ପ୍ରଥମ ଶାମୁୟେଲ 25

1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ମଲେ; ତହୁଁ ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଏକତ୍ର ହୋଇ ତାଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ବିଳାପ କଲେ ଓ ରାମାସ୍ଥିତ ତାଙ୍କର ଗୃହରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କବର ଦେଲେ। ପୁଣି, ଦାଉଦ ଉଠି ପାରଣ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରକୁ ଗଲେ।

And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.

2 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ମାୟୋନ୍‌ସ୍ଥିତ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ କର୍ମିଲରେ ବ୍ୟବସାୟ କରୁଥିଲା; ସେ ଅତି ବଡ଼ ଲୋକ ଓ ତାହାର ତିନି ସହସ୍ର ମେଷ ଓ ଏକ ସହସ୍ର ଛାଗୀ ଥିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ କର୍ମିଲରେ ଆପଣା ମେଷଲୋମ ଛେଦନ କରୁଥିଲା।

And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.

3 ସେହି ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ନାମ ନାବଲ ଓ ତାହାର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାର ନାମ ଅବୀଗଲ; ସେହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମତୀ ଓ ରୂପବତୀ; ମାତ୍ର ସେହି ପୁରୁଷ କଟୁଭାଷୀ ଓ କୁକର୍ମକାରୀ ଓ ସେ କାଲେବ ବଂଶଜ ଥିଲା।

Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.

4 ଆଉ ନାବଲ ଆପଣା ମେଷର ଲୋମ ଛେଦନ କରୁଅଛି ବୋଲି ଦାଉଦ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ଶୁଣିଲେ।

And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal was shearing his sheep.

5 ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦ ଦଶ ଜଣ ଯୁବାଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଲେ ଓ ଦାଉଦ ସେହି ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କର୍ମିଲକୁ ଉଠି ନାବଲ କତିକି ଯାଅ ଓ ମୋହର ନାମରେ ତାହାକୁ ନମସ୍କାର ଜଣାଅ।

And David sent ten young men, and David said to the young men, Go up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name:

6 ପୁଣି, ତାହାକୁ ଏପରି କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଚିରଜୀବୀ ହୁଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗୃହର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସର୍ବସ୍ୱର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ।

And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thy house, and peace be to all that thou hast.

7 ଆମ୍ଭେ ଶୁଣିଲୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଲୋମଛେଦକମାନେ ଅଛନ୍ତି; ତୁମ୍ଭର ମେଷପାଳକମାନେ ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର କୌଣସି ଅପକାର କରି ନାହୁଁ, କିଅବା କର୍ମିଲରେ ଥିବା ସମୟଯାକ ସେମାନଙ୍କର କିଛି ହଜି ନାହିଁ।

And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds who were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there any thing missing to them, all the while they were in Carmel.

8 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଚାର, ସେମାନେ କହିବେ; ଏହେତୁ ଏହି ଯୁବାମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ପାଉନ୍ତୁ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଶୁଭ ଦିନରେ ଆସିଅଛୁ। ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରେ ଯାହା ଆସେ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆପଣା ପୁତ୍ର ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଦିଅ।’”

Ask thy young men, and they will show thee. Therefore let the young men find favour in thy eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatever cometh to thy hand to thy servants, and to thy son David.

9 ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଯୁବାମାନେ ଯାଇ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ନାବଲକୁ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା କହି କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହେଲେ।

And when David’s young men came, they spoke to Nabal in the name of David, according to all these words, and ceased.

10 ତହିଁରେ ନାବଲ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଇ କହିଲା, “ଦାଉଦ କିଏ? ଯିଶୀର ପୁତ୍ର କିଏ? ଆଜିକାଲି ଅନେକ ଦାସ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମୁନିବଠାରୁ ବିଗିଡ଼ି ବୁଲୁଛନ୍ତି।

And Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there are many servants in these days that break away every man from his master.

11 ତେବେ ମୁଁ କʼଣ ଆପଣା ରୁଟି ଓ ଆପଣା ଜଳ ଓ ଆପଣା ଲୋମଛେଦକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ହତ ପଶୁମାନଙ୍କ ମାଂସ ନେଇ କେଉଁଆଡ଼ର ଅଜ୍ଞାତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେବି?”

Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men, whom I know not from where they are?

12 ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଯୁବାମାନେ ଆପଣା ବାଟରେ ଫେରିଗଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ସେହି ସବୁ କଥା ତାଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ।

So David’s young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all these sayings.

13 ଏଥିରେ ଦାଉଦ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଖଡ୍ଗ ବାନ୍ଧ।” ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଖଡ୍ଗ ବାନ୍ଧିଲେ ଓ ଦାଉଦ ହିଁ ଆପଣା ଖଡ୍ଗ ବାନ୍ଧିଲେ; ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ପଛରେ ଊଣାଧିକ ଚାରି ଶହ ଲୋକ ଗମନ କଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଦୁଇ ଶହ ଲୋକ ସାମଗ୍ରୀ ପାଖରେ ରହିଲେ।

And David said to his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the baggage.

14 ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣେ ନାବଲର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଅବୀଗଲକୁ ଜଣାଇ କହିଲା, “ଦେଖ, ଦାଉଦ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କର୍ତ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ମଙ୍ଗଳବାଦ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରୁ ଦୂତମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଥିଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖାଇ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇଲେ।

But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master; and he railed at them.

15 ମାତ୍ର ସେହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବଡ଼ ଉପକାରୀ, ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଥିବାଯାଏ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର କୌଣସି ଅପକାର ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ, କି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିଛି ହରାଇ ନାହୁଁ।

But the men were very good to us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields:

16 ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ମେଷ ଜଗିବାର ସମୟଯାକ ସେମାନେ ରାତ୍ରିରେ ଓ ଦିନରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରାଚୀର ସ୍ୱରୂପ ଥିଲେ।

They were a wall to us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.

17 ଏହେତୁ ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କି କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ, ଏହା ବିବେଚନା କରି ବୁଝ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କର୍ତ୍ତା ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଗୃହ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ସ୍ଥିର ହୋଇଅଛି; ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଏପରି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଯେ, ତାଙ୍କୁ କେହି କିଛି କହି ନ ପାରେ।”

Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a worthless man, that a man cannot speak to him.

18 ତହୁଁ ଅବୀଗଲ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଦୁଇ ଶହ ରୁଟି ଓ ଦୁଇ କୁମ୍ପା ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ଓ ପାଞ୍ଚୋଟି କଟା ମେଷ ଓ ପାଞ୍ଚ ଗଉଣୀ ଭଜା ଶସ୍ୟ ଓ ଶହେ ପେଣ୍ଡା ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାଫଳ ଓ ଦୁଇ ଶହ ଡିମ୍ବିରି ଚକ୍ତି ନେଇ ଗଧମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ନଦିଲା।

Then Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two bottles of wine, and five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of roasted grain, and an hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on donkeys.

19 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଆପଣା ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ମୋହର ଆଗେ ଆଗେ ଚାଲ; ଦେଖ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଯାଉଅଛି।” ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଆପଣା ସ୍ୱାମୀ ନାବଲକୁ ଏହା ଜଣାଇଲା ନାହିଁ।

And she said to her servants, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal.

20 ଏରୂପେ ସେ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ଉପରେ ଚଢ଼ି ପର୍ବତ ଉହାଡ଼ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସନ୍ତେ, ଦେଖ, ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ଅବୀଗଲ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ଓ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିଲା।

And it was so, as she rode on the donkey, that she came down by the covert of the hill, and, behold, David and his men came down toward her; and she met them.

21 ପୂର୍ବରେ ଦାଉଦ କହିଥିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଏଇଟାର ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ଥିବା ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟସବୁ ଖାଲି ମିଛରେ ଜଗିଲି, ଏହାର ସବୁ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟରୁ କିଛି ହରଣ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଭଲ ପାଲଟେ ମୋର ମନ୍ଦ କରିଅଛି।

Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained to him: and he hath repaid me evil for good.

22 ଏହାର ଯାହା କିଛି ଅଛି, ସେସବୁ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଯେବେ ସକାଳ ଆଲୁଅ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁରୁଷ ପିଲା ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରଖେ, ତେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡ, ମଧ୍ୟ ତହିଁରୁ ଅଧିକ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ।”

So and more also do God to the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any male person.

23 ଏଣୁ ଅବୀଗଲ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖନ୍ତେ, ଶୀଘ୍ର ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭରୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ି ଭୂମିଷ୍ଠ ପ୍ରଣାମ କଲା।

And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and got off the donkey, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground,

24 ପୁଣି, ତାଙ୍କ ଚରଣରେ ପଡ଼ି କହିଲା, “ହେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୋ, ମୋʼ ଉପରେ, ମୋହର ଉପରେ ହିଁ ସେହି ଅପରାଧ ବର୍ତ୍ତୁ; ଆପଣା ଦାସୀକୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ କର୍ଣ୍ଣଗୋଚରରେ କହିବାକୁ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ ଓ ଆପଣା ଦାସୀର କଥା ଆପଣ ଶୁଣନ୍ତୁ।

And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this iniquity be: and let thy handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thy hearing, and hear the words of thy handmaid.

25 ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୋ, ସେହି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ନାବଲକୁ ମନରେ ନ କରନ୍ତୁ; କାରଣ ତାହାର ନାମ ଯେପରି, ସେ ସେପରି; ତାହାର ନାମ ନାବଲ ଓ ମୂଢ଼ତା ତାହାଠାରେ ଅଛି; ମାତ୍ର ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଏହି ଦାସୀ ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରେରିତ ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ନାହିଁ।

Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this worthless man, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thy handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.

26 ହେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୋ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ତପାତ ଦୋଷରୁ ଓ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିଜ ହସ୍ତରେ ଆତ୍ମ-ପ୍ରତିକାର କରିବାରୁ ବାରଣ କଲେ, ଏହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଓ ଆପଣ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନେ ଓ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣକାରୀମାନେ ନାବଲ ପରି ହେଉନ୍ତୁ।

Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing the LORD hath withheld thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thy own hand, now let thy enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

27 ଏଣୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସୀ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଭେଟି ଆଣିଅଛି, ତାହା ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗାମୀ ଯୁବାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଆଯାଉ।

And now this blessing which thy handmaid hath brought to my lord, let it even be given to the young men that follow my lord.

28 ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସୀର ଅପରାଧ କ୍ଷମା କରନ୍ତୁ; ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ସୁସ୍ଥିର କରିବେ ଓ ଯାବଜ୍ଜୀବନ ଆପଣଙ୍କଠାରେ ମନ୍ଦତା ଦେଖା ନ ଯିବ।

I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thy handmaid: for the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the LORD, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days.

29 ପୁଣି, ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ତାଡ଼ନା କରିବାକୁ ଓ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ନେବାକୁ ଉଠିଲେ ହେଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ଜୀବନରୂପ ଗଣ୍ଠିଲୀରେ ଗଣ୍ଠି ପଡ଼ି ରହିବ; ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ଛାଟିଣୀଖୋଲରୁ ଫିଙ୍ଗିଦେଲା ପରି ଫିଙ୍ଗି ଦେବେ।

Yet a man hath risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thy enemies, them shall he sling out, as from the middle of a sling.

30 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଯେସମସ୍ତ ମଙ୍ଗଳ କଥା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସଫଳ କରି ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଅଗ୍ରଣୀ ରୂପେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିବେ,

And it shall come to pass, when the LORD shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel;

31 ସେତେବେଳେ ଆପଣ ଅକାରଣରେ ରକ୍ତପାତ କଲେ, କିଅବା ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁ ନିଜେ ଆତ୍ମ-ପ୍ରତିକାର କଲେ ବୋଲି ଆପଣଙ୍କର ବିଘ୍ନ କି ହୃଦୟର ବ୍ୟସ୍ତତା ଜନ୍ମିବ ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ମଙ୍ଗଳ କରିବା ବେଳେ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ଏହି ଦାସୀକୁ ସ୍ମରଣ କରିବେ।”

That this shall be no grief to thee, nor offence of heart to my lord, either that thou hast shed blood without cause, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thy handmaid.

32 ଏଥିରେ ଦାଉଦ ଅବୀଗଲକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆଜି ଯେ ମୋʼ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପଠାଇଲେ, ସେହି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଧନ୍ୟ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ;

And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who sent thee this day to meet me:

33 ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭର ସୁବିଚାର ଧନ୍ୟ ହେଉ ଓ ଆଜି ମୋତେ ରକ୍ତପାତ ଦୋଷରୁ ଓ ମୋର ନିଜ ହସ୍ତରେ ଆତ୍ମ-ପ୍ରତିକାରରୁ ନିବୃତ୍ତ କଲ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଧନ୍ୟା ହୁଅ।

And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, who hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with my own hand.

34 କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ହିଂସା କରିବାରୁ ମୋତେ ବାରଣ କଲେ ଯେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ତାହାଙ୍କର ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଏହା ସତ୍ୟ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ମୋତେ ଭେଟିବା ପାଇଁ ଆସି ନ ଥିଲେ, ସକାଳ ଆଲୁଅ ବେଳକୁ ନାବଲର ଗୋଟିଏ ପୁରୁଷ ପିଲା ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ନ ଥାଆନ୍ତା।”

For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, who hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left to Nabal by the morning light any male person.

35 ତହୁଁ ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଯାହା ଆଣିଥିଲା, ଦାଉଦ ତାହା ହସ୍ତରୁ ତାହା ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ ଓ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “କୁଶଳରେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହକୁ ଯାଅ; ଦେଖ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ରବ ଶୁଣିଲି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ କଲି।”

So David received from her hand that which she had brought him, and said to her, Return in peace to thy house; see, I have hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy person.

36 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅବୀଗଲ ନାବଲ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲା, ସେତେବେଳେ ଦେଖ, ସେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହରେ ରାଜଭୋଜ ପରି ଭୋଜ କରିଥିଲା; ପୁଣି, ନାବଲ ଅତିଶୟ ମତ୍ତ ଥିବାରୁ ତାହାର ମନ ଅତି ପ୍ରଫୁଲ୍ଲ ଥିଲା; ଏହେତୁ ସକାଳ ଆଲୁଅ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅବୀଗଲ ତାହାକୁ ଅଳ୍ପ ବା ବହୁତ କୌଣସି କଥା ଜଣାଇଲା ନାହିଁ।

And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart was merry within him, for he was very drunk: therefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.

37 ମାତ୍ର ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳରେ ନାବଲର ମତ୍ତତା ତୁଟନ୍ତେ, ତାହାର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ତାହାକୁ ସେହି ସବୁ କଥା ଜଣାଇଲା; ତହିଁରେ ତାହାର ହୃଦୟ ତାହା ଅନ୍ତରରେ ମରିଗଲା ଓ ସେ ପଥର ପରି ହୋଇଗଲା।

But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine had left Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.

38 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଊଣାଧିକ ଦଶ ଦିନ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନାବଲକୁ ଆଘାତ କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ମଲା।

And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died.

39 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ନାବଲ ମରିଅଛି, ଏହା ଦାଉଦ ଶୁଣି କହିଲେ, “ନାବଲ ହସ୍ତରୁ ମୋହର ଅପମାନଜନକ ବିବାଦର ପ୍ରତିବାଦ କଲେ ଓ ଆପଣା ଦାସକୁ ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମରୁ ନିବୃତ୍ତ କଲେ ଯେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ସେ ଧନ୍ୟ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ; ଆଉ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନାବଲର ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମର ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ତାହା ମସ୍ତକରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତାଇଅଛନ୍ତି।” ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ଅବୀଗଲକୁ ବିବାହ କରିବା ବିଷୟ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହା ନିକଟକୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇଲେ।

And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and talked with Abigail, to take her to himself for a wife.

40 ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଦାସମାନେ କର୍ମିଲକୁ; ଅବୀଗଲ କତିକି ଆସି ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦାଉଦ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବିବାହ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନେବାକୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ କତିକି ପଠାଇଅଛନ୍ତି।”

And when the servants of David had come to Abigail to Carmel, they spoke to her, saying, David hath sent us to thee, to take thee to him for a wife.

41 ଏଥିରେ ସେ ଉଠି ଭୂମିଷ୍ଠ ପ୍ରଣାମ କରି କହିଲା, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦାସୀ ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ପାଦ ଧୋଇବା ଦାସୀ।”

And she arose, and bowed herself on her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let thy handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.

42 ତହୁଁ ଅବୀଗଲ ନିଜର ପାଞ୍ଚ ଅନୁଚରୀ ଯୁବତୀଙ୍କି ସଙ୍ଗେ ଘେନି ଶୀଘ୍ର ଉଠି ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ଉପରେ ଆରୋହଣ କଲା; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଦୂତମାନଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍‍ଗମନ କରି ତାଙ୍କର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ହେଲା।

And Abigail hasted, and arose, and rode upon a donkey, with five damsels of hers that went after her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife.

43 ମଧ୍ୟ ଦାଉଦ ଯିଷ୍ରିୟେଲୀୟା ଅହୀନୋୟମକୁ ବିବାହ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଦୁହେଁ ତାଙ୍କର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ହେଲେ।

David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they were also both of them his wives.

44 ମାତ୍ର ଶାଉଲ ଆପଣା ମୀଖଲ ନାମ୍ନୀ କନ୍ୟା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ଗଲ୍ଲୀମ ନିବାସୀ ଲୟିଶର ପୁତ୍ର ପଲ୍ଟିକୁ ଦେଇଥିଲେ।

But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David’s wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, who was of Gallim.
