Sakarias 6
1 Då eg atter lyfte upp augo mine, fekk eg sjå fire vogner som kom fram millom tvo fjell, og fjelli var av kopar.
Again I looked up, and saw four chariots come from between two mountains. The mountains were mountains of bronze.
2 For den fyrste vogni var det raude hestar, for den andre vogni svarte hestar,
The first chariot had red horses. The second chariot had black horses,
3 for den tridje vogni kvite hestar, og for den fjorde vogni var det flekkute sterke hestar.
the third chariot white horses, and the fourth chariot dappled horses.
4 Då tok eg til ords og sagde til engelen som tala med meg: «Kva skal dette tyda, Herre?»
Then I said to the messenger who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?”
5 Og engelen svara og sagde til meg: «Det er dei fire himmelvindarne. Dei hev vore kalla inn for Herren yver all jordi og fer no av stad att.
The messenger answered me, “These are the four winds of heaven going out after standing before the Lord of all the earth.
6 Vogni med dei svarte hestarne fer ut mot Norderlandet, dei kvite fylgjer etter deim, og dei flekkute fer utimot Sudlandet.»
The black horses are going toward the north country and the white toward the west and the dappled toward the south country.”
7 Men då dei sterkaste skulde fara ut, var dei fysne etter å få fara ikring på jordi, og han sagde: «Gakk, far ikring på jordi!» Og dei for ikring på jordi.
The strong horses came out, and were impatient to patrol the earth. So he said, “Go, patrol the earth,” and they did so.
8 So ropa han høgt på meg og sagde til meg: «Sjå, dei som fer ut imot Norderlandet, hev svala min harm på Norderlandet.»
Then he cried out to me, “The horses that went to the north country will quiet my spirit in the north country.”
9 Og Herrens ord kom til meg soleis:
Now this message of the Lord came to me:
10 Tak imot av Heldai, Tobia og Jedaja gåvorne frå dei landlyste, ja, gakk sjølv på denne dagen av stad til huset åt Josias Sefanjason; for dit er dei komne frå Babel,
Take the gifts from the exiles Heldai, Tobijah and Jedaiah who have come from Babylon and go at once to Josiah the son of Zephaniah.
11 og tak imot sylv og gull! Få so gjort ei kruna og set henne på hovudet åt øvstepresten Josva Jesadaksson!
Take their silver and gold and make a crown and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak.
12 Og seg til honom: «So segjer Herren, allhers drott: Sjå der er ein mann som heiter Renning. Frå roti si skal han renna upp, og han skal byggja Herrens tempel.
Tell him: “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, the man whose name is the Branch. He will branch out from his place and rebuild the temple of the Lord.
13 Ja, han skal byggja Herrens tempel, og han skal vinna herlegdom og sitja og styra på kongsstolen sin, og han skal vera prest på kongsstolen sin, og freds samråd skal det vera millom deim båe.
He will rebuild the temple and will sit and rule upon his throne, receiving the honor due to a king. A priest will stand by his throne and they will work together in peace and harmony.
14 Men kruna skal vera i Herrens tempel til minne um Helem, Tobia og Jedaja og Hen Sefanjason.
The crown will be a memorial in the temple of the Lord for Heldai and Tobijah and Jedaiah, and Josiah the son of Zephaniah.
15 Og langt burtanfrå skal dei koma og byggja på Herrens tempel, og de skal få kjenna at Herren, allhers drott, hev sendt meg til dykk. Og dette skal henda dersom de høyrer vel på røysti åt Herren, dykkar Gud.»
People from far away will come and build in the temple of the Lord and you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. This will happen if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.”
