ପ୍ରଥମ ଶାମୁୟେଲ 7
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ କିରୀୟଥ୍-ଯିୟାରୀମୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଆସି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ନେଇଯାଇ ପର୍ବତସ୍ଥିତ ଅବୀନାଦବର ଗୃହରେ ରଖିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକରକ୍ଷାର୍ଥେ ତାହାର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀୟାସରକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କଲେ।
Then the men of Kiriath-jearim came for the ark of the LORD and took it into Abinadab’s house on the hill. And they consecrated his son Eleazar to guard the ark of the LORD.
2 ସିନ୍ଦୁକ କିରୀୟଥ୍-ଯିୟାରୀମ୍ରେ ବାସ କରିବା ଦିନାବଧି ଦୀର୍ଘ କାଳ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, କୋଡ଼ିଏ ବର୍ଷ ଗତ ହେଲା; ଏଥିରେ ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ ବିଳାପ କଲେ।
And from that day a long time passed, twenty years in all, as the ark remained at Kiriath-jearim. And all the house of Israel mourned and sought after the LORD.
3 ତହିଁରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ସହିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଫେରୁଅଛ, ତେବେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ବିଦେଶୀୟ ଦେବତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଅଷ୍ଟାରୋତ୍ ଦେବୀଗଣକୁ ଦୂର କର ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର ଓ କେବଳ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସେବା କର; ତହିଁରେ ସେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ।”
Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the LORD with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and Ashtoreths among you, prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only. And He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”
4 ତେବେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ବାଲ୍-ଦେବତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଅଷ୍ଟାରୋତ୍ ଦେବୀଗଣକୁ ଦୂର କଲେ ଓ କେବଳ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ସେବା କଲେ।
So the Israelites put away the Baals and Ashtoreths and served only the LORD.
5 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ମିସ୍ପାରେ ଏକତ୍ର କର, ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବି।”
Then Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD on your behalf.”
6 ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ମିସ୍ପାରେ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହୋଇ ଜଳ କାଢ଼ିଲେ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ତାହା ଢାଳି ସେହି ଦିନ ଉପବାସ କରି ସେହିଠାରେ କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ କରିଅଛୁ।” ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ମିସ୍ପାରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ବିଚାର କଲେ।
When they had gathered at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the LORD. On that day they fasted, and there they confessed, “We have sinned against the LORD.” And Samuel judged the Israelites at Mizpah.
7 ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ମିସ୍ପାରେ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ଏହି କଥା ଶୁଣନ୍ତେ, ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧିପତିଗଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଉଠି ଆସିଲେ। ତହିଁରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ତାହା ଶୁଣି ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଭୀତ ହେଲେ।
When the Philistines heard that the Israelites had gathered at Mizpah, their rulers marched up toward Israel. And when the Israelites learned of this, they feared the Philistines
8 ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଶାମୁୟେଲଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେପରି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କରିବାରୁ ନିରସ୍ତ ନ ହୁଅ।”
and said to Samuel, “Do not stop crying out to the LORD our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.”
9 ତହୁଁ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଏକ ଦୁଗ୍ଧପୋଷ୍ୟ ମେଷବତ୍ସ ନେଇ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ସମୁଦାୟ ହୋମବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କଲେ; ଆଉ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ପାଇଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କଲେ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ।
Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. He cried out to the LORD on behalf of Israel, and the LORD answered him.
10 ପୁଣି, ଶାମୁୟେଲ ହୋମବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହେଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେଦିନ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ମହାରବରେ ମେଘ ଗର୍ଜ୍ଜନ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ୟାକୁଳ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପରାଜିତ ହେଲେ।
As the Philistines drew near to fight against Israel, Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering. But that day the LORD thundered loudly against the Philistines and threw them into such confusion that they fled before Israel.
11 ତହୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନେ ମିସ୍ପାରୁ ବାହାରି ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇ ବେଥ୍-କର ତଳ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ।
Then the men of Israel charged out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, striking them down all the way to an area below Beth-car.
12 ତହିଁରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଖଣ୍ଡେ ପଥର ନେଇ ମିସ୍ପା ଓ ଶେନ ମଧ୍ୟସ୍ଥାନରେ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରି ତହିଁର ନାମ ଏବନ୍-ଏଜର (ଉପକାର ସ୍ମରଣାର୍ଥକ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର) ରଖି କହିଲେ, “ଏପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଉପକାର କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।”
Afterward, Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”
13 ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ବଶୀଭୂତ ହୋଇ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ଆଉ ଆସିଲେ ନାହିଁ; ପୁଣି, ଶାମୁୟେଲଙ୍କର ଯାବଜ୍ଜୀବନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତିକୂଳ ହେଲା।
So the Philistines were subdued, and they stopped invading the territory of Israel. And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 ଆଉ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲଠାରୁ ଯେସମସ୍ତ ନଗର ହରଣ କରିଥିଲେ, ଇକ୍ରୋଣଠାରୁ ଗାଥ୍ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେସମସ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ଫେରାଇ ଦିଆଗଲା; ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ତହିଁର ସୀମା ଉଦ୍ଧାର କଲେ। ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଓ ଇମୋରୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସନ୍ଧି ହେଲା।
The cities from Ekron to Gath, which the Philistines had taken, were restored to Israel, who also delivered the surrounding territory from the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between the Israelites and the Amorites.
15 ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଆପଣାର ଯାବଜ୍ଜୀବନ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ବିଚାର କଲେ।
So Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 ସେ ପ୍ରତି ବର୍ଷ ବେଥେଲ୍ ଓ ଗିଲ୍ଗଲ୍ ଓ ମିସ୍ପାରେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରି ସେସବୁ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ବିଚାର କରୁଥିଲେ।
Every year he would go on a circuit from Bethel to Gilgal to Mizpah, judging Israel in all these places.
17 ପୁଣି, ରାମାରେ ତାଙ୍କର ଗୃହ ଥିବାରୁ ସେଠାକୁ ସେ ଫେରି ଆସୁଥିଲେ ଓ ସେଠାରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶର ବିଚାର କରୁଥିଲେ; ଆଉ ସେଠାରେ ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦି ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଥିଲେ।
Then he would return to Ramah because his home was there, and there he judged Israel and built an altar to the LORD.
