୧ ଯୋହନ 3
1 ଦେଖ, ପିତା ଈଶ୍ବର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କି ପ୍ରକାର ପ୍ରେମ ଦାନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ ବୋଲି ଖ୍ୟାତ ହେବୁ, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହା ହିଁ ଅଟୁ। ଏଥିସକାଶେ ଜଗତ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଚିହ୍ନୁ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ତାହା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଚିହ୍ନି ନ ଥିଲା।
Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
2 ହେ ପ୍ରିୟମାନେ, ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ ଅଟୁ, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଅଣ ହେବା, ତାହା ଏପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ। ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ, ସେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେବେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସଦୃଶ ହେବା, କାରଣ ସେ ଯେପରି, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେହିପରି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦର୍ଶନ କରିବା।
Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.
3 ଆଉ ଯେ କେହି ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ଏହି ଭରସା ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିଅଛି, ସେ ଯେପରି ପବିତ୍ର ଅଟନ୍ତି, ସେ ସେହିପରି ଆପଣାକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କରେ।
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.
4 ଯେ କେହି ପାପ କରେ, ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଲଙ୍ଘନ କରେ, କାରଣ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଲଙ୍ଘନ ହିଁ ପାପ।
Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness.
5 ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣ ଯେ, ସେ ପାପ ବୋହିନେଇଯିବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେଲେ, ଆଉ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ପାପ ନାହିଁ।
But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.
6 ଯେ କେହି ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ରହେ, ସେ ପାପ କରେ ନାହିଁ; ଯେ କେହି ପାପ କରେ, ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜାଣି ନାହିଁ।
No one who remains in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has seen Him or known Him.
7 ହେ ବତ୍ସଗଣ, କେହି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ ନ କରୁ; ଯେ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରେ, ସେ ଯେପରି ଧାର୍ମିକ ଅଟନ୍ତି, ସେ ସେହିପରି ଧାର୍ମିକ ଅଟେ;
Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous.
8 ଯେ ପାପ କରେ, ସେ ଶୟତାନରୁ ଜାତ, କାରଣ ଶୟତାନ ଆରମ୍ଭରୁ ପାପ କରିଆସୁଅଛି। ଶୟତାନର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ହିଁ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହେଲେ।
The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
9 ଯେ କେହି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଜାତ, ସେ ପାପ କରେ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବୀଜ ତାହାଠାରେ ରହେ, ଆଉ ସେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଜାତ ହେବାରୁ ପାପ କରିପାରେ ନାହିଁ।
Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
10 ଏଥିରେ କିଏ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ ଓ କିଏ ଶୟତାନର ସନ୍ତାନ, ଏହା ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହୁଏ; ଯେ କେହି ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରେ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ଆପଣା ଭାଇକୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରେ ନାହିଁ, ସେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଜାତ ନୁହେଁ।
By this the children of God are distinguished from the children of the devil: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
11 କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଯେ ପରସ୍ପରକୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରିବା କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ, ଏହି ବାଣୀ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆଦ୍ୟରୁ ଶୁଣିଅଛ;
This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
12 ପାପାତ୍ମାର ସନ୍ତାନ ଯେ କୟିନ, ତାହା ପରି ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ, ସେ ଆପଣା ଭାଇକୁ ବଧ କଲା; ଆଉ ସେ ତାହାକୁ କାହିଁକି ବଧ କଲା? କାରଣ ଏହି ଯେ, ତାହାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପାପମୟ, ଆଉ ତାହାର ଭାଇର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଧର୍ମମୟ ଥିଲା।
Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did Cain slay him? Because his own deeds were evil, while those of his brother were righteous.
13 ହେ ଭାଇମାନେ, ଜଗତ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘୃଣା କଲେ, ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟଜ୍ଞାନ କର ନାହିଁ।
So do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
14 ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁକୁ ଅତିକ୍ରମ କରି ଜୀବନରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିଅଛୁ, ଯେଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରୁଅଛୁ। ଯେ ପ୍ରେମ କରେ ନାହିଁ, ସେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ଅଧୀନରେ ଥାଏ।
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.
15 ଯେ କେହି ଆପଣା ଭାଇକୁ ଘୃଣା କରେ, ସେ ନରଘାତକ; ଆଉ ନରଘାତକଠାରେ ଯେ ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ନ ଥାଏ, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣ। (aiōnios g166)
Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer. (aiōnios g166)
16 ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ଦାନ କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରେମର ପରିଚୟ ପାଇଅଛୁ; ପୁଣି, ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣ ଦାନ କରିବା ଉଚିତ।
By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
17 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେ ସଂସାର ଅନୁସାରେ ଧନଶାଳୀ ହୋଇ ଆପଣା ଭାଇକୁ ଅଭାବଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଦେଖିଲେ ହେଁ ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ଆପଣା ଦୟା ରୁଦ୍ଧ କରେ, ତାହାଠାରେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରେମ କିପରି ରହିପାରେ?
If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?
18 ହେ ବତ୍ସଗଣ, ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବାକ୍ୟରେ କି ଜିହ୍ୱାରେ ପ୍ରେମ ନ କରି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ଓ ସତ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରେମ କରୁ।
Little children, let us love not in word and speech, but in action and truth.
19 ତାହା କଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେ ସତ୍ୟର ସନ୍ତାନ, ଏହା ଜାଣିବା,
And by this we will know that we belong to the truth, and will assure our hearts in His presence:
20 ପୁଣି, ଯେକୌଣସି ବିଷୟରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୋଷୀ କରେ, ସେ ବିଷୟରେ ତଦ୍ୱାରା ତାହାଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ହୃଦୟ ସୁସ୍ଥିର କରିପାରିବା; କାରଣ ଈଶ୍ବର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟଠାରୁ ମହାନ ଓ ସେ ସବୁ ଜାଣନ୍ତି।
Even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.
21 ହେ ପ୍ରିୟମାନେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୋଷୀ ନ କରେ, ତାହାହେଲେ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସାହସ ଅଛି,
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God,
22 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାହା ଯାହା ମାଗୁ, ସେହିସବୁ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପାଇଥାଉ, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞା ପାଳନ କରୁ, ପୁଣି, ତାହାଙ୍କର ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯାହା ସନ୍ତୋଷଜନକ, ତାହା କରିଥାଉ।
and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.
23 ତାହାଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞା ଏହି ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିବା ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦତ୍ତ ଆଜ୍ଞାନୁସାରେ ପରସ୍ପରକୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରିବା।
And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another just as He commanded us.
24 ଯେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞା ପାଳନ କରେ, ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ରହେ ଓ ସେ ତାହାଠାରେ ରହନ୍ତି; ଆଉ ସେ ଯେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ରହନ୍ତି, ଏହା ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଦତ୍ତ ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଜାଣୁଅଛୁ।
Whoever keeps His commandments remains in God, and God in him. And by this we know that He remains in us: by the Spirit He has given us.
