1 Ein lovsong av David. Eg vil upphøgja deg, min Gud, du konge, og eg vil lova namnet ditt æveleg og alltid.
A psalm of David. A song of praise. I will glorify you, my God and King! I will praise who you are forever and ever!
2 Kvar dag vil eg lova deg, og eg vil prisa namnet ditt æveleg og alltid.
I will praise you every day; I will praise your character forever and ever!
3 Stor er Herren og mykje lovsungen, og hans storleik er uransakleg.
The Lord is great and deserves much praise! His greatness cannot be measured!
4 Ei ætt skal lova dine verk for ei onnor, og dine storverk skal dei forkynna.
Let every generation tell the next all that you do, sharing the stories of your amazing miracles!
5 Di høge og herlege æra og dine underverk vil eg grunda på.
They will speak of your majesty, your glorious splendor, and I will meditate on the wonderful things you have done.
6 Um dine sterke, skræmelege gjerningar skal dei tala, og dine storverk vil eg fortelja um.
They will speak of the power of your awesome actions, and I will say how wonderful you are.
7 Minne-ord um din store godleik skal dei lata strøyma ut, og di rettferd skal dei lovsyngja.
They will explain to everyone how famous you are for your tremendous goodness, and joyfully celebrate how you always do what is right.
8 Nådig og miskunnsam er Herren, langmodig og stor i miskunn.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, not easily angered, and full of trustworthy love.
9 Herren er god imot alle, og han miskunnar alle sine verk.
The Lord is good to everyone, and he shows mercy to all his created beings.
10 Alle dine verk skal prisa deg, Herre, og dine trugne lova deg.
All the created beings will thank you, Lord, and all who faithfully follow you will praise you.
11 Um herlegdomen i ditt rike skal dei tala, og ditt velde skal dei forkynna,
They will praise the glory of your kingdom, and talk about your power.
12 til å kunngjera dine velduge verk for menneskjeborni, og den strålande herlegdom i ditt rike.
They will explain to people your wonderful miracles, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Ditt rike er eit rike for alle ævor, og ditt herredøme varer gjenom alle ætter.
Your kingdom never ends, and your rule continues for all generations. What the Lord promises can always be trusted; he is merciful in all he does.
14 Herren er stydjar alle som fell, og han reiser alle som er nedbøygde.
The Lord helps up all those who fall down; he lifts up all those who are bowed down.
15 Alle vender augo sine ventande til deg, og du gjev deim deira føda i si tid.
All eyes are on you, waiting in hope, and you give food at just the right time.

You give generously and satisfy the needs of every living thing.

The Lord does right in everything—his actions are always trustworthy.
18 Herren er nær hjå alle deim som kallar på honom, alle som kallar på honom i sanning.
The Lord is close to all who ask for his help, to all who ask in sincerity.

He satisfies the needs of those who follow him. He hears their cries for help and he saves them.

The Lord takes care of all those who love him, but he will destroy all those who are wicked.

I will speak in praise of the Lord, and may everyone honor his holy character, forever and ever.
