1 Halleluja! Lova, de Herrens tenarar, lova Herrens namn!

Praise ye Jehovah. Praise, O ye servants of Jehovah, Praise the name of Jehovah.

2 Herrens namn vere lova frå no og til æveleg tid!

Blessed be the name of Jehovah From this time forth and for evermore.

3 Frå solekoma og til soleglad er Herrens namn høglova.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same Jehovah’s name is to be praised.

4 Høg yver alle heidningar er Herren, yver himmelen er hans æra.

Jehovah is high above all nations, And his glory above the heavens.

5 Kven er som Herren, vår Gud? han som sit so høgt,

Who is like unto Jehovah our God, That hath his seat on high,

6 han som ser so djupt i himmelen og på jordi,

That humbleth himself to behold [The things that are] in heaven and in the earth?

7 han som reiser den ringe or moldi og lyfter den fatige or skarnet

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth up the needy from the dunghill;

8 til å setja honom hjå hovdingar, hjå sitt folks hovdingar;

That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.

9 han som let ufruktsame bu heime som ei glad barnemor. Halleluja!

He maketh the barren woman to keep house, [And to be] a joyful mother of children. Praise ye Jehovah.
