1 Halleluja! Syng Herren ein ny song, hans lov i samlingi av dei gudlege!

Praise ye Yah, Sing to Yahweh a song that is new, his praise in the convocation of the men of lovingkindness.

2 Israel glede seg i sin skapar, Sions søner frygde seg for sin konge!

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him, Let the sons of Zion exult in their king;

3 Dei skal lova hans namn med dans, syngja for honom til pauka og cither.

Let them praise his Name in the dance, with timbrel and lyre, Let them make music to him.

4 For Herren hev hugnad i sitt folk, han pryder spaklyndte med frelsa.

For Yahweh is taking pleasure in his people, He will beautify humbled ones with victory.

5 Dei gudlege frygdar seg i herlegdom, dei ropar av fagnad på sine lægje.

Let the men of lovingkindness exult as they glory, Let them shout aloud upon their beds:

6 Lovsong for Gud er i deira munn, og eit tvieggja sverd i deira hand,

The high songs of GOD be in their throat, and a two-edged sword in their hand:

7 til å fullføra hemn yver heidningarne, refsing yver folkeslagi,

To execute an avenging among the nations, rebukes among the peoples:

8 til å binda deira kongar med lekkjor og deira storfolk med jarnband,

To bind their kings with fetters, and their honoured ones with iron bands:

9 til å fullføra fyreskriven dom yver deim. Æra er dette for alle hans trugne. Halleluja!

To execute upon them the sentence written, An honour, shall it be to all his men of lovingkindness. Praise ye Yah!
