Matteus 23
1 Sidan tala Jesus til folket og til læresveinarne sine og sagde:
Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to the disciples of Him
2 «På Moses’ stol sit dei skriftlærde og farisæarane.
saying; On Moses’ seat sat down the scribes and the Pharisees;
3 Alt det dei segjer til dykk, lyt de gjera og halda, men etter gjerningarne deira skal de ikkje fara! For dei segjer det, men dei gjer det ikkje.
All things therefore as much as (if *N(k)O*) they shall tell you (to keep *K*) (do perform *N(k)O*) and do observe. After however the works of them not do perform; They speak for and not act.
4 Dei bind i hop tunge byrder og legg på herdarne åt folk, men sjølve vil dei ikkje leda deim med ein finger.
They tie up (now *N(k)O*) burdens heavy and hard to bear and lay [them] on the shoulders of men; themselves however with the finger of them not are they willing to move them.
5 Alt det dei gjer, gjer dei so folk skal sjå kor gjæve dei er. Dei gjer sine bøneband breide og duskarne på kjolen sin store.
All now the deeds of them they do in order to be seen by men; They broaden (for *N(k)O*) the phylacteries of them and enlarge tassels (the *k*) (of garments of them. *K*)
6 Dei trår etter dei høgste sæti i gjestebodi og dei fremste sessarne i synagogorne,
They love (now *N(k)O*) the chief place at the banquets and the first seats in the synagogues
7 og vil at folk skal helsa deim på torget og kalla dei rabbi.
and the greetings in the marketplaces and to be called by men Rabbi (Rabbi. *K*)
8 Men de skal ikkje lata nokon kalla dykk rabbi; for det er ein som er meisteren dykkar, og de er alle brør.
you yourselves however not may be called Rabbi; One for is of you the (Teacher *N(k)O*) (Christ *K*) all now you yourselves brothers are.
9 Og far skal de ikkje kalla nokon på jordi; for de hev ein far, han i himmelen.
And father no [one] may call of you on the earth; One for is of you the Father who [is] (in heaven. *N(k)O*)
10 Ikkje skal de heller lata nokon kalla dykk lærar; for de hev ein lærar, Kristus.
Neither may be called instructors, (since *N(k)O*) (the *k*) instructor of you is One the Christ.
11 Den største av dykk skal vera den som tener dei andre.
And the greatest among you will be your servant.
12 For den som gjer seg sjølv stor, han skal gjerast liten, og den som gjer seg sjølv liten, han skal gjerast stor.
He who then will exalt himself will be humbled, and whoever will humble himself will be exalted.
13 Men ve yver dykk skriftlærde og farisæarar, hyklarar som de er! de stengjer himmelriket for folk; sjølve gjeng de ikkje inn, og deim som gjerne vilde, let de ikkje få koma inn.
Woe (however *no*) to you, scribes and Pharisees hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; You yourselves for neither enter nor even those entering do you allow to go in.
14 Ve yver dykk skriftlærde og farisæarar, hyklarar som de er! de et upp husi for enkjor og gjer lange bøner for ei syn skuld; for dette skal de få strengare dom.
(woe to you scribes and Pharisees hypocrites for you devour houses widows and as a pretext long praying; through this you will receive more excessive judgment. *K*)
15 Ve yver dykk skriftlærde og farisæarar, hyklarar som de er! de fer land og strand og leitar etter ein fylgjesvein, og finn de ein, so gjer de honom til eit helvitesbarn, tvo gonger verre enn de er sjølve. (Geenna g1067)
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees hypocrites! For you traverse the sea and the dry [land] to make one convert, and when he may become [so], you make him a son of hell twofold more than yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
16 Ve yver dykk, blinde vegleidarar! de som segjer: «Um ein sver ved templet, so er det’kje noko, men sver han ved gullet i templet, då er han bunden.»
Woe to you, guides blind you who [are] saying; Who[ever] maybe may swear by the temple, no [thing] it is; who[ever] however maybe may swear by the gold of the temple is bound.
17 Dårar og blinde! Kva er størst, gullet, eller templet som gav gullet si vigsla?
Foolish and blind! Which for greater is, the gold or the temple which (is sanctifying *N(k)O*) the gold?
18 og: «Um ein sver ved altaret, so er det’kje noko, men sver han ved offeret som er på det, då er han bunden.»
And [you say] Who[ever] (maybe *N(k)O*) shall swear by the altar, no [thing] it is; who[ever] however maybe shall swear by the gift that [is] upon it, is bound.
19 Blindingar! Kva er då størst, offeret, eller altaret som vigslar offeret?
(foolish and *K*) You blind men! Which for [is] greater, the gift or the altar which is sanctifying the gift?
20 For den som då sver ved altaret, sver både ved det og alt som er på det;
The [one] therefore having sworn by the altar swears by it and by all things that [are] upon it,
21 og den som sver ved templet, sver både ved det og ved honom som bur i det;
And the [one] having sworn by the temple swears by it and by the [One] (dwelling *NK(o)*) in it,
22 og den som sver ved himmelen, sver ved Guds høgsæte og ved honom som sit der.
And the [one] having sworn by heaven swears by the throne of God and by the [One] sitting upon it.
23 Ve yver dykk skriftlærde og farisæarar, hyklarar som de er! de gjev tiend av mynta og anis og karve, men ansar ikkje det som veg meir i lovi, rettferd og miskunn og truskap. Det skulde ein gjera, og ikkje lata vera hitt heller.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cumin and you have neglected the weightier [matters] of the law, justice and (mercy *N(k)O*) and faithfulness; These (now *no*) it was necessary to do those those not (to be leaving aside. *NK(o)*)
24 Blinde vegleidarar, som silar av myhanken, men svelgjer kamelen!
Guides blind! you who [are] straining out the gnat, the however camel swallowing!
25 Ve yver dykk skriftlærde og farisæarar, hyklarar som de er! de reinskar skåler og fat utanpå, men inni er dei fulle av ran og måteløysa.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, inwardly however they are full of greed and (self-indulgence. *NK(O)*)
26 Blinde farisæarar! Gjer fyrst skåli og fatet reine inni, so vert ho rein utanpå og.
Pharisee blind! do cleanse first the inside of the cup (and *KO*) (of the *ko*) (dish *KO*) that may become also the outside (of it *N(K)O*) clean.
27 Ve yver dykk skriftlærde og farisæarar, hyklarar som de er! de likjest kalka graver; utanpå er dei væne å sjå til, men inni er dei fulle av daudingbein og allslags ureinskap.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees hypocrites! For (you resemble *NK(o)*) tombs whitewashed which outside indeed appear beautiful, Inside however they are full of bones of [the] dead and of all impurity.
28 Soleis er de og utanpå rettferdige å sjå til for folk, men inni dykk er de fulle av hyklarskap og urett.
Thus also you yourselves outside indeed appear to men righteous, inwardly however you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
29 Ve yver dykk skriftlærde og farisæarar, hyklarar som de er! de byggjer minnesmerke yver profetarne og pryder graverne åt dei rettferdige og segjer:
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous
30 «Hadde me vore til då federne våre livde, so hadde me ikkje vore med deim og drepe profetarne.»
and you say; If (we were *N(k)O*) in the days of the fathers of us, not then would (we were ourselves being *N(k)O*) with them partakers in the blood of the prophets,
31 So vitnar de då um dykk sjølve at de er born åt deim som slo profetarne i hel.
Thus you bear witness to yourselves that sons you are of those having murdered the prophets;
32 Haldt no fram på same vis som federne dykkar, til målet er fullt!
And you yourselves do fill up the measure of the fathers of you.
Serpents Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape from the sentence of hell? (Geenna g1067)
34 Sjå, difor sender eg til dykk profetar og vismenner og skriftlærde; sume av dei kjem de til å drepa og krossfesta, og sume til å hudfletta i synagogorne dykkar og jaga frå by til by,
Because of this behold I myself send to you prophets and wise [men] and scribes; (and *k*) Some of them you will kill and will crucify and [some] of them you will flog in the synagogues of you and will persecute from town to town;
35 so det skal koma yver dykk alt det skuldlause blodet som hev runne på jordi, frå den skuldlause Abel og til Zakarja, son åt Barakias, han som de drap millom templet og altaret.
so that may come upon you all [the] blood righteous being poured out upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous until the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.
36 Det segjer eg dykk for visst: Yver denne ætti skal det koma alt saman.
Amen I say to you; (that *o*) will come these things all upon generation this.
37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, du som slær i hel profetarne, og steinar deim som er sende til deg, kor tidt hev eg’kje vilja samla borni dine kring meg, liksom ein fugl samlar ungarne sine under vengjerne! Men de vilde ikkje.
Jerusalem Jerusalem you who [are] (killing *NK(o)*) the prophets and stoning those sent to her! How often I wanted to gathered together the children of you, in which way a hen gathers together the chicks (of her *N(k)O*) under the wings, and not you were willing?
38 Sjå no skal de få hava huset dykkar audt.
Behold is left to you the house of you desolate!
39 For eg segjer dykk: De fær aldri sjå meg meir fyrr de ropar: «Velsigna vere han som kjem i Herrens namn!»»
I say for to you; certainly not Me shall you see from now until when you may say; Blessed [is] the [One] coming in [the] name of [the] Lord.’
