ପ୍ରଥମ ବଂଶାବଳୀ 19
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ରାଜା ନାହଶ୍ ମରନ୍ତେ, ତାହାର ପୁତ୍ର ତାହାର ପଦରେ ରାଜା ହେଲା।
And it comes to pass after this, that Nahash king of the sons of Ammon dies, and his son reigns in his stead,
2 ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ନାହଶର ପୁତ୍ର ହାନୂନ୍ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବି, କାରଣ, ତାହାର ପିତା ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଥିଲା।” ତେଣୁ, ଦାଉଦ ତାହାକୁ ପିତୃଶୋକରୁ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦୂତମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଲେ। ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଦାସମାନେ ହାନୂନ୍କୁ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଦେଶରେ ତାହା ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ।
and David says, “I do kindness with Hanun son of Nahash, for his father did kindness with me”; and David sends messengers to comfort him concerning his father. And the servants of David come to the land of the sons of Ammon, to Hanun, to comfort him,
3 ମାତ୍ର ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଅଧିପତିମାନେ ହାନୂନ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦାଉଦ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ସାନ୍ତ୍ୱନାକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଅଛି ବୋଲି ସେ ଯେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପିତାର ସମ୍ଭ୍ରମ କରୁଅଛି, ଏହା କʼଣ ଆପଣ ବିଚାର କରନ୍ତି? ତାହାର ଦାସମାନେ କʼଣ ଦେଶ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରିବାକୁ ଓ ନାଶ କରିବାକୁ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ନାହାନ୍ତି?”
and the heads of the sons of Ammon say to Hanun, “Is David honoring your father in your eyes because he has sent comforters to you? Have his servants not come to you in order to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?”
4 ତହିଁରେ ହାନୂନ୍ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷୌର କଲା ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପିଚା ପାଖ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ମଝିରୁ କାଟି ପକାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଦାୟ କରିଦେଲା।
And Hanun takes the servants of David and shaves them, and cuts their long robes in the midst, to the buttocks, and sends them away.
5 ଏଥିରେ ସେହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଯେପ୍ରକାର ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଗଲା, ତାହା କେହି ଯାଇ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାନ୍ତେ, ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିବା ପାଇଁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇଲେ; କାରଣ, ସେମାନେ ଅତିଶୟ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ଥିଲେ। ପୁଣି, ରାଜା କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦାଢ଼ି ବଢ଼ିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯିରୀହୋରେ ଥାଅ, ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଫେରି ଆସ।”
And [some] go and declare to David concerning the men, and he sends to meet them—for the men have been greatly ashamed—and the king says, “Dwell in Jericho until your beard is grown, then you have returned.”
6 ଏଥିରେ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଦୁର୍ଗନ୍ଧ ସ୍ୱରୂପ କରିଥିବାର ଦେଖନ୍ତେ, ହାନୂନ୍ ଓ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଅରାମନହରୟିମ୍ ଓ ଅରାମ-ମାଖା ଓ ସୋବାରୁ ରଥ ଓ ଅଶ୍ୱାରୋହୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବେତନ ଦେଇ ଆଣିବା ପାଇଁ ଏକ ସହସ୍ର ତାଳନ୍ତ ରୂପା ପଠାଇଲେ।
And the sons of Ammon see that they have made themselves abhorred by David, and Hanun and the sons of Ammon send one thousand talents of silver, to hire for themselves, from Aram-Naharaim, and from Aram-Maachah, and from Zobah, chariots and horsemen;
7 ତହୁଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ବତିଶ ହଜାର ରଥ ଓ ମାଖାର ରାଜାକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବେତନ ଦେଇ ଆଣିଲେ; ଏମାନେ ଆସି ମେଦବା ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ। ପୁଣି, ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ନଗରରୁ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହୋଇ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ; ଆସିଲେ।
and they hire for themselves thirty-two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people, and they come in and encamp before Medeba, and the sons of Ammon have been gathered out of their cities, and come to the battle.
8 ଆଉ, ଦାଉଦ ଏହା ଶୁଣି ଯୋୟାବକୁ ଓ ବୀର ସୈନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଲେ।
And David hears, and sends Joab, and all the host of the mighty men,
9 ତହିଁରେ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଆସି ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାର ନିକଟରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସାଜିଲେ; ଆଉ ଯେଉଁ ରାଜାମାନେ ଆସିଥିଲେ, ସେମାନେ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଅଲଗା ରହିଲେ।
and the sons of Ammon come out and set in array [for] battle at the opening of the city, and the kings who have come [are] by themselves in the field.
10 ଏହିରୂପେ ଯୋୟାବ ଆପଣା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆଗେ ଓ ପଛେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସଜ୍ଜିତ ହେବାର ଦେଖି ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସମୁଦାୟ ବଛା ଲୋକ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଲୋକ ବାଛି ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସୈନ୍ୟ ସଜାଇଲା।
And Joab sees that the front of the battle has been to him, before and behind, and he chooses out of all the choice in Israel, and sets in array to meet Aram,
11 ଆଉ, ସେ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ଭ୍ରାତା ଅବୀଶୟ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲା; ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯୁଦ୍ଧାର୍ଥେ ସଜାଇଲେ।
and he has given the remnant of the people into the hand of his brother Abishai, and they set in array to meet the sons of Ammon.
12 ପୁଣି, ସେ କହିଲା, “ଯଦି ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ ମୋ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରବଳ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋହର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିବ; ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରବଳ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିବି।
And he says, “If Aram is stronger than me, then you have been for salvation to me; and if the sons of Ammon are stronger than you, then I have saved you;
13 ବଳବାନ ହୁଅ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନଗରସମୂହ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଳବାନ କରୁ; ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯାହା ଭଲ, ସେ ତାହା କରନ୍ତୁ।”
be strong, and we strengthen ourselves, for our people, and for the cities of our God, and YHWH does that which is good in His eyes.”
14 ତହିଁରେ ଯୋୟାବ ଓ ତାହାର ସଙ୍ଗୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ତାହା ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ପଳାଇଲେ।
And Joab draws near, and the people who [are] with him, before Aram to battle, and they flee from his face;
15 ଏଥିରେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଳାଇବାର ଦେଖି ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାର ଭ୍ରାତା ଅବୀଶୟ ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ପଳାଇ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କଲେ; ତହୁଁ ଯୋୟାବ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଆସିଲା।
and the sons of Ammon have seen that Aram has fled, and they flee—they also—from the face of his brother Abishai, and go into the city. And Joab comes to Jerusalem.
16 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ ଦେଖି ଦୂତ ପଠାଇ ନଦୀ ସେପାରିସ୍ଥ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଲେ। ହଦଦେଷରର ସେନାପତି ଶୋଫକ୍ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଅଗ୍ରଣୀ ଥିଲା।
And Aram sees that they have been struck before Israel, and send messengers, and bring out Aram that [is] beyond the River, and Shophach head of the host of Hadarezer [is] before them.
17 ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଏହା ଜ୍ଞାତ କରାଯାʼନ୍ତେ, ସେ ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରି ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହେଲେ, ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସଜାଇଲେ। ତହିଁରେ ଦାଉଦ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସଜାନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କଲେ।
And it is declared to David, and he gathers all Israel, and passes over the Jordan, and comes to them, and sets in array against them; indeed, David sets in array [for] battle to meet Aram, and they fight with him;
18 ମାତ୍ର, ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସମ୍ମୁଖରୁ ପଳାଇଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଦାଉଦ ଅରାମୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ସାତ ସହସ୍ର ରଥାରୂଢ଼ ଓ ଚାଳିଶ ହଜାର ପଦାତିକ ସୈନ୍ୟ ବଧ କଲେ ଓ ସେନାପତି ଶୋଫକ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ।
and Aram flees from the face of Israel, and David slays seven thousand charioteers and forty thousand footmen of Aram, and he has put Shophach head of the host to death.
19 ତହୁଁ ହଦଦେଷରର ଦାସମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ ଦେଖି ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ସନ୍ଧି କରି ତାଙ୍କର ଦାସ ହେଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଅରାମୀୟମାନେ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିବାକୁ ଆଉ ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ ନାହିଁ।
And the servants of Hadarezer see that they have been struck before Israel, and they make peace with David and serve him, and Aram has not been willing to help the sons of Ammon anymore.
