Salmenes 82

1 Ein salme av Asaf. Gud stend i Guds samling; midt imillom gudar held han dom:

A Psalme committed to Aspah. God standeth in the assemblie of gods: hee iudgeth among gods.

2 «Kor lenge vil de døma rangt og halda med dei ugudlege? (Sela)

How long wil ye iudge vniustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? (Selah)

3 Døm den ringe og farlause! Lat armingen og den fatige få sin rett!

Doe right to the poore and fatherlesse: doe iustice to the poore and needie.

4 Berga den ringe og fatige, frels han frå handi åt dei ugudlege!

Deliuer the poore and needie: saue them from the hand of the wicked.

5 Dei veit inkje og skynar inkje, dei ferdast i myrker; alle grunnvollar til jordi ruggar.

They knowe not and vnderstand nothing: they walke in darkenes, albeit all the foundations of the earth be mooued.

6 Eg hev sagt: «De er gudar, søner til den Høgste er de alle.»

I haue said, Ye are gods, and ye all are children of the most High.

7 Men sanneleg, som menneskje skal de døy, og som ein av hovdingarne skal de falla.»

But ye shall die as a man, and yee princes, shall fall like others.

8 Statt upp, Gud, haldt dom yver jordi! For du eig alle heidningar.

O God, arise, therefore iudge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherite all nations.
