ପ୍ରଥମ ରାଜାବଳୀ 18
1 ଅନେକ ଦିନ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୃତୀୟ ବର୍ଷରେ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା, ଯଥା, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଇ ଆହାବକୁ ଦେଖା ଦିଅ; ତହୁଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଭୂମିକୁ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ପଠାଇବା।”
After many dayes, the worde of the Lord came to Eliiah, in the third yeere, saying, Goe, shewe thy selfe vnto Ahab, and I will sende rayne vpon the earth.
2 ଏଥିରେ ଏଲୀୟ ଆହାବଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖା ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଗମନ କଲେ। ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଶମରୀୟାରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ହୋଇଥିଲା।
And Eliiah went to shew himselfe vnto Ahab, and there was a great famine in Samaria.
3 ଏଣୁ ଆହାବ ରାଜଗୃହର ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଓବଦୀୟକୁ ଡକାଇଲେ। (ସେହି ଓବଦୀୟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଅତିଶୟ ଭୟ କରିଥିଲା।
And Ahab called Obadiah the gouernour of his house: (and Obadiah feared God greatly:
4 ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁ ସମୟରେ ଈଷେବଲ୍ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ କରୁଥିଲା, ସେସମୟରେ ଓବଦୀୟ ଏକ ଶହ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ପଚାଶ ପଚାଶ ଜଣ କରି ଗହ୍ୱର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖି ଅନ୍ନ ଓ ଜଳ ଦେଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କରିଥିଲା।)
For when Iezebel destroyed the Prophets of the Lord, Obadiah tooke an hundreth Prophets, and hid them, by fiftie in a caue, and he fed them with bread and water.)
5 ପୁଣି, ଆହାବ ଓବଦୀୟକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟଦେଇ ସବୁ ଜଳ ନିର୍ଝର ଓ ସବୁ ନଦୀ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଅ; ହୋଇପାରେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅଶ୍ୱ ଓ ଖଚରମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ତୃଣ ପାଇ ପାରିବା, ତାହାହେଲେ ପଶୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ହରାଇବା ନାହିଁ।”
And Ahab saide vnto Obadiah, Goe into the land, vnto all the fountaines of water, and vnto all the riuers, if so be that we may finde grasse to saue the horses and the mules aliue, lest we depriue the lande of the beastes.
6 ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ସବୁଆଡ଼େ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଦେଶ ବିଭାଗ କଲେ; ଆହାବ ଆପେ ଏକଆଡ଼େ ଗଲେ ଓ ଓବଦୀୟ ଆପେ ଅନ୍ୟଆଡ଼େ ଗଲା।
And so they deuided the lande betweene them to walke thorowe it. Ahab went one way by him selfe, and Obadiah went another way by him selfe.
7 ଓବଦୀୟ ପଥରେ ଯାଉ ଯାଉ ଦେଖ, ଏଲୀୟ ତାହାକୁ ଭେଟିଲେ; ତହୁଁ ଓବଦୀୟ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଚିହ୍ନି ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ି କହିଲା, “ଆପଣ କʼଣ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଏଲୀୟ?”
And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Eliiah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art not thou my lord Eliiah?
8 ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ; “ହଁ, ମୁଁ; ଯାଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁକୁ କୁହ, ‘ଦେଖ, ଏଲୀୟ ଏଠାରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି।’”
And he answered him, Yea, goe tell thy lord, Behold, Eliiah is here.
9 ତହୁଁ ସେ କହିଲା, “ମୁଁ କିପରି ପାପ କରିଅଛି ଯେ, ଆପଣ ଆପଣା ଦାସଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆହାବଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି?
And he said, What haue I sinned, that thou wouldest deliuer thy seruant into the hande of Ahab, to slay me?
10 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ କହୁଅଛି, ମୋʼ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଯାହା ନିକଟକୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ନାହାନ୍ତି, ଏପରି କୌଣସି ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ କିମ୍ବା ରାଜ୍ୟ ନାହିଁ। ପୁଣି, ‘ସେ ଏଠାରେ ନାହିଁ’ ବୋଲି ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, ସେ ସେହି ରାଜ୍ୟ ଓ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀକୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ନ ଥିବା ବିଷୟରେ ଶପଥ କରାଇଲେ।
As the Lord thy God liueth, there is no nation or kingdome, whither my lorde hath not sent to seeke thee: and when they sayd, He is not here, he tooke an othe of the kingdome and nation, if they had not found thee.
11 ଏବେ ଆପଣ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ‘ଯାଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ଦେଖ, ଏଲୀୟ ଏଠାରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି।’
And now thou sayest, Goe, tell thy lorde, Beholde, Eliiah is here.
12 ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଗଲା କ୍ଷଣେ ଯେବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମା ମୋହର ଅଜ୍ଞାତ କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ନେଇଯିବେ, ତେବେ ମୁଁ ଯାଇ ଆହାବଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଲେ, ସେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ପାଇ ନ ପାରି ମୋତେ ବଧ କରିବେ; ମାତ୍ର ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ମୁଁ ବାଲ୍ୟକାଳାବଧି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କରୁଅଛି।
And when I am gone from thee, the Spirit of the Lord shall cary thee into some place that I doe not know: so when I come and tell Ahab, if he cannot finde thee, then wil he kill me: But I thy seruant feare the Lord from my youth.
13 ଈଷେବଲ୍ ଯେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରୁଥିଲା, ସେତେବେଳେ ମୁଁ ଯାହା କରିଥିଲି ଓ କିପରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏକ ଶତ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାଶ ପଚାଶ ଜଣ କରି ଗହ୍ୱରରେ ଲୁଚାଇ ରଖି ଅନ୍ନ ଓ ଜଳ ଦେଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କରିଥିଲି, ଏହା କʼଣ ଆମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଜ୍ଞାତ କରାଯାଇ ନାହିଁ?
Was it not tolde my lord, what I did when Iezebel slew the Prophets of the Lord, how I hid an hundreth men of the Lordes Prophets by fifties in a caue, and fed them with bread and water?
14 ତଥାପି ଆପଣ ଏବେ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ‘ଯାଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ଦେଖ, ଏଲୀୟ ଏଠାରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି;’ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମୋତେ ବଧ କରିବେ।”
And now thou sayest, Go, tel thy lord, Behold, Eliiah is here, that he may slay me.
15 ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଯାହାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଛିଡ଼ା ହେଉଅଛି, ସେହି ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ମୁଁ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଆଜି ତାହାକୁ ଦେଖା ଦେବି।”
And Eliiah said, As the Lord of hostes liueth, before whome I stand, I will surely shewe my selfe vnto him this day.
16 ଏଥିରେ ଓବଦୀୟ ଆହାବଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦେଲା; ତହିଁରେ ଆହାବ ଏଲୀୟ ସହିତ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ଗଲେ।
So Obadiah went to meete Ahab, and tolde him: And Ahab went to meete Eliiah.
17 ପୁଣି, ଆହାବ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିବାମାତ୍ର ଆହାବ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଦୁଃଖଦାୟକ, ଏ କʼଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ?”
And when Ahab saw Eliiah, Ahab said vnto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
18 ତହୁଁ ସେ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ଦୁଃଖ ଦେଇ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତୃବଂଶ ଦେଇଅଛ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାସକଳ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରିଅଛ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାଲ୍ ଦେବଗଣର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହୋଇଅଛ।
And he answered, I haue not troubled Israel, but thou, and thy fathers house, in that ye haue forsaken the commandements of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.
19 ଏହେତୁ ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ସମଗ୍ର ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ଓ ଈଷେବଲ୍ର ମେଜରେ ଭୋଜନକାରୀ ବାଲ୍ର ଚାରି ଶହ ପଚାଶ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆଶେରାର ଚାରି ଶହ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ କର୍ମିଲ ପର୍ବତରେ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଏକତ୍ର କର।”
Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel vnto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal foure hundreth and fiftie, and the prophets of the groues foure hundreth, which eate at Iezebels table.
20 ତହିଁରେ ଆହାବ ସମସ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇଲେ ଓ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ କର୍ମିଲ ପର୍ବତରେ ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ।
So Ahab sent vnto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together vnto mount Carmel.
21 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏଲୀୟ ସମଗ୍ର ଲୋକଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେତେ କାଳ ଦୁଇ ମତ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସନ୍ଦିଗ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ରହିବ? ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହୁଅ; ମାତ୍ର ଯେବେ ବାଲ୍, ତେବେ ତାହାର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହୁଅ।” ଏଥିରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଗୋଟିଏ କଥା ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ।
And Eliiah came vnto all the people, and said, How long halt ye betweene two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal be he, then goe after him. And the people answered him not a worde.
22 ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ, କେବଳ ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏକ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଅଛି; ମାତ୍ର ବାଲ୍ର ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଚାରି ଶହ ପଚାଶ ଜଣ ଅଛନ୍ତି।
Then said Eliiah vnto the people, I onely remayne a Prophet of the Lord: but Baals prophets are foure hundreth and fiftie men.
23 ଏହେତୁ ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୁଇ ବୃଷ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ, ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଗୋଟିଏ ବୃଷ ପସନ୍ଦ କରନ୍ତୁ ଓ ତାହା ଖଣ୍ଡ ଖଣ୍ଡ କରି କାଷ୍ଠ ଉପରେ ରଖନ୍ତୁ, ମାତ୍ର ତଳେ ଅଗ୍ନି ନ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ; ଆଉ ମୁଁ ଅନ୍ୟ ବୃଷଟିକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରି କାଷ୍ଠ ଉପରେ ରଖିବି, ମାତ୍ର ତଳେ ଅଗ୍ନି ଦେବି ନାହିଁ।
Let them therefore giue vs two bullockes, and let them chuse the one, and cut him in pieces, and lay him on the wood, but put no fire vnder, and I will prepare the other bullocke, and lay him on the wood, and will put no fire vnder.
24 ତହୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଦେବତା ନାମରେ ଡାକି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର, ପୁଣି, ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଡାକି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବି; ତହିଁରେ ଯେ ଅଗ୍ନି ଦ୍ୱାରା ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବେ, ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ହେଉନ୍ତୁ।” ଏଥିରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “ଏ କଥା ଉତ୍ତମ।”
Then call ye on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and then the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered, and sayde, It is well spoken.
25 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏଲୀୟ ବାଲ୍ର ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏକ ବୃଷ ପସନ୍ଦ କରି ପ୍ରଥମେ ତାହା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅନେକ; ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଦେବତା ନାମରେ ଡାକି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର; ମାତ୍ର ତଳେ ଅଗ୍ନି ନ ଦିଅ।”
And Eliiah said vnto the prophets of Baal, Chuse you a bullocke, and prepare him first, (for ye are many) and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire vnder.
26 ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦତ୍ତ ବୃଷ ନେଇ ତାହା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କଲେ, ପୁଣି, ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳରୁ ମଧ୍ୟାହ୍ନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ବାଲ୍ ନାମରେ ଡାକି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରି କହିଲେ, “ହେ ବାଲ୍, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣ।” ମାତ୍ର କୌଣସି ରବ ନୋହିଲା, ଅବା କେହି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲା ନାହିଁ। ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ସେହି ନିର୍ମିତ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିର ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ନାଚିଲେ।
So they tooke the one bullocke, that was giuen them, and they prepared it, and called on the name of Baal, from morning to noone, saying, O Baal, heare vs: but there was no voyce, nor any to answere: and they leapt vpon the altar that was made.
27 ଏଣୁ ମଧ୍ୟାହ୍ନ ସମୟରେ ଏଲୀୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରିହାସ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱର କରି ଡାକ; କାରଣ ସେ ତ ଦେବତା; ସେ ଧ୍ୟାନ କରୁଥିବ, ଅବା ବାହାରେ ଯାଇଥିବ, କିଅବା ଯାତ୍ରା କରୁଥିବ, ଅବା ହୋଇପାରେ ନିଦ୍ରିତ ଥିବ, ଏଣୁ ତାହାକୁ ଜଗାଇବାକୁ ହେବ।”
And at noone Eliiah mocked them, and said, Crye loude: for he is a god: either he talketh or pursueth his enemies, or is in his iourney, or it may be that he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
28 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱର କରି ଡାକିଲେ ଓ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବହାରାନୁସାରେ ଦେହରୁ ରକ୍ତ ବହିଯିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନେ ଛୁରୀ ଓ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛାରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷତବିକ୍ଷତ କଲେ।
And they cryed loude, and cut them selues as their maner was, with kniues and launcers, till the blood gushed out vpon them.
29 ପୁଣି, ମଧ୍ୟାହ୍ନ କାଳ ଗତ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେମାନେ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାକାଳୀନ ବଳିଦାନ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରଳାପୋକ୍ତି କଲେ; ମାତ୍ର କୌଣସି ରବ ନୋହିଲା, କି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବାକୁ କେହି ନ ଥିଲା, ଅବା କେହି ମନୋଯୋଗ କଲା ନାହିଁ।
And when midday was passed, and they had prophecied vntil the offring of the euening sacrifice, there was neither voyce, nor one to answere, nor any that regarded.
30 ଏଥିରେ ଏଲୀୟ ସମଗ୍ର ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋʼ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସ,” ତହୁଁ ସମଗ୍ର ଲୋକ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ତହିଁରେ ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉତ୍ପାଟିତ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦି ପୁନଃନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ।
And Eliiah said vnto all the people, Come to me. And all the people came to him. And he repayred the altar of the Lord that was broken downe.
31 ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁ ଯାକୁବ ନିକଟରେ “ତୁମ୍ଭର ନାମ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ହେବ” ବୋଲି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା, ତାହାର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀର ସଂଖ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ଏଲୀୟ ବାର ପଥର ନେଲେ।
And Eliiah tooke twelue stones, according to the nomber of the tribes of the sonnes of Iaakob, (vnto whome the worde of the Lord came, saying, Israel shalbe thy name)
32 ଆଉ ସେହି ପଥର ସବୁରେ ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଏକ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦି ନିର୍ମାଣ କରି ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିର ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ଦୁଇ ମହଣ ବିହନ ଧରୁଥିବା ଭଳି ଖାଇ ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ।
And with the stones he buylt an altar in the Name of the Lord: and he made a ditch round about the altar, as great as woulde conteine two measures of seede.
33 ତହୁଁ ସେ କାଷ୍ଠ ସଜାଇ ବୃଷକୁ ଖଣ୍ଡ ଖଣ୍ଡ କରି କାଟି କାଷ୍ଠ ଉପରେ ଥୋଇଲେ। ଆଉ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ଚାରି କଳସ ଜଳରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରି ହୋମାର୍ଥକ ବଳି ଓ କାଷ୍ଠ ଉପରେ ତାହା ଢାଳ।”
And he put the wood in order, and hewed the bullocke in pieces, and layd him on the wood,
34 ପୁଣି, ସେ କହିଲେ, “ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଥର ତାହା କର,” ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଥର ତାହା କଲେ। ଆହୁରି ସେ କହିଲେ, “ତୃତୀୟ ଥର ତାହା କର,” ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ତୃତୀୟ ଥର ତାହା କଲେ।
And said, Fill foure barrels with water, and powre it on the burnt offring and on the wood. Againe he said, Doe so againe. And they did so the second time. And he sayde, Doe it the third time. And they did it the third time.
35 ତହିଁରେ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିର ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ଜଳ ବହିଗଲା; ଏଲୀୟ ଖାଇକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଜଳରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲେ।
And the water ran round about the altar: and he filled the ditch with water also.
36 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାକାଳୀନ ବଳିଦାନ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ଏଲୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହୋଇ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ଅବ୍ରହାମର ଓ ଇସ୍ହାକର ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟ ଓ ମୁଁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେବକ ଓ ମୁଁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଏହିସବୁ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଅଛି, ଏହା ଆଜି ଜଣାଯାଉ।”
And when they should offer the euening sacrifice, Eliiah the Prophet came, and sayd, Lord God of Abraham, Izhak and of Israel, let it be knowen this day, that thou art the God of Israel, and that I am thy seruant, and that I haue done all these things at thy commandement.
37 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଫେରାଇଅଛ, ଏହା ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେପରି ଜାଣି ପାରିବେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ମୋʼ କଥା ଶୁଣ, ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ମୋʼ କଥା ଶୁଣ।
Heare me, O Lord, heare me, and let this people know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart againe at the last.
38 ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅଗ୍ନି ପତିତ ହୋଇ ହୋମାର୍ଥକ ବଳି, କାଷ୍ଠ, ପ୍ରସ୍ତରସବୁ, ଧୂଳି ଗ୍ରାସ କରି ଖାଇରେ ଥିବା ଜଳ ଚାଟି ପକାଇଲା।
Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt offring, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked vp the water that was in the ditche.
39 ଏଥିରେ ସମଗ୍ର ଲୋକ ଏହା ଦେଖି ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ପଡ଼ି କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ହିଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ହିଁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟନ୍ତି।”
And when all the people sawe it, they fell on their faces, and saide, The Lord is God, the Lord is God.
40 ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ବାଲ୍ର ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧର; ସେମାନଙ୍କର କାହାରିକୁ ପଳାଇବାକୁ ଦିଅ ନାହିଁ।” ତହିଁରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଏଲୀୟ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୀଶୋନ୍ ନଦୀ ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇ ସେଠାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ।
And Elijah said vnto them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not a man of them escape. and they tooke them, and Eliiah brought them to the brooke Kishon, and slewe them there.
41 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏଲୀୟ ଆହାବଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଉଠିଯାଇ ଭୋଜନପାନ କର; କାରଣ ଅତିଶୟ ବୃଷ୍ଟିର ଶବ୍ଦ ହେଉଅଛି।”
And Eliiah sayde vnto Ahab, Get thee vp, eate and drinke, for there is a sound of much rayne.
42 ତହୁଁ ଆହାବ ଭୋଜନପାନ କରିବାକୁ ଉଠିଗଲେ। ପୁଣି, ଏଲୀୟ କର୍ମିଲର ଶୃଙ୍ଗକୁ ଯାଇ ଭୂମିରେ ନଇଁପଡ଼ି ଆପଣା ଆଣ୍ଠୁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମୁଖ ରଖିଲେ।
So Ahab went vp to eate and to drinke, and Eliiah went vp to the top of Carmel: and he crouched vnto the earth, and put his face betweene his knees,
43 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଆପଣା ଦାସକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଉଠିଯାଇ ସମୁଦ୍ର ଆଡ଼େ ଅନାଅ।” ତହୁଁ ସେ ଉଠିଯାଇ ଅନାଇ କହିଲା, “କିଛି ନାହିଁ।” ଏଥିରେ ଏଲୀୟ କହିଲେ, “ପୁନର୍ବାର ସାତ ଥର ଯାଅ।”
And sayde to his seruant, Goe vp now and looke towarde the way of the Sea. And he went vp, and looked, and sayde, There is nothing. Againe he sayd, Goe againe seuen times.
44 ତହୁଁ ସେ ସପ୍ତମ ଥର କହିଲା, “ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ, ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ହାତ ପରି ଖଣ୍ଡେ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ମେଘ ସମୁଦ୍ରରୁ ଉଠୁଅଛି।” ଏଥିରେ ଏଲୀୟ କହିଲେ, “ଉଠିଯାଇ ଆହାବଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ବୃଷ୍ଟି ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ନ ଅଟକାଏ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ରଥ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରି ତଳକୁ ଯାଅ।”
And at the seuenth time he sayd, Behold, there ariseth a litle cloude out of the sea like a mans hand. Then he sayd, Vp, and say vnto Ahab, Make readie thy charet, and get thee downe, that the raine stay thee not.
45 ତହୁଁ ଅଳ୍ପକ୍ଷଣ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମେଘ ଓ ବାୟୁରେ ଆକାଶ କଳା ହୋଇଗଲା ଓ ମହାବୃଷ୍ଟି ହେଲା। ପୁଣି, ଆହାବ ରଥରେ ଚଢ଼ି ଯିଷ୍ରିୟେଲକୁ ଗଲେ।
And in the meane while the heauen was blacke with cloudes and winde, and there was a great rayne. Then Ahab went vp and came to Izreel.
46 ଏଥିରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଅବସ୍ଥାନ କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଆପଣା କଟି ବାନ୍ଧି ଯିଷ୍ରିୟେଲର ପ୍ରବେଶ ସ୍ଥାନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆହାବଙ୍କର ଆଗେ ଆଗେ ଦୌଡ଼ି ଗଲେ।
And the hand of the Lord was on Eliiah, and he girded vp his Ioynes, and ran before Ahab till he came to Izreel.
