ପ୍ରଥମ ରାଜାବଳୀ 19
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆହାବ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କର କୃତ ସମସ୍ତ କର୍ମର ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ ଓ ସେ କିପରି ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ଈଷେବଲ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ।
Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
2 ତହିଁରେ ଈଷେବଲ୍ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୂତ ପଠାଇ ଏହି କଥା କହିଲା, “ପ୍ରାୟ କାଲି ଏହି ସମୟକୁ ଯେବେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଜଣକର ପ୍ରାଣ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ନ କରେ, ତେବେ ଦେବତାମାନେ ମୋତେ ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡ, ମଧ୍ୟ ତହିଁରୁ ଅଧିକ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ।”
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life like the life of one of those dead prophets by tomorrow about this time.”
3 ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ଏହା ଦେଖି ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ସକାଶେ ଉଠିଯାଇ ଯିହୁଦାର ବେର୍ଶେବା ନଗରରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ଓ ସେଠାରେ ଆପଣା ଦାସକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଲେ।
When Elijah heard that, he arose and fled for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଆପେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ଭିତରକୁ ଦିନକର ପଥ ଯାଇ ଏକ ରେତମବୃକ୍ଷ ମୂଳରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ବସିଲେ ଓ ଆପଣା ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ-ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରି କହିଲେ, “ଯଥେଷ୍ଟ ହେଲାଣି; ଏବେ ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ମୋର ପ୍ରାଣ ନିଅ; କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଭଲ ନୁହେଁ।”
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. He requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough, now, Yahweh; take away my life, for I am no better than my dead ancestors.”
5 ତହୁଁ ସେ ରେତମବୃକ୍ଷ ମୂଳେ ଶୟନ କରି ନିଦ୍ରା ଗଲେ; ଏଥିରେ ଦେଖ, ଏକ ଦୂତ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ଭୋଜନ କର।”
So he lay down and slept under a broom tree. Suddenly an angel touched him and said to him, “Get up and eat.”
6 ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଅନାନ୍ତେ, ଦେଖ, ତାଙ୍କ ମସ୍ତକ ପାଖରେ ଅଙ୍ଗାରରେ ପକ୍ୱ ଏକ ପିଠା ଓ ଏକ ପାତ୍ର ଜଳ ଅଛି। ଏଣୁ ସେ ଭୋଜନପାନ କରି ପୁନର୍ବାର ଶୟନ କଲେ।
Elijah looked, and near his head was bread that had been baked on coals and a jug of water. So he ate and drank and then lay down again.
7 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୂତ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଥର ଆସି ତାଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ଭୋଜନ କର; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଶକ୍ତିରୁ ପଥ ଅଧିକ।”
The angel of Yahweh came again a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, because the journey will be too much for you.”
8 ତହୁଁ ସେ ଉଠି ଭୋଜନପାନ କଲେ ଓ ସେହି ଖାଦ୍ୟର ବଳରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପର୍ବତ ହୋରେବ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଚାଳିଶ ଦିନ ଓ ଚାଳିଶ ରାତ୍ରି ଗମନ କଲେ।
So he arose and ate and drank, and he traveled in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.
9 ଆଉ ସେ ସେଠାସ୍ଥିତ ଏକ ଗହ୍ୱରରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ରାତ୍ରି କ୍ଷେପଣ କଲେ; ସେତେବେଳେ ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା ଓ ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଏଲୀୟ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏଠାରେ କʼଣ କରୁଅଛ?”
He went to a cave there and stayed in it. Then the word of Yahweh came to him and said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ ହେଲି; କାରଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିୟମ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିସବୁ ଉତ୍ପାଟନ କଲେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ବଧ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ, କେବଳ ମୁଁ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିଲି; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରାଣ ନେବାକୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।”
Elijah replied, “I have been very zealous for Yahweh, God of hosts, for the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, destroyed your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. Now I, only I, am left and they are also trying to take my life.”
11 ଏଥିରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଏହି ପର୍ବତରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଠିଆ ହୁଅ।” ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଗମନ କଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ଓ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ ବାୟୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପର୍ବତଗଣକୁ ବିଦୀର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲା ଓ ଶୈଳସବୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଖଣ୍ଡ ଖଣ୍ଡ କଲା; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ବାୟୁରେ ନ ଥିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ବାୟୁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଭୂମିକମ୍ପ ହେଲା; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଭୂମିକମ୍ପରେ ନ ଥିଲେ।
Yahweh replied, “Go out and stand on the mountain before me.” Then Yahweh passed by, and a very strong wind struck the mountains and broke rocks into pieces before Yahweh, but Yahweh was not in the wind. Then after the wind, an earthquake came, but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.
12 ଆଉ ଭୂମିକମ୍ପ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅଗ୍ନି ହେଲା; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ନ ଥିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଅଗ୍ନି ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏକ ଶାନ୍ତ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ରବ ହେଲା।
Then after the earthquake a fire came, but Yahweh was not in the fire. Then after the fire, a still small voice came.
13 ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ତାହା ଶୁଣନ୍ତେ, ଆପଣା ବସ୍ତ୍ରରେ ମୁଖ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କରି ବାହାରେ ଯାଇ ଗହ୍ୱର-ମୁଖ ନିକଟରେ ଠିଆ ହେଲେ। ତହିଁରେ ଦେଖ, ଏକ ରବ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ କହିଲା, “ଏଲୀୟ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏଠାରେ କଅଣ କରୁଅଛ?”
When Elijah heard the voice, he wrapped his face in his cloak, went out, and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then a voice came to him that said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 ତହୁଁ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ ହେଲି; କାରଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିୟମ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିସବୁ ଉତ୍ପାଟନ କଲେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ବଧ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ, କେବଳ ମୁଁ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିଲି; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ନେବାକୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।”

15 ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣା ପଥରେ ଫେରି ଦମ୍ମେଶକ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରକୁ ଯାଅ; ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେଠାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ, ହସାୟେଲକୁ ଅରାମ ଉପରେ ରାଜାଭିଷିକ୍ତ କର;
Then Yahweh said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus, and when you arrive you will anoint Hazael to be king over Aram,
16 ଆଉ ନିମ୍ଶିର ପୁତ୍ର ଯେହୂଙ୍କୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ରାଜାଭିଷିକ୍ତ କର; ଆଉ ଆବେଲ୍-ମହୋଲା ନିବାସୀ ଶାଫଟ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପଦରେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା କରି ଅଭିଷେକ କର।
and you will anoint Jehu son of Nimshi to be king over Israel, and you will anoint Elisha son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.
17 ତହିଁରେ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ହସାୟେଲର ଖଡ୍ଗରୁ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ଯେହୂ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବ ଓ ଯେ ଯେହୂର ଖଡ୍ଗରୁ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ତାହାକୁ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ବଧ କରିବ।
It will happen that Jehu will kill whoever escapes from the sword of Hazael, and that Elisha will kill whoever escapes from the sword of Jehu.
18 ତଥାପି ଆମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ ସାତ ସହସ୍ର ଲୋକ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରଖିବା, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ଆଣ୍ଠୁ ବାଲ୍ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ନତ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ମୁଖ ତାହାକୁ ଚୁମ୍ବନ କରି ନାହିଁ।”
But I will leave for myself seven thousand people in Israel, whose knees have not bent down to Baal, and whose mouths have not kissed him.”
19 ଏଥିରେ ଏଲୀୟ ଏଠାରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରି ଶାଫଟ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କର ସନ୍ଧାନ ପାଇଲେ। ସେସମୟରେ ସେ ହଳ ବୁଲାଉଥିଲେ, ତାଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ବାର ହଳ ବଳଦ ଥିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ସେ ଦ୍ୱାଦଶ ହଳରେ ଥିଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ଏଲୀୟ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ ଆପଣା ବସ୍ତ୍ର ତାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପକାଇଲେ।
So Elijah left from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he himself was plowing with the twelfth yoke. Elijah walked over to Elisha and draped his cloak on him.
20 ତହିଁରେ ସେ ବଳଦ ଛାଡ଼ି ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ପଛେ ଦୌଡ଼ି ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ମୋʼ ପିତା ଓ ମାତାଙ୍କୁ ଚୁମ୍ବନ ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଅନୁମତି ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ, ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପଛେ ଯିବି।” ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଫେରିଯାଅ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଚିନ୍ତା କର ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କଅଣ କଲୁ।”
Then Elisha left the oxen and ran after Elijah; he said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” Then Elijah said to him, “Go back, but think about what I have done to you.”
21 ତହିଁରେ ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ଗମନରୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ ଓ ସେହି ବଳଦ ହଳକ ନେଇ ବଧ କରି ଯୁଆଳି କାଠରେ ସେହି ମାଂସ ସିଦ୍ଧ କରି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଅନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ଭୋଜନ କଲେ। ତହୁଁ ସେ ଉଠି ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କର ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ଗମନ କରି ତାଙ୍କର ପରିଚର୍ଯ୍ୟା କଲେ।
So Elisha returned from Elijah and took the yoke of oxen, killed the animals, and cooked the meat with the wood from the ox yoke. Then he gave it to the people and they ate. Then he arose, went after Elijah and served him.
