1 Av David, ein salme. Jordi høyrer Herren til - og alt det som fyller henne, jordriket og dei som bur i det.

A PSALM OF DAVID. To YHWH [is] the earth and its fullness, The world and the inhabitants in it.

2 For han hev grunnlagt henne på havi og grunnfest henne på strøymande vatn.

For He has founded it on the seas, And He establishes it on the floods.

3 Kven skal stiga upp på Herrens fjell, og kven skal standa på hans heilage stad?

Who goes up into the hill of YHWH? And who rises up in His holy place?

4 Den som hev skuldlause hender og reint hjarta, som ikkje hev vendt sin hug til lygn og ikkje svore med svik.

The clean of hands, and pure of heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, Nor has sworn to deceit.

5 Han skal bera velsigning med frå Herren og rettferd frå Gud, sin frelsar.

He carries away a blessing from YHWH, Righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 Dette er deira ætt som spør etter honom, dei som søkjer di åsyn, Jakobs born. (Sela)

This [is] a generation of those seeking Him. Seeking Your face, O Jacob! (Selah)

7 De portar, lyft upp dykkar hovud! ja lyft dykk upp, de ævelege dører, so kongen den herlege kann koma inn!

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O perpetual doors! And the King of Glory comes in!

8 Kven er kongen den herlege? Herren sterk og veldug, Herren veldug i strid.

Who [is] this—“the King of Glory?” YHWH—strong and mighty, YHWH, the mighty in battle.

9 De portar, lyft upp dykkar hovud! ja lyft dykk upp, de ævelege dører, so kongen den herlege kann koma inn!

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O perpetual doors! And the King of Glory comes in!

10 Kven er då kongen den herlege? Herren, allhers drott; han er kongen den herlege. (Sela)

Who [is] He—this “King of Glory?” YHWH of hosts—He [is] the King of Glory! (Selah)
