ପ୍ରଥମ ରାଜାବଳୀ 20
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅରାମର ରାଜା ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଆପଣାର ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ୟ ଏକତ୍ର କଲା; ପୁଣି, ତାହା ସଙ୍ଗେ ବତିଶ ରାଜା, ଆଉ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଓ ରଥମାନ ଥିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଯାଇ ଶମରୀୟା ଅବରୋଧ କରି ତହିଁ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କଲା।
Ben Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together; and there were thirty-two kings with him, with horses and chariots. He went up and besieged Samaria, and fought against it.
2 ଆଉ ନଗର ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଆହାବଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୂତଗଣ ପଠାଇ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି,
He sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel and said to him, “Ben Hadad says,
3 ‘ତୁମ୍ଭର ରୂପା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସୁନା ମୋହର ଅଟେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ, ମଧ୍ୟ ସର୍ବୋତ୍ତମ ଯେତେ, ମୋହର ଅଟନ୍ତି।’”
‘Your silver and your gold are mine. Your wives also and your children, even the best, are mine.’”
4 ଏଥିରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲେ, “ହେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୋ, ମହାରାଜ, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ମୁଁ ଓ ମୋର ସର୍ବସ୍ୱ ହିଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କର।”
The king of Israel answered, “It is according to your saying, my lord, O king. I am yours, and all that I have.”
5 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦୂତମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ରୂପା, ଆପଣା ସୁନା, ଆପଣା ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଓ ଆପଣା ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୋʼ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କର ବୋଲି ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହି ପଠାଇଲି;
The messengers came again and said, “Ben Hadad says, ‘I sent indeed to you, saying, “You shall deliver me your silver, your gold, your wives, and your children;
6 ମାତ୍ର କାଲି ପ୍ରାୟ ଏହି ସମୟରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇବି, ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗୃହ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରିବେ; ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯାହା ଯାହା ମନୋହର, ତାହାସବୁ ସେମାନେ ହାତରେ ଧରି ନେଇଯିବେ।’”
but I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they will search your house and the houses of your servants. Whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they will put it in their hand, and take it away.”’”
7 ତେବେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଦେଶର ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ଡକାଇ କହିଲେ, “ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିଚାର କରି ଦେଖ, ଏ ଲୋକ କିପରି ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରୁଅଛି; କାରଣ ସେ ମୋʼ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା ଓ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ପାଇଁ, ପୁଣି, ମୋହର ରୂପା ଓ ସୁନା ପାଇଁ ଲୋକ ପଠାନ୍ତେ, ମୁଁ ତାହାକୁ ମନା କଲି ନାହିଁ।”
Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, “Please notice how this man seeks mischief; for he sent to me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I didn’t deny him.”
8 ଏଥିରେ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗ ଓ ସମୁଦାୟ ଲୋକ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣ ତାହାର କଥାରେ କର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ, ଅବା ସମ୍ମତ ନ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ।”
All the elders and all the people said to him, “Don’t listen, and don’t consent.”
9 ଏହେତୁ ସେ ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ର ଦୂତମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋହର ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ଆପଣ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଆପଣା ଦାସ ନିକଟକୁ ଯହିଁ ପାଇଁ ପଠାଇଥିଲେ, ସେସବୁ ମୁଁ କରିବି; ମାତ୍ର ଏହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ମୁଁ କରି ପାରିବି ନାହିଁ।” ତହୁଁ ଦୂତମାନେ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରି ତାହାକୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଲେ।
Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” The messengers departed and brought him back the message.
10 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ କହିଲା, “ଯେବେ ଶମରୀୟାର ଧୂଳି ମୋʼ ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ଗାମୀ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ମୁଷ୍ଟି ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯଥେଷ୍ଟ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ଦେବତାମାନେ ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡ, ମଧ୍ୟ ତହିଁରୁ ଅଧିକ ମୋତେ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ।”
Ben Hadad sent to him, and said, “The gods do so to me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria will be enough for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”
11 ତହୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲେ, “ତାହାକୁ କୁହ, ଯେ ସଜ୍ଜା ପରିଧାନ କରେ, ସେ ସଜ୍ଜା ତ୍ୟାଗ କରିବା ଲୋକ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଦର୍ପ ନ କରୁ।”
The king of Israel answered, “Tell him, ‘Don’t let him who puts on his armour brag like he who takes it off.’”
12 ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଓ ରାଜାମାନେ କୁଟୀରରେ ପାନ କରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ ସେ ଏହି ସମ୍ବାଦ ଶୁଣି ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଜାଅ।” ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ନଗର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଜାଇଲେ।
When Ben Hadad heard this message as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, he said to his servants, “Prepare to attack!” So they prepared to attack the city.
13 ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଦେଖ, ଜଣେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଆହାବଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ କି ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ମହାଜନତା ଦେଖିଅଛ? ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆଜି ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅଟୁ, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜ୍ଞାତ ହେବ।’”
Behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
14 ତହିଁରେ ଆହାବ ପଚାରିଲେ, “କାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା?” ସେ କହିଲେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କ ଯୁବା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା। ତେବେ ସେ ପଚାରିଲେ, “କିଏ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବ?” ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ।”
Ahab said, “By whom?” He said, “The LORD says, ‘By the young men of the princes of the provinces.’” Then he said, “Who shall begin the battle?” He answered, “You.”
15 ତହୁଁ ସେ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କ ଯୁବା ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଗଣନା କଲେ, ସେମାନେ ଦୁଇ ଶହ ବତିଶ ଜଣ ହେଲେ, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସମୁଦାୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ସମଗ୍ର ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଣନା କରନ୍ତେ, ସାତ ସହସ୍ର ଜଣ ହେଲେ।
Then he mustered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty-two. After them, he mustered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.
16 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟାହ୍ନ କାଳରେ ବାହାରିଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଓ ତାହାର ସାହାଯ୍ୟକାରୀ ବତିଶ ଜଣ ରାଜା କୁଟୀରରେ ପାନ କରି ମତ୍ତ ହେଉଥିଲେ।
They went out at noon. But Ben Hadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty-two kings who helped him.
17 ଏହି ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କ ଯୁବା ଲୋକେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ବାହାରିଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଲୋକ ପଠାନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଇ କହିଲେ, “ଶମରୀୟାରୁ ଲୋକେ ଆସିଅଛନ୍ତି।”
The young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Ben Hadad sent out, and they told him, saying, “Men are coming out from Samaria.”
18 ତହୁଁ ସେ କହିଲା, “ସେମାନେ ସନ୍ଧି ପାଇଁ ଆସିଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବିତ ଧର, ପୁଣି, ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ପାଇଁ ଆସିଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବିତ ଧର।”
He said, “If they have come out for peace, take them alive; or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”
19 ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କ ସେହି ଯୁବାମାନେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ଗାମୀ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ ନଗରରୁ ବାହାରିଲେ।
So these went out of the city, the young men of the princes of the provinces, and the army which followed them.
20 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିଯୋଦ୍ଧାକୁ ବଧ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ ପଳାଇଲେ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଅରାମର ରାଜା ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଅଶ୍ୱାରୋହୀମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଏକ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଆରୋହଣ କରି ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଲା।
They each killed his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them. Ben Hadad the king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.
21 ଏଥିରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଓ ରଥସକଳ ଆଘାତ କଲେ ଓ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ମହାସଂହାରରେ ବଧ କଲେ।
The king of Israel went out and struck the horses and chariots, and killed the Syrians with a great slaughter.
22 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେହି ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଯାଅ, ଆପଣାକୁ ସବଳ କର ଓ ଯାହା କରୁଅଛ, ତାହା ବିଚାର କରି ଦେଖ; କାରଣ ଆସନ୍ତା ବର୍ଷ ଅରାମର ରାଜା ପୁନର୍ବାର ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆସିବ।”
The prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him, “Go, strengthen yourself, and plan what you must do, for at the return of the year, the king of Syria will come up against you.”
23 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅରାମ-ରାଜାର ଦାସମାନେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଦେବତା ପର୍ବତଗଣର ଦେବତା ଅଟନ୍ତି; ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବଳବାନ ହେଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯଦି ପଦାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରୁ, ତେବେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଅଧିକ ବଳବାନ ହେବା।
The servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their god is a god of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we. But let’s fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they.
24 ଏଣୁ ଏହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତୁ; ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତି ଜଣକୁ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନରୁ କାଢ଼ି ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସେନାପତିମାନଙ୍କୁ ରଖନ୍ତୁ;
Do this thing: take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their place.
25 ଆଉ ଆପଣ ଯେଉଁ ସୈନ୍ୟ ହରାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାରି ପରି ସୈନ୍ୟ ଓ ଅଶ୍ୱ ବଦଳେ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଓ ରଥ ବଦଳେ ରଥ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରନ୍ତୁ; ତହୁଁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପଦାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା, ଆଉ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ବଳବାନ ହେବା।” ଏଥିରେ ରାଜା ସେମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣି ସେହିରୂପ କଲା।
Muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse and chariot for chariot. We will fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they are.” He listened to their voice and did so.
26 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ପର ବର୍ଷ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଣନା କରି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଅଫେକକୁ ଗଲା।
At the return of the year, Ben Hadad mustered the Syrians and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel.
27 ତହିଁରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଗଣିତ ହୋଇ ଖାଦ୍ୟ-ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟାଦି ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯାତ୍ରା କଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ଦୁଇ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ଛାଗପଲ ପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଅରାମୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଦେଶଯାକ ବ୍ୟାପିଲେ।
The children of Israel were mustered and given provisions, and went against them. The children of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of young goats, but the Syrians filled the country.
28 ତହିଁରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ‘ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପର୍ବତଗଣର ଦେବତା, ମାତ୍ର ତଳଭୂମିର ଦେବତା ନୁହନ୍ତି; ଏହେତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ମହାଜନତାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା, ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜ୍ଞାତ ହେବ।’”
A man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The LORD is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.’”
29 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ସାତ ଦିନ ସମ୍ମୁଖାସମ୍ମୁଖୀ ହୋଇ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାପନ କରି ରହିଲେ। ତହୁଁ ସପ୍ତମ ଦିନରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସଂଘଟନ ହେଲା; ତହିଁରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଏକ ଦିନରେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ଏକ ଲକ୍ଷ ପଦାତିକ ସୈନ୍ୟ ବଧ କଲେ।
They encamped opposite each other for seven days. Then on the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Israel killed one hundred thousand footmen of the Syrians in one day.
30 ମାତ୍ର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ସମସ୍ତେ ଅଫେକକୁ ପଳାଇ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ; ଆଉ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ସତାଇଶ ହଜାର ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପାଚେରୀ ପଡ଼ିଲା। ପୁଣି, ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ପଳାଇ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ଗୋଟିଏ ଭିତର କୋଠରିକୁ ଗଲା।
But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and the wall fell on twenty-seven thousand men who were left. Ben Hadad fled and came into the city, into an inner room.
31 ଏଥିରେ ତାହାର ଦାସମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଶୁଣିଅଛୁ ଯେ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶୀୟ ରାଜାମାନେ ଦୟାଳୁ ଅଟନ୍ତି; ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛୁ, ଆସନ୍ତୁ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଟିରେ ଅଖା ପିନ୍ଧି ଓ ମସ୍ତକରେ ରଜ୍ଜୁ ବାନ୍ଧି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଉ; କେଜାଣି ସେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ବଞ୍ଚାଇବେ।”
His servants said to him, “See now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Please let us put sackcloth on our bodies and ropes on our heads, and go out to the king of Israel. Maybe he will save your life.”
32 ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ କଟିରେ ଅଖା ଓ ମସ୍ତକରେ ରଜ୍ଜୁ ବାନ୍ଧି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ କହୁଅଛି, ‘ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ମୋତେ ବଞ୍ଚାଉନ୍ତୁ।’” ଏଥିରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ସେ କʼଣ ଏଯାଏ ବଞ୍ଚିଅଛି? ସେ ତ ମୋହର ଭାଇ।”
So they put sackcloth on their bodies and ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, “Your servant Ben Hadad says, ‘Please let me live.’” He said, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”
33 ସେତେବେଳେ ସେହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯତ୍ନପୂର୍ବକ ନିରୀକ୍ଷଣ କରି ତାହାର ମନ ସେପରି କି ନାହିଁ, ଏହା ଧରିବାକୁ ଚଞ୍ଚଳ ହେଲେ; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଭ୍ରାତା ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍।” ତେବେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାଇ ତାହାକୁ ଆଣ।” ତହୁଁ ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାହାକୁ ରଥ ଉପରକୁ ଅଣାଇଲେ।
Now the men observed diligently and hurried to take this phrase; and they said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Go, bring him.” Then Ben Hadad came out to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
34 ସେତେବେଳେ ବିନ୍ହଦଦ୍ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ମୋʼ ପିତା ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପିତାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ନେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ମୁଁ ଫେରାଇ ଦେବି; ପୁଣି, ଯେପରି ମୋʼ ପିତା ଶମରୀୟାରେ ନଗରଗୁଡ଼ିକ କରିଥିଲେ, ସେପରି ଆପଣ ଦମ୍ମେଶକରେ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ କରିବେ।” ଏଥିରେ ଆହାବ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଏହି ନିୟମରେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦେବି।” ତହୁଁ ସେ ତାହା ସଙ୍ଗେ ନିୟମ କରି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦେଲେ।
Ben Hadad said to him, “The cities which my father took from your father I will restore. You shall make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” “I”, said Ahab, “will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.
35 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଗଣଙ୍କ ଦଳ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି ଜଣେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣା ସଙ୍ଗୀକୁ କହିଲା, “ମୁଁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି; ମୋତେ ମାର।” ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଲୋକ ତାକୁ ମାରିବା ପାଇଁ ମନା କଲା।
A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the LORD’s word, “Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.
36 ତହୁଁ ସେ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲା, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ମାନିଲ ନାହିଁ, ଏହେତୁ ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲାକ୍ଷଣେ ସିଂହ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବଧ କରିବ।” ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲାକ୍ଷଣେ ସିଂହ ତାହାକୁ ଭେଟି ବଧ କଲା।
Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the LORD’s voice, behold, as soon as you have departed from me, a lion will kill you.” As soon as he had departed from him, a lion found him and killed him.
37 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଆଉ ଏକ ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ ଭେଟି କହିଲା, “ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ମୋତେ ମାର।” ତହୁଁ ସେ ଲୋକ ତାହାକୁ ମାରିଲା ଓ ମାରି ମାରି ତାହାକୁ କ୍ଷତବିକ୍ଷତ କଲା।
Then he found another man, and said, “Please strike me.” The man struck him and wounded him.
38 ଏଥିରେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରି ପଥରେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷାରେ ରହିଲା ଓ ଆପଣା ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଉପରେ ପାଗ ବାନ୍ଧି ଛଦ୍ମବେଶ ଧରିଲା।
So the prophet departed and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with his headband over his eyes.
39 ତହୁଁ ରାଜା ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଯିବା ବେଳେ ସେ ଡାକ ପକାଇ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା; “ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ବାହାରି ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲା; ଆଉ ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ଜଣେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ପାଖକୁ ଫେରି ଏକ ଲୋକକୁ ଆଣି କହିଲା, ‘ଏ ଲୋକକୁ ରଖ; ଯେବେ କୌଣସି ରୂପେ ତାହାର ସନ୍ଧାନ ନ ମିଳେ, ତେବେ ତାହାର ପ୍ରାଣ ବଦଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରାଣ ଯିବ, ନୋହିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏକ ତାଳନ୍ତ ରୂପା ଦେବ।’
As the king passed by, he cried to the king, and he said, “Your servant went out into the middle of the battle; and behold, a man came over and brought a man to me, and said, ‘Guard this man! If by any means he is missing, then your life shall be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.’
40 ମାତ୍ର ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ଏଣେତେଣେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ବ୍ୟସ୍ତ ହେବା ବେଳେ ସେ ଚାଲିଗଲା।” ତହିଁରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର ଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପେ ତାହା ନିଷ୍ପତ୍ତି କରିଅଛ।”
As your servant was busy here and there, he was gone.” The king of Israel said to him, “So shall your judgement be. You yourself have decided it.”
41 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଆପଣା ଚକ୍ଷୁରୁ ପାଗ କାଢ଼ି ପକାଇଲା; ତହୁଁ ସେ ଯେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଜଣେ, ଏହା ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଚିହ୍ନିଲେ।
He hurried, and took the headband away from his eyes; and the king of Israel recognised that he was one of the prophets.
42 ପୁଣି, ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକକୁ ବିନାଶାର୍ଥେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିଥିଲୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାକୁ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତରୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦେଇଅଛ, ‘ଏହେତୁ ତାହାର ପ୍ରାଣ ବଦଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରାଣ ଯିବ ଓ ତାହାର ଲୋକଙ୍କ ବଦଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିବେ।’”
He said to him, “The LORD says, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life will take the place of his life, and your people take the place of his people.’”
43 ତହୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ବିଷଣ୍ଣ ଓ ଅତୁଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇ ଆପଣା ଗୃହକୁ ଯାଇ ଶମରୀୟାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ।
The king of Israel went to his house sullen and angry, and came to Samaria.
