Salmenes 50
1 Ein salme av Asaf. Gud, Gud Herren talar og kallar på jordi frå solekoma til soleglad.
A psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, has spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 Frå Sion, fagerleiks kruna, strålar Gud fram.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone.
3 Vår Gud kjem og skal ikkje tegja. For hans åsyn gjeng etande eld, og ikring honom stormar det sterkt.
Our God comes and does not stay silent; a fire devours before him, and it is very stormy around him.
4 Han kallar på himmelen ovantil og på jordi til å døma sitt folk.
He calls to the heavens above and to the earth so that he may judge his people:
5 «Samla til meg mine trugne, som hev gjort pakt med meg um offer!»
“Gather my faithful ones together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
6 Og himlarne forkynner hans rettferd; for Gud er den som skal halda dom. (Sela)
The heavens will declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. (Selah)
7 «Høyr, mitt folk, eg vil tala; Israel, eg vil vitna imot deg; Gud, din Gud er eg.
“Hear, my people, and I will speak; I am God, your God.
8 Ikkje for dine offer vil eg lasta deg; dine brennoffer er alltid framfyre meg.
I will not reprove you for your sacrifices; your burnt offerings are always before me.
9 Eg vil ikkje taka uksar frå ditt hus eller bukkar frå dine grindar.
I will take no bull out of your house, or male goats out of your folds.
10 For meg høyrer alle dyr i skogen til, fe på fjelli i tusundtal.
For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 Eg kjenner alle fuglar på fjelli, og det som rører seg på marki, er meg for augo.
I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12 Um eg var hungrig, vilde eg ikkje segja det til deg; for meg høyrer jordriket til med alt det som fyller det.
If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is mine, and everything in it.
13 Skulde eg eta kjøt av stutar og drikka blod av bukkar?
Will I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 Ofra lov og takk til Gud og gjev den Høgste det du hev lova,
Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High.
15 og kalla på meg den dag du er i naud, so vil eg frelsa deg ut, og du skal prisa meg.»
Call on me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will glorify me.”
16 Men til den ugudlege segjer Gud: «Kva hev du med å fortelja um mine lover og taka mi pakt i din munn,
But to the wicked God says, “What have you to do with declaring my statutes, that you have taken my covenant in your mouth,
17 etter di du hatar tukt og kastar mine ord attum deg?
since you hate instruction and throw my words away?
18 Når du ser ein tjuv, er du gjerne med honom, og med horkarar er du i lag.
When you see a thief, you agree with him; you participate with those who commit adultery.
19 Din munn slepper du laus til vondt, og di tunga spinn i hop svik.
You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue expresses deceit.
20 Du sit og talar imot bror din, set ein skamflekk på son til mor di.
You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
21 Dette gjorde du, og eg tagde; so tenkte du eg var liksom du sjølv; men eg vil yvertyda deg og leggja det fram for deg.
You have done these things, but I have kept silent, so you thought that I was someone just like yourself. But I will reprove you and bring up, right before your eyes, all the things you have done.
22 Gjev gaum etter dette, de som gløymer Gud, so eg ikkje skal riva burt, og ingen frelser.
Give this careful consideration, you who forget God, otherwise I will tear you to pieces, and there will be no one to come to help you!
23 Den som ofrar meg takk, han ærar meg, og den som gjeng den rette veg, honom vil eg lata sjå Guds frelsa!»
The one who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving praises me, and to anyone who plans his path in the right way I will show God's salvation.”
