1 Ein lovsalme. Ropa med frygd for Herren, all jordi!

Everyone in the world should shout joyfully to Yahweh!

2 Ten Herren med gleda, kom fram for hans åsyn med fagnad!

We should worship Yahweh gladly! We should come before him singing joyful songs.

3 Vit at Herren er Gud, han hev skapt oss, og ikkje me, til sitt folk og til den hjord han føder.

We should acknowledge/recognize that Yahweh is God; it is he who made us, [so] we belong to him. We are the people that he takes care of [MET]; we are [like] sheep that are cared for by their shepherd.

4 Kom inn i hans portar med takk, i hans fyregardar med lov, prisa honom, lova hans namn!

Enter the gates [of his temple] thanking him; enter the courtyard [of the temple] singing songs to praise him! Thank him and praise him,

5 For Herren er god, hans miskunn varer æveleg, og hans truskap frå ætt til ætt.

because Yahweh always [does] good [things for us]. He faithfully loves us, and (is faithful/is loyal to us forever/will never forsake us).
