ବୁଦ୍ଧି, ସଦାଚାରୀ, ଆତିଥ୍ୟପ୍ରିୟ ଓ ଶିକ୍ଷାଦାନରେ ନିପୁଣ ହେବେ,
it behoveth, therefore, the overseer to be blameless, of one wife a husband, vigilant, sober, decent, a friend of strangers, apt to teach,
3 ମଦ୍ୟପାୟୀ କି ବିବାଦ-ପ୍ରିୟ ନ ହୋଇ ବରଂ ମୃଦୁଶୀଳ, ନିର୍ବିରୋଧ ଓ ନିର୍ଲୋଭ ହେବେ,
not given to wine, not a striker, not given to filthy lucre, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money,
4 ନିଜ ପରିବାରକୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ଶାସନ କରିବେ, ଗାମ୍ଭୀର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସହକାରେ ଆପଣା ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଶୀଭୂତ କରି ରଖିବେ।
his own house leading well, having children in subjection with all gravity,
5 କେହି ଯେବେ ଆପଣା ପରିବାରକୁ ଶାସନ କରିବାକୁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ, ତେବେ ସେ କିପରି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀର ଦାୟିତ୍ୱ ନେବ?
(and if any one his own house [how] to lead hath not known, how an assembly of God shall he take care of?)
6 ସେ ନୂତନ ଶିଷ୍ୟ ହୋଇ ନ ଥିବେ, କାଳେ ଅସାରଗର୍ବୀ ହୋଇ ଶୟତାନ ଭଳି ଦଣ୍ଡଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ହେବେ।
not a new convert, lest having been puffed up he may fall to a judgment of the devil;
7 ତାହାଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ୟ ବାହାର ଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ସମ୍ମାନ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ, କାଳେ ସେ ନିନ୍ଦା ପାଇ ଶୟତାନର ଫାନ୍ଦରେ ପଡ଼ିବେ।
and it behoveth him also to have a good testimony from those without, that he may not fall into reproach and a snare of the devil.
8 ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ସେବକମାନଙ୍କର ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ବିବେକରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସର ନିଗୂଢ଼ତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ଅବଲମ୍ବନ କରି ଗମ୍ଭୀର, ଛଳନାବାକ୍ୟରହିତ,
Ministrants — in like manner grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not given to filthy lucre,
9 ମଦ୍ୟପାନରେ ଅନାସକ୍ତ ଓ କୁତ୍ସିତ ଧନଲାଭରେ ନିର୍ଲୋଭ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ;
having the secret of the faith in a pure conscience,
10 ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଥମେ ପରୀକ୍ଷିତ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ, ପୁଣି, ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷ ଦେଖାଗଲେ ସେବକ ପଦରେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ।
and let these also first be proved, then let them minister, being unblameable.
11 ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ୟ ପରନିନ୍ଦାକାରିଣୀ ନ ହୋଇ ଗମ୍ଭୀର, ମିତାଚାରିଣୀ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱସ୍ତ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ।
Women — in like manner grave, not false accusers, vigilant, faithful in all things.
12 ସେବକମାନେ ଏକ ଏକ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ସ୍ୱାମୀ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ, ପୁଣି, ନିଜ ନିଜ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ପରିବାରକୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ଶାସନ କରନ୍ତୁ।
Ministrants — let them be of one wife husbands; the children leading well, and their own houses,
13 କାରଣ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ସେବକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ଉତ୍ତମ ଖ୍ୟାତି ଓ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସମୂଳକ ଅଧିକ ସାହସ ପାଇବେ।
for those who did minister well a good step to themselves do acquire, and much boldness in faith that [is] in Christ Jesus.
14 ମୁଁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବି ବୋଲି ଆଶା କରୁଅଛି;
These things I write to thee, hoping to come unto thee soon,
15 ମାତ୍ର ଯେବେ ମୋହର ବିଳମ୍ବ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ସତ୍ୟର ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ଓ ଭିତ୍ତିମୂଳ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ଜୀବିତ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀରେ, କିପରି ଆଚରଣ କରିବାକୁ ହୁଏ, ତାହା ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣି ପାର, ଏହେତୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଲେଖୁଅଛି।
and if I delay, that thou mayest know how it behoveth [thee] to conduct thyself in the house of God, which is an assembly of the living God — a pillar and foundation of the truth,
16 ଈଶ୍ବରପରାୟଣତାର ନିଗୂଢ଼ତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ଯେ ମହତ୍, ଏହା ସମସ୍ତେ ସ୍ୱୀକାର କରନ୍ତି। ତାହା ଏହି, ସେ ଦେହବନ୍ତ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେଲେ, ଆତ୍ମାରେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରମାଣିତ ହେଲେ, ଦୂତମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦେଖାଗଲେ, ଜାତିମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରଚାରିତ ହେଲେ, ଜଗତରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସପାତ୍ର ହେଲେ, ଗୌରବରେ ସେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗକୁ ଉତ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ।
and, confessedly, great is the secret of piety — God was manifested in flesh, declared righteous in spirit, seen by messengers, preached among nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory!
