Matteus 19
1 Då Jesus hadde tala desse ordi, bar det so til at han tok ut frå Galilæa og for til Juda-bygderne. Han lagde vegen gjenom landet på hi sida Jordan;
AND it was that when Jeshu had finished these words, he removed from Galila and came into the confines of Jehud beyond Jurdan.
2 mykje folk fylgde honom der, og han lækte deim.
And great multitudes came after him, and he healed them there.
3 Då kom farisæarane til honom, og vilde freista honom og sagde: «Tru ein mann hev lov til å skilja seg frå kona si, kva orsak han tykkjest hava?»
And the Pharishee approached him, and, tempting him, propounded to him whether it was lawful for a man to send away his wife for every cause.
4 Han svara: «Hev de’kje lese at skaparen alt ifrå det fyrste skapte deim mann og kvinna,
But he answered and said to them, Have you not read that He who created from the beginning, male and female hath made them?
5 og sagde: «Difor skal mannen skiljast med far sin og mor si og halda seg hjå kona si, og dei tvo skal vera eitt kjøt?»
And he said, On this account a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
6 So er dei då ikkje lenger tvo, men eitt kjøt, og det som Gud hev bunde i hop, det skal ikkje menneskja skilja.»
Wherefore they were not two, but one body. That, therefore, which Aloha hath conjoined, man shall not separate.
7 Segjer dei til honom: «Kvi sagde då Moses at mannen skulde gjeva kona skilsmålsbrev og senda henne frå seg?»
They said to him, Why then did Musha direct that he should give a writing of dismissal and send her away?
8 «For dykkar harde hjarto skuld gav Moses dykk lov til å skiljast frå konorne dykkar, » svara han, «men frå det fyrste hev det ikkje vore so.
He said to them, Musha, on account of the hardness of your heart, permitted you to send away your wives; but from the beginning it was not so.
9 Og det segjer eg dykk, at den som skil seg frå kona si for anna enn utruskap, og gifter seg med ei onnor, han gjer hor.»
And I say to you that whosoever shall forsake his wife who is not adulterous, and take another, committeth adultery; and whosoever taketh the deserted one, committeth adultery.
10 Då sagde læresveinarne til honom: «Er det den retten som gjeld millom mann og kona, då er det ikkje godt å gifta seg.»
His disciples say to him, If thus be the case between the man and the woman, it is not expedient to take a wife.
11 Han svara: «Det er noko som ikkje alle kann læra, men berre dei som hev fenge gåva til det;
But he said to them, Not every man is sufficient for this doctrine, but he to whom it is given.
12 for det finst gjeldingar som er fødde so av morsliv, og det finst gjeldingar som folk hev gjeldt, og det finst gjeldingar som hev gjeldt seg sjølve for himmelriket skuld. Lat deim skyna det dei som kann!»
For there are some eunuchs who from their mother's womb are born so; and there are some eunuchs who by men are made eunuchs; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs on account of the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever is capable of receiving (this), let him receive (it).
13 So bar dei småborn til honom, og bad han vilde leggja henderne på deim og beda for deim. Læresveinarne truga deim,
Then they brought to him children, that he should put his hand upon them and pray. And his disciples forbad them.
14 men Jesus sagde: «Lat småborni vera, og hindra deim ikkje å koma til meg! For himmelriket høyrer sovorne til.»
But Jeshu himself said, Suffer children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of those who are as these, is the kingdom of heaven.
15 Og han lagde henderne på deim, og for so derifrå.
And he put his hand upon them, and went thence.
16 Då kom det ein til honom og sagde: «Meister, kva godt skal eg gjera so eg kann få eit æveleg liv?» (aiōnios g166)
AND one came and approached and said to him, Good teacher, what of good shall I do, that I may have the life of eternity? (aiōnios g166)
17 «Kvi spør du meg um det som er godt?» svara han. «Det er berre ein som er god. Men vil du ganga inn til livet, so haldt bodi!»
But he said to him, Why dost thou call me good? none is good but one, Aloha. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 «Kva for bod?» spurde han. «Desse, » svara Jesus: «Du skal ikkje drepa! Du skal ikkje gjera hor! Du skal ikkje stela! Du skal ikkje vitna rangt!
He said to him, Which? Jeshu answered him, Thou shalt not kill, neither commit adultery, nor steal, neither shalt thou witness false testimony;
19 Du skal æra far din og mor di! Du skal elska grannen din som deg sjølv!»
and honour thy father and thy mother, and love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 «Alt det hev eg halde, » segjer den unge mannen; «kva er det då som vantar meg?»
The young man saith to him, These all have I kept from my childhood: how am I deficient?
21 Jesus svara: «Vil du vera fullkomen, so tak og sel det du eig, og gjev det til dei fatige! då skal du få ein skatt i himmelen; og kom so og fylg meg!»
Jeshu saith to him, If thou wilt become perfect, go, sell thy possession and give to the poor, and there shall be for thee a treasure in heaven: and come after me.
22 Då den unge mannen høyrde det, vart han ille ved, og gjekk burt; for han hadde mykje gods.
But he, the young man, heard this word, and went away with sadness, for he had great property.
23 Då sagde Jesus til læresveinarne sine: «Det segjer eg dykk for sant: Det er vandt for ein rik å koma inn i himmelriket.
But Jeshu said to his disciples, Amen I say unto you, that it is difficult for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Ja, eg segjer dykk: Ein kamel kjem lettare gjenom eit nålauga enn ein rik kjem inn i Guds rike.»
Again I say to you, that it is easier for a camel to enter through the aperture of a needle, than the rich to enter into the kingdom of Aloha.
25 Då læresveinarne høyrde det, vart dei reint forfærde og sagde: «Kven kann då verta frelst?»
But the disciples when they heard were greatly hurt, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 Jesus såg på deim og sagde: «For menneskje er det umogelegt, men for Gud er alt mogelegt.»
Jeshu, beholding them, said, With the sons of men it is not possible; but with Aloha every thing is possible.
27 Då tok Peter til ords og sagde til honom: «Sjå, me hev gjeve ifrå oss alt og fylgt deg; kva skal då me få?»
THEN answered Kipha and said to him, Behold, we have abandoned every thing, and have come after thee: what then shall there be for us?
28 Og Jesus svara: «Det segjer eg dykk for sant: Når alt vert nytt, og Menneskjesonen sit i sin glimande kongsstol, då skal de og, som hev fylgt meg, sitja i tolv høgsete og styra dei tolv Israels-ætterne.
Jeshu saith to them, Amen I say to you, that you who have come after me, in the new world, when the Son of man shall sit upon the throne of his glory, you also shall sit upon twelve seats, and shall judge the twelve tribes of Isroel.
29 Og kvar som hev skilt seg med hus eller brør eller syster eller far eller mor eller born eller gardar for mitt namn skuld, han skal få det att mange gonger og erva eit ævelegt liv. (aiōnios g166)
And every man who hath relinquished houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, on account of my name, shall receive a hundred-fold, and shall inherit the life of eternity, (aiōnios g166)
30 Men mange av dei fyrste skal vera dei siste, og mange av dei siste dei fyrste.
Many however are first who shall be last, and the last first.
